Hello I am a NZ citizen currently holidaying in Thailand. We are a family of 3 adults and 2kids - flying to Da Nang on the 17th January 2024 and staying until the 27th January at a resort in Da Nang. Then flying home to NZ..Are we able to get a tourist visa on arrival at the Da Nang airport? Or do I have to apply online beforehand as have been given conflicting information . Thankyou any help/assistance is appreciated

@Amanda Dawson, you cannot obtain a visa directly upon arrival at a Vietnam airport. Therefore, you will need to secure an approval letter for a visa-on-arrival, or alternatively, apply for an e-visa in advance.

Hi! I am a Canadian passport holder and will be traveling to Vietnam on January 6th (in 8 days) for a duration of 3 months. Which visa do you advise me to apply for? My final destination is Phu Quoc island and I read somewhere that some airports do no accept e-visas? However, I will first land in Ho Chi Minh where I will connect to another flight to Phu Quoc, so maybe I can sort out the visa there? Any information will be helpful, thank you in advance!

Hello, you can apply for a 90-day e-visa. Entering through Ho Chi Minh City airport is fine for e-visa holders, even if Phu Quoc is your final destination. Both airports accept e-visas.

I’m an U.S. citizen but currently living in Thailand can I get a VOA without having an E-visa?

we are arriving on a cruise ship and applied for the wrong visa (Evisa instead of stamp visa). My partner had a service do his and they put the wrong information in for him. Should we reapply for the stamp visa on arrival in HCMC?

We are two UK people citizens and we plan to enter Vietnam using the visa waiver (max 45 days). Do we need to pay a stamping fee?

The stamping fee is only applicable for visa on arrival. If you are entering with a 45-day visa exemption, there is no fee requirement.

Can I apply for a visa for more than 20 people? I plan to take a group of students (20 max) plus two chaperones (so 22 people).

@JACQUELINE E SUTTON, Yes, that is fine. There is no problem with applying for 20 applicants on their behalf. However, if you apply on the official website, you can submit one application at a time.

Are multi-entry E-visa's being accepted on Mekong river cruises? We start in Hanoi, fly to Cambodia(Cambodia visa) then take the Mekong cruise from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh with the crossing from Cambodia back to Vietnam on the Mekong river at the "Chau Doc Crossing". Will the E-visa be accepted here? Thank you!

@Deb, River crossing borders are not included in the eligible entry/exit points for an e-visa. However, since you have already received a visa stamp on your passport in Hanoi, it may be possible for you to re-enter Vietnam through a river cruise. We recommend that you contact your cruise operator directly for assistance, as they likely have experience with this matter.

VIETNAM TOURIST VISA FOR INDIAN

Yes,  Indian passport holders need a visa to visit Vietnam . But you do not need to visit the embassy for a visa. Here is how to do it.

Firstly, you need to get a  Vietnam visa approval letter  from one of the immigration approved travel agents like  Visaonlinevietnam.com . This can be done online by visiting their website.

After you have applied for the visa approval letter online, in two or three days the travel agency will email you a letter from immigration department.

You have to print that letter at home and when you reach the airport in Vietnam , you need to show this letter along with your passport and the application form. A stamping fee is charged depending on the type of visa you applied for.

Do remember that, officially this type of  Vietnam online visa  is not Vietnam visa on arrival nor is it called Visaonlinevietnam.com .

  • Step 2: Fill out your personal information on the website and upload a digital copy of your passport and a passport-sized photograph.
  • Step 3: Pay the e-visa fees using any of the supported payment methods.
  • Step 4: After submitting the form, you will be given a registration code.

  • Note: There are a lot of websites that charge extra for the e-visa. Always make sure that you are only applying for it through the official website! The cost of a visa is exactly ₹2,052 ($25), and if you are paying more for it, it’s not the right website.

How much are Vietnam’s visa fees for Indians?

For a visa at the Embassy: 4500 ($55) (valid for 30 days) (single-entry tourist visa)

For a Vietnam evisa: ₹2,052 ($25)

Note: The figures listed above may change depending on when you apply. Furthermore, because there are multiple agents present, the e-Visa fee to obtain the visa letter varies depending on the selected agent.

Can I extend my Vietnam tourist visa?

Vietnam travel visas are usually valid for 30 days. You can, however, choose to renew your visa and extend your stay in Vietnam.

What should I do if I need a visa urgently?

You can contact a travel agency such as Tripver, which may be able to provide an e-visa quickly.

Does my port of entry match what I stated on the application form?

It’s fine if your port of exit does not match, but if your port of entry does not match, you’ll have to do additional paperwork at the airport and pay a $25 visa fee.

Is it necessary to provide the exact date of my arrival on my visa application?

The visa start date should be a few days before you depart from India, not on the date you reach Vietnam. Sometimes airlines won’t allow you to board if the date doesn’t match the date of departure. Furthermore, the departure date you specify on your application is the last day you can stay in Vietnam. If you want to stay longer, you must apply for a visa extension.

Vietnam Tourist Visa for Indians: Warp-up

In conclusion, Vietnam is an intriguing travel destination for Indian tourists, and applying for a visa is a simple procedure. Indian citizens can apply for an e-visa, or an embassy visa. Indian travellers must fulfil the criteria listed above to obtain a visa, regardless of the type of visa they need. With the proper documentation and preparation, Indian travellers can enjoy a memorable trip to Vietnam, filled with culture, history, and natural beauty.
