Looking for more time in the saddle, and a leisurely midday break to eat or explore? The Deluxe Scenic Float & Ride provides a perfect Montana day, at a more casual pace. With a later start time, you can ease into your day of adventures. Begin at the Ranch with a 2-hour horseback ride the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness where you'll have ample time to take in all the breathtaking scenery possible.

After your ride, you'll take a break for lunch. You're welcome to bring your own to enjoy at picnic tables under a large covered gazebo at the ranch, while you take your time chatting with the wranglers and enjoying their scenic property. Alternatively, you can explore the various dining and shopping options available in the lively town of Gardiner.

Just be sure you're on your way down the mountain by 2:00pm  to check in at the raft office for a relaxing and enjoyable scenic river float. $100/adult, $90/child (12 + under) trip length: 9 river miles, 3-4 hours tues – sun start times: 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm 5 people minimum*.

Enjoy our thrilling Class II & III Half-Day Whitewater Rafting trip on the Yellowstone River and cap it off with a relaxing soak at Yellowstone Hot Springs . This is a great trip for those with children 40 lbs & up!

For your Yellowstone River float trip, you will meet us at our rafting office 30 minutes before your scheduled trip. We will get you geared up and introduced to your river guide. It is just a short drive from our office to the river, where your experience will begin! You will get a great mix of big splashes and calm scenic stretches, taking in the views and wildlife of the Greater Yellowstone Area.

After 9 miles on the river, we will take-out at Yellowstone Hot Springs. The hot springs are nestled along the Yellowstone River, settled between two mountain ranges. There are changing rooms at the facility so you can get out of your river gear and into your bathing suit.

Unwind and enjoy peace and serenity while soaking in the mineral-rich pools. After an hour of relaxation at the hot springs, we will drive you back to our rafting office. You can expect to be done with your trip no later than 7:00 pm – allowing you plenty of time to grab a nice dinner in town before calling it a night.

Includes:  Depending on the time of the time of summer, wet suits, water shoes, and splash jackets are included.

Please Note:  We will be picking you up from Yellowstone Hot Springs. If you would like a dry change of clothes brought to you, please leave them in a bag with our office staff. We will make sure the driver has them inside for you at pick-up.

Flowing through the picturesque Paradise Valley, our Yellowstone River float trips offer some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere. Due to its limited access for wading anglers, the Yellowstone River is the perfect river for fly fishing from a drift boat .

Fishing here is mainly done from hard sided McKenzie style drift boats, which are comfortable, safe and well suited to this large western river.

Divided into three sections for logistics only, this river is as diverse as it is long. An angler on the Yellowstone River could fish for more than a week straight and never see the same piece of water.

Whether looking to catch Yellowstone cutthroat trout on the upper river, have solid action closer to the Livingston "town" stretches, or looking for a big brown trout on the lower river,  our  Yellowstone River Guide Trips   offer something for everyone. Set out on a scenic float down the Yellowstone River with a one-hour horseback ride for the perfect day of outdoor sightseeing.

 9 am trip itinerary:.

• 8:30 am: Check-in at the Corrals
• 9:00 am: Horseback ride into the Absaroka Mountains
• 11:00 am: Check-in at Yellowstone Raft Company
• 11:30 am: Scenic float trip down the Yellowstone River

Please allow 30 minutes to reach the corrals from the town of Gardiner and arrive 30 minutes prior to horse departure times to adjust your stirrups!  You may want to bring a snack to keep your energy levels up.

• Please arrive 30 minutes prior to trip time to fill out paperwork and get geared up.
• Plan for 5 hours round-trip.  All of our adventures take place outdoors; therefore, we cannot guarantee the trip length or size of rapids due to water flow.
• Transportation to and from the river is provided.
• The weather in Southwest Montana is ever-changing and often unpredictable. Please dress accordingly, water shoes and fleece are strongly recommended. 
• Long Pants and closed-toed shoes are required for horseback.
• Helmets and life jackets are always provided as well as wetsuits, splash jackets, and booties when needed!

Saddle and Paddle FAQ's

Dress according to the weather. We can provide cool-weather gear, but we recommend fleece.  Sunglasses and sunblock are recommended. Your feet will likely get wet in the raft, but we do provide water shoes.

Long pants and closed toed shoes are required. You will be riding at a higher elevation and through the wilderness so we do recommend taking a light jacket or sweatshirt with you. The Horseback Rides do go in the rain unless the Wranglers deem the trails are unsafe. You will need to bring your own rain gear, the ranch does not supply clothing of any type.

Rafting: Please bring a water bottle on the raft if you want. Everything gets wet, so plan on leaving electronics in your car or hotel room. Our professional photographer takes photos of every whitewater adventure that you'll be able to view and/or buy at Yellowstone Raft Company's office immediately following your trip.

Our professional photographer takes photos of every whitewater adventure that you'll be able to view and/or buy at Yellowstone Raft Company's office immediately following your trip.

You can be inexperienced and ages 5 & older for express trip, 7 & older for full day trip, but each rider must be capable of riding their own horse. If you have questions or concerns, please call us at 406-848-7777.  Helmets available on request for horseback rides.

Please be at the Corrales at Hells A Roarin' Outfitters, (164 Crevice Rd. Gardiner, MT) 30 minutes prior to your ride. You may check-in under your name and please tell the wrangler you reserved with Yellowstone Raft Company. Horseback rides must be reserved to ensure there will be a horse waiting for you. Horses are limited on rides so be sure to call us or reserve online as soon as you know your desired ride date.

There is no weight limit and all abilities are welcome. If you any questions or concerns, please call us.

*Please note, you will need to allow 30 minutes to reach the corrals from Gardiner town and arrive 30 minutes prior to horse departure times. Please be aware this is a gravel road. There is RV parking available at the corrals.
