Y’know, is there any more pointless attribute for a musician to have than cool? Think about it, a musician can be as talented as anyone around, as nice as anyone could possibly want and a performer par excellence. If they’re not *cool*, however, then there’s still going to be a bunch of witless fools sneering at their every move and feeling a sense of smug self-righteousness about it, as if they’re providing a pop-cultural service by kicking against artists whose crimes are nothing worse than not making them feel like a member of some club that no-one else can join. Make no mistake, dear reader, James Morrison is not cool. His sound is one that’s extremely accessible, nothing to scare the horses, and easier to find on the top forty than in Sister Ray Records. If that alone is going to count someone out of catching him live, then it’s their loss, cos they’ll be missing something very special indeed. The Rugby, Warwickshire native cut his teeth busking on street corners about two blocks south of the middle of nowhere and playing pubs where people were more likely to request Hotel California than listen to any of his actual songs. This trial by fire means that with nearly a decade of touring experience behind him, Morrison is a natural frontman. He stalks the stage switching between his frontman duties and playing the guitar he made his name on, all the while singing with his astonishing voice. It’s as low key and laid back as a set of songs inspired by losing one’s father can get, and Morrison is an inspired host, taking us through a soul inflected journey through his recent life and experiences, while never failing to send us back into the night with a smile on our faces. It’s not hip, it’s not fashionable, but it’s damn good music that deserves to be experienced live.

Was a good different experience being in Somerset House, didn't rain which was even better! Great venue, not ram packed, friendly staff.
James was a great performer & the band fantastic. Played some great tracks including a few oldies which was lovely.
Missed the support act as running late at work.
Only downside for me was so many in crowd having conversations, I just wanted to listen to the music but hey that's the trade off & more noticeable outside than if indoor gig.
Overall though really enjoyed it & would definitely see again
It was a magnificent performance by James Morrison and his team of musicians and singers. No criticism at all. I was very glad to have a seat to sit in at the New Theatre Oxford as opposed to other venues where standing for 2 hours nearly killed me. But the rapport with the audience was less electric. Nobody's fault just its harder for the artist to get the audience going. The support act Ferris and Sylvezter were good too.
Awesome concert! James is very charismatic and oozes sex appeal! Such a unique voice and better live on stage! Played all his hits and more and he gave it his all for the 1 1/2 hour show. Loved, loved, loved, thank you James.
Great concert!
Intense but still direct into your heart.
Great Sound in Vega Copenhagen, you Got every word and people was dancing and singing with James.
5 starts from me :)
Amazing show as always , unfortunately this time we were on level 3 so sound quality wasn't that great , Had a good view from balcony, can't wait for next show
Just a great show, like listening to him on a CD, fab love to go to another show. Better than the Pink show at Wembley ? So different all about the songs

Australia’s jazz giant James Morrison is back with a blast
Off the back of a string of performances in Europe and following a hugely successful Australian tour last year, world-renowned trumpet maestro James Morrison will tour the country this summer with his phenomenal big band.
Born in a rural farming community in New South Wales, James has earned a global reputation as a jazz legend and trumpet virtuoso. He is a regular performer at some of the world’s major jazz festivals and clubs. He was the first Australian to work with jazz icon Dizzy Gillespie, who himself described James as “one of the best”, and has worked with other stars of the genre including Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, B.B. King, and more.
