The National Park of Isla Contoy is located 30 km to the north of Isla Mujeres where the transparent water of the Caribbean Sea joins the Gulf of Mexico. Ixlaché Reef to the south of Contoy, indicates the beginning of the second largest Reef of the world, the Great Mesoamerican Reef. Enjoy a relaxing trip in a comfortable boat with the best service around as specialized bilingual guides provide you with all the information about the natural life that inhabits this beautiful island. Frequently Asked Questions
The departure is about 9 am. If you are staying on Isla Mujeres the meeting time is 8:40 am at our office in downtown. If you are staying on the mainland we have pick up at Punta Sam at 9 am some days. Most of the times after picking up our customers from Isla Mujeres we do a short stop at Punta Sam dock that is only 10 min away from Isla Mujeres to pick up part of the group.
About 45 minutes plus a half hour stop at Ixlache reef for snorkeling if the weather allows it.
Yes and lifejackets are mandatory as a rule of the National Marine Park
Not in Isla Mujeres. If you are on the mainland I can arrange ground transportation from your hotel for an extra fee
No, we recommend to bring your own or use contact lens.
Not really as you will be using a lifejacket all the time and our experienced guide will be in the water with you.

In fact, Isla Mujeres is closer to Isla Contoy so the boat ride is shorter. This tour leaves at 8:30 am from the dock downtown Isla Mujeres. The travel time to Isla Contoy is around 50 minutes. You will be able to enjoy from 2 to 3 hours on the island and be back around 3 pm.
