Catamaran Cruise with a lobster lunch

We did a catamaran cruise with a lobster lunch from our cruise and we are SO glad we did! It turned out to be the BEST excursion we had for the whole week! The cruise to the beach was wonderful, the rum punch was wonderful, the beach was wonderful, the lunch was wonderful and the crew were phenomenal!! Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity if you can, you will have a memory of a lifetime!!

VERY nice, clean boat, yummy lunch, great & reliable people. Highly recommended. We were picked up from our cruise pier, as promised and had a private four hour excursion with another family. Could not have asked for anything more.

We were in Antigua and wanted to take our favorite Catamaran, the Cool Cat for our third time. We were not disappointed. We were on a cruise and the driver picked us up at the cruise port right on time. We then went to Jolly Harbor to board the Cool Cat. They have a cooler full of drinks (sodas, beers and bottled waters) along with rum punch and wine. There are also small bags of chips (variety) offered. Off we went. Our captain was Christian. He is very knowledgeable and we had great conversation. First mate was Sim, and she was very pleasant. Christian took us out of the harbor and we went north sailing for a while. The water was choppy, and no one wanted to snorkel, so we went to a secluded cove, and set down anchor. A couple people swam in the water over to the beach. While there, Christian grilled chicken for lunch, and Sim prepared the rest of our lunch, a great salad, and a rice with vegetables. Lunch was very tasty. After lunch, we sailed for a while before returning to Jolly Harbor. Our day was way to short. I'm already planning our day for next year in Antigua with the Cool Cats again!

We did the 6 hour tour, wish we did longer because we loved it so much!! Amazing day with an amazing crew, fabulous lunch, stunning views above and under the sea! Captain Wayne, Rad Brad, Simi and papa Joe made us feel like family! This is a must do when you visit this amazing island! Thanks so much hope to see you again!! Jim and Erin

I had the opportunity to take a day trip aboard the Cool Cat and the trip was OUTSTANDING from start to finish. Wayne and Lara (The Captains) immediately put us at ease and took us to some of the most breathtaking sites I have ever seen. We stopped at numerous reefs to snorkel where there was an abundance of beautiful fish and other sea life. The Cool Cat is in pristine condition and was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a variety of fun drinks. I was blown away by the meal we had as well. Fine Dining at it's best! Wayne & Lara treat you like you have know them for years and are just great people! It was the best day trip I have ever been on! I literally could not stop smiling while I was on the Cool Cat. WE WILL BE BACK!!

Antigua excursion review: catamaran cruise with lobster lunch.

In March 2023, we took the Antigua Catamaran Cruise with Lobster Lunch Excursion during our sailing on the Celebrity Edge. 

We were told to meet at the theater at 10:30 am.

10:41 am We were released from the theater and headed ashore. We went down two decks of stairs through the martini bar. You can choose to take the elevators just past casino.

By 10:48 am, we were lined up on the pier.

At 10:51 am, the excursion staff split the line into two groups of about 50 each. We took a 2 minute walk to where the catamarans were docked.

We board the catamaran. It was one big step over to get on the catamaran. The crew was right there to help. Then, four steps down if you wanted to sit under the overhang. The crew passed out juice and soda while we waited to leave.

At 11:10 am, we sailed away. We took a leisurely sail down the shore.

At 12:51 pm, we stopped at beach #1: Turner’s Beach. You went down the laddered set of stairs into the water.   The beach had white sand and clear water. Chairs were available for rent.

At 2:00 pm, the crew called everyone back on board. During the stop, the crew set up tables and chairs and began grilling the lobsters. They made sure everyone had a place to sit.

At 2:10 pm, lunch service began. The crew handed out plates to everyone. Chicken was available if you didn’t want lobster. It was so nice not to have to stand in a buffet line.

Lunch took about half an hour.   We headed back the same way we had sailed.

At 3:35 pm, we stopped at our 2 nd beach: Deep Bay Beach. This is right by Royalton Antigua all inclusive resort. 

This is a busier beach with beach vendors. Barry the Barracuda made his appearance. The crew handed me a goggles so I could take a closer look.

After an hour, we left beach #2. The crew did a fun dance show as we sailed into the harbor. We docked and were headed back to the ship around 5:30 pm.

Overall, this was a great excursion. I loved how relaxing it was just sailing along. The beach stops were well timed and the lunch was delicious. I recommend it.

Board the luxury catamaran Mystic at the pier and enjoy a blissful maritime adventure sailing along the spectacular coastline of Antigua. The warm Caribbean breeze guides the vessel across the azure waters with the picturesque coastline as the backdrop, making this nautical journey a luxurious and serene experience.

Your first stop is at Deep Bay Beach, a tranquil paradise nestled between lush hills and turquoise waters. With its powdery white sands, it is the perfect place for a swim or relaxing time on the beach. Refreshing fruit drinks will be served here.

Nearly 100 years ago, a ship from Trinidad caught fire in these waters and sank. If you feel adventurous enough, swim out to the shipwreck that lies in the middle of the bay. The mast sticks out of the water, marking the spot for a unique swimming experience.

A short sail down the west coast brings you to another beach, lined with coconut trees. The water is a slightly cooler here – clear and delightfully refreshing. Horses and cows often graze in this area.

As you explore this beach, the crew prepares a delicious lobster buffet for you on board.

Enjoy the bounty as you sail back along the coast. An open bar and the lively beat of Caribbean music complement your glass of bubbly and delectable meal.

Antigua Excursion: Catamaran Cruise with Lobster Lunch

On our Celebrity Edge Southern Caribbean sailing, we booked the Catamaran Cruise with Lobster Lunch. Here’s a quick, two minute summary:

We started meeting in the theater. We left the theater at 10:41 am. We walked through the ship and down two sets of stairs to disembark. By 10:48 am, we were lined up at the pier.

The line was split into two groups of about 50 people. We took the 2 minute walk to the docked catamarans. The crew offered juice, water or soda while everyone got settled. The Mystic Cruises Catamaran was very nice with plenty of seating.

We left the dock at 11:10 am for a leisurely sailing along the shoreline. The Captain narrated everything we were seeing. At 12:51 pm, we had our first beach stop: Turner’s Beach. It had white sand, clear water, and some chairs for rent.

While everyone was at the beach, the crew got started preparing lunch. They set up tables and chairs and cooked the lobsters. At 2:00 pm, everyone was back onboard and seated at tables. The bar opened with options of mixed drinks, rum punch, beer, white wine, and sparkling wine. At 2:10 pm, lunch service began. Everyone received a plate with half a lobster, roasted potatoes, salad, and rice and beans. It was really lovely and the food was very good. Lunch was finished by 2:40 pm.

We started our return trip the same way. At 3:35 pm, we had a our second beach stop: Deep Bay Beach right next to Royalton Antigua. This beach was busier with more boats and beach vendors. The water became deep pretty quickly. We got to meet Barry the Barracuda.

At 4:35 pm, we left Beach #2 and had fun sailing and dancing back to the dock. We were back at the dock at 5:10 pm.

The cruise to the beach was wonderful, the rum punch was wonderful, the beach was wonderful, the lunch was wonderful and the crew were phenomenal!! Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity if you can, you will have a memory of a lifetime!!

VERY nice, clean boat, yummy lunch, great & reliable people. Highly recommended. We were picked up from our cruise pier, as promised and had a private four hour excursion with another family. Could not have asked for anything more.

Thank you for a great family activity! We had a relaxing tour of the island, a delicious lunch and saw some beautiful fish when we went snorkeling. The crew were helpful, flexible and cheerful! If we ever find ourselves in Antigua again, we will definitely be back on the Cool Cat. Thanks again.

We were in Antigua and wanted to take our favorite Catamaran, the Cool Cat for our third time. We were not disappointed. We were on a cruise and the driver picked us up at the cruise port right on time. We then went to Jolly Harbor to board the Cool Cat. They have a cooler full of drinks (sodas, beers and bottled waters) along with rum punch and wine. There are also small bags of chips (variety) offered. Off we went. Our captain was Christian. He is very knowledgeable and we had great conversation. First mate was Sim, and she was very pleasant. Christian took us out of the harbor and we went north sailing for a while. The water was choppy, and no one wanted to snorkel, so we went to a secluded cove, and set down anchor. A couple people swam in the water over to the beach. While there, Christian grilled chicken for lunch, and Sim prepared the rest of our lunch, a great salad, and a rice with vegetables. Lunch was very tasty. After lunch, we sailed for a while before returning to Jolly Harbor. Our day was way to short. I'm already planning our day for next year in Antigua with the Cool Cats again!

We did the 6 hour tour, wish we did longer because we loved it so much!! Amazing day with an amazing crew, fabulous lunch, stunning views above and under the sea! Captain Wayne, Rad Brad, Simi and papa Joe made us feel like family! This is a must do when you visit this amazing island! Thanks so much hope to see you again!! Jim and Erin

I had the opportunity to take a day trip aboard the Cool Cat and the trip was OUTSTANDING from start to finish. Wayne and Lara (The Captains) immediately put us at ease and took us to some of the most breathtaking sites I have ever seen. We stopped at numerous reefs to snorkel where there was an abundance of beautiful fish and other sea life. The Cool Cat is in pristine condition and was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a variety of fun drinks. I was blown away by the meal we had as well. Fine Dining at it's best! Wayne & Lara treat you like you have know them for years and are just great people! It was the best day trip I have ever been on! I literally could not stop smiling while I was on the Cool Cat. WE WILL BE BACK!!
