A lively village local with two rooms that are pretty much open plan and wrapped around the central bar counter. A sign points to the pool table in an upstairs room. Just one hand pump on the bar, serving Bradfield Belgian Blue, which I try to avoid normally, but at least it was in reasonable condition. Quiz nights, live music and sports on TV.

The Travellers is a proper looking pub that is situated between the Manor Barn and Green Dragon. Once inside the pub had two seperate rooms,there was a smart L shaped lounge to the right,this room was carpeted and had comfy bench seating,there was also a real fire on the go giving the room a cosy feel,there was some decent background music playing. There was a seperate bar to the left,but this room was in darkness. There was one real ale on the bar,this was Moorhouses Pride of Pendle,this was a very nice drink. I was quite happy drinking in this pub. Pub visited 22/3/2014

About the Pub

A charming suburban community local in the desirable area of Kimberworth. This two bar operation is an ideal starter pub for an enthusiastic and motivated couple to 'cut their teeth' in the pub industry. Recently referbished, a good operational kitchen now in place. Would suit someone with a love of cask ales and traditional pub games. The Travellers Inn is a traditional cask ale two bar operation with one large 'L' shaped lounge and a small snug to the left as you enter via the front door. Traditionally decorated and in good condition throughout, the pub has fixed and loose seating for around 30 customers and can easily accommodate many more standing. Located on the first floor is a function room that is currently under-utilised and could be developed further.  

There's been a fantastic internal refurbishment to the outside of the pub that now offers a brillian outdoor sports-viewing area.

Kimberworth Striders Running Club was established in 1986 to cater initially for the needs of runners in the Kimberworth area of Rotherham but now have a membership base of over a hundred members from all over the Rotherham locale. We are a very friendly club with members of a wide range of ages and abilities.

  When and Where Do We Meet?

The club meet on a Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6.15pm at The Traveller Pub, Church Street, Kimberworth.  We have access to a covered, heated section of the beer garden together with toilets inside the pub itself.

  What Training Do We Do?

The club aims to cater for a wide range of abilities. Runs incorporate tempo, hill and speed sessions, depending upon the time of year and upcoming races. Training in the winter evenings tends to be on roads and in the summer months the Striders tend to go off-road (unless there is an up-coming road race which requires some road training).

  Club Races

The Striders regularly organise their own races & have organised over a hundred events in their thirty plus year history, the main races being:

• Kimmy Kanter
• Santa's Special
• Stan Bagshaw Toffee Run

Club Championship

Kimberworth Striders have organised a 'Club Championship' series of races since 1993, unique in that it is 'graded' to take into account an individuals abilty, 'runners' being divided into a variety of 'Divisions' - So EVERYONE has a chance to win.

This is backed up with a Park Run competition utilizing events around the South Yorkshire region.
