We enjoy your YouTube videos! We have used many of your dollar store hacks and found them very useful. For example, we buy shower brushes, which helps my husband. The showers are so small, and the brush helps him reach all body areas. At the end of the cruise, we leave it.

Adorable Disney Inspired Beach Cover Up Dresses

Hey Fashionistas! Summer may be winding down in many parts of the world but if you happen to live in a warmer climate or have a trip planned to a tropical destination soon, rocking a bathing suit is probably on your list of things to do! If so, then you will love these adorable Disney inspired Beach Cover Up Dresses by Rainbow Rules .

If you follow our Instagram ( @4disneyfashion) , you may have seen our very own Fashionista, Michelle, wearing the “Mouse Ears Polka Dots Beach Cover Up Dress” in red  on her recent Disney Cruise. Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship is gearing up to set sail and the more we learn about it, the more excited we get !

The Disney Adventure ship will be one of the latest additions to the growing fleet of Disney cruise ships, boasting a home port in Singapore and promises to be quite a stunner. We don’t know much about this ship yet , but Disney just shared a ton of new details!

The Disney Adventure will be one of the newest additions to the ever-growing fleet of Disney cruise ships and Disney’s teasing us with some new information about it! Up until now, we’ve only known scarce details like promises of more MARVEL, Pixar, and of course Disney stories, too.

Beginning next year, families can embark on three- and four-night itineraries that “will be both a journey and a destination filled with endless possibilities for fun the whole family will enjoy.”

There will be lots of new areas aboard the Disney Adventure:

• In the Disney Imagination Garden , journey through an enchanted valley inspired by more than 100 years of heroic and heartwarming Disney stories – from Mowgli exploring the jungle to Moana taming the high seas. This imaginative gathering space will also be home to dazzling performances on an open-air stage.
• At Disney Discovery Reef , travel down to the ocean floor to explore the nautical worlds of “The Little Mermaid,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Finding Nemo” and “Luca” complete with uniquely themed shopping and dining options. Inspired by the expansive world of “Big Hero 6,” San Fransokyo Street will be a bustling family entertainment area featuring interactive games and activities, shops, cinemas and more.
• At Wayfinder Bay , be called by “the line where the sky meets the sea” to a poolside retreat reflecting the Pacific Islands-inspired artistry of “Moana” with some of the most stunning views aboard the Disney Adventure.
• Venture into the enchanted Town Square — a fantastical forest filled with shops, lounges, cafes, restaurants and entertainment venues inspired by the magical kingdoms from “Tangled,” “Cinderella,” “Frozen,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “The Princess and the Frog” and more.
• Heroes will unite at Marvel Landing where Avengers-level adventure featuring thrilling attractions and all-new experience await.
• At Toy Story Place, little ones will pal around with friends from Andy’s Room in a whimsical and interactive water play zone along with different themed food venues.

Plus, Disney confirmed that the Adventure will have “premium concierge accommodations” including high-end shopping, spa, and fitness facilities.

This seventh ship in Disney’s fleet is currently under construction in Germany and, once completed, will have its home port in Singapore . We can expect to see Disney, Marvel, and Pixar stories aboard this new ship.

How my family of 4 spent $10,000 on a Caribbean cruise — and what we'll cut next time even though we had a blast

• My family of four splurged on a seven-night Caribbean cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy .
• We stayed in an inexpensive class of stateroom, but paid $7,000+ to cruise during spring break.
• We didn't watch our onboard spending and money spent on excursions, which quickly added up. 

My family of four – my husband, two teens, and myself – sailed on the Disney Fantasy this spring. Our cruise was seven nights and left from Port Canaveral , Florida, near Orlando.

Our ship stopped in Grand Cayman, Falmouth, Jamaica, Cozumel, Mexico, and Disney's island, Castaway Cay . This was our first time sailing on the Fantasy and our ninth Disney cruise.

Our trip cost just over $10,000. Perhaps surprisingly, this is on par with the higher end of what a family can expect to spend on a seven-night Caribbean cruise: about $270 to $2,600 a person .

Here's a rough look at what we spent:

Cruise: $7,300 (includes interior room, meals, and entertainment)

Excursions: $1,160

Alcohol: $334

Bingo: $152

Here's the value we felt we got and what we might do differently next time.

We got the cheapest room type but would've saved by sailing at a different time of year

Even though we stayed in the cheapest stateroom category — interior cabins — our cruise was still pricey because we sailed during spring break.

We could've saved $3,000 on the cruise if we'd went in September, which is during hurricane season and while school is in session for our kids. In the end, we couldn't justify our sons missing that week of school.

Sadly, there's not much getting around this cost in the next few years. It's hard for us to travel during cheaper times since cruises almost always cost more during spring break, summertime, and over the winter holidays when most kids are out of school.

I don't regret our WiFi or bingo budgets

We bought an intermediate WiFi package for $490 and spent $152 on bingo.

We don't usually spend money on WiFi while cruising, but decided to get a package since this was a longer sailing . This allowed my kids to play their online games at night and me to keep an eye on my inbox.

No one was glued to their device, and even though this was quite a chunk of change, I'd consider it again for a longer cruise like this one.

The bingo turned out to be an OK investment since we won $145 and almost broke even. We usually play at least one round of bingo and usually don't win much, but my kids enjoy it, and it's something we do as a family.

Still, excursions, spa treatments, and drinks added up

We booked excursions in Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Cozumel, and my husband and I had a couple's massage on the beach at Castaway Cay.

We didn't book super elaborate excursions, but costs added up for four people. Even so, I don't regret any of the experiences or the time spent with my family.

We could've cut back on our excursions budget by not booking directly with Disney Cruise Line or finding a spot to snorkel on our own, but I liked the ease and security of booking directly with the cruise line.

We've heard a lot of horror stories lately about cruise-ship passengers getting left behind in ports , and we always figure our odds are better if we're on an excursion arranged by the ship.

Next time, we might cut back on drinks and spa treatments

Since we're limited by when we can travel, we're honing in on alcohol and spa treatments as areas we can spend less money on.

We're not huge drinkers, but my husband and I enjoy having a glass of wine with our dinner and a couple of cocktails on deck or while lounging on the beach at Castaway Cay.

On future trips, we may cut back. When we looked at our bill, we saw that some of the wine we ordered was as much as $18.50 per glass!

And, as much as we loved the massages on the beach, they cost $289 a person (including automatic gratuity). Getting a massage in a beachside cabana while on vacation was super relaxing, but we can get massages at home for a fraction of that price.

Overall, we loved our cruise and have no regrets

The longer cruise with four ports of call was pricier than we realized, and we got a bit of sticker shock when we saw the final bill with our onboard extras.

I don't have any regrets since my family has always been more focused on experiences than stuff : We don't drive fancy cars or wear expensive clothes, but we prioritize nice vacations.

Although we know we need to curb the spending in a few areas and be a little more aware of what things cost when charging things to our room, we came away with fond memories that were worth every penny.

DCL Vacation Protection Plan Questions

• My understanding is that the DCL insurance only covers the cost of DCL-purchased travel (so, not independently arranged air fare, for example). Correct?
• If this is correct, then in the event we miss the cruise due to flight delay/cancellation, we would not be able to claim trip interruption or trip delay, because those are individual protections that will not have started yet. Correct? In that scenario, we would fall back to the cancel-for-any-reason coverage?

Correct Correct and correct -- but you would likely need to submit the claim to the insurance and have it rejected before you are eligible for the DCL -offered future credit.

TYSM @lanejudy for your confirmations! If you (or anyone) can comment on some follow-ups, I am now wondering: If we purchase the DCL Travel Protection Plan, is this the correct sequence in a scenario where we would miss our cruise due to cancelled/delayed flights: 1) notify DCL we need to cancel our cruise 2) collect paperwork (what kind of paperwork?) to document that the flights were cancelled/delayed 3) submit claim to plan administrator 4) receive expected denial of claim because the travel delay (necessitating cruise cancellation) event occurred prior to individual travel protection policy taking effect (it begins when the cruise departs) 5) submit flight cancellation/delay paperwork and claim denial to DCL for issuance of the cancel-for-any-reason benefit Add this wrinkle: we have 6 passengers arriving to the departure port across two sets of flights. If we don't all make the cruise, none will travel, even though some may have made it. Any way to provide for that instance? Does the cancel-for-any-reason apply (I mean it sounds like it if it's truly for any reason, but to check...)? Thanks in advance for any guidance!  

I have not had to submit such a claim so while your process sounds correct, hopefully someone else can confirm. I assume your party is at least 2 staterooms. I would think "cancel for any reason" is just that and the party who actually arrived in MCO but decides not to cruise without the rest of the group would use the same documentation showing others in the party were delayed. Ultimately, it doesn't really matter the "reason" for cancellation because the insurance essentially denies the claim; thus triggering the ability to request the credit from DCL . One thing to consider with some of your party arriving on different flights/from different cities... is everyone ok with losing ~25% of the cruise fare and carrying a credit? As those impacted by pandemic cancellations can attest -- it can be hard to get the whole party rescheduled for a future date within the required timeframe when it involved different family units. The credit is use-it-or-lose-it within a specified time period (I think it's 12 months from date of cancellation) and is likely tied to the specific passengers. Honestly, I'd opt for coming in a day or two early giving you all a buffer.

We are booked on the 2023 WBTA and I purchased the insurance from Disney via our Dreams Unlimited travel agent. We have not received any documentation about what is covered which I find odd. We will be flying to London from the US so if it does not cover flight delays / lost luggage then we need to buy different insurance. We have never purchased trip insurance in the past but now that we are in our mid fifties I wanted the added medical coverage and I am also worried about the flight and missing the ship with the way airlines are no longer dependable.

You can check on the disneycruise site and it has the travel insurance and what it does and does not cover. Also, since a pp mentioned they booked through Dreams; go to your reservation on their page and scroll down and it has a link that takes you to a comprehensive explanation of the DCL coverage. As for the flights etc. I thought I would mention that if you paid for those with a credit card, that card may cover trip interruption, lost baggage, etc. We always book flights and rental car and pre cruise stay on our Chase card that covers all of those things. If I may piggy-back onto this thread-- as we are in the process of filling out claim forms for a DCL cruise with outside insurance. I assume the DCL address to use is the one in the cruise contract; but is the phone number to put on the form the same number that we all use for reservations, etc? I suppose I could call DCL and ask if there is a different phone number for the insurance company to use. (in case anyone is wondering, one of our party had an injury that precluded travel. Glad we bought insurance; hope the claims process is not awful.)

Here is the link from the DCL web site under Travel Insurance in a much more easy to read and printable form. You will need to read the policy very carefully. The trip delay section uses the term "you" which I take to mean insured under this particular policy while other parts of the policy (Trip cancellation or Interuption) talks about "you or a family member" I take to mean that the family member does not need to going on the trip. I made sure we followed the directions to the T and gave DCL insurance (AON) everything they needed to process the claim. We received our refund within two weeks of filing the claim.

After mammoth SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket launch, Starlink is next. Where to watch liftoff

Soon after SpaceX launched its mammoth Falcon Heavy rocket from NASA's Kennedy Space Center with a weather satellite on top, the space agency is readying for another launch this week.

SpaceX Falcon Heavy lifted off − more powerful than its Falcon 9 − at 5:26 p.m. EDT Tuesday, June 25, carrying GOES-U, a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration satellite that will study weather phenomena. Next up is a SpaceX Starlink mission Thursday, June 27, from Cape Canaveral. SpaceX has not announced a launch time, yet the Geospatial Navigational Warning and FAA Advisory states the launch window opens at 7 a.m. EDT.

Depending on weather and cloud cover, the Falcon 9 rocket should be visible from nearly anywhere on the Space Coast and possibly in areas outside of the county . If there are changes to the launch, this story will be updated.

Where to watch a SpaceX rocket launch from Space Coast of Florida

Pretty much anywhere  in Brevard, you'll get a view of the rocket  launch − in certain areas, you can get an amazing view of SpaceX rocket boosters returning to the pads. The best view to watch a rocket launch from the Space Coast is along the beach. However, visibility will depend on weather conditions and people should make sure not to block traffic or rights of way on bridges and to follow posted rules at beaches.

If you are viewing the launch along the Indian River in Titusville from Space View Park or Parrish Park, look east directly across the river.

If you are farther south along the Indian River, look northeast.

Playalinda Beach or Canaveral National Seashore is the closest spot to view liftoff because it is almost parallel to Launch Pad 39A. On the beach, look south along the coastline, (you can even see the pad from some spots).
