Fans enter the virtual  Waiting Room  prior to onsale time before joining the  Smart Queue  – which acts as a ‘virtual line’, helping us protect you and your tickets in a more effective way.

The time you join the Waiting Room does not determine your place in the Smart Queue, so we recommend joining at least 10 minutes prior to the event going on sale.

When the sale begins, the Smart Queue will open and everyone in the Waiting Room is given a place in line. Those who did not join the Waiting Room will be placed at the end of the line.

  • Confirm you have a valid form of payment in your account with current email and billing information. This will make checkout a breeze.

Hints and tips for improving your chances of getting Elton John tickets

Make sure you have a my ticketmaster account.

Get the basics covered before tickets go on sale by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. If you don’t have a Ticketmaster Account then make sure you sign up in advance –  Ticketmaster.com.au .

Sign into your My Ticketmaster account ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, account information, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Keep your options open with ‘Best Available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as they’re progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

Don’t refresh your screen

Stick to one window while you’re in the  Waiting Room  and when you’re being pushed through  the Smart Queue  and always resist the urge to refresh.

Hitting the refresh button means you’ll lose your place in the queue and, as frustrating as it can get, patience is the only way to win this game. Ticketmaster is equipped with sophisticated systems that are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Remember: there are a lot of fans

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event. When a popular event goes on sale there are hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of customers all attempting to purchase tickets at the same time. Tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and when an act is this popular, sometimes they go very quickly.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

Elton John will bring his  Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour back to stages around Australia and New Zealand in January 2023. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.au.

Elton John Just Announced His Very Final Australian Tour For January 2023

Elton John Just Announced His Very Final Australian Tour For January 2023

Chris Singh

Elton John’s road to retirement has been long and winding, stuttered due to the pandemic and stretched by some length delays to his globetrotting Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. The legendary artist toured Australia back in 2019 with what was meant to be his final ever shows in this part of the world, but in a fortuitous twist, Elton John does Australia once again come January 2023. Announcing a round of encore shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and – for the first time ever – Newcastle, Elton John returns at the top of next year for what has been confirmed as his final run down under before he retires from touring altogether.

The reason for this is quite simple. Although 2019 was supposed to be his last time in both Australia and New Zealand, he was forced to cancel on the kiwis and reschedule his shows at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium. The ‘Rocket Man’ singer is set to honour those shows but clearly thought he might as well pop over the ditch for a bit of an encore to 2019’s wildly successful tour, which moved over 700,000 tickets across 34 Australian and six New Zealand dates just months before Covid-19 came along like a wet blanket.

Aussie Elton John fans rejoice! The music legend has revealed he will be stopping Down Under for a second time during his final music tour before his retirement.

The Rocketman singer announced he would be returning to Australia and New Zealand after adding encore shows to his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

He made the announcement on Wednesday, sharing a video to his social media pages.

“In 2020 I promised that when I came back to finish my interrupted farewell, I’d perform some encore shows. I love your part of the world dearly and cannot wait to share these concerts with you!” he captioned the clip.

John will be playing four shows in Australia in January 2023 in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and – for the first time ever – Newcastle.

“A huge thankyou to Auckland for keeping their tickets to the rescheduled shows for so long. I promised back in 2020 that when we returned we would take the opportunity to play a few encore shows.

“I know the last tickets sold fast and I wanted to be able to say farewell to you all. And Newcastle, I’m finally coming your way for my first Newcastle show ever!

“Join me for a night of memories, singalongs, and a fond farewell.”

Here are the dates and locations for the new Aussie shows:

Newcastle: January 10, 2023 at McDonald Jones Stadium

Melbourne: January 13, 2023 at AAMI Park

Sydney: January 18, 2023 at Allianz Stadium

Brisbane: January 21, 2023 at Suncorp Stadium

The music icon will be returning Down Under in 2023.

Tickets go on sale on Monday, August 1, with pre sale tickets also available.

More information can be found on the official tour website .

The 75-year-old embarked on his farewell tour in September 2019, setting out to play 300 shows across five continents.

In what was meant to be his last performances in Australia, John played 19 shows Down Under, ending his visit with his final show in Sydney on March 2020.

Fans have been anxiously waiting for an announcement like this, after he hinted he would take the opportunity to return to Australia after Covid forced him to reschedule a number of tour dates in New Zealand.

When first announcing his farewell tour, John said it was time for him to look towards the next chapter of his life.

“It’s time to come off the road so I can fully embrace the next important chapter of my life,” the singer said.

“After the tour finishes, I’m very much looking forward to closing off that chapter of my life by saying farewell to life on the road. I need to dedicate more time to raising my children.”

The British band responsible for one of the biggest songs of the last decade has just announced a string of shows.

Another major music festival has been canned for good, citing rising costs and low ticket sales as a reason for its demise.

Justin Timberlake’s team have hit back over footage of the singer that’s circulated widely in the wake of his drunken driving arrest last week.

After being forced to reschedule two of his Aotearoa shows to January 2023, the Rocketman himself — Sir Elton John , of course — is adding a run of new shows to his multi-year  Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

The singer has today announced that he’s added five special ‘encore’ performances to the already epic run of his final tour, with new shows added for Newcastle , Melbourne , Sydney , Brisbane and Christchurch .

The  Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour kicked off way back in September 2018, and has spanned over 300 shows across five continents thus far. Of course, initial plans would’ve seen the singer retired by now, but COVID saw various parts of the tour schedule delayed and rescheduled for two years.

The very best of The Latch delivered straight to your inbox.

Now, John is back on the road in North America, where he will perform his final US show at the Los Angeles Dodger Stadium this November.

Two of the shows that had to be rescheduled were set in Auckland, and will now take place on Friday, January 27 and Saturday, January 28, 2023, but that’s not all the Aotearoa / NZ fans will be getting. As a bonus, thank you show, John has added a Tuesday, January 24 show in Christchurch, as well.

Of course, having made his way down to Aotearoa, it’s just a hop, skip and a jump away from Australia, so John has also added a string of Australian shows, as well.

In Australia, he’ll take the stage in Newcastle, NSW for the very first time, before moving on to Melbourne and Sydney. Finally, John’s very last Australian show will be held in sunny Brisbane on Saturday, January 21st, 2023.

Elton John Plays Final Concert of Farewell Tour: “It Will Stay With Me Forever”

The Rocket Man concluded his long-running "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour" in Stockholm

Elton John Plays Final Concert of Farewell Tour: “It Will Stay With Me Forever”

Sir Elton John played the final concert of his long-running farewell tour at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday night.

John’s final show featured a 23-song career-spanning setlist, including greatest hits “Bennie and the Jets,” “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Philadelphia Freedom,” as well as a three-song encore of “Cold Heart,” “Your Song,” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”

“When we set off on my final tour in 2018, I couldn’t have foreseen in my wildest dreams the twists and turns and the highs and lows this tour – and the whole world – would have experienced in the next five years,” John said in a statement following the concert. “And every step of the way, my fans have been there. They have stuck with me, they have supported me, they have been patient, and they have kept turning out for every single last show. Tonight has been magical. I’m trying to process it, and I don’t think it will sink in for a while yet that I’m finally finished touring. I can’t tell you how much I’m going to miss the fans and how much their support has humbled me – it will stay with me forever.”

During the set, Coldplay appeared via live video-link to toast John. “Elton, from all of us here, from all the bands and artists you’ve helped and inspired, we love you so much,” said frontman Chris Martin. “We are so grateful for everything you’ve done for the AIDS Foundation, anytime you’ve been kind to anybody. For everything you’ve done for LGBTQ. Everything you’ve done for fashion and eyewear. Everything you’ve done for sexiness, and love, and dressing gowns! Everything you’ve done for music, everything Bernie has done for lyrics, everything your band has done over the thousands of shows you’ve done. We love you so much, we’re going to miss you so much.”

See photos, video, and the setlist from John’s final night of touring below.

All told, John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour” spanned more than 300 show (including a headlining set at Glastonbury ), selling 5.7 million tickets and $900 million dollars. While the tour marks John’s final global outing, the 76-year-old musician hasn’t ruled out performing one-off shows in the future.

“It’s really important to make a distinction between Elton retiring from touring but Elton not playing his very last public performance for the very last time,” David Furnish, John’s husband and manager, previously told Billboard . “I know for a fact he will not be touring in any capacity. What you’re going to see is the possibility of a special one-off or a small residency in one venue for a limited period of time.”

Elton John wowed the crowd with an incredible Glastonbury headline show.

The “Rocket Man” singer brought Glastonbury 2023 to a climactic end with his headline performance on Sunday (25 June).

He was the last of three headliners to play the Pyramid Stage this weekend at Worthy Farm , Somerset, following on from Guns N’ Roses and Arctic Monkeys who performed on Saturday and Friday (25 and 24 June) respectively.

Follow along with all Glastonbury-related updates at our live blog here...

The career-spanning set included hits such as 1970’s “Your Song” and 1973’s “Bennie and the Jets”.

Glastonbury 2023, Sunday live: Elton John plays final UK show to one of festival’s biggest ever audiences

Taking the stage in a gold suit and red-tinted sunglasses, John said that he never thought he would ever play Glastonbury. The 76-year-old also suggested that this “may” be his last ever show in the UK.

Across his two-hour performance, John welcomed four guest stars: Brandon Flowers of The Killers , Jacob Lusk of Gabriels, Rina Sawayama , and Steven Sanchez.

Rumours that Paul McCartney and Britney Spear would join John on stage did not come to fruition. The Beatles legend was, however, spotted in the crowd enjoying himself.

Elton John brings out Rina Sawayama for ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’

See below for the songs that John played during the set:

  • “Pinball Wizard”
  • “The B**** is Back”
  • “Bennie and the Jets”
  • “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”
  • “I Guess That’s Why They Call it the Blues”
  • “Philadelphia Freedom”
  • “Are You Ready for Love” – performed with Jacob Lusk and the London Community Choir
  • “Sad Songs (Say So Much)”
  • “Someone Saved My Life Tonight”
  • “Until I Found You” – performed with Stephen Sanchez
  • “Your Song”
  • “Candle in the Wind”
  • “Tiny Dancer” – performed with Brandon Flowers
  • “ Don’t Go Breaking My Heart ” – performed with Rina Sawayama
  • “Crocodile Rock”
  • “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting”
  • “I’m Still Standing”
  • “Cold Heart / Sacrifice” – performed without Dua Lipa
  • “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down on Me”
  • “Rocket Man”

Elsewhere during the performance, John paid a touching tribute to his late friend, the musician George Michael who would have turned 60 on Sunday (25 June). The singer dedicated his performance of 1974’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” to Michael.

Crowd figures are not yet available for John’s headline show, but viewers at home were stunned by the size of the audience shown on the BBC broadcast .

Viewers speculated that the number of people who gathered to see John might be even larger than those who watched McCartney’s headline set last year.

In 2022, the Beatles legend attracted over 100,000 people to his show, placing him alongside one of the biggest Pyramid Stage attendances together with the Rolling Stones in 2013.

Approximately 200,000 people attend Glastonbury every year.

The 24 most anticipated Lehigh Valley-area concerts of 2024

W hen longtime singer-songwriter Bruce Hornsby opens up his Musikfest Café set on July 2, the second half of the Lehigh Valley’s 2024 concert calendar will be fully underway.

Following Hornsby is a smorgasbord of classic rock, country, punk, metal (and nu metal), jazz and more that fills the Lehigh Valley’s music venues’ next six months. We’ve corralled a couple dozen of the most enticing shows, but the PPL Center , Wind Creek Event Center , Musikfest Cafe , Penn’s Peak , the State Theatre and the Sherman Theater will be welcoming plenty of eager audience members for much more than the 24 shows listed here.

Tickets for most shows are on sale, so don’t hesitate if any of these pique your interest. Below are the most anticipated concerts in the area to close 2024:

Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers

July 2, Musikfest Café, Bethlehem

Tickets start at $59

Hornsby is both one of music’s elder statesmen and one of its most versatile performers, exercising total control over almost a plethora of genres. On tour with his backup band, The Noisemakers, Hornsby is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his 1998 album, “Spirit Trail.”

July 10, Levitt Pavilion, Bethlehem

Tickets are $36 in advance, $40 day of show

Featuring veterans of the jam band genre, a moe. concert is the perfect opportunity to lie down on the Levitt Pavilion lawn, feel the grass between your toes and simply get lost in the soundscape of tunes. The group formed at the University of Buffalo in 1989 and has been going strong with its core lineup — founder Rob Derhak and Chuck Garvey, Al Schnier, Vinnie Amico and Jim Loughlin — since 1996.

Little River Band

July 12, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe

Tickets start at $49

While this isn’t the original Little River Band lineup that made them a soft rock mainstay in both the U.S. and their native Australia, the touring group still brings the same catalog and the same vibe that made the “Reminiscing” needle drop in Will Ferrell comedy “The Other Guys” a delightful reference.

July 19, Sherman Theater, Stroudsburg

Tickets start at $44

Jefferson Airplane members Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady spun off into a duo with one of the best band names in history, which is reason enough to see them. But Hot Tuna has been serving up hot tunes since 1969 with a prolific output in the 1970s and a bevy of live performance tapes since then.

Postmodern Jukebox

July 21, State Theatre, Easton

Tickets start at $35.50

Formed by Scott Bradlee in 2011, this musical collective has amassed a huge audience by turning the new into the old. With over 70 performers in its rotation, Postmodern Jukebox has probably taken your favorite pop and rock songs of the last couple of decades and turned them into hits straight from the 1930s and ‘40s with a big-band sound and ragtime-esque crooning. What started as a YouTube sensation has turned into a can’t-miss live act.

Gin Blossoms and Toad the Wet Sprocket

Aug. 15, Wind Creek Event Center, Bethlehem

Tickets start at $49.50

Wind Creek is going back to the ‘90s with a double bill straight from that decade. Gin Blossoms, best known for their songs “Found Out About You” and “Hey Jealousy,” are teaming up for a tour with Toad the Wet Sprocket, the group behind 1991 hits “All I Want” and “Walk On the Ocean.”

Slaughter Beach, Dog

Aug. 15, Musikfest Cafe, Bethlehem

Tickets start at $30

Fresh off releasing their fifth studio album, “Crying, Laughing, Waving, Smiling” in 2023, the Philadelphia-based indie rockers are heading up the highway for a stop at the ArtsQuest campus’ Musikfest Cafe. Slaughter Beach, Dog began as a solo project for Modern Baseball’s Jake Ewald and grew to a four-piece by 2017 that has since garnered plenty of critical acclaim for its pared-down, warm folk rock.

Aug. 17, Wind Creek Event Center, Bethlehem

Tickets start at $39.50

Dogstar is one of the returning groups from last year’s edition of this list, albeit with a bit of a venue upgrade. While they’re probably best known as “Keanu Reeves’ band,” the trio brought the house down at the Sherman Theater in 2023, and is now heading to Bethlehem to do the same thing.

Sublime with Rome

Aug. 22, Wind Creek Event Center, Bethlehem

Tickets start at $44.50

Beloved ska punk-rockers Sublime, in their Rome Ramirez-led iteration, are venturing out on a farewell tour that’ll see Ramirez leave his spot as lead vocalist at the end of 2024. Sublime with Rome formed in 2009, 13 years after Sublime’s founding lead singer Bradley Nowell’s death, and has continued to bring Nowell’s music to the masses.

Drake White

Aug. 23, Musikfest Cafe, Bethlehem

White has been comfortably making hits in the country world since 2016 when he released his debut album, “Spark,” and its standout tracks like “Makin’ Me Look Good” and “Livin’ the Dream.” Tough to find a better way to spend the dog days of summer.

Band of Horses and City and Colour

Sept. 8, Levitt Pavilion at SteelStacks, Bethlehem

Tickets start at $45

Artsquest is setting up a millennial fever dream under the stars in early September, bringing in two of the preeminent indie folk rock bands of the 2000s to Bethlehem. Band of Horses’ legacy may be largely “The Funeral,” but their catalog is rife with mid-200s alternative radio hits like “Is There a Ghost” and “Detlef Schrempf.” Similarly, Canada’s Dallas Green (the man behind City and Colour) has more to offer than just 2008′s “The Girl,” particularly “Comin’ Home” and “Northern Wind.”

Bad Religion

Sept. 17, Sherman Theater, Stroudsburg

Tickets start at $44.99

Bad Religion formed in 1980 in Los Angeles and are now among the elder statesmen of punk rock. The band behind “American Jesus” and “21st Century (Digital Boy)” has turned out an extensive catalog from its inception through the early 2000s. While the output has slowed down recently, the politically and socially outspoken group is still one of the most exciting acts on this list.

Sept. 28, State Theatre, Easton

Tickets start at $65

Known for its ballads, Air Supply was founded in the mid-1970s and had a string of hits including “Lost in Love,” “All Out of Love,” “Every Woman in the World” and “Even the Nights are Better.” They’re no stranger to the Lehigh Valley, but they wouldn’t keep returning if interest was dwindling — the duo has regularly brought a jolt of energy to their shows.

The Doobie Brothers

Sept. 28, PPL Center, Allentown

Tickets start at $59.50

The kings of soft rock are heading from Toulouse Street to Hamilton Street for a PPL Center performance. The “brothers” — Tom Johnston, Pat Simmons, John McFee and Michael McDonald — will be wrapping up the U.S. leg of their summer tour in Allentown and are sure to pack in hits like “What A Fool Believes,” “Long Train Running” and “Takin’ It to the Streets.”

Phil Vassar

Oct. 5, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe

Tickets start at $27

Phil Vassar broke into country music away from the microphone, penning hits for singers like Alan Jackson and Tim McGraw, but eventually developed his own hits, like “Just Another Day in Paradise” on his 2000 self-titled debut. Since then, Vassar has been a constant presence in the country scene, most recently releasing 2020′s “Stripped Down.”

Oct. 11, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe

With founding member Don Barnes still fronting the group, the southern rock group is best known for tunes like “Hold On Loosely” and “Caught Up In You.” While the band hasn’t put out much new music recently, they have plenty more to add to their big hits to pack a can’t-miss setlist.

NEEDTOBREATHE

Oct. 20, State Theatre, Easton

Tickets start at $60

The South Carolina-based band brings a bit of a southern flair to alternative Christian rock, which has helped them build a 20-year career filled with 10 studio albums. Do your prep work for the group’s Easton show with standout tracks like “Multiplied,” “TESTIFY” and “Banks.”

Paloma San Basilio

Oct. 20, Wind Creek Event Center, Bethlehem

The Spanish singer is stopping in Bethlehem as part of her “Last Concert” tour. The 73-year-old Madrid native has had an extensive career of success, starting with her early albums in the mid-1970s like “Sombras,” “Dónde vas” and “Viva la Diva,” and branching into success on stage, particularly as the titular role in the Spanish-language version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Evita.”

Oct. 25, PPL Center, Allentown

The Boston hard rock veterans are returning to the Lehigh Valley still celebrating their eighth studio album, 2023′s successful “Lightning Up the Sky.” In addition to the new tunes, the band has two decades of music to pull from, with hits like “I Stand Alone,” “When Legends Rise” and others that shot them to the top of the genre.

Rick Springfield

Nov. 3, Wind Creek Event Center, Bethlehem

Springfield is a modern renaissance man — singer, guitarist, actor, Australian — and he’s bringing his bag of talents and effortless cool to Bethlehem late in the fall. Of course, everyone knows “Jessie’s Girl,” but the Grammy-award winner has an extensive catalog filled with chart-topping hits like “Affair of the Heart” and “Don’t Talk to Strangers.”

Old Crow Medicine Show

Nov. 8, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe

Tickets start at $43.50

OCMS is accomplishing the rare feat of hitting the Lehigh Valley twice in one year. After a spring appearance at Easton’s State Theater, the Nashville-based band is heading even further north to the Poconos. The veteran string band is by far best known for their hit “Wagon Wheel,” but there’s plenty more besides the smash song that’s been covered by everyone and their mother.

Nov. 21, Wind Creek Event Center, Bethlehem

Tickets start at $59.40

This Japanese trio is one of the most unique acts to stop into the Lehigh Valley in 2024, blending Japanese pop sensibilities with, well, metal. Suzuka Nakamoto, Moa Kikuchi and Momoko Okazaki’s dancy, pop-leaning vocals are backed by the Kami Band thrashing their way through the trio’s tracks, making for a sensory experience worth head-banging to (particularly their 2015 hit “Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!”).

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue

Nov. 22, Wind Creek Event Center, Bethlehem

“Trombone Shorty” himself, Troy Andrews has music running through the blood of his family tree, so it’s natural that he’s spent his career bringing it to the masses. But what makes the band leader and his band a hot ticket is the rock, pop, funk and hip-hop they fuse with the jazz that he was raised on. The group has released a number of albums since 2010, but the draw is Andrews and Co.’s high-energy live performances.

Dec. 2, PPL Center, Allentown

Say what you will about Creed, but the band’s numerous hits from the late 1990s and early 2000s have stuck around in the pop culture consciousness for a reason. Scott Stapp and company returned from an 11-year hiatus in 2023 with a 40-date tour, which was popular enough that they’re doing it again. The “Are You Ready?” tour stops in Allentown in December, so let’s go there and ask “can we stay?”
