Ideally the best time to visit any place is considered when the weather conditions are delightful. For Dooars, you can choose to go in October, November, December, January, February and March which is the peak season and April, May and June which is the moderate season.

• During check in time all guests booked through e-reservation system need to produce valid identity card in original. Guests need to mention the relationship with accompanying travelers.
• Guests need to carry a print out of the e-reservation slip.
• No booking is transferrable to any other person.
• Any booking will be considered as valid if produced ID proof of any of the guests present on the reservation desk at the Hollong Bungalow.
• Child with below 8 years may stay with parents without any additional charges.
• Extra bed is only available on additional payment on the spot and subject to availability.
• Any booking can be cancelled by the guest through the booking portal only.
• On cancellation, booking amount will be reimbursed to debit/credit card ac or bank account after deduction of the cancellation amount.
• Any booking by the guests can be cancelled at any moment due to administrative requirement. In that case no cancellation fees will be applicable.
• WBTDC will not be liable for non-availability of amenities / services caused by irreparable technical faults or natural calamity.

Today is also a big day for this tour as we will visit Jaldapara. Wakeup early in the morning, you can stroll around the resort and enjoy the freshness of wild fragrance of forest. Come back to resort, take a warm bath and get fresh. Jaldapara is the gateway of Jaldapara National Park situated at the foothills of the Easter Himalayas in Alipurduar District of Northern West Bengal and on the banks of the Torsa River. Jaldapara is spread across 216.51 km of vast grassland patches of reverie forests. It was declared a sanctuary in 1941 for protection of its great flora and fauna. Today, it has the largest home of the Indian One Horn Rhinoceros in the state of West Bengal. Enroute we will cover South Khayerbari Tiger Rescue Centre, a rescue centre for Royal Bengal Tiger and Leopard. Evening is free for enjoying activities like Barbeque, Tribal Dance at the resort. Except 16 th June to 15 th Sept during monsoon season, every forest in Doors sector is open for public. Weekly closing day for maintenance in Gorumara forest is Wednesday and for Jaldapara forest, it is Thursday. But some of the watch towers in Lataguri is open on Wednesday also like Metla Watch Tower.

Q. Can I get a refund on the cancellation of Pre-booked Elephant / Jeep Safari in Dooars?

Me and my wife went to Dooars in the 2nd week of February 2020 and this our first experience of a jungle safari. We were confused about the Dooars Tour Plan . I recently went to Dooars Trip, right before the lockdown. Our entire trip was planned and organized by Naturewings. Finally three friends family decided to explore forest in last winter and close to Kolkata, Dooars was the best forest destination. Based on inputs from one of our friend, who already visited Dooars suggested NatureWings as they are the best for the Dooars Tour Package . Our Dooars Tour started from New Mal Jn (NMZ) Railway Station and as per the plan, our car was waiting just outside the station. Next day, we took the whole day excursion to Jhalong, Bindu, Paren, Rocky Isalnd, Samsing and SultaniKhola. Next Day we went to Jayanti forest inside Buxa Tiger Reserve. Jayanti homestays are very nice just in front of Jayanti River. Next day morning we took the Chilapata Jeep Safari , the jeep entered into very deep jungle, where no sun light reaches and after completing Jeep Safari Completes, we proceed to the Jaladapara Forest, where NatureWings arranged a nice resort, Hallong Eco Resort. From the resort back gate, we entered into the forest for an afternoon walk. The best part of Dooars Tour was the Elephant Safari in Jaldapara and we took at 5 am slot. It was an amazing experience as Elephant entered into the Jeep jungle and we could see a most coveted Indian One Horn Rhino from stone throwing distance. Few trains can directly reach you to Dooars from Kolkata. One such popular train is Kanchankanya Express that leaves daily from Kolkata (Sealdah station

For BUXA and Jayanti (part of dooars) direct connected from Kolkata via train. The nearest station is New ALIPURDUAR JN.

Many others train left from Sealdah and Howrah station for North Bengal daily. Overnight train journey and reach new Jalpaiguri station. From njp station, many private vehicles are available for dooars.

Day 1 transfer to lataguri & sightseeing in suntalekhola, samsing and rocky island.

On the arrival at NJP/Bagdogra you will be greeted by our officials and then transferred to your resort in Lataguri which is maintained by the government officials. Lataguri is quaint settlement located at the periphery of Gorumara National Park. After checking in, freshen up and be ready to visit the offbeat destinations of Dooars. Our first stop would be Samsing, which is a serene hamlet known for its lush tea garden and the base for exploring Neora Valley National Park. After walking past the aromatic tea garden you will head towards Sunthalekhola which is located at a distance of 5km from Samsing. Sunthalekhola is dotted with astounding trekking routes. You can spot birds and small wild animals in those routes. Lastly you will head towards Rocky Island. Reckoned as the hub of adventurer, Rocky Island is made with the cluster of gigantic rocks midst the Murti River. Here you can test your rock climbing skill or simply enjoy the cool water of Murti River. Return to the resort and overnight stay in Lataguri. Day 2 JUNGLE SAFARI & SIGHTSEEING IN BINDU, JHALONG, AND JALDHAKA

Early in the morning jeep safari or elephant safari is organized in the resort. In this jungle safari you will get to observe the exotic beauty of the mid-sized park Gorumara. If you are lucky along with spotting bison, Barking Deer, you might be graced with the presence of famous Asiatic Rhino. Return to the resort for breakfast and after breakfast gear up for sightseeing in Bindu, Jhalong, and Jaldhaka. Your first stop is Jaldhaka a picturesque river valley located along the Indo-Bhutan border. Beckon the beauty of river stream gently cascading down the ridge in Jaldhaka and head towards your next stop Jhalong. Reckoned for its Hydroelectric Project on river Jaldhaka, Jhalong is place to observe a vibrant species of migrant bird. Lastly visit the last hamlet of West Bengal, Bindu. Offering the enthralling view of Bhutan hill and Dooars plain, Bindu has become a must visit destination of Dooars. Return to resort and rest for the evening. Overnight stay in Lataguri. Dooars Tour Packages Special Tips - about Jhalong, Bindu Jaldhaka: Three streams known as Dudh Pokhri, Bindu Khola and Jaldhaka meets at Bindu to form Jaldhaka River. Jaldhaka River originates from a lake in Kupup, Sikkim. The dam in Bindu helps in controlling water supply for Jaldhaka Hydro electrical project. This dam can be crossed only by foot. However, recently a steel bridge was constructed nearby for light weight vehicles.

Day 3 TRANSFER TO JALDAPARA & VISIT TO SOUTH KHAYERBARI

After the breakfast, check out from the resort and head towards Jaldapara. In Jaldapara you will be lodging in the resort maintained by the government officials. Jaldapara is a national park known for housing the largest population of One-Horned Rhinoceros after Kajiranga National Park in Assam. On arrival at Jaldapara, check into the resort and freshen up. Later in the afternoon you will drive towards South Khayerbari. Located at a distance of 15km, South Khayerbari is a rehabilitation centre for the felines who were rescued from the circus and smuggler. Observe the rescued leopards and Royal Bengal tigers in South Khayerbari while touring in the battery operated cars. Return to the resort and you are free for the rest of the evening. Overnight stay in Jaldapara. Dooars Tour Packages Special Tips - about Jaldapara: Almost one third of the Jaldapara National Park is covered with Savannah and tall elephant grass. Among trees sal, khair, sishu, simul, sirish are the main contributors of this forest. Jaldapara is mainly known for one horned rhinoceros. There are about 20 species of mammals, 240 species of birds, 8 species of fresh water turtles available in this forest. Among mammals' rhinoceros, elephant, leopard, sambar, barking deer, spotted deer, hog deer, wild bores and Indian gaurs can be seen. Bengal florican one of the rarest species of bird is found in this forest. Other birds like crested eagle, fin's weaver, jungle fowl, peafowl, partridge, lesser pied hornbills are inhabitant of Jaldapara National Park. Python, monitor lizard, krait, cobra, and gecko are important habitat among reptiles. Some rare species like the hispid hare and the hog-badger are also found in Jaldapara National Park.

Day 4 SIGHTSEEING AT JAYANTI/BUXA

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive towards Buxa Jayanti. Visit the ancient Buxa Fort which marks its existence since the British era and the amazing scenic beauty of nature at Jayanti river bed. After the delightful sightseeing return back to the resort and relax. Overnight stay at Jaldapara. Dooars Tour Packages Special Tips - about Buxa Tiger Reserve: Buxa Tiger Reserve was set up at the north-eastern corner of West Bengal bordering Bhutan and Assam in the Alipurduar District. Buxa forest was declared as 15th Tiger Reserve of India in 1983. On 5th December 1997 Buxa Tiger Reserve received the status of National Park. Spread over an area of 760 sq km, Buxa is a famous tourist place in North Bengal and Dooars Region.

Day 5 COOCHBEHAR & CHILAPATA SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, gear up for the sightseeing of Coochbehar. On the way visit Chilapata forest. Chilapata Forest is another protected forest of Dooars region. Forming a natural elephant corridor, in Chilapata Forest you can explore 23 species of carnivores and herbivores, approximately 180 species of birds, 22 species of reptiles, several species of amphibians and a host of lesser fauna. Coochbehar is the only planned city of North East which still holds the remnants of its royal past. The Rajbari or the Coochbehar Palace is the most prominent attraction of this historic city. Madan Mohan Temple is another favored attraction of Coochbehar. The magnificent architecture of these ancient building is sure to woo your heart. This princely town has many natural water bodies like Rasikbill which attracts migratory birds from Central Asia and Ladakh during winter season. After lunch and sightseeing in Coochbehar return to you resort in Jaldapara. Overnight stay at Jaldapara. The design of the palace was influenced by the famous Buckingham Palace in London. This palace was built during the rule of Maharaja Nripendra Narayan. The double-story palace is made of brick in classical Western style. The palace covers an area of 51,309 square ft (4,766.8 m2). The whole structure is 395 ft (120 m) long and 296 feet (90 m) wide and is on rests 4 feet 9 inches (1.45 m) above the ground.
