Nissan Stadium to give public tours of Titans facilities

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Titans announced fans will be able to get an inside look at the home of the Tennessee Titans in public tours.

Beginning March 13, fans can take guided tours of the facility.

The hour-long tour will include a look at the stadium, locker room, press box, and playing field as well as T-Rac’s den and the cheerleader locker room.

Public tours are available Wednesdays and Fridays at 2 pm, and 10 am. Saturday tours will be at noon on select weekends. However, if you want a private tour, you can purchase one for $200 for a group of 20 with an additional $5.00 for each additional person.

Tickets are $12.00 for Adults, and $10.00 for Students, Senior Citizens, & Military. Tours will be limited to 25 fans and every ticket includes a 10 percent discount at the team store at Nissan Stadium.

Neyland Stadium Information

Once you walk into the Neyland Stadium, you will understand why it is one of the most iconic landmarks for college football. The stadium is located on 1235 Phillip Fulmer Way n 1235 Phillip Fulmer Way SW, Knoxville, Tennessee. The stadium hosted its first UT game on September 24, 1921, with the Tennessee Vols defeating Emory & Henry (27–0). Where else, the first night at the stadium was on Sept. 16, 1972 – Tennessee (28) vs. Penn State (21).

Its primary function is to be the home of the Tennessee Volunteers football team. Furthermore, it is used to host large conventions and has been a site for a few NFL exhibition games. From time to time, Neyland Stadium is also used for concerts, political rallies, and religious gatherings. One of the most notable non-sporting events of Neyland Stadium took place in May 1970. The stadium hosted the Billy Graham Crusade which President Richard Nixon was its guest speaker. On top of that, the Jacksons performed three concerts there in August 1984, during their Victory Tour.

Neyland Stadium is the fifth largest stadium in the United States, the sixth largest stadium in the world, and the second largest stadium in the Southeastern Conference. According to World Atlas, the seating capacity at Neyland Stadium is currently at 102,455. The stadium has undergone 16 expansion projects since its opening. When the capacity reached a whopping 104,079-seats, alterations were made to slightly reduce it in the following decade.

From 2004 to 2010, the latest additions and updates to the facility were added at a $136.4 million series of renovations cost. These renovations included the bricking around the field and the removal of the previous hedges, other changes inside and outside of the stadium structure, additions, and reconfigurations of seating areas, as well as a new home locker, press, and varsity rooms.

Most stadiums are named after someone the city or organization honors and the Neyland Stadium is no exception to this rule. This stadium was re-named in 1962 to honor of General Robert Neyland. He went to Tennessee as an ROTC instructor and backfield coach in 1925. In 1926, he was named head football coach in 1926. Neyland served three stints as head football coach at the University of Tennessee between 1926 and 1952. Under his leadership, the Tennessee Volunteers team blossomed in the college football arena, despite two interruptions for military service.

Colonel W.S. Shields, president of Knoxville’s City National Bank and a University of Tennessee trustee is the person who the Shield-Watkins Field (the playing surface at Neyland Stadium) is named after. It was in honor of Col. Shields and his wife, Alice Watkins-Shield. The stadium was first conceived in 1919 when Col. Watkins-Shields provided the initial capital to prepare and equip the athletic field.

University of Tennessee to offer Neyland Stadium tours

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - You can now take a tour of Neyland Stadium.

“We have had numerous requests thru the years for a stadium tour,” university officials said. “We are excited to let you know that we do now have a stadium tour that the public can sign up for.”

The tours last an hour and are offered Monday-Thursday.

Tickets are $20 per adult and $10 for children under the age of 13.

Tennessee football fans will see an expanded concourse, new restrooms and improved WiFi capabilities at Neyland Stadium this season.

On Friday, UT released an updated timeline for renovations to the stadium as part of the $340 million project approved in 2017. Some of the latest work will be visible at the Orange and White game on April 15, including demolition to the stadium's south end.

The main concourse 1 will be expanded with additional restrooms and improved concessions experience. A kitchen, commissary and loading dock also will be added to the south end.

The Founders Suites will be a new addition to the west side of the stadium. Over the next few weeks, season-ticket holders with seats in sections and rows that will be impacted by that project will receive phone calls or emails related to a 2023 relocation.

Here is the timeline for Neyland Stadium renovations (subject to change), including the 2022 additions.

• Initial construction for the Westside Founders Suites

Tennessee Titans announce open practice for fans at Nissan Stadium during training camp

Tennessee Titans fans will get a close-up look at one of the team's first training camp practices when the team heads to Nissan Stadium for an open practice session on July 27.

The team announced "Back Together Weekend" on Wednesday, headlined by the first open practice availability of coach Brian Callahan's tenure with the Titans . The Saturday practice will begin at 11 a.m., with parking lots opening at 9 a.m. and gates 3 and 9 opening at 10 a.m. Concessions, photo opportunities and tailgate games will be available on the concourse during the practice.

Tickets for the practice will be free and can be claimed via the Titans' official website .

The Titans begin training camp practices earlier that week on July 23 at Ascension St. Thomas Sports Park. The team will host select fans at the facility for training camp practices, with information to be released at a later date.

The Titans will also play two preseason games at Nissan Stadium, hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Aug. 10 and the Seattle Seahawks on Aug. 17. The Titans will host the Seahawks for a week of joint practices before their matchup.

SEC stadium rankings: Newcomers Oklahoma, Texas lag behind legacy league members after conference expansion

Here's our breakdown of the sec's top home-field advantages ahead of the 2024 season.

EA Sports turned heads when it released its assessment of college football's toughest places to play ahead of the upcoming "College Football 25" video game release. Game developers pegged Texas A&M as the sport's top home-field environment and listed nine SEC venues among the top 15.

While plenty of respect was shown to the SEC and its rabid fan bases with a strong representation near the top, EA's ordering of the SEC environments was a lightning rod for controversy. Did Kyle Field really deserve the top spot ahead of LSU's Tiger Stadium, which is notoriously perilous for visitors during night games?

What about Georgia coming in at No. 5 on the list? The Bulldogs have been dominant at home under coach Kirby Smart. But is that mostly the byproduct of a talent advantage and a favorable SEC East schedule?

While some factors are quantifiable, selecting the best stadium environment in the SEC requires nuance. As Texas and Oklahoma join the SEC for the 2024 season, we set out to take a deeper and more detailed look at the hierarchy of SEC home environments.

LSU is 11-0 in home night games through two seasons under coach Brian Kelly. Its only home loss of the Kelly era came in an 11 a.m. local time start against Tennessee in 2022, lending credence to the belief there is just something different about Tiger Stadium at night. The venue is appropriately nicknamed Death Valley as it's a place where dreams go to die, especially when the lights are on and the fans have spent all day fueling up.

Alabama owned a 21-game home winning streak before a loss to Texas at Bryant-Denny Stadium last season. The Crimson Tide were so dominant at home under Nick Saban that the legendary coach occasionally had to prod Bama students to remain engaged through what seemed like a never-ending series of blowout wins. But when a quality foe comes to town, this place is deafening and often demoralizing for opponents.

The Gators have dropped two home games in each of the past two seasons while searching for their footing under coach Billy Napier. However, it will take more than a couple of years to change Ben Hill Griffin Stadium's reputation as a nightmare venue for opponents. The Gators went 32-2 inside "The Swamp" from 2005-09 during Urban Meyer's heyday as coach.

4. Tennessee

Neyland Stadium ranked only seventh among SEC venues in EA Sports' list of toughest places to play. Underestimate the orange insanity at your own peril. Former Oklahoma star quarterback Baker Mayfield once called Neyland Stadium "a different type of loud" and said it "was probably the best game experience I've had."

Auburn is just 12-10 at Jordan-Hare Stadium over the past three seasons after a series of close losses against top-15 foes Georgia, Alabama and Ole Miss last season. But Auburn is unmatched in its potential for miracles. Just consider that the "Prayer at Jordan-Hare" and the "Kick-Six" to beat Georgia and Alabama occurred in consecutive games during November of 2013.

Georgia is 41-1 at home over the last seven seasons and owns the nation's longest home winning streak at 32 games. While the Bulldogs faithful deserve plenty of credit for the team's success at Sanford Stadium, much of that dominance should probably be attributed to the talent advantage amassed by UGA under coach Kirby Smart.

7. South Carolina

South Carolina's stadium packs a punch, especially for a program not regarded as a historic power. Williams-Brice Stadium shakes when "Sandstorm" comes on, and the Gamecocks have notched some big home wins under Shane Beamer. Beating Florida and Auburn was crucial to getting the Gamecocks bowl-eligible in 2021, and an upset of No. 5 Tennessee altered the playoff picture in 2022.

8. Texas A&M

Texas A&M's "12th Man" and "Aggie Yell" are among the most distinctive college football traditions and give Kyle Field a unique feel among its SEC peers. But EA Sports put too much stock in those factors when ranking A&M as the nation's toughest place to play. Appalachian State sure seemed undaunted in 2022 when it left with a 17-14 victory.

9. Oklahoma 

If this was 2023 and we were ranking the best Big 12 stadiums, "The Palace on the Prarie" would likely sit at No. 1. But the Sooner faithful will have to prove that OU's home-field advantage is better than that of the SEC's legacy programs. Visits from Tennessee and Alabama in 2024 will give the Sooners a chance to set the record straight.

Texas went 6-0 at home in 2023, but the marquee visitors were Kansas and Kansas State. The Longhorns were a middling 9-4 at Darrell K Royal Memorial Stadium over the 2021 and 2022 seasons. A visit from Georgia on Oct. 19 this season will give Bevo and "The Eyes of Texas" an opportunity to flex on the SEC and show that DKR belongs in the conversation as a premier SEC environment.

11. Mississippi State

The noise generated by tens of thousands of ringing cowbells gives Davis Wade Stadium a loudness factor you wouldn't typically expect from a venue with a capacity of *only* 61,337. Drop the Bulldogs into another league and their home-field advantage would be considered among the best.

12. Arkansas

When Arkansas is rocking and the hogs are called, it's a beast that can cap out above some of the others on this list. But the Razorbacks are a pedestrian 15-11 at home under coach Sam Pittman after stumbling to a 3-4 home record last season. A couple of those losses were of the non-competitive variety, and the wins were against Western Carolina, Kent State and FIU.

13. Ole Miss

If we were ranking the best pregame scenes, Ole Miss would land significantly higher on the list because of The Grove's deserved reputation as a must-see tailgating destination. A 19-2 home mark over the last three seasons is impressive, but the vibe inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is more genteel than daunting when compared to its SEC competitors. 

14. Missouri

Since joining the SEC in 2012, Missouri has made strides to get Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field on par with other SEC venues. If the Tigers had pulled off the upset against No. 1 Georgia in 2022, perhaps the venue would rank higher on the list. Alas, they fell 26-22 and narrowly missed out on a monumental home victory.

15. Kentucky

Any program that sells the naming rights of its football stadium to a grocery store chain is punting on this competition. Kentucky's 9-6 home mark over the past two seasons is nothing special, and UK is just 2-6 against SEC visitors over the past two seasons.

16. Vanderbilt 

There's an ongoing stadium renovation to modernize FirstBank Stadium. Unfortunately for the Commodores, those improvements will simply make the venue even more appealing for opposing fans looking to enjoy a weekend in Nashville.

Young players head to the Appalachian League – a summer collegiate wood-bat circuit since 2021 – to put themselves on the map, both for their schools and future editions of the MLB Draft. This week, Appy Leaguers will get a tremendous opportunity to measure themselves against some of the best collegians in the sport.

Select Appalachian League teams from the East and West Divisions will take on USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team in a pair of games this week. The East Select Team will face the CNT on Monday at 7 p.m. ET at Calfee Park in Pulaski, Va. The West Select Team will match up against the squad a day later at 7 p.m. ET at TVA Credit Union Ballpark in Johnson City, Tenn. Both games can be streamed live on the Appy League site .

The East side is highlighted by one of the Appy League’s best overall hitters this summer in Burlington catcher Ryan McCrystal. The East Carolina star leads the summer loop in average (.400) and ranks second in slugging percentage (.644) and OPS (1.070) through his first 10 games with the Sock Puppets. This marks McCrystal’s third straight season in Burlington, and he’s posted at least a .900 OPS in each of those campaigns.

The West will bring their share of boppers to the table. Bristol corner infielder Tyler Zedalis (South Carolina) leads the Appy League with five homers, nine extra-base hits and ranks second with 39 total bases through his first 19 games of the summer, while Johnson City second baseman Gunner Boree sits atop the league OBP and OPS leaderboards with .552 and 1.165 marks respectively. Outfielder Colby Backus – a Johnson City native fresh off a national title run with Tennessee – brings a taste of Omaha to the West as well.

For anyone looking to do advance scouting, keep an eye on a pair of recently graduated high-schoolers who will join in this week’s exhibitions. Missouri commit Trey Lawrence (Palmetto, FL HS) joins the East as a two-way player, while future Vanderbilt infielder Brodie Johnston (Boyd Buchanan, TN HS) takes to the dirt for the West.

USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team named its Summer League Tour roster over the weekend ahead of a separate trip to the Coastal Plain League. Gavin Grahovac – star of national runner-up Texas A&M – was among the big names included, as was left-hander Dylan Loy, who posted a 2.37 ERA as a reliever for the national champion Tennessee Volunteers.

The school with the most representatives on the Summer League Tour roster is Vanderbilt with three players -- Miller Green, LHP, Ethan McElvain, LHP and Brennan Seiber, RHP.

Travis, Jason and Kylie Kelce attend Taylor Swift's Eras Tour show in London

Swift fever has touched down on the British capital as Taylor Swift was set to perform her first sold-out night in London's Wembley Stadium ushering in new opening acts with Travis, Jason and Kylie Kelce cheering from the floor.

Travis Kelce was seen walking to the VIP floor tent during Paramore's "Misery Business" with Kelce's brother, sister-in-law and best friend Ross Travis. The Kelces were in Cannes, France the day before the concert for the Cannes Lions Festival. Fans snapped photos and videos of Jason exchanging friendship bracelets with Swifties. Also spotted on the floor, Swift's parents Scott and Andrea Swift , Bridgerton actress Nicola Coughlan , Queer Eye host Jonathan van Ness and actress Cara Delevingne.

Online, social media accounts have confused Ross Travis and Travis Kelce. Travis was wearing a green shirt and Cowboy hat.

Kelce has attended the tour a half dozen times since the couple went public last year. His first stop was Buenos Aires, Argentina , followed by Sydney, Australia,  two nights in Singapore and the final night in Paris. Swift has changed the “Karma” lyrics to "guy on the Chiefs" every time Kelce has cheered her on from the sidelines. She also attended 13 NFL games in the 2023-2024 season culminating in the Super Bowl.

The Kansas City football player was in Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday for his three-day event Tight End University . Before heading to Europe he hosted a the program that brings tight ends together for film study, on-field drills, recovery and rehabilitation.

Introducing Mette to the Swift universe

Mette opened up for night one in Wembley taking the stage before Paramore, the opening act for all 51 Eras Tour shows in Europe. Mette describes her musical repertoire as "sensual and sweaty." Prior to the Eras Tour she played Cassandra alongside Swift in the 2019 movie "Cats."

"This is such a special night y'all," Mette said. "Thank you, Taylor."

London transforms into Swiftmania

The City of Dreams has prepared for the three nights of Swift. She's sang about the city in several of her songs including "London Boy," "So Long London" and "The Black Dog." She has a history with the city after dating ex Joe Alwyn for six-plus years, frequently visiting Camden Market, Highgate, the West End, Brixton, Shoreditch and Hackney.

Murals appeared around the city the week leading up to Swift's show. Hours before the show, the Tube, or London subway system, created a map decked out in the singer's 11 eras, recoloring the lines to correspond to different albums and renaming stops after songs like "All Too Well" and "I Knew You Were Trouble." Gemstones were added to reflect popular landmarks like the Hampstead Heath or Wembley Stadium.

Swift has two more performances at Wembley Stadium before heading to Dublin. On Saturday, Griff will open for the singer before Paramore and on Sunday, Benson Boone will be the first act to take the stage.

The broad appeal of the NFL internationally has helped build it into the powerhouse league it is today. The Kansas City Chiefs and their larger-than-life stars, including Travis Kelce, have reached fans in many countries, especially London, England.

The latest episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce (Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment) discussed Travis’ prospects of playing for a London-based NFL team.

“I’m waiting for that team (London) to play for another team other than the Chiefs,” said Kelce. “That’s the only situation is if I get to play abroad.”

The brothers recorded the latest episode from the Passyunk Avenue Bar in London, England. They were recapping their recent trip to London, including attending Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ and meeting the Royal family. Travis believes an NFL franchise could potentially be awarded to London.

“Less than ten years,” said Travis, “I don’t know for a fact it’s London.” Kelce has experience playing football in the UK. In 2015, the Chiefs defeated the Detroit Lions 45-10 at Wembley Stadium. He finished with six catches for 49 yards and a touchdown.
