The information for the following product(s) has been collected independently by Business Insider: Citi Strata Premier℠ Card, Citi Prestige® Card, Citi Custom Cash℠ Card, Citi® Double Cash Card, Citi Rewards+® Card. The details for these products have not been reviewed or provided by the issuer.

  • If you have a Citi credit card that earns ThankYou points, you can book your travel with them.
  • The Citi Travel Portal is like an online travel agency, allowing you to make bookings with ease.
  • You can pay with points (worth 1 cent each), your Citi credit card, or a combination of both.

Citi ThankYou Rewards is a flexible points program that allows you to earn points from eligible Citi credit cards and banking products. You can redeem points in a number of ways, including for travel, cash back, or gift cards.

One of the best ways to use points is for travel, either by transferring Citi ThankYou points to airline partners for award flights (only available with certain Citi credit cards), or through an even easier option available to all program members — the Citi Travel portal.

Citi Travel recently got a big overhaul, and it's now partnered with Booking.com and powered by Rocket Travel by Agoda technology. Here's what to know about the new Citi Travel portal and what to expect if you decide to book.

Overview of the Portal

The Citi Travel Portal is an online travel booking platform that works in a similar way to Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) like Orbitz or Expedia. You can search for flights, hotels, rental cars, and attractions based on your destination, travel dates, and other preferences, and you have the option to pay with Citi ThankYou points, your Citi card, or a combination of both.

Benefits of Booking Through the Portal

Although Citi Travel doesn't get as much attention as American Express Travel or the Chase Ultimate Rewards® Travel Portal , it has many of the same benefits:

  • You can book travel with no blackout dates
  • There's no need to worry about loyalty program award charts or availability
  • Your points are worth a flat 1 cent each toward travel, and you can combine them with cash if you don't have enough for a booking
  • You'll still earn airline miles and elite-qualifying miles when you book flights, even when you pay entirely with points
  • It's possible to pool Citi points from different credit cards (or even share with friends and family who have Citi ThankYou accounts)

A downside to using the Citi Travel Portal is you won't earn points or elite status credit for hotel stays, and you might not have your elite status recognized because it's considered a third-party booking.

If you're looking for the easiest way to cash in Citi points for travel, the Citi ThankYou Travel Portal is a better choice for most people. That said, it's possible to get more than 1 cent per point in value if you skip the Citi Portal and instead transfer your points at a 1:1 ratio to an airline or hotel partner for award travel — but that involves more legwork.

The full range of partners is available if you have the Citi Strata Premier℠ Card or Citi Prestige® Card (no longer available to new applicants). Otherwise, JetBlue, Choice, and Wyndham are the only airline and hotel options, with a reduced transfer ratio.

How to Log In

To access the Citi Travel Portal, you must be a Citi customer with a ThankYou rewards account. Once you sign in to your Citi account online and click the "View/Redeem" button in the rewards section, you'll land on a screen with several redemption options. Click "Book Travel" in the lower left-hand corner.

Alternatively, you can get to the same screen by signing in with your Citi login details at ThankYou.com .

Once you click "Book Travel," you'll be prompted to select the Citi card account you want to book with if you have multiple Citi cards. Then you'll land on the main Citi Travel search screen.

How to Book Flights with Citi Travel

To search for flights, click the "Flights" tab and enter your departure and destination airport and dates of travel. You'll also have options to select round-trip or one-way flights, class of service, number of passengers, and if you prefer non-stop flights. Then hit "Search."

Next, you'll see a list of flight search results — starting with your outbound flight — which you can sort by price, number of stops, departure time, arrival time, duration, or "best overall" (cheap, short flights). On the left sidebar, there are also filters for the departure and arrival times, airline, number of stops, price range, and total journey duration. To choose a flight, click on the "Select" button, then repeat the process for your return leg if you've searched for a round-trip itinerary.

Once you've selected your flights, you'll be prompted to enter passenger details and will be given options to upgrade your fare (most folks will skip this step). Then, on the final booking screen, you'll have the opportunity to select your payment method — either using your Citi card, ThankYou points, or a combination of both.

How to Book Hotels with Citi Travel

The process of finding a hotel to book through the Citi Travel portal is similar to searching for flights. After selecting the "Hotels" option from the main menu, enter your destination, stay dates, and the number of guests in the search fields.

The results page allows you to sort by property class, price, distance, hotel name, and recommended results. You can filter by price, class, TripAdvisor rating, amenities, nearby landmarks, and even hotels offering deals. One useful feature is the ability to quickly identify properties that have discounted rates by looking for the "Sale" flag in the corner of the hotel listing.

To find out more about the hotel you're interested in, click on the hotel name and you'll be shown different bed options, rate types with cancellation policies, and available packages (breakfast included, for instance) if applicable. Select "Check out" next to the room you want to book. You'll then be asked for guest details (name, address, phone number, and email).

Once you've entered your information, you'll come to the final booking screen where, again, you can choose your method of payment.

How to Rent a Car with Citi Travel

Searching for a car rental through Citi Travel is similarly easy. Once you've clicked "Cars" on the main menu, enter your pick-up location (you can select a different drop-off location if needed), rental dates and times, and the driver's age.

The results list allows you to sort by price, rental company, or car type.

Once you find a car you like, click on its listing to learn more about the rental and enter the driver's name and details.

On the final booking screen, you'll choose your method of payment — again, your Citi card, ThankYou points, or a combination of both.

How to Book Attractions Through Citi Travel

Select the "Attractions" tab on the main search page, and enter the city name where you want to search.

Depending on the destination, you'll get a list of all kinds of activities — from tours and sightseeing tickets to airport transfers and excursions.

When you click on the attraction, you'll get more details about what's included in the activity.

Click "See options" to choose your activity dates, times, and the number of participants.

Once you select "Choose" you'll have the opportunity to enter your traveler details. Then, you'll be brought to the final booking screen where you can select your payment method.

Before you choose between booking through the Citi Portal or transferring points to a partner for an award flight, be sure to compare the number of points required in each case — and verify that an award flight is actually available before you decide on that route.

Citi offers several different cards that earn Citi ThankYou points:

  • Citi Strata Premier℠ Card: Earn 75,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 in the first three months of account opening
  • Citi Custom Cash℠ Card : Earn $200 cash back, fulfilled as 20,000 ThankYou® Points, after you spend $1,500 on purchases in the first six months of account opening
  • Citi® Double Cash Card
  • Citi Rewards+® Card : Earn 20,000 bonus points after spending $1,500 in the first three months of account opening
  • Citi Prestige® Card: No longer available to new applicants

If you have the Citi Strata Premier℠ Card, there's an additional incentive to book through the Citi ThankYou portal. Once per calendar year, cardholders can get $100 off a hotel stay of $500 or more (before taxes and fees) when they book through the Citi portal — whether the stay is booked with points, charged to the Citi Strata Premier℠ Card, or a combination of both.

The Citi Travel Portal is a terrific tool if you're looking for a way to redeem points for flights, hotels, car rentals, and attractions without worrying about blackout dates or fussing with loyalty program award charts. You'll even earn frequent flyer miles and elite credits for flight bookings (but you won't earn hotel points or elite nights on hotel stays, because it's a third-party booking).

Anyone with an eligible Citi ThankYou credit card can redeem their points through the portal at a rate of 1 cent each. Or, if you don't have enough points to cover the entire booking, you can pay with your Citi card in combination with rewards to make up the difference.

Even though using the Citi Travel Portal is easy and convenient, it is usually possible to get more value from your Citi ThankYou points by transferring them to Citi's airline and hotel partners. This method requires jumping through more hoops and searching for award availability, so if you'd rather avoid that inconvenience, the Citi Travel Portal is an ideal booking method.

Citi cardholders can access the travel portal by logging into their online account and navigating to the travel section or directly through the Citi Travel website.

Yes, you can use your Citi points to book flights, hotels, car rentals, and more through the portal. Points can cover all or part of the booking cost.

Typically, bookings made through the portal using your Citi card will earn points according to your card's rewards program.

The portal does not usually charge additional booking fees, but it's always best to review the terms and conditions for any specific charges that may apply.

Yes, you can cancel or modify bookings, but the ability to do so without penalty depends on the specific terms of your booking. Always check the cancellation policy at the time of booking.

I used Citiair travel first time and it was a nightmare. It was Xmas time and I had to fly on 22 Dec. Tickets were expensive. Agent-Prince DeSilva messed up my tickets and asked $200/tickets to change. He mix n matched the airlines. He called to say-1 check in while flying to India and 2 check in flying back to US. Later calls to say it will be 1 check in both ways. The agent does not answer and on requesting the supervisor, I was told once available, they will call. No calls received. I would not advice anyone to use Citiair Travels. While calling to confirm my seats for the return journey to US, I am told I am authorized 2 check ins!! I had 2 confirmed meals but Indigo did not provide me food on an international flight!!! It was Indigo flight from IGI to Doha before connecting to US. I have reported the issue to Indigo & Qatar as well. Again I was told-they will look into it .

Cruel, Greedy, No Humanity, Awful Customer Service. I could not travel because of Surgery. I requested Number of Times to Change the Dates. No Response.

My recommendation is not to engage Citiair(Shitty air) for your travel. While booking the ticket, I had agreed upon a price, but the agent had failed to block the booking and I had to pay $300 per ticket for 4 tickets. Since it was peak time, I had to get the tickets and was of urgent nature. Another mistake the agent made that I realized later while rescheduling the same ticket from Qatar was that they had issues adult tickets for my kids which also bumped up the price. The worst part is cancellation. trust me you will never get the money back if a ticket is cancelled. I have been running around for 3 months but they are refusing it even though Qatar has given them the voucher for $1300 for one of the ticket that was cancelled. Qatar even emailed me the copy of the Voucher, but "Shiity"air simply refuses to refund me the money. I talked to one Paul who agreed to pay after I conferenced him with Qatar but after a few days he says he cannot (read as will not) refund the money. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE FRAUDSTERS.

Its sad that there is no option to mark their rating in negative. All the agency got is a bunch of scumbags. How could a travel agency doesn't know about visa requirement if the transit involves change of airport? And very bad follow up &response from their team while trying to resolve the issue. Keen in getting dozens of signatures just to make sure the customers doesn't file dispute. Ilango, Veera, Paul, Prabha(arrogant), Yesuraj, Anand - please learn some customer service etiquettes.

Big fraud company. I got cheated by Ashwini and Prabha. Then gave wrong information and cheated with me for $220.00. Try to cancel your reservation and you will see how they treat you. Big liars.

Photo of S T.

Never ever book through this citiair. They will not call you back for changing or canceling flights. Since you book with them any change needs to be done by them. When i call twice they told be someone is checking my fair and will call me They never call. Please stay away from this. It is better you buy directly and not have to go throw this. I booked changeable flights but Now i am not able to do anything b'coz it has to be done by citizir travel and no one is responding to me. I have spend $3400 for my trip for urgent travel to attend mother in law funeral and they people now not responding for changing flights. Very poor service.

Photo of Ashutosh K.

I would give zero stars if there is an...Be careful. I would give zero stars if there is an option. They booked a round trip air india ticket, took credit card details and charged me twice. When I raised this- they refunded extra payment and messed up ticket. So I ended up paying for round trip, and after my one way travel was done I tried to reach out airlines for re-scheduling. Thats when I knew my ticket is suspended and I need to book another ticket for my return. When emailed to follow up- apparently there was no response. So they suck your money and you dont even get to travel. Be aware of this fraud travel agency and never book with them

Photo of Kriti B.

#1 It's the worst site to book your flight. The prices are cheap but customer service is bad. I had to reschedule my tickets and wanted to know the procedure. They told the procedure and hung up. Then when I finalized the dates, I have been calling since last 10 days and no one picks my call or responds to my email. And if I am unable To change my reservation in coming 3 days I lose $900, way too much for a graduate student to lose for me fault of her own.

Photo of Nagarathinam M.

Never ever book through this company, if you disconnect after your first ring, they will call you back immediately when you want to book tickets. But they never help you when need or find reasons (like you need to talk to someone else) to avoid your calls. The change fee are much more expensive than going through the airlines. Worst experience ever and will not recommend to my enemies too.

Photo of Akash K.

Beware! Its not advise, its warning Beware! Think 1000 times before making any booking with this agency. It used to be good but now, its literally NIGHTMARE. I like to share my personal and very horrible experience. I had booked 3 return tickets to India on 20-April for 15-June travel from Emirates airline. I made a call to airline 13-June (2 days before to fly) to reserve my seats. And, I was shocked when I understood that my departure tickets are cancelled on 22-April itself. I was on call with Airline for whole night to find out the reason of cancellation and as Airline explained, It was clear fault of CITIAIR as required information for booking was not shared with airline by Citiair on time. One of the junior agent of citiair accepted it, too as he forgot, he should not accept it. I reached out to CITIAIR to resolve this issue ASAP but they stopped picking my call after making this blunder. I spent 2 whole sleepless night before travel because of this unprofessional people. Agents are very rude, specially Prabha. I wish, I would give them negative rating.

Worst experience with Citiair

Worst experience with Citiair, i had hard time to change my tickets. I called them many times (Spoke to Paul, Archana, Siva Raj Kumar, Pathan, Prithi, Nijanth and few other peoples) and every time they said, they will call me back or send email in 1-2 hours but i never got response back. After all the pain? I booked new ticket directly with other airline (Paid almost 3X). I will definitely not recommend citiairtravel.

I believed and was booking my tickets…

I believed and was booking my tickets for last 5 years Wirh these guys. During covid time i got to know the clearly its a fraud company. To apply refund/ cancelation due to covid ( flight itself cancelled) they charged additional $25 as processing fee. But no one have minimum ethics to update what's the status. Do not book using citiair. When i send email also no reply.

Citiair Travel

This company, Citiairtravel.com, has repeatedly displayed a total lack of of customer care or concerns for their customers, me included. As an active consumer, I strongly advise that you avoid patronizing Citiair, before enlisting any of their travel services. You have been warned.

Date of experience : March 06, 2020

This is about a recent travel that…

This is about a recent travel that still has to take place. Citiair changed the original itinerary of family's ticket based on input from the airlines. However, in doing so they left one leg of the initial ticket on the revised itinerary. Because of this issue, my family couldn't travel as planned and now we are stuck for the last 6 days waiting for a resolution. No resolution in sight yet.

Date of experience : May 30, 2022

no transparency and they refused to refund fare

Same experience as other customers. $690.00 date change fee charged for 2 tickets with penalty of $500.00 and rest are ticket price changes. Due to Covid-19 the flights got cancelled and I contacted Singapore airlines to refund the penalty plus price difference, they agreed but these guys refused and they didn't put a request for refunding the penalty and price difference. I have been a customer with them for many years, this year I have decided that this is final transaction with them. Bye bye citiair.

Date of experience : June 24, 2020

Worst customer experience. Zero rating is the best

Worst customer experience ever in requesting for a refund. These guys dont know the process of ticket refund . When we ask them for a follow up , their folks promise to call back and never respond. Please do not book thru them and get the money wasted . I have talked to each and every person in the customer service and i have the recording of the how everyone treats the customer handy.

Citi Air is not ready to cancel my PNR…

Citi Air is not ready to cancel my PNR unless I pay money through Zelle. Air India is ready to give full refund but Citi Air does not want to support because they want me to pay $330 (Each ticket $110). In the COVID19 pandemic time INDIA/USA suggesting to not to travel but Citi Air says that they do not want to initiate the refund unless I pay $330. I wish i can give zero rating. Never do bookings with Citi Air. I am going to complain to Consumer bureau and Better business Bureau.

Book through airlines, but not with citiairs. I booked a ticket from Charlotte to hyd(round trip) , while going back the ticket is like (Hyd -->boston and boston to Charlotte). SOmehow the domestic flights has been cancelled from Boston to Charlotte. And citiairs saying they cannot do anything now. I wish I would have booked the tickets directly with Emirates and Emirates would have do something to me.

Very very bad customer care service

Very very bad customer care service. We booked tickets to India in Feb’20 to travel in June. But flight were canceled by airlines due to COVID-19 situation. But Citiair is not ready to give money refund even we are entitled for full refund. And giving all nonsense reasons. I am thinking for ways to file a complaint like consumers protection cell. I will never ever buy tickets from CitiAir at all, the same will be done from my friends.

They are just a scam please don't book via them if you need peace of mind and good service. They have only caused pain in our travel experience, they will not pick up the call or respond when you want to cancel the ticket and then they will talk nonsense if you ask for explanation.

I can only use Foul language to describe CITI AIR Travel.I had a very bad experience with this fraud company, who says they mention fake information and clauses on website like other agency do. There is a very rude supervisor BHARATHI not sure if that is a true identity ,who was very rude in responding. My flights are cancelled at the last minute and they were not even responsible in choosing the alternate flight. if you book the tickets with CITIAIR travel you will be the end sufferer. This Agency is not fit to maintain company standards. It is a utter crap and the Manager or supervisor BHARATHI is a complete nonsense.

International travel

This was my second time experience with Citi Air to book flight ticket to Mumbai and I had very good experience with them. Specially I want to say thanks to Mr. Bhoobal. His attitude was so helpful, politely and responsible. He has very good patience to understand customer requirements. One recommendation, All ladies staff should be trained and responsible. I would definitely recommend Citi Air Travel to my friends. BR Rama

Customer Service bwahahaha!

If you would like to book a flight for your son, daughter, friend or loved one but won't be travelling with them forget it with this outfit. They must have a serious fraud problem as they will not make a booking without sending a myriad of emails and the problem is yours. They take no responsibility. Extremely rude customer service "yeah like...." For a few dollars more I chose another company that was much faster, efficient and trustworthy. Hate to diss the subcontinent but when it comes to customer service, they've still got a lot to learn.

WORST Customer service Post Ticket booking

I had been booking with this company for several years and never had issues until the most recent one. I never had to call them after tickets were booked but this time I had the worst experience dealing with some agents like Archana Perumal, who have absolutely no sense of any customer service extremely rude. I am NEVER going to recommend this company or book with them again. I am posting this on Facebook as well & as many platforms possible

Beware of Fraud Travel Agent named CITIAIR TRAVEL

This was an extremely harrowing and unpleasant Experience because of these guys. I booked a ticket long back in earlier October and they did not inform about the Canadian transit visa requirement for transiting through Toronto for temporary USA visa holders and Indian residents. As a travel agent they should have been well informed and aware of all these rules and should have made me aware.. Air Canada did not let me check in and they booked me in another flight with more than the original expense I incurred for the first aircanada-United round trip ticket(1125$) and the new ticket costed me 1295$. They did not refund a single penny... Because of them only I had to go through all those troubles and harassment. Beware of this ultra fraud scam super cheat travel agent called citi air travel...

AVOID CITIAIRV TRAVEL..Worst Customer service. I have been a long term customer and booked close to 10 trips. But this time while I was trying to do a ticket date change, I was following for almost 30-45 days. Till now issue is not dolved. Per Lufthansa policy, this return ticket need to be booked before Jan-31-21 else it will be cancelled. Since Dec-05-21,I was following withe Citiair agents with emails and multiple phone calls.Today it's Jan-27 and just 1 more weekday left to book the ticket. I am having sleepless night here and staying awake waiting for their call. UNBELIEVABLE....WORST NIGHTMARE..AVOID CITIAIR TRAVEL

Be aware of this fraud travel agency and never book with them.

Like other card issuers such as American Express , Capital One and Chase , Citi® maintains a travel portal through which cardholders can book hotels, rental cars, flights and activities. Whether or not this is a good idea depends on how you travel.

Let’s take a look at the Citi ThankYou® travel portal, how it works and who can access its booking features.

  • The Citi ThankYou travel portal offers flights, hotels, rental cars and activities.
  • Eligible cardholders can earn elevated rewards on bookings through Citi travel.
  • The Citi ThankYou travel portal provides access to extra hotel benefits via the Luxury Collection and the Hotel Collection.

How to book travel through the Citi travel portal

Booking travel through Citi’s portal is simple. First, you’ll want to navigate to the Citi ThankYou travel portal website . You’ll be prompted to sign in with your online account and choose which Citi card you’ll be using to book your travel. Once signed in, you’ll be directed to the travel portal’s home page.

citiair travel albany usa

From here, you can choose what type of travel you’re looking to book, whether that’s a hotel, flight, rental car or activity.

For example, if you were looking to book a hotel through the Citi ThankYou travel portal, you’d simply need to enter your destination, dates of travel and how many people you’re traveling with.

citiair travel albany usa

The portal will then pull up a page showing all the results that match your search. You can also check out what properties are available by using an interactive map. The search includes a long list of filters by which you can sort properties, including star rating, neighborhood, cancellation options, bed type, property amenities and hotel brand.

Once you’ve selected the travel you’re looking for, you’ll be taken through the checkout process. This includes providing personal and payment information, like your frequent flyer number for a flight.

Note that you’ll need to use your eligible Citi card to pay for your booking. It’s also during checkout that you can decide whether or not you’d like to redeem your Citi ThankYou points.

Once you’ve completed your booking, you’ll receive a confirmation email. You can also find your upcoming bookings within the travel portal via a drop-down menu in the upper right corner.

citiair travel albany usa

Who can use the portal?

The Citi ThankYou travel portal is available to cardholders who have the following Citi cards :

  • Citi Premier® Card * The information for the Citi Premier® Card has been collected independently by Blueprint. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
  • Citi Rewards+® Card * The information for the Citi Rewards+® Card has been collected independently by Blueprint. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
  • Citi Double Cash® Card * The information for the Citi Double Cash® Card has been collected independently by Blueprint. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
  • Citi Custom Cash® Card * The information for the Citi Custom Cash® Card has been collected independently by Blueprint. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
  • Citi Prestige® Card (no longer open to new applicants).

Is the portal worth using?

The Citi ThankYou travel portal isn’t always the best way to book your travel. This is because it doesn’t offer a best-price guarantee, so the pricing you see on the portal may not reflect the lowest available prices.

There may also be an issue if you book hotels or rental cars through the Citi ThankYou travel portal and want to receive any elite status benefits. Generally speaking, hotel and rental car companies exclude third party bookings from elite status perks. This also means you won’t earn any bonus points or elite status credit from your bookings.

However, any flight you book through the Citi ThankYou travel portal will earn miles and will also be eligible for elite status benefits. But, if your plans change, you’ll need to negotiate with Citi travel rather than directly with the airline for your flights.

That being said, Citi heavily rewards those who choose to book within its travel portal. Depending on which card you hold, you can earn up to 10 Citi ThankYou points per $1 spent on eligible bookings through the travel portal (through June 30, 2024).

How to maximize your Citi travel benefits through the portal

Although the Citi ThankYou travel portal may not provide the best prices, there are two key benefits it offers that provide serious benefits. The first is the ability to book certain tickets and attractions through the portal.

This includes tickets to popular amusement parks such as Universal Studios Orlando.

citiair travel albany usa

Eligible cardholders can easily redeem their Citi ThankYou points for theme park tickets using this method. Those who hold the Citi Premier Card can also earn 10 points per $1 spent through June 30, 2024.

The second key benefit is that the Citi ThankYou travel portal offers access to the Luxury Collection and the Hotel Collection. Those with a Citi Prestige Card or a Citi Premier Card can book both of these options. The Luxury Collection mimics elite status benefits at high-end hotels and can provide room upgrades, a $100 experience credit, complimentary breakfast, late check-out and more.

The Hotel Collection is available to all cardholders with access to the Citi ThankYou travel portal. Its benefits include daily breakfast, free Wi-Fi, early check-in and late check-out.

Quick guide to Citi ThankYou Rewards

Citi ThankYou Rewards can be earned from a variety of different credit cards, as we noted above. These points can be highly valuable, especially when they’re transferred to Citi’s hotel and airline partners. This is generally considered to be the best way to use your Citi points since you can score outsized value when redeeming your points for reward redemptions.

Other ways to redeem Citi ThankYou points include:

  • Online shopping.
  • Gift cards.
  • The Citi ThankYou travel portal.
  • Donations.
  • Statement credits.
  • Cash.

You’ll always want to do the math before redeeming your points. For example, you’ll receive just one cent in value when redeeming your Citi points via the ThankYou travel portal, while choosing to transfer your points to a partner can yield a much higher value.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Yes, it’s possible to book a flight and use your Citi points to pay. There are a few different ways to do this. The first is to transfer your points over to any of Citi’s airline transfer partners. You can then make an award redemption for a flight.

The second is to book your flight using the Citi ThankYou travel portal and redeeming your Citi points to pay for it. This has the advantage of still earning airline miles on your ticket, but it doesn’t necessarily represent the best value for your points.

The third is to purchase an airline ticket using your card and then redeeming points as a statement credit. This last option typically provides the least value and should only be used in limited circumstances.

Citi ThankYou points can be redeemed in a variety of ways, including transfers, gift cards, statement credits and more. To do so, you’ll want to navigate to Citi’s ThankYou redemption site . Once you’ve signed in to your account, you’ll be able to redeem your points online.

Like many of the best credit cards , Citi has 14 airline transfer partners, including:

  • Air France/KLM
  • Turkish Airlines
  • Qatar Airways
  • Virgin Atlantic
  • Thai Airways
  • Singapore Airlines
  • Qantas Airways
  • Cathay Pacific

You can also use your Citi ThankYou points via the travel portal to book flights with many different airlines.

While it’s not necessary to tell Citi if you’re traveling internationally, it may be a good idea. Setting up a travel notice lets your bank know that you’ll be out of town. This, in turn, can help avoid your card being declined or flagged for fraud on unfamiliar charges.

If you’re booking travel on Expedia’s website, the only way to redeem your points is as a statement credit. You’ll first want to pay using your Citi card. Then, you can redeem those points against the purchase to wipe it away.

*The information for the Citi Custom Cash® Card, Citi Double Cash® Card, Citi Premier® Card and Citi Rewards+® Card has been collected independently by Blueprint. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Porter has played in three career games for the Atlas, making 22 saves.

Jake Pulver
