This is a guide to May Day 2024, a tour event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) for the Nintendo Switch. Learn how to get the May Day Ticket, complete Rover's maze, earn reward items, and meet Rover himself below!

This is a walkthrough for this first time you encounter the event. If this is your second time playing through the event, read our guide for that below!

May Day Maze Walkthrough 2024

Step-by-Step Guide

1. dig up the shrub and tree.

Eat the fruit and dig up the tree , then pick up the two pieces of wood .

2. Head to the Right Side of the Maze

3. Head to the Left Side of the Maze

If you don't have the ladder recipe yet, pick up the DIY and use it to learn the recipe.

Eat one piece of fruit and use the shovel to break the rock .

4. Pick Up the Fruit

Eat another piece of fruit and use the shovel to pick up the tree blocking the way south. Jump across the other side of the ledge and pick up the two pieces of fruit.

5. Head Back to the Right Side of the Maze

Pick up the piece of fruit and eat another one to dig up the tree so that you can pick up the two pieces of hardwood .

6. Head North and Collect Pieces of Wood

Jump across the gap and pick up the piece of softwood on the left side. Next, pick up the two pieces of wood and fruit on the upper right part of the maze.

7. Craft a Ladder

Eat a piece of fruit to destroy the rock and pick up the two pieces of hardwood near the trees. Next, craft a ladder using the materials you've gathered.

8. Get the Worn Axe

The Worn Axe breaks upon use, so be careful where you use it!

9. Head to the Right Side of the Maze

Jump across the middle gap and use the worn axe to chop the tree blocking the way to the ledge. Remove the roots of the chopped tree with the shovel and use the ladder to pick up the two pieces of fruit on the top ledge.

10. Head Back to the DIY Workbench Area

Climb the ledge using the ladder and pick up the three pieces of fruit.

11. Dig Up the Bush

Jump across the gap and head to the lower left side of the maze so that you can make your way north across the gaps to the tree.

12. Clearing the Way to Rover

13. Get the Bell Vouchers

14. Break the Rock

15. Break the Three Rocks

Eat the three remaining pieces of fruit to break the rocks, and grab the last five bell vouchers.

That's all 9 Bell Vouchers you can get from the island. Congratulations!

If You Fail, Reset(ti)

You Cannot Bring Items Home

Don't waste your time digging up the shrubs. You will not be able to take them home. The only things you can have back on your island are the rewards you get, which is Rover's Briefcase , and the Bell Vouchers.

May Day Dates

The May Day event will be held from April 29 to May 7, 2024.

Latest Update Info & How to Update

Fly to the Special Island for the May Day Event

Once the event has started, go to the Airport and talk to Orville. He will mention that he has a May Day Ticket with your name on it. Select " I want to fly! " and choose " Go on May Day Tour ".

From there, you'll be flown to a special island available only for this event!

You Can't Bring Any Items

No buying Tools off Orville either, sneaky you, so pay careful attention to how you use the items at your disposal!

Find Treasure in the Maze!

You Can Start Over Using the Rescue Service

If you ever get stuck in the maze, you can use the Rescue Services for 100 Nook Miles to go back to the port and reset the maze.

Clear the Maze and Talk to Rover

He'll also hint that you seem to be destined to run into each other again sometime, so he might visit your island in future events!

Between April 29 to May 7

Isabelle will also mention this in her broadcast, so you can use that to check if you can access the event or not.

Have a Second User Play if You Want to Go Again

You can only get 1 May Day Ticket which can be redeemed for 1 tour. If you want to go on another May Day Tour, you can have another user play the event, or create one if you haven't yet.

What to Do if the Event Won't Start

Make sure your switch has the correct date and time.

You Cannot Take the Bushes Home

Other than the items above, you cannot take other items home, such as the bushes on the island. They will be gone when you return to your island.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can celebrate May Day from April 29 until May 7 in 2024.

To participate, head over to Resident Services and talk to Tom Nook. He’ll give you a May Day Ticket to go out on a limited-time May Day Island Tour. Take the ticket to the airport and you’ll fly to an island with a hedge maze.

How does the May Day maze tour work?

There will be tools, crafting material, and fruit hidden around the maze. To get through the maze, you’ll have to craft more tools and eat the fruit at the right times to get rid of obstacles like rocks and trees. To make the challenge a little trickier, you can’t bring anything with you. You can only use the stuff you find in the maze to complete it.

The maze is pretty straightforward if you’re careful, but still possible to mess up, so it’s worth keeping these important tips in mind:

• You can break rocks and lift trees with your shovel once you’ve eaten a piece of fruit.
• There’s a crafting station mid-way through the maze. You’ll need enough materials to make tools like Ladders (which you can find in the maze).
• The small pits only allow you to jump directly across them, but there’s always a way to get to the other side of them.
• If you mess up or get stuck, use your NookPhone and use the Rescue Service app to get escorted back to the beginning and reset the island. (If you leave the island, you will not be able to come back!)

With some persistence, you should be able to make it through in just a few minutes. If you want to earn some extra money, make sure you grab the Bell Vouchers scattered around the maze. They’re worth 3,000 Bells each. (But if 3,000 Bells isn’t that appealing to you, feel free to skip them and head straight for the end.)

ACNH May Day maze solution

There are two possible mazes you can get and they swap out depending on the year. Once maze appears when the year is an even number and one appears when the year is an odd number.

ACNH May Day 2024 maze walkthrough

This is the 2024, 2026, 2028, and so forth maze solution, since this maze will show up during even-numbered years:

• Pick up the shovel in front of you. Use it to dig out the bush on the left and grab the fruit .
• Eat the fruit and use your new fruit power to help you dig out the tree that blocks the straight path.
• Explore the only open pathways, jumping over the holes in the ground to pick up four tree branches , three pieces of wood , and the worn axe .
• Go to the top left of the maze and use the axe to chop down the tree blocking the path from another tree branch and two fruit . The axe will break, but don’t worry.
• Head to the middle-left part of the maze to see a rock protecting an iron nugget . Eat a fruit and use your fruit power to break the rock and grab the nugget.
• Go to the rock that blocks a fruit on the right edge of the hedge maze. Eat a fruit and use that fruit power to break the rock . Pick up the fruit and the two DIY recipes.
• Eat the last fruit in your inventory to get the strength to dig up the tree blocking the DIY workbench.
• Craft the flimsy axe and then use the flimsy axe to craft the regular axe .
• Head back to the middle of the maze and chop the tree on the left side to get two more fruit .
• Backtrack to where the iron nugget was to chop down the tree there. Pick up the fruit and head straight down the newly opened path.
• Cut down the last three trees (and dig up the stumps) to get to Rover . He’ll mail you your reward later.
• Dig up the bush to the left of Rover to get four Bell Vouchers .
• Dig up the bushes above those Bell Vouchers so you can run around the outer rim of the island .
• Loop around the left side to the front of the island to see three rocks protecting five more Bell Vouchers . Eat the three fruit you collected earlier to break these rocks and claim these vouchers.
• Dig up the bushes to the right of where the rocks were to head back to Wilbur and go home.

What rewards do I get for finishing the May Day maze?

At the very end of the maze, Rover — a cat character who has made appearances in previous Animal Crossing games — will be waiting for you. He’ll give you Rover’s Briefcase , a furnishing item covered in travel stickers. If you’ve completed the event in previous years, you’ll get Rover’s Photo instead. The reward gets mailed to you once you head back to your island.

The ticket and tour is only redeemable once your get your loot, and that’s all there is to do. Even if there’s only one thing to do for this event, it’s nice to see a familiar face. We don’t know what this means for Rover, or if he’ll return in a future event.

How to Get a May Day Ticket in ACNH 2024?

From April 29 to May 7, 2024, Tom Nook will be at Resident Services to inform players that the May Day event is underway. To get a May Day Ticket, you need to go to the airport and speak to Orville, he will offer you a May Day Ticket with your name on it, once the conversation starts, choose “I wanna fly!” and “Use May Day Ticket”, then you can use the ticket to visit the island for May Day tour. You can only get one ticket to redeem one tour opportunity.

ACNH May Day Maze 2024 Walkthrough - How to Beat May Day Tour in Animal Crossing

There are two types of May Day tour layouts in Animal Crossing New Horizons, and the ACNH May Day maze 2024 should be the first type of design, which is the same as 2022/2020, can be identified by looking for a single fruit on the ground, and no cliffs. If you have not done the Rover’s Maze, here are the steps for getting through the tour and obtaining all bell vouchers. 

1. Dig up the bush and tree blocking your path using the shovel on the ground, and eat fruit to dig up the tree. Be careful when you eat your fruit and pay attention to the durability of your tools. 

2. Follow the new pathways to collect a worn axe, tree branches, and stone. Only use the worn axe on trees.

3. Chop the top left tree with the axe to get two native fruits and one branch behind it.

4. Break the rock in the bottom left to collect an iron nugget.

5. Break the rock and chop the tree in the bottom right to access a DIY crafting workbench. Eat fruit to get energy.

6. Learn two DIY crafting recipes to craft a flimsy axe at the workbench, then an axe.

7. Chop trees on the straight left using your axe for two more fruit. Walk back to the area where you found the iron nugget, and cut down the last tree in the maze besides the three trees at the north end.

8. Chop the final 3 trees north to meet Rover at the campsite. Talk with Rover and let him introduce himself and then give you the May Day maze reward: Rover’s Briefcase.

9. Dig bushes left of Rover for 4 Bell Vouchers.

10. Dig bushes north of Rover for a path, break 3 rocks after eating the fruit for 5 more Bell Vouchers.

Tips and Tricks for Solving May Day Maze 2024 Quickly

- When you arrive on the May Day maze island, your pockets will be empty. You must find everything you need to complete the maze on the island.

- Tools have limited durability on the island, craft tools like axes and shovels as instructed to help progress through obstacles. 

- Chop trees, dig up plants, and break rocks to gather materials, such as wood, stone, branches, and fruit. 

- Fruit is limited and only eating that when ready to immediately use a tool prevents accidental early depletion. 

- Complete objectives to earn new DIY recipes, which may help solve puzzles. 

- If you get stuck, use the "Rescue Service" to return to the dock and reset your progress.

- Carefully follow the maze path, removing obstacles like trees and digging up bushes/plants blocking the way.

- Returning to prior areas can uncover new paths or objectives missed earlier.

- Shovel use unwittingly revealed stumps can be sat on to hop over gaps.

- Hidden bell vouchers can be exchanged for bells back home too.

The May Day Tour is a limited-time holiday event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons bringing a new mystery island to visit with fan-favorite returning character Rover! Learn how to complete the maze and get all of the rewards available in this guide.

This event was implemented for 2022 and all later years with the major Version 2.0 Update released in November 2021, so you’ll need to have updated your copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons to experience the event.

May Day Event Start Date & Time

The May Day Tour event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons begins on April 29th running until May 7th ! For this event, the dates are the same every year, including during 2023 where it is held from April 29th, 2023 to May 7th, 2023 .

Note that older versions of Animal Crossing: New Horizons may not feature May Day Tour in a given year — you must be updated to Version 2.0 or later for the event to be available every year.

To participate in the May Day event and enjoy the activities that Tom Nook has planned for you, load up Animal Crossing: New Horizons during the week of April 29th to May 7th.

When you play for the first time during this event period, you’ll hear a special morning announcement from Isabelle letting you know the May Day festivities have begun! You can speak to Tom Nook for additional dialogue, but this is not necessary.

To get your May Day Ticket and visit the May Day Tour island, visit the Airport and speak to Orville at the counter! He’ll inform you that Tom Nook left a May Day Ticket at the airport with your name written on it.

After learning about the ticket at the Airport, you can use your free May Day Ticket at any time by selecting the “I wanna fly!” option followed by the “Use May Day Ticket” option presented to you by Orville.

In the original 2020 version of this event, players had to retrieve their May Day Ticket from Tom Nook at Resident Services, but this is no longer the case since. There is still dialogue from him that you can experience though.

The May Day Tour Maze is a special maze puzzle in Animal Crossing: New Horizons found on a faraway island only accessible during the May Day event when using a May Day Ticket at the Airport. By navigating through the puzzle and meeting Rover at the end, you’ll receive a special prize.

When you arrive at the May Day Maze, your inventory will be empty without any tools, so you’ll have to find and craft new tools using the resources on the island.

Here’s a few handy tips on how to solve the May Day Maze in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but you can find our complete 100% walkthrough below if you need more in-depth help:

• Look for a blue cat named Rover sitting on the ground in the top right of maze — that’s your destination goal!
• Pick up tools, fruit, wood, and other resources to help clear a pathway to the goal. To cross a gap of water, you may need to come at it from a different angle.
• It’s key to use the landscaping powers of Animal Crossing to full effect! Remember that trees can be dug up and rocks can be broken by eating Fruit to gain energy.
• Once you consume a resource, you cannot get it back without completely resetting the maze. It is possible to get stuck if you are not careful.
• Hidden Bell Vouchers can be found in two locations on the maze, these are bonus items that can only be accessed after reaching Rover.
• When you leave the May Day Tour island, it is no longer possible to return on the same character until next year’s event.

Over the years of updates, there have been two different types of May Day Tour Maze designs released in Animal Crossing: New Horizons by Nintendo and the one you encounter may depend on your game’s version number and which year you’re playing in.

May Day Tour Maze #1 can be identified by looking for a single fruit to the left of the entrance, and no cliffs in sight . In Version 2.0 and later, this maze seems to occur on even years like 2020, 2022, and 2024.

May Day Tour Maze #2 can be identified by looking for two fruits to the left of the entrance arranged in a diagonal fashion , and multiple cliffs in sight . In Version 2.0 and later, this maze seems to occur on odd years like 2019, 2021, and 2023.

May Day Tour Maze #1 Walkthrough: How To Complete

If you find yourself on the first May Day Tour Maze , originally released in 2020, this walkthrough section is for you! The first maze can be correctly identified by looking for a single fruit to the left of the entrance and no cliffs in sight.

Follow our detailed walkthrough steps below to 100% complete the entire first May Day maze on the island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and unlock all of the rewards available for this event, including an item from Rover and up to 9 Bell Vouchers. Step 1: Dig Up A Bush & A Tree

Start off your maze adventure by picking up the Shovel item on the ground in front of you and digging up the bush blocking your native fruit to the left. Pick up the fruit and eat it, allowing you to dig up the tree blocking the path forward.

Step 2: Follow Pathways To Pick Up Worn Axe, Tree Branches, Stone

After you’ve dug up the tree in front of you to progress forward, a number of new pathways will open up allowing you to pick up some tree branches, stone, and most importantly the Worn Axe.

Importantly, you should only use the Worn Axe to chop down trees. Don’t use the Worn Axe to break rocks or you won’t be able to properly complete the maze as it will break too soon!

Step 3: Chop Down The Top Left Tree With Worn Axe

Once you’ve gathered up all the materials you can find in the pathways, head to the top left of the maze to encounter a tree blocking off access to two native fruit and one tree branch behind it.

You’ll want to use the Worn Axe to chop down this tree and grab the items its blocking, although this will sadly destroy your axe. They didn’t call it the Worn Axe for nothing!

Step 4: Break Rock in Bottom Left for Iron Nuggets

After chopping down that tree using the Worn Axe, head back to the bottom left of the maze to find a rock blocking off access to an Iron Nugget.

Go ahead and eat one of your fruits to gain fruit energy allowing you to break that rock and grab the Iron Nugget.

Step 5: Break Another Rock and Chop Another Tree in Bottom Right for Crafting

Once you’ve got your valuable Iron Nugget picked up, head back over to the bottom right of the maze to find yet another rock and tree blocking off access to a handy dandy DIY Crafting Workbench! Be sure to pick up the Wood on the path to here as well.

You’ll need to eat yet another piece of fruit that you should have in your inventory to gain energy, and then use that energy to break the second rock.

Then on the other side of the rock, another fruit and tree will await you. Once again, pick up the fruit and eat it to dig up the tree in your way.

Step 6: Craft A Flimsy Axe, Then Axe

Behind the rock you’ve now broken and tree dug up, you can find two DIY Crafting recipes for the Flimsy Axe and Axe items. You almost certainly will already own the recipes for these items, but Nintendo has you covered here just in case.

Just walk up to the DIY Crafting Workbench to craft both the Flimsy Axe, and then the Axe! You’ve got all the tools required to escape the maze and meet Rover now.

Missing the materials to craft these items? Be sure to retrace your steps and hunt down any materials on the ground that you forgot to pick up! If you need tree branches, you could also just shake a tree.

Step 7: Chop Trees for More Fruit

First, head over straight left once you leave the area with the DIY Crafting Workbench to find a tree blocking two native fruits. Chop this tree down with your brand new shiny Axe to get the two fruits.

Technically, you don’t need to get these fruits if you only want the main prize item and don’t care about anything else. But by getting these extra fruit, you can gather all nine Bell Vouchers available on the island!

Next, walk back over to the area on the left side of the maze where you found the Iron Nugget just a bit earlier and chop down what should be the final remaining tree in the maze, besides the three in a row at the north end.

Step 8: Chop The Final 3 Trees North To Find Rover!

Follow the linear path behind the chopped down tree to pick up the third and final native fruit you’ll need for the Bell Vouchers until you find a row of three trees in a row at the very top of the island.

Use your handy Axe to chop down all three trees blocking your way and advance through to the campsite where you can find Rover sitting down! Chat with Rover to have this friendly cat introduce himself and give you the prize reward for completing the maze — Rover’s Briefcase .

Bonus Step 9: Dig Bushes & Break Rocks To Get Bell Vouchers

The first group of 4 Bell Vouchers can be found just to the left of Rover’s campsite behind some bushes. Just dig up the bushes to open up access to the four Bell Vouchers previously blocked off and pick them up!

A second group of 5 more Bell Vouchers can be accessed by digging the bushes north of Rover’s campsite allowing access to the outer ‘ring’ of the island. Follow the outside path of the hedge fences all the way to the top left, and then straight down to the bottom left.

You’ll find a set of three rocks blocking off the set of 5 Bell Vouchers, which you can destroy by eating the three remaining fruit you should have sitting in your inventory. Break those rocks after eating the fruit to get your final reward and finish the May Day tour island!

May Day Tour Maze #2 (Released 2021) Walkthrough: How To Complete

f you find yourself on the second May Day Tour Maze , originally released in 2021, this walkthrough section is for you! The second maze can be correctly identified by looking for two fruits to the left of the entrance arranged in a diagonal fashion, and multiple cliffs in sight.

Follow our detailed walkthrough steps below to 100% complete the entire second May Day maze on the island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and unlock all of the rewards available for this event, including an item from Rover and up to 9 Bell Vouchers. You can also watch the video version embedded below.

Step #1: Dig Bush & Tree With Shovel

Start the May Day Maze #2 by picking up the Shovel tool item found on the ground, and use the Shovel to dig up the bush towards the right with fruit behind it. Pick up the piece of Fruit , eat it , and use the Shovel to dig up the tree above .

Step #2: Pick Up 2 Wood, 2 Fruit, 1 Softwood In Three Areas

After digging up the tree, you can access multiple new areas of the maze. First, pick up the 2 Wood in the immediate center area . Next, walk to the far right area of the maze , jump over the water gap, and pick up 2 Fruit near a rock .

Finally, walk back to the far left area of the maze , dig up a bush in your path, jump over the water gap, and pick up 1 Softwood . You can also pick up the Ladder DIY recipe, but this is not required.

Step #3: Break Rock, Tree & Pick Up 2 Softwood, 2 Fruit

Eat 1 Fruit and use your Shovel to break the rock directly above you . Proceed up, then to the right across the water gap, and pick up 2 Softwood .

Next, eat 1 Fruit and dig the tree to the left . After clearing it, walk down and across the water gap to pick up 2 Fruit .

Step #4: Return To Right Side, Pick Up Fruit & Hardwood

Retrace your steps returning to the very right side of the island again where you picked up 2 Fruit earlier.

Eat 1 Fruit , break the rock directly below , pick up and eat 1 Fruit, and dig up the next tree to the left. Then pick up 2 Hardwood and walk up across the water gap.

Step #5: Dig Tree & Pick Up 2 Wood, 1 Softwood, 1 Fruit

Eat 1 Fruit and dig up the tree above you after crossing the water gap.

Pick up the 1 Softwood to the left area across another water gap, the 1 Fruit towards the top right , and the 2 Wood sneakily hiding behind two rows of hedge fencing .

Step #6: Return To Left Side & Pick Up 2 Hardwood

Retrace your steps returning to the very left side of the island again where the Ladder DIY was located.

Walk north on the left side across the water gap towards the DIY Workbench can be seen. Eat 1 Fruit to break the rock above you and pick up 2 Hardwood .

Step #7: Craft Ladder At DIY Workbench

If you’ve followed our directions correctly, y ou should now have 4 pieces of Wood, Softwood, and Hardwood — if not, retrace your steps and pick up everything!

That’s enough materials to craft a Ladder at the DIY Workbench , so go ahead and do just that.

Step #8: Climb Cliff To Get Worn Axe & Return To Top Right Side

After crafting a Ladder, walk straight down across the water gap and climb up on the Cliff holding a toolbox item using your Ladder.

Pick up the Worn Axe found on top of the Cliff, climb back down using your Ladder, and retrace your steps returning to the top right side of the island with a vertical row of three water gaps.

Step #9: Chop Down Tree With Worn Axe & Pick Up 2 Fruit On Cliff

Once at the top right area of the maze, walk left over middle water gap , and use your Worn Axe item to chop down the tree to the left . You can either dig up the stump or sit on it to pass.

Next, climb up the cliff with fruit using your Ladder, pick up 2 Fruit , and retrace your steps returning to the top left area of the maze where the DIY Workbench is.

Step #10: Dig Up 2 Trees & Climb Cliff With 3 Fruit

Walk up past the DIY Workbench where you previously destroyed a rock, and eat 2 Fruit . Dig up the two trees blocking passage to the right.

Next, proceed down and climb up the cliff sporting fruit with your Ladder. Pick up the 3 Fruit and c limb back down the cliff to the right .

Step #11: Dig Bush & Tree To Climb Cliff With Rover

Walk to the right digging up the bush in the way, hopping over the water gap, and walking in a loop around the right side area of the maze until you are at the bottom of the three water gaps in the area.

Move up hopping over the three water gaps in a row until you are standing in front of the tree near Rover. Eat 1 Fruit and dig up the tree allowing you to climb up the final cliff with your Ladder to meet Rover.

Step #12: Talk To Rover

Congratulations! You’ve successfully completed this year’s May Day Tour maze. Make sure to speak with Rover, so you can listen to some new dialogue from this returning cat and ensure you receive a prize from him in the mail tomorrow!

Animal Crossing players meeting Rover for the very first time will receive the Rover’s Briefcase item, while veteran players who already completed the May Day Tour last year will receive the brand new Rover’s Photo item.

Bonus Step #13: Climb Down To Left For Bell Vouchers

To completely finish the May Day Tour maze, you’ll want to follow a few more bonus steps allowing access to the 9 Bell Vouchers found on this island.

First, climb down the cliff on the left side and dig up the bush in front of you. Pick up the 4 Bell Vouchers accessible right below where the bush was.

Bonus Step #14: Walk Along Top Of Island & Pick Up 2 Fruit

Continue walking along the top side of the island until you reach a rock in the very top left corner. Eat 1 Fruit and break the rock to pick up 2 Fruit .

Bonus Step #15: Walk Down Beach To Bottom Left & Get Bell Vouchers

Walk down the left side beach towards the very bottom and eat 3 Fruit . Break the 3 rocks in a row and pick up the final 5 Bell Vouchers waiting for you!

How To Reset May Day Maze Island If You Mess Up & Get Stuck

If you happen to mess up while trying to escape the May Day Maze by digging up or chopping down the wrong trees and rocks, you can easily reset the island completely! You might need to do this to get all nine Bell Voucher prizes, or even just make it to Rover, as it’s not hard to screw up.

To reset the May Day island and maze in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, open your NookPhone and launch the Rescue Service app with the helicopter icon found on the second page. For just 100 Nook Miles, Resetti’s rescue crew can help you out by resetting the maze and bringing you back to the beginning of the island!

If you’ve already left the May Day Tour island though, you won’t be able to use Rescue Services to solve your problem. May Day Tour Maze Prizes & Rewards

There are three different prizes you can win during the May Day Event by visiting the May Day Tour island and completing the maze! You won’t actually be able to take these items with you in your inventory though — they’ll instead be mailed to you by Dodo Airlines or Rover and you can find them in your mailbox at home tomorrow.

How To Get Rover’s Briefcase

If it’s your very first time completing the May Day event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you will receive the Rover’s Briefcase item as your prize for finishing the maze! When you reach the end of the maze in the top right, you’ll discover the returning special character Rover sitting down on the ground waiting for you.

After speaking with Rover, he’ll mail you his exclusive Rover’s Briefcase item as a prize and keepsake for finding him through the tricky island maze! Unfortunately, this item cannot be customized though.

By the way, the Rover’s Briefcase item cannot be ordered from your Nook Shopping catalog. So be sure to hang onto the item in your storage if you wish to use it in the future!

How To Get Rover’s Photo

If you’ve already completed the May Day Tour Maze previously, then you’ll receive the a new and different item upon finishing the event a second time! When you reach the end of the maze in the top right, you’ll meet special character Rover once again for the second time in New Horizons.

This time around, he’ll send you his exclusive Rover’s Photo item as a prize for you to enjoy. It’ll arrive in your mailbox the next day.

How To Get Bell Vouchers

Throughout both version of the May Day island, there’s one other type of prize you can find — Bell Vouchers! Each version of the maze features two different groups of Bell Vouchers can be found on the ground, with one group being rather easy to access, and the other quite a bit trickier requiring perfect completion.

Each of these Bell Vouchers can be sold for 3,000 Bells each to Timmy & Tommy at Nook’s Cranny! We’ll do the math for you quickly — that’s 12,000 Bells if you pick up the easy four Bell Vouchers and 27,000 Bells if you get all nine Bell Vouchers on the island.

How Many Times Can You Do The May Day Maze?

Each player on an Animal Crossing: New Horizons island can only travel to the May Day Tour island and complete the May Day maze once per each year of the event. It’s not possible to trade May Day Tickets with other players either, because it’s not an actual item held in your pockets.

However, if you’d like to play the event and maze more than once, you can always create a second player character on your island with their own house. Then you should be able to use a second May Day Ticket on that character!

Can You Take Home Bushes & Flowers From May Day Tour Island?

As tempting as it might be, don’t bother going around digging up all of the bushes on the May Day Tour island for keepsake purposes because you won’t be able to bring them with you. All of your items will be lost when you leave the island, except for the Rover’s Briefcase and Bell Voucher prizes you may have earned.

To get some of those beautiful bushes for your own island, be sure to hit up the special character Leif next time you spot him visiting your Resident Services plaza!

Where Are My May Day Tour Island Prizes & Items?

If you’ve gotten the Rover’s Briefcase, Rover’s Photo, and any handy Bell Vouchers on the May Day Tour island — don’t expect to find them in your inventory once you leave and find yourself home on your own island!

Don’t worry though, they haven’t disappeared from you. Instead, you can find either Rover reward and any Bell Vouchers you managed to pick up on your journey safely in your mailbox sent by Dodo Airlines or Rover. Be sure to check the mail before panicking!

May Day Maze 2024

Now that May is here, we’re starting to get more of the summer bugs around. I caught my first banded dragonfly of the year on Wednesday.

Last night, June asked me to play a treasure hunt game. She only gave me three minutes, but I only needed about half that long. It was near my southeastern bridge.

I took it back to June, and she opened it up for me. My prize was a hand-knit tank. I’ll never wear it, but thank you June! 😆

Poppy the squirrel was camping at the campsite. She’s super cute, but I didn’t ask her to move in.

The annual May Day tour is available this week, so I headed out to the special island today. There are two different May Day mazes in the game, and they alternate each year. This year’s maze is the same one we got in 2020 and 2022.

I made my way through the maze, and I got lost a few times. 😛 But at least I didn’t mess up and didn’t have to restart the maze. At the end, I found my old buddy Rover. It’s nice to see him again, even if it’s just once a year in this game.

I made sure to collect all nine of the bell vouchers before returning to Forest.

Here are a few other quick notes about this past week:

• June was sick with a cold on Tuesday. I gave her some medicine, and she rewarded me with a simple parka.
• That same day, Wisp gave me a simple stool.
• Yesterday, I retrieved Gulliver’s phone parts for him. He sent me another sombrero in the mail today.

Oh my gosh I LOVE poppy. you’re really lucky to get her in your campsite. Fun fact, did you know that her name comes poppy flowers? She’s in my top 20 villagers.

You could give her a flower shop along with red pansies since they look similar to poppy flowers. IF you get the chance to invite her.

The alternative rock band Mayday Parade formed in Tallahassee, Florida, US and incorporated different genres such as emo and pop-punk into their music, which gave their sound a sense of catchiness, energy, and sincerity.

The band formed in 2005 and just a year later they put out their self released EP “Tales Told By Dead Friends”. The band was quite tenacious to get the word out about their music and followed the Vans Warped Tour in order to sell the EP to concert goers. They were also eager to start touring and performing their music live, which lead to them touring with notable acts like Plain White T’s and Melee.

After going on tours to support their debut EP Mayday Parade recorded and released their debut album “A Lesson in Romantics” in 2007. The album was released on Fearless records and would be the last album to feature the main songwriter and lead singer, Jason Lancaster. The album contained several notable singles such as “When I Get Home, You’re So Dead” and “Jamie All Over” and it received success in the charts by reaching the No. 8 spot on the US Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. The band also played several festivals to support the album like Vans Warped Tour and Give it a Name Festival.

Although losing Jason Lancaster from the band’s lineup would seem like it would strongly impact the band, the pianist Derek Sanders was able to pick up lead vocals duty and do a compelling job. Rhythm guitarist Brooks Betts and Lead guitarist Alex Garcia were able to create intricate dynamics for the band’s sound and the bass player Jeremy Lenzo and drummer Jake Bundrick were able to powerfully hold down the rhythm. The band’s second album “Anywhere But Here” conveyed that the band was able to hold up without Jason Lancaster and showed the band approaching a more pop-punk approach to making music as opposed to a direct rock and roll approach.

Mayday Parade seems to be gaining more critical and commercial success with each album they release. Their third studio album, which is self-titled reached the No. 12 spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and their fourth studio album “Monsters in the Closet” reached No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the Independent Albums chart. The album experimented more with symphonic rock sounds, which gave the album an epic quality and featured hit singles such as “Ghosts” and “Girls”. The band has also garnered attention for some of their interesting songs they have covered such as “We Are The Champions” by Queen and “Somebody That I Used To Know” by Gotye.

Mayday Parade is one of the most persistent touring bands out there on the scene. They were recognized as the hardest-working touring band in 2010 having played 194 shows in that year, which included large festival dates such as the Soundwave Festival and the Slam Dunk Festival.

The show itself went a lot better than expected! I wasn't too fond of the first band (As it is) but when (This wild life) came on stage the mood of the room hit a sweet calm sway that swept everyone, and when he sung the song about his mother and everyone lit the place with their phones it was so moving and sweet! Next came (Real friends) and that is when the moshing began which was amazing! I was able to mosh from the edge side to the front middle area and i moshed my brains out!! And finally we had (Mayday parade) who put on a much better than expected performance! As much as i enjoyed their performance i was just surrounded by little scene girls who didn't wanna mosh or be close to people yet were near the very front. Even though they didnt mosh i continued to jump and push around and to signal fellow moshers that "Hey! Let's mosh yo!" in which some came and moshed with me and we got the girls to move back cause of our awesome moshing! My favorite in crowd experience of that show was when Derek of Mayday Parade threw his water bottle and all i saw were these little hands reach up for it and i just jump and grab it and pour it all over my head just to whip my hair around and get everyone around me wet. Never have i seen a girl look so angry at me as the girl to my right. All in all it was an amazing show performance wise but the crowd was just garbage. Just little pansy girls with their phones out constantly taking videos and asking Mayday Parade to take their pants off and have their babies.

I saw Mayday Parade a few months ago. They’re not your average rock band. They’re like a blend of alternative and punk, and they’re pretty damn awesome. I saw them at the Metro in Sydney back in February. I was able to get tickets for the moshpit, so I could be up close.

Let me tell you now that even though I was so close, the sound was exhilarating. Everything was crisp and clean. I could feel Derek’s voice vibrating into my chest and out through my own mouth. I sang with him, on pitch and on key to Ghosts. Everyone around me was singing along.

His clothing choice was a bit strange. He choose to wear an American flag sleeveless tee, which didn’t bode well with the all Aussie crowd. The experience of seeing Mayday Parade live and being the moshpit left a very good impression on me. Ghosts is a beautiful song that’s about relationships and love.

There’s true emotion in that song and everyone was swaying with the vocals, and singing along even when they all stopped playing their instruments. The venue was amazing, everything was spotless and people were considerate not to throw their trash onto the floor. I also picked up a signed copy of Monsters in the Closet, which was released late last year.

I didn't know that Mayday Parade was touring with 3 other bands, hence I was quite taken aback by the opening sets which dragged for more than 2 hours. However, I must say that I was extremely pleased to have been able to know bands like Pvris and Tonight Alive through this concert as those 2 bands were great and I would love to see more of them in the future. Both lead singers were extremely charismatic and had great vocals! Finally, the best part of the night came, albeit late. Mayday Parade managed to get me all excited and high, and I was pleased with the set list. The band played nonstop for a good 1 1/2 hour, especially for Derek, who hardly took any breaks in between as he switched from the loud songs, to the slow ones like Miserable at Best and Three Cheers for Five Years right after. The concert ended on a great note and the $25 was definitely worth it!

The concert was great. Derek sounds amazing live, and so do the backing vocals. When the band slowed things down and played miserable at best and terrible things it was probably the best part. I could feel the emotion and I got teary eyed and choked up. Derek was playing the piano and singing with no guitar and no drums. He stopped singing and you could hear everyone in the room singing along. The look on his face was priceless. After the band played about 14 songs they went backstage and everyone changed "stay! stay! stay!" and the lights went on and everyone went crazy. everyone started chanting "mayday! mayday! mayday!" and they came back out and finished with two more songs. I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend seeing Mayday Parade.

I have been into this band for nearly 5 years now but have only started going to big concerts in the past 2. Mayday Parade's concert last night was one of the best i've ever been to.

It was so lively and they did songs from various albums, not simply their latest release. Really good atmosphere and very great vibes throughout the show.

Derek paid attention to the audience and included us in the songs.

I'll definitely look forward to seeing them in Exeter again.

They visited Manila once again and I was more than lucky to witness them perform live at New Frontier last May 5th. It was surreal like every song hits you to the core, which are my go-to when I want to listen to something so good. Hearing them live is even so better! Mayday Parades is indeed an emotion! I wish they could visit the Philippines again, soon. Or better yet have all my favorite bands come together at Bazooka Rocks!!!!

mdp is always so good live and they didn't disappoint yesterday at all. all the bands were great PVRIS really got the crowd going and major league was a great follow up. tonight alive was a great opening for mayday parade and once they got up there the energy in the room was incredible. Derek, like always, got into it and the whole band shook the place. 10/10

I loved it, nice crowd, nice little mosh. Made a few new friends. Had a soaked clothes from all the sweat and energy the place had. I am going to see them again any chance I have. The other bands as well that was with them complemented them well (KnucklePuck and Milestones for this show). Crowd sang along and everything was perfect for a concert.

It was awesome and lit as hell, I wish it never ended #maydayparade #foreveremotour was the best concert I've ever been to, since the 1st one I went to. The staff was cool - the hype of everyone & everything was soo cool. No complaints here!!!!! Hope they come back again.

Hands down the BEST show I've ever seen. The lighting was perfect and the band was even better. I've been listening to mayday parade since I was in middle school, 13 ish years. To see them live and in person was absolutely amazing. I Can't wait to see them again!

In honour of May Day, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has introduced a new island with a maze filled with fruits, Bell Vouchers, and countless dead ends that players can explore until May 7.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons started the month by celebrating May Day, a public holiday devoted to labourers and the working class. Starting May 1, New Horizons has added a new labyrinth island with some free goodies and brought back Rover the cat, a character that appeared in previous games.

Though the labyrinth itself isn't too hard to navigate (at least once you get your bearings), things become a bit more complicated if you're interested in snagging up all of its rewards. Here's how to make your way through the maze and get all of the Bell Vouchers.

How To Start The May Day Tour

First off, you will need to head over to Resident Services and speak to Tom Nook, who will tell you about the May Day Tour and provide you with a May Day Ticket. According to Nook, the tour is “vacation from your island vacation,” which sounds fun but still requires some work if you want to collect all of the tour's goodies.

It's also important to note that this ticket can only be used once by players. However, if you're sharing your game with others, you can rest assured that you will all be able to visit the island and obtain its rewards.

After you've spoken to Nook, you can head over to the airport, where the ticket will be waiting for you, and depart for the May Day island.

How To Get Through The Maze

Once you arrive, you'll notice a large labyrinth filled with various obstacles in front of you. At first, the challenge might not seem very difficult, but you'll soon find out that you've been stripped of all of the items you're holding once you land. However, there's no need to worry -- the maze has everything you need.

At the beginning of the maze, you'll find a shovel lying on the floor. After you pick it up, you can use it to remove the shrub on the left that is blocking the way to a fruit. We also recommend removing the two shrubs at the bottom left (between the start of the labyrinth and Wilbur ) -- you'll find out why later.

After that, you'll have to eat the fruit in order to dig up the tree blocking the rest of the maze. Next, head straight, over the first hole in the ground, past another tree blocking two fruits, over a second hole, before turning left. You will come across three pieces of wood, which you can collect. After that, go back the way you came, towards the middle path you walked previously, but this time walk upwards before you get to the first hole. You will then come across a hole on your left, which you can jump across. You'll come across another tree blocking a section of the labyrinth but you can ignore it for now. Instead, travel downwards, picking up the tree branch, and follow that path until you come across three single bushes.

You'll notice three tree branches on the other side of three holes in front of the single bushes. You'll need to collect as many crafting tools as you can, so jump across each of the three holes and make sure you pick up the tree branches, stone, and worn axe. After that, go back the way you came from and use the worn axe to cut down the first tree you come across (blocking two fruits). The axe will immediately break after you do this, but that's okay -- you need the fruit more. After you've collected the fruits, head back down the path (where you just came from) and jump over the first hole surrounded by single bushes.

You'll then come across a rock. Use your shovel and a fruit to destroy it, pick up the iron nugget, ignore the tree, and head all the way back to the center path and take the first rightmost path. You'll see a rock blocking your path, destroy it with your shovel and fruit, and pick up the fruit and two DIY recipes . After that, eat a fruit and dig up the tree blocking your way, which will give you access to a DIY workbench, where you can craft an axe.

From there, it's pretty smooth sailing. Head upwards and go left, jumping over the three holes near the single bushes. In front of you, you'll see a tree blocking two fruit. Cut it down, collect the fruit, and head upwards, to the left of the maze, where you'll come back to the center path. Jump over the hole near the leftmost single bush and follow the path. You'll come across a tree, which you'll need to cut down, and another fruit. After that, you'll see three trees in a row, cut them all down and make your way to the end of the maze.

There, you'll find Rover the cat at a campsite surrounded by flowers and shrubs. Rover will reward you with Rover’s Briefcase, a furnished briefcase covered in stickers. Though it's nice to see Rover, we're still not certain what his appearance means and whether or not he'll return at some point again.

Collecting All Of The Bell Vouchers (And What To Do If You Can't)

At Rover's camp, you can dig up the shrub on the left-hand side, which is blocking four Bell Vouchers. After that, you'll have to dig up the shrubs located at the top of the island, on the left-hand side. Continue left, making your way along the outskirts of the island. At the bottom left, you'll see three stones blocking the path. Eat the remaining fruit and destroy the stones with your shovel to collect five Bell Vouches.

There are nine Bell Vouchers in total, so you'll need three remaining fruits after you've completed the maze. If you don't have enough, you can use the Rescue Service to transport back to the beginning of the labyrinth, but you'll have to do it all over again. Each Bell Voucher can be sold for 3,000 Bells, so you'll get a total 27,000 Bells if you collect them all.

How To Get Your Rewards

After you've collected all of the Bell Vouchers and have spoken to Rover, you can head back to the plane and back to your island. The rewards (Rover’s Briefcase and the Bell Vouchers) will be sent to you in the mail. Unfortunately, anything else you pick up on the island will disappear from your inventory once you return to your island. So, if you're like us and spent time digging up shrubs and hoping to keep them, try not to be too disappointed.

About Mayday Parade

Mayday Parade is an American rock band from Tallahassee, Florida. 'Their debut EP Tales Told by Dead Friends was released in 2006, and sold over 50,000 copies without any label support. On July 10, 2007, Mayday Parade released their debut album A Lesson in Romantics. After signing to Fearless Records in 2006, the band also signed onto a major label with Atlantic Records in 2009. 2024 Summer Music Festivals: Where to Get Tickets

All Your Friends Festival — Fall Out Boy, Billy Talent, Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional, Plain White T’s, Fefe Dobson, The All-American Rejects, Silverstein, Mayday Parade, Gym Class Heroes and We the Kings, among other artists will be performing. All Your Friends Festival is set to take place at Burl’s Creek in Ontario, Canada from Aug. 24-25. Get your tickets here .

Broccoli City Festival —Megan Thee Stallion, Gunna, PARTYNEXTDOOR, KAYTRANADA, Victoria Monét, Key Glock, Sexyy Red, Teezo Touchdown, Fridayy, Baby Tate and Lil Yachty, and many more artists will be taking on the stage. The  Broccoli City Festival  will be taking place at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., from July 27-28. Get tickets here and here .

Essence Festival — Janet Jackson, Charlie Wilson, SWV, Tank and the Bangas, The Roots, Big Boi, Donell Jones, D-Nice, Ha Sizzle, Lloyd, Teedra Moses, T-Pain, and Usher will be performing. Faster Horses Festival — The lineup includes Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, HARDY, Cody Johnson, Old Dominion, Riley Green, Tyler Hubbard, Ashley Cooke, and many more. LadyLand Festival — Celebrate Pride Month at the LadyLand Festival which will take place Under the K Bridge Park in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, on June 28-29. Minnesota Yacht Club Festival — Gwen Stefani, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alanis Morissette, The Black Crowes, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, The Head and the Heart, Morgan Wade, The Offspring, Hippo Campus and Gary Clark Jr., and many more will be performing at the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival . Mosswood Meltdown Festival — B-52s, The Mummies, Redd Kross, Pure Hell, Hunx & His Punx, Big Freedia and more artists will be taking on the stage at the  Mosswood Meltdown Festival . The festival takes place at Mosswood Park in Oakland, California, July 6-7. Get tickets h e re and here .

Music at the Intersection Festival — The festival includes performances from Black Pumas, Big Boi, Lettuce, Chingy, Chaka Khan, Trombone Shorty, Esperanza Spalding, Samara Joy, Jordan Ward, Cimafunk and Lady Wray. Palm Tree Music Festival — Catch the Swedish House Mafia, Kygo, Sofi Tukker, Purple Disco Machine, and more in Hamptons, New York on June 22. The festival will also head to Lake Tahoe on July 12, featuring performances by Gryffin and Disco Lines. Get tickets here and here .

Rocklahoma Festival — Performers include Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed and Slipknot, Evanescence, A Day to Remember, Lamb of God, Halestorm, Skillet, Mastodon and more. Summerfest — Summerfest has returned! SZA, Goo Goo Dolls, Kane Brown, Maroon 5, Tyler Childers, Keith Urban, AJR, Lil Uzi Vert, Lily Rose, MUNA, Carly Rae Jepsen, Chase Rice, Amy Grant, Lil Yachty, Mötley Crüe, and more will take on the stage. It took no time for 2024 to become the year for R&B tours. The year’s first half has already seen a horde of R&B artists from all walks of life on the road.

R&B veterans such as Keith Sweat , Tamar Braxton , Tamia and Joe , Ledisi , Tank , Carl Thomas, Keri Hilson, and others reunited with their core fans, taking them on a nostalgic journey through their catalogs.

Contemporary artists like Tinashe , Eric Bellinger , Arin Ray , Jamila Woods, October London, Destin Conrad, and Mariah the Scientist also played shows.

With summer here, there are even more R&B concerts to anticipate, like Usher ’s Past Present Future Tour , Maxwell ’s The Serenade Tour with Jazmine Sullivan , Missy Elliott’s Outta This World Tour with Ciara and Busta Rhymes, and many more.
