South Coast Jet Ski offers tours of the South Coast and the Jurassic Coast. We operate from Poole, Dorset and Ocean Village, Southampton. Both of our tours offer something completely different. Poole tours show you all of the sights of the South Coast including Old Harry Rocks, Studland Bay, Sandbanks and Brownsea Island to just name a few! Our Ocean Village tours show you the sights of the Solent and the Southern Water and are located in the best place to follow up with some drinks at one of the nearby offerings. Each of our tours are 1.5 hours and includes a full safety briefing and time to get ready, we always guarantee 60-70 minutes out on the water. All of our instructors have extensive watersport instructor experience and are all PWC qualified and follow guidance from the RYA. So you know you are in safe hands with us. Jetski Safaris offer an excellent introduction to jet skiing. Their organized “safaris” give you an opportunity to learn to ride a jet ski whilst under the watchful eye of a professionally qualified instructor. At the beginning of the experience you will receive instructions how to drive the jet ski and when you feel comfortable at being in control then you will be led on a guided tour within Poole Harbour and out on the open sea along the Jurassic Coastline. Group size varies from 1-6 people per instructor with a maximum of 2 people per jet ski. You can decide to ride solo or take a friend so you can share the drive. Jetski Safaris will provide all the safety equipment including buoyancy aid, helmet & wetsuit. All you need to take is some swimwear and towel. Allow around two and a half hours for the experience although the actual time spent on the water varies between one to one and a half hours depending on group size. Jetski Safaris also offer a more comprehensive one day RYA Personal Watercraft (PWC) training course from £160 per person.

 EXPLORE the STUNNING DORSET coast

Our Poole tour sets off from Baiter Park. You get towed out to the open waters where you will then get to take control of the jet ski. You will pass Brownsea land (the largest island in Poole Harbour and a National Trust Site due to its vast wildlife), Sandbanks, Studland Bay and the famous world heritage site, Old Harry rocks. You will get the opportunity to take photos to make your memories permanent before we loop around and head back to Poole Harbour.

Everything you need to know:

• Are there any age restrictions? You must be aged 18 or over to drive a Jet Ski by yourself. However, anyone over the age of 8 can ride as a passenger. As they are accompanied by an adult, they can also drive the Jet Ski.
• How long will my tour last? Each tour lasts 90 minutes. This includes briefing and time to get ready. We guarantee a total of 60-70 minutes on the water.
• Where do we go on the Jet Skis? Our Poole location takes you on a tour around the famous world heritage site which is ‘Old Harry Rocks’ on the Jurassic Coast. Your tour sets off from Baiter Park which is positioned just a 20-minute drive from the popular Bournemouth beach – a real hotspot. Bournemouth beach has been ranked amongst the best 25 beaches in the world, according to Tripadvisor’s 2021 Travellers Choice awards. Book today and come and see for yourself.
• What should I wear? We provide wetsuits and buoyancy aids on arrival. All you'll need to bring is swimwear and a towel to keep warm. We recommend arriving in swimwear before hand.
• Do I need previous jet ski experience? Not at all! In fact, the majority of our customers are first-timers. We offer full training and will provide you with a safety briefing which completely covers how to use the controls and ride a Jet Ski safely. Don't worry, you're in safe hands.
• Is there parking on site? Yes - for a small fee we have parking situated a short distance from where we operate from.
• How many people can go on a session? At South Coast Jet Ski, we follow the RYA guidelines for hire-ski to instructor ratio, which is 3:1. This means that we are able to accommodate up to six riders per standard session. We do run sessions with larger groups of up to 12 people as we have another fleet of Skis. Please call us to find out more.
• Do I need a license or previous experience to hire a Jet Ski? No! You will always be accompanied by a fully qualified PWC instructor when on the tour. You don't need a license or previous Jet Ski experience.
• Do I need a reservation? Yes. Due to the high demand, you will need to book your tour in advance. This can be done via the booking page on our website.
• Can I bring my phone with me to take pictures? Of course! Each Ski has a shockproof compartment to store your phone. It is requested that you do not attempt to use your phone while operating the Ski, and riders are reminded that bringing personal belongings on the water is done so at their own risk. There will also be a photo opportunity, where the instructor will offer to take pictures on their own device and send them to you should you wish.
• Do I need to be able to speak English? Yes. You will need to be able to speak and understand English so you can understand how to ride the Jet Ski safely, conforming to our guidelines.
• What is your policy on cancellations and refunds? In the event of bad weather including floods, storms, heavy seas state, strong winds or unforeseen circumstances, South Coast Jet Ski have the right to terminate sessions and will offer another date, voucher or refund. A cancellation made by the client must be notified to us 48 hours prior to the tour and a full refund will be permitted.
• Is there a safe place to leave my personal belongings whilst on a tour? Yes, if required your belongings may be left in the our hut. which will remain locked during the session. South Coast Jet Ski are not responsible for any items which may be lost or damaged.
• Can the rider and passenger take turns driving? Yes, there will be plenty of opportunities for riders to change positions. The instructor will advise on when, and how to do this.
• Is there a maximum weight capacity per ski? Yes, there is a maximum weight capacity of 272kg per Ski.

Personal Watercraft are incredibly exhilarating and what could be better than blasting along the ocean taking in the sights with the sun warming your back! 

Although they are very rewarding, they are also very fast and need to be handled with care. That’s why we are now offering RYA PWC Proficiency Courses to ensure you are getting the best from your jetski and understand how to act responsibly on the water. 

Whether you would like to increase your confidence on your own jetski or on one of our tours, our courses will give you all the tools needed to enable you to feel safer on the water, giving you peace of mind and more enjoyable ride! 

Requirements & Outcomes

Pre-course experience : None

Assumed Knowledge:  None 

Courses Content: Launching, handling and recovery skills, passage planning and decision making, high and low speed riding skills, essential safety information, collision avoidance and orientation at sea

Ability after the course:  Self-sufficient in good conditions, aware of limitations of self and craft

Minimum Duration:  1 day

Minimum age:  12. Certificates for children aged between 12 and 16 will be endorsed to show that they must use PWs only under the supervision of a responsible adult
