BAWSEY COUNTRY PARK

This is a nice spot with lakes surrounded by woods and salt cliffs.  There is also a little beach and picnic area. There are 4 marked walks to enjoy ranging from 0.5 miles to 1.5 miles.  However, you can join them all up to make for a longer walk, which is what we usually do.  On a nice day it’s a great place for a paddle  (no swimming allowed for humans).  Some of the paths can be a bit steep in places.

BEESTON BUMP

The famous Beeston Bump: at 63 metres in height it is one of the highest points in Norfolk.  It used to be a WWII wireless interception station – you can read all about it on the information boards at the top of the bump.  The Beeston Bump is said to be where Black Shuck , the legendary devil dog had his lair!  It is also believed that this site is where Arthur Conan Doyle got his inspiration for the Sherlock Homes story, ‘The Hound Of The Baskervilles.’

The Beeston Bump is on the Norfolk Coast Path, approx 15min walk from the town of Sheringham.

Located on the beautiful east coast of England, Norfolk loves dogs and offers an abundance of opportunities for you and your pet to really discover, explore and enjoy Norfolk.

Dog friendly Norfolk beaches

From stunning beaches and forests and parks to lots of dog-friendly pubs and hotels. Norfolk has it all.

We’ll explore why Norfolk is a great destination for dog owners, show you some of the best dog-friendly accommodation options and point you in the direction of the top attractions and activities for dogs, and much more.

There need be no more waving goodbye to those sad looking eyes when you set off for your holidays.

And if you’re worried about finding dog friendly accommodation or places to eat with your pet, then rest assured there are plenty to discover. Norfolk welcomes you and your pet with open arms!

Take a look here at some ideas for dog friendly days out in Norfolk .

Why Norfolk is a great destination for dog owners

Norfolk has become a haven for dog owners, and it's not hard to see why.

Dog friendly Norfolk walks

Norfolk is home to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the UK , including the famous Norfolk Broads, a network of rivers, lakes, and marshes that stretch over 300 square kilometers. What with the Broads and 84 miles of beautiful coastline, Norfolk offers an abundance of places you can take your dogs, where they can run, swim, and play to their heart's content.

Have you even noticed how much your dog loves running on a beach – they just feel free!

Whether you prefer gentle strolls along a footpath or open expanse of beach, or a bit more of an energetic walk, possibly along the Norfolk Coast Path, Norfolk has something for every type of dog owner.

Dog Friendly Accommodation Options

When it comes to finding dog-friendly accommodation in Norfolk, you'll be spoiled for choice. From coastal cottages to luxury hotels and pubs, there’s a wide range of options to suit every budget and preference.

Many holiday cottages in Norfolk welcome dogs, providing a comfortable base for you and your furry companion. Some even offer additional amenities such as enclosed gardens and doggy welcome packs (take a look at Pack Holidays who offer extremely dog friendly accommodation).

If you prefer the convenience of a hotel, there are plenty of pet-friendly options available, some of which you can see here.   They range from:

  • luxury hotels and pubs
  • bed and breakfasts and campsites
  • lodges and chalets

Bringing your dog on holiday is becoming ever more popular, and being a rural county, Norfolk accepts them openly.

A welcome dog friendly Norfolk sign at a bar in a pub

There are often a few restrictions in the accommodations such as allowing dogs into the bar areas but not the restaurants, but that's understandable.

The only hard work you need to do is to consider the type of accommodation you want to stay in for you and your pet!

Norfolk's beaches, parks and trails

One of the highlights of a dog-friendly holiday in Norfolk is the opportunity to get out and explore the county's landscape. Norfolk is blessed with plenty of beaches and trails that are perfect for outdoor adventures with your four-legged friend .

The Norfolk Coast Path, for example, stretches for 84 miles, offering breathtaking views of the coastline and ample opportunities for long walks and invigorating hikes.  In fact, if you wanted to walk this trail with your dog, just take a look here , and we can fix that for you.   We have many walkers who want a walking holiday along the coastal path with their dog – you’re not alone!

Many of the dog friendly Norfolk beaches are a must-visit destination, some boasting miles of golden sand such as Old Hunstanton and Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea .  With approximately 28 accessible beaches, you shouldn't be stuck for ideas!

For a more tranquil experience, head to Thetford Forest, the UK's largest lowland forest, where you and your dog can wander through ancient woodlands and enjoy the serenity of nature.

Norfolk's amazing beaches, perfect for dogs!

This dog friendly Norfolk beaches guide will tell you exactly which restrictions each beach has.  And for more detail on each individual Norfolk beach, visit my comprehensive beach guide on all of Norfolk's beaches .

Many of the beaches in Norfolk do have restrictions in the summer months , but there are areas away from the restrictions where you are able to take you dog.  On the busier beaches in the summer such as Cromer and Sheringham, it certainly makes sense to avoid these beaches with dogs.

There are plenty of alternative completely dog friendly beaches where you don't have to worry at all.

Looking for a coastal dog walk?

If you're looking for a different walk around the coast, then Explore Norfolk UK has a publication called "Dog Walks Around the Norfolk Coast".  You can read more about the book here .

This book has 16 coastal dog walks covering the whole of the Norfolk coast.   They are based on walks where you can let you dog roam under control, with very little time needed on roads and lanes.

Dog Walks Around The Norfolk Coast

Norfolk is also very lucky to have lots of trails to follow and Country Parks to walk in .  The Peddars Way , The Norfolk Coast Path , The Nar Valley, Boudica Way are just a few of the Norfolk trails that you can follow, to name just a few.

And you can also read about many coastal and inland walks that are good for dogs as well as humans!

Dog Walks In The Grounds Of Norfolk Stately Homes And Parklands

As you may know, Norfolk has some amazing stately homes .   All of these have wonderful parkland where you can walk your dog (restrictions need to be adhered to due to cattle or deer in some of these parks).

Dog walking in the grounds outside Sandringham House

Why not take a beautiful walk around the parkland of Blickling Hall , or Felbrigg Hall , it’s different for the dogs and different for you too.  You also get to see some amazing houses at the same time. Sandringham House has gorgeous woodland you can walk in, and Houghton Hal l and Holkham Hall have the deer parks.

Sheringham Park

Sheringham Park and Holt Country Park are beautiful Parklands to walk around in North Norfolk with your well behaved dog.

Dog Friendly Norfolk Events

If you're looking to add some excitement to your dog-friendly holiday in Norfolk, be sure to check out the various events and festivals tailored specifically for dogs and their owners.

The Norfolk Showground hold an event, usually over the August bank holiday, titled “ All About Dogs, Norfolk ”.  You can check out other events  here on the Events page .

Some of the Norfolk villages put on dog shows during the summer months which always provide great family entertainment.    Crufts they may not be, but still fun! Hunstanton is a good example of this – The Hunstanton Fun Dog Show, usually in May of each year.  Take a look at The Barking Bugle's "what's on" page which is full of doggie shows!

Additionally, many local farmers' markets and fairs are dog-friendly, such as Creake Abbey Farmers Market, so you can browse the stalls and sample delicious treats while your dog enjoys the lively atmosphere.

Unleash the fun on your dog-friendly holiday in Norfolk!

With its stunning natural landscapes, dog-friendly accommodation options, and a wide range of activities and attractions, Norfolk has something to offer every dog owner.

Angles Way is truly massive and impossible to take in all in one day! It’s 93 miles long and, like Burgh Castle, brings you close to Breydon Water, as well as Rivers Yare and Waveney. There are pedestrian ferries along here as well as lovely inns and pubs on route.

Top Circular Walks in Norfolk For your Dogs To Enjoy

2. The Felbrigg Estate

Ok – this one’s a bit of a cheat, as it is actually several circular walks in one! We love Felbrigg as it’s one of the most stunning National Trust zones in Norfolk. Take a look at lake walks and blissful, breezy trees down on the Church and Ice House trail.

3. Burnham Overy Staithe, Brancaster

Up in north Norfolk, this coastal walk has a lot of history behind it, with a strong heritage in ports and shipping. There’s a brilliant harbour scene as well as connections to local nature reserves. On the whole, it’s a great chance for you to see natural Norfolk’s best.

Dog Friendly Things To Do in Norfolk

If you haven’t already discovered the delights of Norfolk then it really ought to be on your bucket list. Nobody goes through Norfolk to get to anywhere; it’s a dead end, so it’s quiet. Far less traffic than many other areas of the country. However, there are plenty of dog friendly things to do in Norfolk

Dog Friendly Norfolk

Norfolk is located on the east coast of England and is part of East Anglia. Not only is Norfolk famous for its rolling landscape but also The Broads. Lock free waterways give you a relaxing way to admire the countryside.

Dog Friendly Walks

Being mostly arable there is very little in the way of livestock to worry about on your walks.  No stone walls, stiles and gates to traverse. No fields of sheep or cattle to walk through. Just lots of rural paths and bridleways. Long pathways criss-cross the county – Weavers Way , Peddars Way and North Norfolk Coastal Path etc.  The landscape is at best gently rolling. This makes for easy walking, no steep hills or climbing and nowhere dangerous or difficult to access.

Dog Friendly Beaches

And then there are the beaches.  Norfolk is famous for the miles and miles of quiet sandy coastline with only a few restrictions on some beaches in the summer months.  For most of the year, you can find a piece of beach to have for yourself and your dogs. If the tide is in many of the beaches have areas of dunes for dogs to run in.

Winterton On Sea is one of the most popular here in the south with its acres of rolling dunes for easy walking behind the beach.  Just up the coast is Sea Palling – a tiny resort with Blue Flag status and a reef-protected beach ensuring quiet and shallow waters all year round.  Nearby Horsey is where the seals come on land to give birth.  You do have to keep your dog on the lead when they are there (winter months) but it’s amazing to be able to see so many of these mammals in one place.

In the north of the county is the famous Holkham beach. Probably the biggest beach in Norfolk – an awesome place to walk at any time of the year.  There are stunning coastal marshland areas too further south in places like Stiffkey and Morston.  Lots of mud and creeks but such fun for the dogs and so very peaceful.

Woods and Heathland

There are some great woodland and common areas too. Bacton/Witton Woods is owned by the district council and managed as a great recreational space.  Even when the car park is full (I’ve never actually seen that!) the woods are plenty big enough for everyone to have space and enjoy.    Kelling Heath , outside Holt, is a great place to explore with dogs too and Sheringham Park (National Trust) is a perennial favourite.

Dog Friendly Cafes and Restaurants

When you’ve walked your socks off under the great big Norfolk skies you will find plenty of places to stop for refreshments that allow your dogs in too.  Many of the pubs are very happy to have dogs in the bars, lots of them have dog-friendly gardens and a good number of cafes do welcome dogs in.

Some of the favourites are The Star at Lessingham , the cafe on Winterton Beach, Smallsticks Barn Cafe at Cart Gap.

Towards Cromer you will be welcomed at The Vernon Arms , South Repps or the award-winning Gunton Arms just outside North Walsham.  Try The Crown at Wells, The Lifeboat at Thornham next to the beach, The Beach Cafe at Wells and for a bit of a feel of times past the elegant Cliftonville Hotel on the cliffs at Cromer where you can sit in leather chairs in front of the fire with your dogs.

If you want to explore the Broads you can find a good doggy welcome at not one but two pubs in Hickling – The Greyhound and The Pleasure Boat Inn .

Dog Friendly Attractions in Norfolk

There is nothing quite like watching the world go by as you relax. Bure Vally Railway has stations at Aylsham and Wroxham. A 15 – 20 minute walk from Wroxham then takes you to the start of the cruise on The Norfolk Broads.

Dalegate Market is located between Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea. With various independent shops and cafes, the market also has pop-up shops and events. Keep an eye on their event calendar for details.

If you have children, then how about a boat trip to see the seals? Beans Boats head out to Blakeney Harbour to give your family the chance to spot seals and many birds too. Plenty of photo opportunities as the seals often pop up near the boat.

Since opening in 2007, the Dad’s Army Museum in Thetford has gone from strength to strength. See where the series was filmed, the church hall, bunker room and more. Take part in a walking tour or the coach tour before having a mooch around the museum itself.

Norfolk is fabulous for dogs but in essence, it’s a really easy place to have dogs, quiet enough to relax in but more than enough to do when you are here.

Dog Friendly Holidays

places to visit norfolk with dogs

Wells-next-the-Sea

For white sandy beaches and shallow water pools.

Norfolk Coast Path, Wells-next-the-Sea, North Norfolk, NR23 1DR

Sea dogs will love a trip to Wells-next-the-Sea and the stunning surrounding area. While popular, the beach itself never feels overly crowded; there’s alway enough space for playful pups to run along the sand and splash about in the shallow water pools.

  • By The Beach
  • Children Welcome
  • Multiple Dogs Allowed
  • Rural Walks

There’s a lovely a circular walk from Wells-next-the-Sea taking in neighbouring Holkham beach and Holkham Estate (cleverly mapped out for you by  Ordnance Survey ). It takes you over sand dunes, along the beach and through the sweeping parkland that surrounds Holkham Hall. Dogs are welcome to explore the grounds if they are kept on a short lead and can even pad around the shop, walled garden (our favourite area) and the courtyard café too.

The walk takes approximately three hours in total at a moderate pace. We suggest making a day of it and stopping for lunch at  The Victoria Inn on the Holkham Estate. It’s super dog friendly – they may even give your dog a little treat – and really cosy. One of the decadent puddings should give you just enough energy for the remaining part of the walk back to Wells.

Our top tip? Pack a towel. Your four-legged friend will get muddy and sandy. But they’ll also have the time of their life.

For The Dogs

Dogs are allowed on Wells-next-the-Sea beach all year round subject to certain restrictions. While a small area of the beach is kept dog free, the largest stretch is completely dog friendly offering playful pooches plenty of opportunity to frolic off their leads.

Opening Hours

While there are no official opening hours, the beach and park are busy at peak times.

Park at Wells-next-the-Sea beach car park, Holkham (Lady Anne’s Drive) or Holkham Park. All charge for parking, so bring a card to pay with.

Want to rest weary paws after your dog walk but take in more sights? Hop on the North Norfolk Steam Railway . It takes you on a trip from Sheringham to the Georgian town of Holt, taking in some of the county’s most stunning coastal scenery along the way. We also love Holt Country Park . With 100 acres of mixed woodland, there are so many pathways and trails to explore. It’s fantastic for dog walks. Pick up a map from the visitor centre before you head off.

Sheringham Park

Explore 1,000 acres of woodland and parkland with your pooch.

We love Sheringham Park; a National Trust park in Upper Sheringham boasting 1,000 acres to explore and a whole host of scenic walks of varying lengths to enjoy. With stunning sea views on one side and rural landscapes on the other, there’s so much to see no matter which season you visit in.

Norfolk Dog Friendly Days Out

5 dog friendly days out in Norfolk

Norfolk is a well-loved haven for family holidays – especially those with four-legged family members who don’t want to get left at home! The walks are incredible and the beaches welcoming, however, you don’t want to spend your entire trip only going for dog-walks or limiting your sightseeing. Thankfully, these days out in Norfolk are great ways to explore the county and its cultural and natural richness and they are all dog-friendly!

Fair Haven Woodland & Water Garden

Sheringham park, bure valley railway, castle acre priory, salhouse broad.

Fair Haven Woodland & Water Garden

There are a number of reasons why Fair Haven Woodland & Water Garden is special – it is visually sensational, bustling with greenery, flowers and water features and it is open to the public throughout the year. There are four miles worth of walking paths weaving through this 130 acre cultivated woodland area, all lined with eye-catching flowers, rare birds and billowing trees that have been standing strong for ages. Dogs are welcome, with a small fee of 25p to cover a poop scoop, and the paths are dotted with water bowls to keep them hydrating throughout adventure-time. You need to keep them on their lead.

Sheringham Park

This National Trust property is one of numerous reasons why Brits adore the National Trust – it is a glorious display of natural beauty, with sea-views from the luscious landscape park and woodland garden. If you were to build a theme-park for dogs, you’d probably make it look pretty similar to Sheringham Park – it has got everything they could possibly need and more, spanning 1000 acres. While you get a chance to learn about the property and its historical significance in Norfolk and along its coastline, your dogs can be let your dogs off their lead so they can really get involved with all the exciting smells and all the new terrain to mark. Just keep an eye on them!

Dogs are welcome and must be kept on leads around the visitor facilities and where cattle are grazing. Website: Sheringham Park

Bure Valley Railway

The Bure Valley Railway is not only home to riveting information on the area’s trains and history, train and boat rides, and other fun activities, but it is also home to the cocker-spaniel-in-residence, Henry. And Henry loves friends. The only place the dogs can’t roam is the Whistlestop Café, otherwise they are welcome everywhere – gift shops and ticket offices included! Even then, there are dog parking hitches in place to ensure your puppy-pal is safe while you enjoy a coffee in the café. The entire property is sprinkled with dog water bowls and a marquee is erected for shade in the Summer months. There’s no reason not to – head with the whole family to Bure Valley Railway and be ready for adventure.

Castle Acre Priory

Dating all the way back to 1090, the Castle Acre Priory is an unmissable cultural attraction when visiting Norfolk. It is regarded as the biggest and best maintained monastic sites in England and is where the first Cluniac order of monks lived. The trouble with a lot of these sorts of culturally enriching experiences is that they aren’t always welcoming to dogs – that’s not something you’ve got to be worried about here, though. Dogs are encouraged to walk around this impressive sight with you and will likely be particularly enchanted by the barn owls, little owls, rabbits and grey squirrels – which, as you probably already know, are great for dogs practicing their chasing but less appealing for the serene wildlife animals, and so dogs are required to be kept on leashes.

Salhouse Broad

The last but certainly not the least of these world-class tourism spots in the Norfolk countryside is the Salhouse Broad. You feel part of a separate, calmer world when exploring the Salhouse Broad. The tranquility is tangible, with nothing but birdsong filling your ears – and perhaps water splashing as your happy dog plays in the gentle water alongside wild and wonderful woods. You can hire canoes and explore from the water, or go by foot on the flat, ancient-oak tree-lined walking paths and boardwalks. There are water tap facilities at various points, as well as lead-free areas for your dogs to play uninhibited.

Dogs welcome all year round with plenty of lead-free areas. Website: Salhouse Broad

Bean’s Boat Trips

Bean’s Boat Trips

The best way to get up close to the famous grey seal colony at Blakeney Point is by catching one of the Bean’s Boat Trips ferries that run several times a day from Morston Quay. Inquisitive seals can regularly be seen swimming around the boat during the 1-hour trip and you can also spot a selection of birds including terns and oystercatchers.

Whilst well-behaved dogs are welcome to hop aboard the Bean’s Boat ferry with you, they must be kept on leads for the duration of the trip and are not allowed to go near the seals so may just be a trip for laidback and very calm canines.

Holkham Hall

Holkham Hall

The 25-acre Holkham Hall estate lies alongside an unspoilt stretch of sand on the North Norfolk coast with lots of woodland and beach walks to try with four-legged friends. There’s a nature trail to follow, sweeping parkland to explore and even a beautiful walled garden that you can take a turn around as long as dogs are kept on leads. Many of these seaside towns and villages have dog-friendly beaches so four-legged friends can run on the sand and dip their toes in the sea on a fun-filled Norfolk day out.

Here are some of our favourite dog-friendly beaches in Norfolk:

Old Hunstanton - This stretch of sand is sheltered from the wind by its striped red cliffs and gets lots of sunshine during the summer months. It’s dog friendly all year round and just a short walk from the main Hunstanton resort. Check out our pet-friendly Hunstanton cottages .

Brancaster - Brancaster is a pretty village on the Norfolk coast and, with miles of glorious golden sand here, there is plenty of room for everyone at this dog-friendly beach. Sheringham - There’s a special dog-friendly beach zone at Sheringham between May and September but four-legged friends are welcome everywhere during the rest of the year. The Canine guide to Norfolk

Norfolk and dogs go together like walkies and waggy tails. It’s where the mythical Black Shuck prowls the coast and countryside; where Queen Elizabeth II spent time at her private home – Sandringham – along with her beloved corgis; and even Admiral Lord Nelson, one of Norfolk’s most famous residents, had a dog named Nileus.

So, it’s no surprise that Norfolk is a great destination for dog-friendly holidays. There are miles upon miles of waterside walkies to be found – whether beside the Broads or along the golden coastline – as well as rolling countryside to roam under never-ending skies. Added to that are the mouthwatering pubs and restaurants, unforgettable attractions and the cosiest dog-friendly cottages – all in all, it’s the perfect recipe for an epic holiday with your hound.

Click the button below to head straight to our wonderful collection of pet-friendly Norfolk cottages, or read on and let us present our ultimate guide to dog-friendly Norfolk – in the words of Delia Smith: “let’s be ‘avin you!”

Follow the best dog walks in Norfolk

Let’s put the beaches aside for now and focus on Norfolk’s abundant walkies. Home to miles upon miles of countryside, Norfolk boasts a massive 1,200 miles of tracks, trails and thoroughfares for you to explore with your pup, including ten long-distance routes.

If you’re looking for good dog walks for your best boy or girl, you’ve come to the right place – here are three of our favourite Norfolk walkies.

Our top dog walks in Norfolk

  • Holt Country Park - there are acres upon acres of woodland to explore, leaves to scamper through and squirrels to chase. All walks are circular, meaning whether your legs are little or long, you can find a suitable distance.
  • Felbrigg Hall - this particular circular walk takes in open fields, woodland, a lake and the ice house, so your pup will be delighted with the range of scents to sniff! Felbrigg also joins up with the popular long-distance trail, Weaver’s Way!
  • Thetford Forest - walks range from 1 mile to 14 miles and huge pine trees give way to areas of heathland – the vast space means it’s a tranquil haven where you’re unlikely to bump into anyone else.

If you're looking for even more top trails to sniff out together, our full guide to the best dog walks in Norfolk includes seaside strolls on the North Norfolk Coast, beautiful ambles around the Norfolk Broads and so much more.

Discover the best dog-friendly beaches in Norfolk

Discover the best dog-friendly beaches in Norfolk

With over 100 miles of coastline, Norfolk is one of the UK’s best destinations for a coastal break with your dog. While some of the beaches have seasonal dog restrictions, there are plenty of year-round dog-friendly beaches to explore, plus the 83-mile Norfolk Coast Path where your hound can feel the salty sea wind in his ears.

While popular beaches include Cromer, Mundesley and Caister-on-Sea, we’ve picked out three hidden gems for you to explore with your four-legged friend.

Our top dog-friendly beaches in Norfolk

  • Gorleston Beach - it's a quieter alternative to its busier neighbour, Great Yarmouth , and at certain times of the year it’s easy to spot more dogs than people! The south end has no restrictions plus there’s a lovely café on the promenade where your dog is welcome.
  • Old Hunstanton Beach - it's dog-friendly all year round and boasts a beachfront café which welcomes dogs inside – plus, Hunstanton is one of the only places in Norfolk where you can watch the sun set, due to its west-facing position. Find out more in our Hunstanton guide .
  • Holkham Beach - walk through a pine wood and along the boardwalk to get to this huge swathe of sand, it’s a sure bet that your dog’s nose will be tingling and his tail will be wagging.

Discover even more dog-friendly Norfolk beaches in our full guide and enjoy watching your four-pawed best pal digging in the sand, paddling in the sea, and meeting other sea-loving pups who've also come to discover Norfolk's fantastic pet-friendly beaches.

Sniff out the best attractions across Norfolk

Sniff out the best attractions across Norfolk

When you’ve walked all you can walk and visited more beaches than you can shake a tail at, it’s time to check out Norfolk’s dog-friendly attractions. Come rain or shine, there are plenty of days out with your dog on offer in Norfolk, whether you want to take to the waterways, check out some historical sites or simply admire the scenery. Here are three of our favourite places to visit with your pup.

Our top dog-friendly attractions in Norfolk

  • Broads Tours - have you really been to Norfolk if you haven’t seen the Broads? We don’t think so. Enjoy the tranquillity (and lack of responsibility) of exploring the peaceful landscape on board a passenger boat where dogs are welcome aboard for a small additional charge.
  • Blakeney Seal Trips - your hound can channel his inner salty sea dog on a trip to spot the pups of the sea - the famous Blakeney seals. Only good dogs on leads are allowed on the boat, though, so best pack a little treat just in case some gentle bribery is required.
  • North Norfolk Railway - voted one of the UK’s great heritage railways, you can enjoy the scenic ride from Sheringham, along the coast to Weybourne and through to Holt, taking in three Victorian stations. Best of all, four-legged passengers are welcome on board too for a small extra fee.

Dine at the best places to eat across Norfolk

Dine at the best places to eat across Norfolk

There's no need to leave the family pup at home when you head out for a special holiday meal in one of Norfolk's wonderful eateries. Lucky for you both, Norfolk is bursting with delightfully dog-friendly places to eat, from fancy restaurants to charming cafes, and not forgetting cosy pubs. Here are three of our favourite paw-friendly places to eat in Norfolk.

Our top dog-friendly places to eat in Norfolk

  • The Orange Tree in Thornham - a trendy village gastropub that welcomes gastro-pups too, as it offers a dedicated doggy menu! Dine on pub classics, sharing platters and mouthwatering desserts all with a foodie flair and an impressive commitment to alternative diets.
  • The Jetty Café - on Cromer’s high street, this café sources the crab from local suppliers and always has room for doggy diners. It would be rude to visit Cromer and not taste the famous Cromer crab, and you can enjoy a ten-legged feast with your four-legged friend! Check out our Cromer guide for more info.
  •   Whelk Coppers Tea Room - a traditional tea room in Sheringham that's a great pit-stop after seaside walks and has a lovely waterside view. Don’t worry if you’ve got a soggy doggy - towels are provided for a quick spruce-up alongside a dedicated feeding station.

If you love the atmosphere of a friendly pub for dining out, you can discover even more great dog-friendly pubs across Norfolk in our guide. We've dipped into their county's offerings and these are our favourites!
