Chapter 20 Summary. Weeks pass, and the conditions at the camp do not improve. Everywhere, people are sick, crying, starving, and desperate. One day, a plane drops packages of food on the camp, but many of them land in a nearby minefield. Before Parvana can stop her, Leila runs into the minefield towards the packages, and a mine explodes.

Parvana's Journey (The Breadwinner, #2)
The ending to Parvana's Journey is a little more satisfying. The second to last chapter ends with the most intense part of both books, while the Breadwinner never felt like it had that much tension. Although this book's main conflict is also not solved by the characters really doing anything, I think it works much better in this case.
