I received these Beats Tour 2.0 headphones as an impulse gift from my boss before Christmas a few years ago.  I was waiting for him to purchase something at a Verizon store and commented that I needed some new headphones as my previous ones (Bose MIE2i) had been eaten by my Roomba vacuum cleaner.  He said, "Pick something," and that's how I ended up with the Beats Tour 2.0s.  I chose them because they had a flat cable and I was sick of tangles; because I thought Beats were decent headphones; because they had a number of tips and flange options and I've had difficulty getting earphones to stay in my ear in the past; because they had a decent style; and, because there wasn't much else to chose from in the category.  Oh, and they were free, did I mention that?   Accessories, Comfort, & Isolation Included accessories consist of a zippered soft-shell carrying case (which is quite nice), a shirt clip, and a range of tips (single and triple, S, M, L of each) and flanges (S, L), which is helpful to finding a better fit.  However, for me, none of the tip/flange combinations ever felt right.  If I could get a good seal with a tip, it wouldn't stay in my ear.  If I'd use the flange to keep it in, I'd no longer get a good seal.  This is a longstanding problem for me - earphones not fitting and staying in my ear.  I finally read about Comply tips and ordered some for the Beats Tour 2.0.  The Comply tips immediately solved both my fit issues - they would stay in my ear and provide a good seal.  However, the Comply tips are not super comfortable to my ear (TSx-400s) which was disappointing, but it's only been a couple weeks, maybe they will improve with time, or my ears will get used to it.   With the stock tips I had to compromise isolation to get them to stay in my ear, and thus the isolation was very poor.  The Comply tips provide much nicer isolation and, as discussed below, much better sound.   Build Quality & Design This is probably the place the Tour 2.0s shine.  The shells are made of a hard plastic, the cable is made of flat rubber, and the jack is a 90 degree small profile jack.  I was, and still am, very impressed with the build quality.  I am pretty hard on things and these have stood up to my abuse.  I use these walking around, skiing, biking around town, mountain biking, etc... They are my on-the-go headphones and they've surpassed my expectations in the build quality area.    The cable is one of the best, and worst, parts of the Tour 2.0.  I really enjoy the look and feel of the flat rubber cable, and it has never even come close to tangling.  It rests nicely against a shirt and has a decent weight to it as well.  The massive downside is that any movement of the cable you will hear in your ears, even more so with the Comply tips.  The microphonics are alleviated somewhat by using the shirt clip, but because the cord cinch is below the remote/mic, there is still plenty of rustling in regular movement.   Speaking of, the remote & mic are also very nicely designed and built and perform well.  I've never had any problems using the mic during calls and the remote functions as it should to control a phone.   The jack is worthy of a separate note here.  The jack is very, very small, one of the smallest I've seen, and also very low-profile.  This allows the headphones to be used in a variety of smartphone or DAP cases without an adapter.  Further, the 90 degree bend makes the phone/DAP seem a little smaller in the pocket, and also limited exposure of the jack to snapping off.     I think, on the whole, these are a very well built and nicely designed set of earphones.   Sound Quality With the stock tips, there is an overwhelming amount of forward, but muddy, bass.  The low end completely drowns out the mids and highs, and utterly lacks detail.  It is nice and forward though, you definitely feel it's there.  But it distracts from every other area of the music, in my opinion, and I can't say much else beyond that.   With the Comply tips, and better isolation, the bass tightens up quite a bit, allowing the mids and highs to come forward a bit more.  This is still, by all means, a bass heavy headphone, but with the Comply tips the bass is no longer totally overwhelming, and the mids and highs are allowed to resolve a bit more forward.  Even more benefit can be had by EQing the bass  slightly  down, but then again, I am not a basshead.  Even without EQing, one should be able to get much more detail from the mids and highs using the Comply tips that was simply lacking with the stock tips.   I found the soundstage to be slightly improved with the Comply tips as well, though still pretty small and definitely within the head.     Value In the end I have kept these for awhile and will keep them going forward, but I'm glad I did not pay $149 for them.  They make a fine earphone to walk around, do chores, work outside, and exercise with.  But I have purchased some other earphones and will continue to look for improved sound and comfort.  If you can find them for under $100 (I'd say $75 would be a nice price point for these) and you prefer a bass centric sound, they might do you well.  But at $149, there are other earphones that will outperform these at that price point and sound signature (Vsonic GR07BE is one that is oft-recommended, though I have not heard them).   Because I'm new here and this is my first review, I couldn't post pictures, but pics can be found here:  https://flic.kr/p/r3eLUq https://flic.kr/p/rGDrdE https://flic.kr/p/rEUT6x

These were my first foray into the world of headphones, and my first (and last) experience with Beats. Out of the box, the one earpiece did not function at all. I had to hold the cable at the y-split a certain way for it to work. The sound was bass-heavy but OK for my -then- average consumer knowledge of headphones. I bought them for 175 Euro from Saturn Germany, and couldn't get warranty service because I had lost the receipt (even though I didn't imagine that they would be broken). I read around on the internet, and many people had such broken earpieces out of the box. It's a real shame, because these do indeed feel sturdy and beautifully built - the plastic feels high-quality and so do the cables and accessories.

Build Quality In this category I was very surprised, I've roughed these earphones up quite a bit; and I've even nearly stepped on them, but they still work. The cable is decently sized I wish that the cable was thicker like the previous version. But overall on build quality these are built pretty damn well.   In The Box This product comes many accesories. They come with many ear tips so you could get the perfect fit for however size your ears are. They also come with "wings", their main purpose is basically have a better fit in your ear without having the earphones falling out. They fit quite snug when you're listening to music. I've always loved the way Beats audio packages their products, they always make you feel like you've bought a million dollar product. So for this section I would have to give a 10/10 for accesories.   Comfort Alright   Isolation Great, can't hear anything when i'm listening to music with these on.   Sound Now this is where things slide a bit, I'm pretty sure that you all know the reputation that beats offer in their sound section in their products. The bass on these earphones are very impactfull, and agressive. Is it necessarily bad? No, if you listen to hip-hop or electronic music these will suit you quite well. Now the treble on this headphone is quite metallic sounding, and quite high pitched on high volumes. It gets to the point where your ear starts to hurt. So treble isn't the best. The mid frequencies on this headphone is "meh" alright, they're not very detailed, and dont really sparkle. Now is the sound on this earphone, no not necessarily. It really fits the person who listens to hip-hop or electronic music. But if you like instrumental music, then these aren't the earphones for you, like i said they aren't very detailed. So the sound on this product is decent.   Value For what your getting with this product, this doesn't really meet up to my expectations FOR VALUE. The earphones are decent but they're not worth the price.   Overall Now do I reccomend this product? Well it really depends on what genre you listen to. But for me I wouldn't reccomend this since I feel like you could get better for the price you're paying for this product alone. There are definately better alternatives then beats out there on the market.

muffled pair of earphones, iem’s. you are only throwing your money way with these as you can get really excellent heaphones, earphones for same money. and not as if you can show off with theses, they are small, they are not headphones. no one notices you have beats earphones cause these are small, they are not headphones. only with headphones you can show off but not with earphones. easier to get good sounding earphones. the only good thing about these is descent bass but it is exaggerated. the mids and highs are muffled, not even a good dac saves them. they are point blank period muffled pair of earphones.   to sum up the only reason i don't sell them is because they have a good microphone for phone. here are two video reviews of the earphones. fist video is after using them for a while, the other two videos are the first videos when i got them.   Beats tour 2 review part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKMsDy6OABc   beats tour v2 earphones review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY3nyGXXmcU   beats tour v2 part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo-5rFu8lIM

This new version of tour is slightly better than the old ones. The bass part is less than the first version and I can tell Beats started to care about the sound quality. But still, everything else don't go very well on this earphone. It is still closed, make people dizzy. Still, I think we can get better sound quality earphones in this price other than Beats Tour.

Before inserting the Tour headphones, it is important to turn down the volume on your music player to a comfortable level. 3. Take note of the "L" and "R" markings on the side of each headphone. The "L" is for the left ear, and the "R" is for the right ear. Make sure to insert the correct headphone side in the corresponding ear for the best listening experience. 4. Using your right hand, hold the right headphone. 5. With your left hand, gently pull up and back on your right ear to straighten your ear canal. 6. Carefully insert the right headphone, starting with the rubber eartip, ensuring that it seals completely and comfortably in your ear. Avoid inserting the eartip too deeply, as it may make your ear canal feel completely "plugged." 7. Repeat the same procedure for your left ear, using your left hand to hold the left headphone. 8. Sound Quality: Proper insertion ensures that the headphones are positioned correctly in your ears, allowing for optimal sound quality. When the headphones are inserted properly, the audio is delivered directly into your ear canal, enhancing the clarity and detail of the music. 2. Noise Isolation: Correct insertion helps to create a seal between the eartips and your ear canal, which helps to block out external noise. This improves the overall listening experience by reducing distractions and allowing you to focus on the music. 3. Comfort: Inserting the headphones correctly ensures a comfortable fit. When the headphones are positioned properly, they sit securely in your ears without causing discomfort or falling out during use. 4. Safety: Proper insertion can help prevent potential damage to your ears. By positioning the headphones correctly, you can listen to your music at lower volumes while still enjoying the full audio experience. What are the potential risks of listening to the Beats Tour headphones at excessive volume levels?

Listening to the Beats Tour headphones at excessive volume levels can pose potential risks to your hearing. Here are the potential risks: 1. Hearing Damage: Exposing your ears to high volume levels for an extended period can lead to permanent hearing damage. The sensitive structures in your ears can be damaged by loud sounds, resulting in hearing loss or tinnitus (ringing in the ears). 2. Noise-Induced Hearing Loss: Continuous exposure to loud music through the Beats Tour headphones can cause noise-induced hearing loss. This type of hearing loss is gradual and cumulative, and it may not be immediately noticeable. Over time, it can affect your ability to hear sounds at lower volumes. 3. Reduced Speech Clarity: Listening to music at excessively high volumes can also affect your ability to understand speech. It can make it difficult to hear conversations or other important sounds in your environment. 4. Increased Risk of Accidents: When you listen to music at high volumes, you may not be able to hear important sounds around you, such as traffic or alarms. This can increase the risk of accidents and injuries. To protect your hearing, it is recommended to listen to music at a moderate volume level and take regular breaks from headphone use.

How do I select the right eartips for the Beats Tour headphones?

To select the right eartips for the Beats Tour headphones, follow these steps: 1. Start by trying out the different sizes and designs of eartips included with your Tour headphones. The eartips are crucial for achieving good sound quality, better isolation from outside noise, increased bass response, and overall comfort. 2. Begin with the smallest eartip and insert it into your ear canal. Make sure it fits comfortably and creates a good seal. The eartip should not feel too loose or too tight. 3. If the smallest eartip does not provide a satisfactory fit, try the next size up. Insert it into your ear canal and assess the comfort and seal. 4. Continue experimenting with different sizes of eartips until you find the one that fits your ear canal comfortably, provides a good seal, and stays in your ears without falling out. 5. Additionally, you can also try different styles of eartips to see which works best for you. Some people may find certain styles more comfortable or effective in achieving a secure fit. By following these steps and experimenting with the various eartips provided, you can select the right eartips for your Beats Tour headphones, ensuring a comfortable and optimal listening experience.

Beats Solo 4 Wireless Headphones Review

Beats Solo 4 Wireless Picture

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless are the next generation of the Beats Solo3 2019 Wireless . While Beats is more so known for its premium products, these cans sit as a lower-end option for those who prefer an on-ear fit. They maintain all their predecessor's sleek, colorful design elements but with some small improvements, like a built-in digital-analog converter (DAC), USB-C audio support, and Android quick-pairing. However, if you've been waiting for a successor to the Beats Solo Pro Wireless , you may be disappointed, especially since this fourth-gen model doesn't support active noise cancelling (ANC).

Our Verdict

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless are very good for neutral sound. These on-ears differ greatly from Beats's bass-heavy reputation over the years. They're fairly neutral, with a balanced bass range to provide adequate thump, punch, and boom. Vocals and instruments sound clear in mixes, while the extra treble makes them sparkle. Unfortunately, this added top-end also makes mixes a bit fatiguing to listen to. Even though they only support basic Bluetooth codecs, you can use them via analog or wired USB to stream high-quality audio.

  • Well-built and decently comfortable.
  • USB audio available.
  • No sound customization features.

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless are fair for commute and travel. They're a little bulky but lightweight and can fold into a more compact shape, allowing you to store them in their carrying case. They're also decently comfortable and last over 48 hours continuously, which will be more than enough for long days on the go. Unfortunately, they don't have noise cancelling, and as a result, they struggle to block out background noise like the rumble of plane engines.

  • Long-lasting battery life.
  • Poor noise isolation.

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless are decent for sports and fitness. They're lightweight, stable on-ear, and have a decently comfortable fit. Using them wirelessly also helps reduce the chances of something snagging the headphones off your head. Plus, they come in a couple of different colorways, so you can stand out at the gym. Unfortunately, they don't have an IP rating for water resistance, but that's not uncommon for on-ear headphones.

  • No IP rating.

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless are okay for office use. These flashy cans have a decently comfortable fit and have a long enough battery life to get you through your week without needing a recharge. That said, they have a few caveats: they don't have ANC and struggle to passively block out background noise like talkative coworkers. They don't support multi-device pairing either, so you can only stay connected to your PC or smartphone, not both.

  • No multi-device pairing.

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless are Bluetooth-only headphones. Their latency is too high to be used for this purpose unless you like lipsync mismatch.

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless are decent for wired gaming. Using them with their analog cable will only give you audio support, but you can passthrough audio and mic signals with their USB cable. Their neutral sound is well-suited for dialogue-centric gameplay like party banter or instrumentals like sweeping cinematic cutscenes. That said, they lack the utility of customization features found on dedicated gaming headsets. Their integrated mic also offers a disappointing overall performance.

  • Disappointing mic performance.

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless are sub-par for phone calls. They have an integrated mic, but it does a disappointing job as a whole. Your voice lacks depth while also sounding muffled. If you're taking a call in a noisy environment like a busy office, background sounds can also compete for attention over your voice. These on-ears also lack noise cancelling, so you'll hear a lot of what's happening around you—that's not ideal if you're easily distracted.

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless come in a few different colorways: 'Matte Black,' 'Slate Blue,' and 'Cloud Pink.' We tested the Slate Blue colorway; you can see our model's label here . If you come across another variant of these headphones, let us know in the forums, and we'll update our review.

Compared To Other Headphones

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless are the 2024 successor of the Beats Solo3 2019 Wireless , and while nearly five years have passed since the last update, the most significant change is in their sound. They're a lot more neutral sounding, which fans of Beats' previous bassy offerings may find a tad disappointing, but it's a win for those looking for something more balanced. Like the Beats Studio Pro Wireless , they also have a built-in DAC and support USB-C audio, so you can listen to high-quality, lossless audio. One Touch Pairing and Quick Pair replace the H1 chip as well, so it's still simple to connect the headphones to your iOS or Android device. Unfortunately, if you were hoping to upgrade from your noise cancelling Beats Solo Pro Wireless , you may want to hold off since the Solo 4 don't have an ANC system.

Check out our picks for the  best on-ear headphones , the  best headphones for running , and the best wireless Bluetooth headphones .

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless are the next generation of the Beats Solo3 2019 Wireless with a couple of updates in performance. While both on-ears look pretty similar (colorways aside), the fourth-gen have a much more neutral sound profile with a tapped-down bass that's less boomy and muddy than their predecessor. They also deliver more treble, which makes vocals and instruments bright to the point where they can be fatiguing to hear over long listening sessions. Although they don't have a W1 chip, they support quick pairing with iOS and Android devices. They have a longer continuous battery life, too. They even support Apple's Spatial Audio feature for a more immersive sound experience.

The Beats Studio Pro Wireless are the over-ear counterpart of the Beats Solo 4 Wireless, which are on-ear headphones. Both have a neutral sound, but only the Studio Pro have a couple of EQ presets when using their built-in DAC via USB. The Studio Pro also have noise cancelling and can block out a good amount of ambient sound so that you can focus on your audio. However, the Solo 4 are cheaper and offer similar levels of comfort and build quality.

The Beats Solo Pro Wireless and Beats Solo 4 Wireless have different strengths, and depending on your preferences, you may like one of the other. The Solo Pro have the edge over the newer Solo 4 if you're looking for noise cancelling. Only the Solo Pro have an ANC system, and they do a significantly better job of reducing ambient sound around you. They also have an H1 chip for seamless pairing with iOS devices, though the Solo 4 support their own quick pair feature with both iOS and Android. That said, the Solo 4 support Spatial Audio and can be used via analog or USB in addition to Bluetooth. Their battery life is longer, too.

The JBL Live 670NC Wireless offer more customization and extra features than the Beats Solo 4 Wireless. While both on-ears are similarly comfortable and well-built, the JBL have companion app support, including a parametric EQ and presets, and they have ANC. While it does a mediocre job of blocking out background noise, it's still better than the Beats' passive capabilities. They also support multi-device pairing and have a significantly longer continuous playback time. However, the Beats have a more neutral sound profile, which some users may prefer, and can also be used via wired USB.

Test Results

perceptual testing image

Beats put a lot of emphasis into design language, and it shows throughout their products. The Beats Solo 4 Wireless' colorful rounded frame feels playful, while their monochromatic colorways help them stand out against the sea of black and beige competitors. The manufacturer's logo is embossed on both ear cups, while the hinges are made of brushed steel to give it a more refined look. They're available in three different colorways, including 'Slate Blue' and 'Cloud Pink' as well as 'Matte Black' for those who want to keep the flashiness to a minimum.

Beats Solo 4 Wireless Comfort Picture

These on-ears have a decently comfortable fit. Their ear cups don't clamp quite as tightly as their predecessor, so they don't feel as fatiguing when worn for long listening sessions. The silicone headband is pretty grippy and can tug at your hair if you're playing with the fit. There are also a few parts of the headphone that can catch errant hair—the hinges, as well as the space behind the yoke, can pull out long flowing tresses if you're not careful.

Beats Solo 4 Wireless Controls Picture

These headphones have okay controls. They're mostly found on the left cup and are integrated into the Beats logo. The center 'b' button handles your basic playback commands, while the outer circle is a volume rocker. The right ear cup also has a power/Bluetooth pairing button. For a full list of commands, you'll want to check out the user manual here . It's worth noting that Apple's own user manual for these headphones states that the power button is on the left cup. It's on the right cup.

Overall, the controls are easy to locate and use. The buttons are also clicky. There are chimes for turning the headphones on and off, but that's about it.

Beats Solo 4 Wireless Portability Picture

These headphones are somewhat portable. Thanks to their hinges, they can fold inwards to help conserve space. They're still bulky, and if you put them in their carrying case, they'll take up room in your bag or purse.

Beats Solo 4 Wireless Case Picture

They come with a good carrying case made from a durable woven fabric, which feels thick and tough. There's a zipper to help keep the headphones safe inside. Inside the case is a soft lining material. There isn't any internal compartment to keep the cables separate from the headphones, though. You can see how these cans fit into their case here .

Beats Solo 4 Wireless Build Quality Picture

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless have a good build quality. They're mostly made of plastic but with brushed metal accents, particularly on the hinges, which make a satisfying clicking sound when you're adjusting the fit. There's also silicone padding on the bottom of the headband to keep the headphones in place, as well as a silicone rubber jacket to cover the cable. The ear cups also have a supple faux leather padding, but it's a little stiff. The previous model's hinges were prone to damage over time and could fail. We don't know if this model will experience those same issues, but it's something to know when manipulating these headphones.

Beats Solo 4 Wireless Stability Picture

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless have a stable fit. They won't move around if you're enjoying your music on the go, but if you want to headbang to your favorite tunes or wear them during tough workouts, they can fall off your head.

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless deviate from the classic bassy sound seen in past iterations. Instead, they're much more neutral sounding and are closer in response to the Beats Solo Pro Wireless . They have extra treble to make vocals and instruments sound bright and detailed, making them a solid choice for listening to content like podcasts or folk music. All this treble can be harsh and fatiguing over long listening sessions. If you crave the boomy, rumbly sound from predecessors like the Beats Solo3 2019 Wireless , you may be disappointed. But, if you're willing to give them a chance, they still deliver a pleasing bass for most kinds of audio content. Unfortunately, there are no sound customization features available.

Although we tested their sound using Bluetooth, you can check out this graph to see how they perform with different connections. There isn't a difference in frequency response when it comes to analog vs Bluetooth vs USB. It's worth mentioning that the headphones have a built-in DAC that lets you play lossless audio from your phone or computer via USB-C, though. If you're taking a call, the headphones will sound different, though. You'll lose out on bass and treble, making your audio sound more hollow and dull.

These headphones' frequency response consistency is excellent. On-ear headphones can be a little finicky if you want a consistent sound since they're sensitive to how they're placed on your ears. That said, the overall deviation is still fairly low, so as long as you take the time to ensure a good fit, you'll receive more consistent sound.

These headphones have outstanding bass accuracy. Unlike older Beats products, they have a flat and neutral response in this range. As a result, they can reproduce satisfying thump, rumbly, and boom, but not to the extent that it drowns out or muddies vocals and instruments.

Their mid accuracy is great. The response in this range is tilted towards the treble, so vocals and instruments like guitars and pianos are full-bodied but are a bit boxy-sounding. In songs like Obsessed by Olivia Rodrigo, her voice in the chorus is pushed forwards, sounding harsh as well as a bit honky.

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless have decent treble accuracy. The response is overemphasized in this range, so vocals and instruments are bright to the point that they're harsh. Sibilants like cymbals are also piercing. Overall, all this extra treble can be fatiguing to hear, especially if you're listening to audio for long periods.

These headphones' peak-and-dip performance is great. Across the bass to mid range, the headphones can control their sound profile quite well, with a couple of small deviations. A dip in the low-mid thins out vocals and instruments a bit, while a peak in the high-mid brings out their clarity. Another peak in the low treble further emphasizes the detail in vocals and instruments before dipping in higher registers, dulling these sounds. A big spike in the mid-treble makes sibilants like hi-hats piercing.

The imaging performance of these headphones is outstanding. While we've tested a few Beats products with imaging issues, the Beats Solo 4 Wireless are a solid indication of the manufacturer's quality control and ergonomics. It's worth mentioning that imaging varies between units, though. Our unit's L/R drivers are well-matched in group delay, which ensures tight bass and transparent imaging. Additionally, the headphones are well-matched regarding amplitude, frequency, and phase response, so sound objects like voices and instruments are accurately placed in the soundstage.

The passive soundstage performance of these on-ears is poor, but that's to be expected from on-ear headphones. Unlike over-ears, they have reduced interaction with your outer ear, which needs activation by sound to give you a more out-of-head soundstage. Instead, sound feels like it's coming from inside your head, and the soundstage itself seems narrow. Since they're closed-back headphones, they also have trouble creating an open and spacious sound.

Beats Solo 4 Wireless Virtual Soundstage

If you're an iOS user, you can access Apple's Spatial Audio. You can turn on/off head tracking via the volume Control Center, which allows audio to follow your head movements. If you're an Android user, you can use Dolby Atmos, though you'll need audio formats that support this feature.

The weighted harmonic distortion performance is very good. There are a couple of peaks at moderate volumes, including in the bass and treble ranges. While it can affect the purity of your audio, distortion is difficult to hear unless you're an astute audiophile.

These are the settings used to test these headphones, and our results are only valid when used in this configuration.

These headphones have a poor noise isolation performance, but that's to be expected from passive on-ears. Unlike the Beats Solo Pro Wireless , they lack noise cancelling and aren't designed to block out sound. As a result, you'll hear much of the low rumble of traffic to colleagues at the office chatting to the high-pitched hum of computer fans.

While there's a bump above zero in the bass range in our Noise Isolation - Full Range graph, this is produced only when used on our test rig. You won't experience this in your day-to-day use.

Like with Full Range noise isolation, the Beats Solo 4 Wireless won't block out much of common scenarios like traffic on a busy street or the ambient sounds of an office either.

There's also a bump above zero in the bass range in this Noise Isolation graph, which appears only when used on our test rig. You won't experience this in your day-to-day use.

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless have a decent leakage performance. Most of their leakage is concentrated in the treble range, which sounds thin. That said, if you like to jam out to your tunes at high volumes, others around you will hear it.

These on-ears have multiple beamforming mics, but our rig can't test them to their fullest potential. That said, these mics have poor recording quality. Your voice really lacks depth and body. At the same time, speech is a bit muffled and distorted, making it harder to follow your voice. You can only use the mic via either Bluetooth or wired USB, as analog doesn't support mic pass through.

The integrated beamforming mics' noise handling performance is sub-par. Our rig can't test these mics to their fullest extent. However, in our test, these mics had a hard time separating speech from background noise. If you're taking a call in a busy street or office, the sound around you is also loud and present in the call, but it doesn't completely overpower your voice.

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless' battery performance is excellent. The manufacturer advertises 50 hours of continuous playtime with the volume at 50%, and we measured a similar amount. They also have a Fast Fuel feature, where charging the headphones for 10 minutes gives you up to five hours of playback. Luckily, if you're short on battery life and need your headphones ASAP, you can use them while charging or even use them passively with their analog cable.

Beats Solo 4 Wireless App Picture

If you have an iOS device, you'll get a built-in pop-up that displays basic information like your battery level, firmware, and app version, as well as links to more general information. You can also access Find My Beats if you lose your headphones, and there's a single control you can remap: you can change the mute/unmute and end call control from one press to double press, which isn't much. You can't disable them either or have both set to the same command.

If you're an Android user, you'll have to download the Beats app, but you'll get all these same features.

Beats Solo 4 Wireless Cable Picture

These headphones include a 1/8" TRS cable and a USB-C to USB-C cable. Both can be used for audio, though using the USB cable will result in a little more latency than analog. It isn't very noticeable unless you're working on something delay-sensitive.

The Beats Solo 4 Wireless have great Bluetooth connectivity. Although they lack an H1/W1 chip found in the Beats Solo Pro Wireless and thus don't support multi-device pairing within the Apple ecosystem, they have quick pairing support for both Android and iOS devices. They can also use the Audio Sharing feature on the iOS platform, allowing two compatible devices to stream audio from the same Apple device.

They're sparse on codec support. You'll have access to the two codecs: SBC and AAC. SBC has somewhat high latency, so if you're using it, you'll notice that your audio and visuals are out of sync. If you're looking for high audio quality, you'll want to consider using the headphones via their USB-C connection instead of Bluetooth.

These headphones can be connected to your PC wirelessly via Bluetooth with full audio and mic support. If you want to use them via analog, you'll only hear audio (and can't use the mic), so if you're looking for a full-rounded performance, use the USB-C cable instead.

You can plug the Beats Solo 4 Wireless into your PlayStation controller's AUX port for audio support. However, you can only use the USB cable for full compatibility on the PS5. The volume is very quiet, and you need to connect the cable to the console, not the controller, which makes this method very unwieldy.

You can plug their analog cable into your Xbox controller's AUX port for audio support.

Beats Solo Buds

Beats solo buds launching on june 18 with 18-hour battery life for $79.

Avatar for Chance Miller

Alongside the launch of the Solo 4 headphones last month, Apple’s Beats brand also announced a very intriguing new Beats Solo Buds product . The company has now confirmed that Beats Solo Buds, with their remarkable 18 hours of battery life, will be available for order on June 18 for $79.99 and launch on June 20.

Beats Solo Buds: Everything you need to know

Side note: If you’ve been thinking about buying Beats Solo 4, they are currently on sale for $149.99 on Amazon. That’s a $50 discount compared to their usual price point.

As a refresher, the Beats Solo Buds feature a truly wireless design with an in-ear fit. They come with four ear tip sizes (XS, S, M, and L) and offer “passive noise isolation.” They feature a custom Beats chip inside that enables one-touch pairing across both iOS and Android. There’s also integration with Apple’s Find My network as well as Google’s Find My Device network.

Each Beats Solo Bud earbud features a ‘b’ button that you can use to control playback, answer calls, and activate Siri. Like with other Beats headphones and AirPods, the function of the ‘b’ can be customized in the Settings app.

beats tour beats

In terms of sound quality, Beats Solo Buds feature a dual-layer transducers design, which the company says will “minimize micro-distortions across the frequency curve” to deliver “high-fidelity sound with uncompromising clarity and detail.”

The Beats Solo Buds will also offer “exceptional call quality” thanks to the custom-designed microphone with an “advanced noise-learning algorithm” in each earbud.

Beats Solo Buds battery life

The most impressive feature of Beats Solo Buds, however, is battery life. Beats claims that Beats Solo Buds will offer up to 18 hours of battery life from the buds themselves. You read that right: that’s 18 hours of battery life from Beats Studio Buds themselves – not including a charging case of any sort.

In fact, the case included with Beats Solo Buds doesn’t feature an integrated battery. Instead, when you want to charge Solo Buds, you place them in the case, then connect the case to a USB-C cable.

I haven’t had a chance to test Beats Solo Buds yet, so I can’t vouch for the 18-hour battery life claim. If that holds true, though, it’s an incredible feat. Stay tuned to 9to5Mac for a full review of Beats Solo Buds in the coming weeks.

Beats Solo Buds will be available in four colors: Matte Black, Storm Gray, Arctic Purple and Transparent Red. You can order them starting on June 18 from Apple and authorized resellers. The Arctic Purple colorway will be exclusive to Apple and Target.

Are you planning to place your order on June 18? Let us know down in the comments.

Louisiana beats Texas 10-2 to advance to regional championship against Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Bryan Broussard and Jose Torres each hit home runs and combined to drive in seven runs and Louisiana unloaded in the eighth inning to beat Texas for a 10-2 win in the Bryan-College Station Regional of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (41-19) advance to face Texas A&M later on Sunday in the championship final. Louisiana needs the win to force a game Monday where the winner advances to the super regional.

Holding a 2-1 run lead entering the top of the eighth, Louisiana sent 10 batters to the plate, generated six hits and scored seven runs with the majority of the damage coming with two outs.

With two down and runners at first and second, Torres smacked the first pitch over the left field wall for a 6-1 lead. Earlier in the inning, John Taylor drove in Kyle DeBarge who started the inning with a base hit and then later advanced to second on a wild pitch. Broussard added a three-run homer to all but end the Longhorns’ season.

Duncan Pastore went 3 for 3 with an RBI for Louisiana and Torres was 3 for 5.

Kimble Schuessler, Casey Borba, Rylan Galvan and Will Gasparino each collected two hits for Texas (36-23).

Caglianone and Shelton have 4 RBIs apiece, Florida beats Nebraska 17-11 at Stillwater Regional

STILLWATER, Okla. — Jac Caglianone hit a go-ahead three-run home run in the bottom of the second inning and Florida led the rest of the way as the Gators beat Nebraska 17-11 in an elimination game at the Stillwater Regional. The Gators play Oklahoma State in the finals. Florida would have to beat the Cowboys twice in order to win the regional championship. Caglianone finished 2 for 4 with a double, a home run, four RBIs and four runs. Colby Shelton went 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs for Florida. Gabe Swansen and Joshua Overbeek each hit a two-run home run for the Cornhuskers. The game was delayed nearly 2 hours by inclement weather.

Iga Swiatek beats Naomi Osaka in French Open classic

PARIS, FRANCE - MAY 29: Iga Swiatek of Poland plays a backhand against Naomi Osaka of Japan in the Women's Singles second round match on Day Four of the 2024 French Open at Roland Garros on May 29, 2024 in Paris, France. (Photo by Mateo Villalba/Getty Images)

For more than five months, Naomi Osaka as been rumbling around women’s tennis like a volcano waiting to erupt.

During the early evening Wednesday, that eruption came.  With her biggest triumph in years, Naomi Osaka lost to world No 1 and three-time defending champion Iga Swiatek at the French Open on May 29.

That might sound counterintuitive, or even like a mistake.

Days ago, beating Swiatek on the red clay of Roland Garros seemed like a task too tall for anyone. Few even considered that Osaka, less than a year after giving birth, with little success on clay, would stand a chance.

A four-time Grand Slam champion in her own right, Osaka has shown promise during the first five months of her comeback from maternity leave, but she had yet to beat a player even close to Swiatek’s caliber. After taking the world No 1 to a tiebreak, she had no answer to Swiatek’s precision, honed with more than 100 weeks at the top of the rankings, and lost it 7-1.

But showing all the fight, power, and skill that had brought her to the top of the game three years ago, Osaka mounted a stirring comeback, pelting balls onto the lines and into the corners to lead Swiatek, 6-7(1), 6-1, 5-2 under the roof on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

This was the Osaka that for a three-year stretch from 2018-21 bullied opponents, sending them sprinting fruitlessly across the baseline and pointlessly giving chase to her blasting groundstrokes, or leaving them standing motionless and helpless to watch them fire into the tarp at the back of the court.

Naomi Osaka, The Comeback Interview: A tale of pregnancy, fear and a ballerina

This was the Osaka who stood in the middle of the court with the presence of an all-time great, who competed on every point, who smacked her thigh as she waited for serves to come, letting her opponents know that they were coming right back at them.

“It just felt really incredible, the atmosphere,” Osaka said a little while after it was done.

“I cried when I got off the court, but then, I realized I was watching Iga win this tournament last year, and I was pregnant. It was just my dream be able to play her. When I kind of think of it like that, I think I’m doing pretty well,” she said.

“I’m also trying not to be too hard on myself. I feel like I played her on her better surface. I’m a hard-court kid, so I would love to play her on my surface and see what happens.”

Nine months after giving birth, and nearly three years after first letting everyone in on her struggles with regulating her mental health, she is on the verge of becoming a major force in her sport, and probably all sports, once more.

Since 2020, for all but one day, Swiatek had basically done that at Roland Garros, and on most other clay courts, but for the thigh smacking. She tried on Wednesday, to no avail, because the woman on the other side of the net was doing it better than she could. This wasn’t a simple blow-out: Osaka showed the kind of resilience that made her such a tough champion, relying on her serve to get out of the incredible pressure that Swiatek places on her opponents. Osaka saved break point after break point, often with the help of a serve and a fearless, whipping, wristy forehand that were lethal once more. When Iga Swiatek gets more than 10 break points in two sets against just about anyone on tour, the result is a 6-0 6-1 pasting.

Osaka started loosely, spraying balls long and wide and fell behind midway through the first set. But she soon found her groove and drew even. She was a point away from stealing the first set but just missed a backhand. Then Swiatek found her own groove in the tiebreak, winning seven of eight points. This is the moment when most of Swiatek’s opponents go away, wilting as she embarks on a kind of tennis that looks like she is playing downhill.

Osaka refused. She trusted her game. She started playing downhill, and it was Swiatek who went away, almost.

Osaka was on the verge of sealing the match on her serve at 5-3 in the third set, before missing a series of shots in the front of the court, or darn near close to it. Swiatek saved a match point, then let Osaka’s errors bring her back on serve. A game later, it was 5-5.

“I honestly didn’t believe I could win,” Swiatek said. “But it didn’t change the fact that I just tried to do work to play better. I actually managed to be more focused at the end of the match, which went pretty badly, you know. In the first and second set I felt like I’m not completely in the zone.

“When I was under the biggest pressure I was able to switch that, and maybe that made the difference.”

Osaka said she no regrets about how she played, but for one. Two points from victory with Osaka serving in the third set, she stayed back on Swiatek’s return, rather than trying to jump on the ball and seize control.

“That’s the only thing I kind of regret,” she said. “Other than that, I’m kind of taking it as a process.”

For five months, Osaka’s tennis has been getting closer and closer to where it was. The only thing that has been missing is her ability to execute in tight spots, and here, it deserted her again — understandably. There is no way to replicate the intensity of a battle in a Grand Slam against the world No 1 on a practice court in California. The only way to learn how to do it — or in Osaka’s case, to relearn it — is to do it, over and over.

For nearly two hours, she had come up with all the darting serves and lashing forehands and backhands she needed. But when she needed them most, she couldn’t find them. And Swiatek, who has been doing this month after month for the past two years, or at least getting chances to, found nearly all of hers.

A killer cross-court backhand winner brought her to match point, and then she watched Osaka send one more backhand long.

The match stretched well past the scheduled 8:15 start of the night session match between Jannik Sinner and Richard Gasquet. Thousands of fans stood in the pelting rain, unable to get into the stadium because of the rules that prohibited them from taking the empty seats vacated by people who left early.

They missed a classic, for little reason at all.

Virginia (43-15), the No. 12 national seed in the NCAA Tournament, will play the St. John’s-Mississippi State winner in the regional finals. The Cavaliers will have two chances to defeat the Red Storm or Bulldogs, starting at 6 p.m. Sunday. St. John’s and MSU will play an elimination game at noon Sunday.

Bobby Whalen, who was 0 for 6 in the regional, hit a ground ball up the middle that bounced off second baseman Amani Larry’s chest. Didawick, a Western Branch High graduate who had advanced to third on a fielder’s choice, scored the game winner standing up.

Eric Becker hit a two-run triple in the second and a tying two-run single in the seventh for the Cavaliers.

Mississippi State (39-22) took a 3-2 lead in the third with Hunter Hines’ three-run home run. In the fourth, Bryce Chance hit a single, stole third and scored on a throwing error to make it 4-2.

UVA starter Evan Blanco went six innings, giving up four runs on eight hits and struck out seven. Jurrangelo Cijntje pitched seven innings for the Bulldogs, allowing four runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. Cijntje is a rare ambidextrous pitcher, but he stuck as a right-hander through his outing.

St. John’s 10, Penn 9 (12 innings):  Anthony Brienza’s two-strike, two-out single in the bottom of the 12th inning eliminated the Quakers (24-25).

Luke Orbon drew a two-out walk, stole second and scored on Brienza’s single to center field, advancing the Red Storm to a matchup at noon Sunday against Mississippi State.

St. John’s ((38-17-1) led 6-2 before Penn scored seven unearned runs in the seventh inning to take a 9-6 lead. The Red Storm fought back with a two-run home run by Jackson Tucker in the eighth and a tying home run by Jimmy Keenan in the ninth.

Raleigh Regional

James Madison 8, Bryant 1:  Hunter Entsminger and three relievers scattered eight hits as JMU won an elimination game.

JMU (35-24), in its first NCAA regional since 2011, bounced back from a disheartening 10-inning defeat to South Carolina to eliminate the Bulldogs (36-21) from Smithfield, Rhode Island. The Dukes will play another elimination game Sunday against the Gamecocks.

Entsminger found out about 20 minutes before the game that he’d be making his first start of the season. threw 5 2/3 innings, allowing four hits and no runs. He struck out seven without any walks. Jackson Logar, Joe Vogatsky and Sean Culkin finished. In all, JMU’s four pitchers struck out nine and walked one.

JMU junior Fenwick Trimble, a Cox High graduate, doubled in classmate Ryan Dooley in the first inning before scoring on Jason Schiavone’s single. The double marked Trimble’s 20th of the season, becoming the second Duke to ever post back-to-back 20-double seasons.

JMU’s Mason Dunaway, from Hickory High, was 1 for 2 with a walk, a sacrifice bunt and an RBI.

North Carolina State 6, South Carolina 4:  Eli Serrano III and Garrett Pennington combined for five runs, five hits, and three home runs to lead the Wolfpack.

N.C. State (35-20), the No. 10 national seed, improved to 2-0 in the tournament. Serrano finished 3 for 5. Pennington hit two early home runs and later was walked twice.

Dylan Brewer hit two home runs for South Carolina (37-24).

Serrano singled and eventually scored in the seventh.

Matt Heavner led off the eighth for the Wolfpack with a bunt single and advanced to second on Serrano’s groundout. Pennington was intentionally walked, and Heavner scored on a throwing error by catcher Dalton Reeves to end the scoring.

Greenville Regional

Evansville 17, VCU 11:  Brent Widder’s grand slam was one of four home runs for Evansville, and the Purple Aces reached the championship round of the Greenville Regional with a wild victory over the Rams.

Evansville (37-21) needs one win to take a regional championship trophy back to Indiana. VCU (38-22) will play an elimination game against regional host East Carolina (44-16) on Sunday, and Evansville will play the winner later in the day.

The Purple Aces led 13-0 through their half of the fifth inning, thanks in large part to a seven-run fifth that included Widder’s grand slam and a two-run homer from Cal McGinnis.

However, VCU got a two-run home run from Casey Kleinman and a solo shot from Chris McHugh in the bottom of the fifth, igniting a three-inning rally that would eventually put the tying run on deck in the seventh inning.

The Rams trailed 15-5 when they came to bat in the seventh, then they loaded the bases with two outs. Eli Weisner scored on a third-strike wild pitch, and the bases remained loaded for William Bean, who belted a grand slam.

Now trailing 15-10, VCU loaded the bases again, but Weisner grounded out to end the inning. The Rams grounded into double plays to end the eighth and ninth.

Brandon Eike went 5 for 6 for VCU, and Kleinman was 4 for 6 with three RBIs.

East Carolina 7, Wake Forest 6: Luke Nowak’s bases-loaded hit in the bottom of the ninth delivered the winning run as ECU eliminated the Demon Deacons.

Wake Forest — once a preseason No. 1-ranked squad — saw its season end at 38-22.

The Pirates led 4-1 through eight innings, but five relievers surrendered five runs in the ninth. The bullpen’s effort was in stark contrast to the 7 1/3 innings pitched by starter Trey Yesavage, who struck out six and surrendered just one hit.

Facing a 6-4 deficit, the Pirates sent eight batters to the plate to generate three runs for the win. After RBI singles by Jacob Jenkins-Cowart and Dixon Williams, Nowak singled through the right side to score Williams with the winning run.

Williams batted 3 for 4 with a home run, scored twice and drove in four runs for the Pirates.

Real Madrid beats Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in Champions League final, earning its 15th European Cup

Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior celebrates victory

LONDON — In an explosion of gold and silver confetti, Real Madrid held aloft the Champions League trophy for a record-extending 15th time on Saturday.

The most familiar sight in European club soccer’s greatest competition felt as fresh as ever after a 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley Stadium.

“Getting used to it? Never,” said Carlo Ancelotti, who extended his own record of wins as a coach to five. “The dream continues.”

A white wall of Madrid fans at one end of the stadium serenaded their conquering heroes after goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior sealed the victory.

A predictable result came in less than predictable circumstances after Dortmund dominated the chances in the first half.

“It was a very difficult game, much more difficult than we had expected,” Ancelotti said. “We changed things because in the first half we were a bit lazy.”

Carvajal headed Madrid in front in the 74th minute and Vinicius doubled the Spanish giant’s lead nine minutes later.

Ancelotti’s fifth Champions League title was his third with Madrid and two more than his closest rivals Zinedine Zidane, Pep Guardiola and Bob Paisley.

Carvajal, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Nacho won the trophy a sixth time to equal the benchmark set by Madrid icon Paco Gento.

Madrid’s win comes just a year after Manchester City lifted the trophy for the first time, a victory many believed would herald a new era of dominance for Guardiola’s team in Europe. Instead, it was Ancelotti who underlined his case to be considered the finest coach of his generation for his continued supremacy in the Champions League.

As well as three titles with Madrid, he was a two-time winner with AC Milan.

Madrid’s dominance of the competition defies belief, having won more than double than anyone else. Milan is the second most successful club with seven.

“This is the love story between Real Madrid and the European Cup. Players come, players go, but we can say that this is our competition,” Madrid president Florentino Perez said.

Dortmund paid the price for not making the most of its first half superiority when Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois pulled off a series of saves and Niclas Fullkrug hit the post.

Madrid took full advantage after the break when Carvajal met Kroos’ corner at the near post to power a header past Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel.

Vinicius fired past Kobel to make it 2-0 and raced off in celebration after his goal killed off Dortmund hopes of pulling off one of the biggest Champions League upsets in recent memory. Later, Vinicius celebrated and posed for selfies with rapper Jay-Z, who was in the crowd of 86,000.

For a long time, the German side looked capable of halting Madrid after dominating the chances in the first half.

Coach Edin Terzic tactically outmaneuvered Ancelotti in every department, and Madrid’s stars were subdued.

Only a combination of Courtois and the frame of the goal kept the scores level at the break after the keeper twice kept Karim Adeyemi from scoring and then watched as Fullkrug’s sliding effort came back off the post.

“There was the momentum when the game turned around and you see why they are the champions of this competition,” Terzic said. “We couldn’t manage to score and that was the key why we didn’t manage to win the game.”

Box Office: ‘Garfield’ Beats ‘Furiosa’ in Another Bummer Weekend

“ The Garfield Movie ” clawed its way to first place, overtaking last weekend’s champion “ Furiosa : A Mad Max Saga” at the domestic box office.

Popular on Variety

“This weekend is another example of a lineup disrupted by the pandemic and labor strikes. It takes 18 to 24 months to plan, produce and market the biggest movies, so it’s going to take another year to get past this inconsistency,” he says. “There is no way around it.”

Without a major new release to invigorate the box office, holdover titles — such as Paramount’s fantasy comedy “IF” and Disney’s “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” — rounded out box office charts.

At No. 4, “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” collected $8.8 million from 3,450 theaters in its fourth outing. So far, the fourth chapter in the “Apes” reboot franchise has earned $140 million in North America and $337 globally. It’s currently the fourth-highest-grossing movie of the year, but its ticket sales aren’t close to reaching the lofty heights of its series predecessors: 2011’s “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” (481 million), 2017’s “War for the Planet of the Apes” ($490 million) and 2014’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” ($710 million). The newest entry carries a hefty $160 million price tag, so “Kingdom” is decently positioned in its theatrical run but needs to keep playing on the big screen to get into the black.

Universal’s action-comedy “The Fall Guy,” starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, rounded out the top five with $4.2 million from 2,826 theaters in its fifth weekend of release. The PG-13 ode to stunt performers has generated $80.2 million domestically and $157 million worldwide to date. However, “The Fall Guy” cost $140 million to produce (and theater owners get to keep about 50% of ticket sales) so the film hasn’t quite recovered from its disappointing debut in May.

Elsewhere, Sony/ Crunchyroll’s manga adaptation “Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle” was one of several arthouse titles that debuted in fewer theaters than the traditional nationwide offering. It opened in sixth place with a so-so $3.5 million from 1,119 venues. Though anime has developed a devoted following at the domestic box office, these movies are bigger draws overseas, where “Haikyuu” has earned $75 million.

Another newcomer, IFC’s gory slasher “In a Violent Nature,” landed at No. 8 with $2.1 million from 1,426 locations. Chris Nash wrote and directed the well-reviewed film, observed from the perspective of a killer who targets a rowdy group of teenagers in the Canadian wilderness. This marks the second-biggest box office debut for IFC Films following this March’s “Late Night With the Devil” ($2.8 million).

In ninth place, Bleaker Street’s “Ezra,” a family comedy starring Robert De Niro, Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale, collected just $1.18 million from 1,320 theaters. Critics have been mixed on the movie, which follows a divorced stand-up comedian (Cannavale) who embarks on a road trip with his autistic son.

Garfield took No. 1 slot away from Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga in theaters this weekend after losing the Memorial Day weekend box office by a whisker .

According to estimates from Sony Pictures Entertainment, The Garfield Movie topped the domestic box office with an estimated $14 million in its second weekend in theaters. Per Sony, the Columbia Pictures/Alcon Entertainment-produced Garfield ’s estimated domestic total through Sunday is nearly $51.6 million.

Adding in the film’s international box office take of $100.3 million, Garfield has made nearly $152 million worldwide to date.

After going toe-to-toe with Garfield last weekend, Warner Bros.’ Furiosa is now in battle with Paramount Picture’s IF for the No. 2 slot. According to The Hollywood Reporter , Furiosa earned an estimated $10.75 million at the domestic box office over the weekend, while IF took in an estimated $10.8 million over the Friday to Sunday frame.

Of course, Furiosa could end up with the No. 2 slot once the final numbers are tallied. If the estimates hold up, IF’s running take domestically will be $80.4 million while Furiosa’s through Sunday is $49.6 million. Adding in the international box office tallies for both films, IF has earned $138 million worldwide while Furiosa has taken in $114.4 million in global ticket sales.

Finishing at No. 4 at the weekend box office is Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes , which, according to THR , earned an estimated $9 million to boost its domestic tally to $140 million.

Released on May 10, 20th Century Studios’ Kingdom has the distinction of having the biggest opening of the summer movie season to date when it scored $58.5 million over its debut weekend at 4,075 theaters.

Including ticket sales overseas, Kingdom has earned $337.1 million worldwide to date.

Despite its quick transition to digital streaming , Universal’s The Fall Guy took the No. 5 slot at the domestic box office with an estimated $4.2 million in ticket sales, per THR . The film’s domestic tally stands at just over $80 million domestically. Adding in its international ticket sales, The Fall Guy has earned $157.9 million globally so far.

Another Sony Pictures Entertainment film, Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle, made it into this weekend’s top 10 at the domestic box office in its debut weekend. A product of Sony’s Crunchyroll studios, the anime feature took the No. 6 slot with an estimated domestic take of $3.5 million.

While the box office was sluggish this week, things should liven up on June 7 when Sony’s Bad Boys: Ride or Die with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence opens. The film marks the big-screen return of Will Smith, who has been persona non grata in Hollywood and with fans since the Chris Rock slapping controversy at the Oscars in 2022.

The final numbers for the weekend box office will be released Monday.

Syracuse, NY – Brett Baty hit two home runs a combined 836 feet, and Joey Lucchesi pitched five scoreless innings en route to a Syracuse Mets 7-1 win over the Buffalo Bisons on Sunday afternoon at NBT Bank Stadium. With the victory, the Mets split the six-game series against the Bisons.

Syracuse (34-22) struck first in the bottom of the second inning. With one out, Rhylan Thomas and Carlos Cortes both singled to put runners at first and second base. Yolmer Sanchez followed with a single to center field, scoring Thomas for a 1-0 lead. Cortes moved to third base on the hit and scored on a Joe Hudson RBI groundout for a 2-0 edge.

In the third, the Mets used two powerful swings to extend the lead. First, Baty led off with a 416-foot home run to center field off the batter’s eye to give Syracuse a 3-0 advantage. Two batters later, Luke Ritter crushed an opposite-field homer over the right-field wall to make it a 4-0 ballgame.

Syracuse starting pitcher Joey Lucchesi was awesome. The left-hander pitched five scoreless innings while allowing only one hit and striking out a season-high six batters.

Buffalo (30-27) broke the shutout in the top of the eighth. With one out, Spencer Horwitz hit a solo home run to right field to trim the Syracuse lead to three, 4-1. This is the second consecutive game Horwitz homered in, following up his five-hit day on Saturday.

The Mets ended the game on a high note. In the eighth, Cortes powered a ball more than 400 feet to right field for a solo homer that regained Syracuse’s four-run edge, 5-1. Later in the frame, with two outs and Luisangel Acuña on first, Baty demolished a ball over the Salt City Deck in right field for a two-run home run that went 420 feet, giving the Mets a 7-1 lead.

After an off day on Monday, Syracuse begins a six-game road trip in St. Paul, Minnesota on Tuesday against the St. Paul Saints. Right-hander Blade Tidwell is slated to start on the mound for the Mets. First pitch is at 8:07 p.m. Eastern Time.
