Busby Marou are two artists that really define the nature of country music, completely relaxed and completely happy to be exactly where they are, sharing their emotional turmoil. The Australian duo is one of Blues and Roots' greatest influences, and they've really been stealing the show the past few years that they've been active - I got to watch them at The Andergrove Tavern in Mackay, Australia, in October 2012, and I was lucky enough to witness the real talent and skill that goes into each of their performances.

The moment they played 'Biding My Time', the crowd fell silent listening to the really gorgeous tune coming from these two highly gifted individuals. They blend together so perfectly that you feel like they become one act on stage. The music itself is so tonal and rhythmic, obviously coming from a place of true emotion and feeling, and the audience can't help but become kind of lost in what they're doing.

I really loved this concert, because there was a real intimate feeling about the entire set, not to mention the crazily talented artists performing in front of us. Busby Marou really pulled out all the stops here, and they definitely gave their absolute best.

All I can say is that if you are after a wonderful night with music that is about all of us then Busby Marou is for you.

The band played music from their latest album The Great Divide and sprinkled in old favourites throughout the whole night.

Bobby Alu kicked off the night and it was one of the great times where the support act are well worth checking out. Bobby makes his ukelele talk and sings like an Angel. He also has made drumming skills.

This set the scene for a small but passionate Margaret River crowd to dance and sing the night away. Thomas and Jeremy are just a pure delight. Thomas really engages the crowd and Jeremy plays the guitar like no one else in Australian music.

It was my first time seeing Busby Marou despite enjoying their music for many years and most certainly wont be the last time I see him.

Just brilliant, the guys were at their best, Tommy & Jeremy one of their best Adelaide performeances by far.

Loved the the tracks off of the new album, and some classics thrown in too.

Topped off with one of the crowd coming up to dance on stage while the guys did their "Girls just wanna have fun" cover!! Support act, Tommy Castles, fantastic, soulful & beautiful.

Busby Marou actually seem to enjoy performing and that can't be said for every band!

They sound even more amazing live than on my stereo and the gig had such a chill vibe - it felt like hanging out with mates.

Two guys who love their music and their fans, down to earth and friggin awesome musicians to boot.

I loved seeing these guys. The music they perform is friendly and melodic and insightful. They have a great feel and their relationship to their audience is delightful. With a brand new album they are continuing their legacy of personal experience and their love of life.

The two boys were in fine voice for the last gig of their sounds of summer tour. The music was fantastic. Tom's voice was in fine form and Jeremy guitar was as good as ever. A fun filled night and good music.

The LeadBelly venue was really good and friendly. The boys show was excellent with both being in fine voice and played magnificently. They had an appreciative crowd that enjoyed every minute.

Such a good show with a great vibe. Have seen them before and will see them again x ... ..... ..... .... .... .... ..... ..... ...... ....... ..... ....... .....

BUSBY MAROU Announce ‘Tiny Towns’ Tour Across Regional Queensland

Ahead of the release of their upcoming album ‘Blood Red’ on July 21,  Busby Marou have announced their ‘Tiny Towns’ Tour which includes 11 dates in total all across regional Australia. The tour follows on from the same series the boys did in 2017, but this time with 6 extra dates and renowned Australian singer-songwriter  Brad Butcher  joining in for the ride.

The boys are beyond excited to be back hitting the regional circuit with  Jeremy Marou  saying “ It’s no secret that I enjoy the small regional shows compared to the anything in capital city’s. We are Central Qld born and bred we have a special bond with all places in regional areas.  This tour will be something  special. ”

Tom Busby  adds, “ There is always a special atmosphere in the smaller communities and these towns come to life when you take the music to them. They don’t get many opportunities to see live music, so when they do, it’s party time! ”

Busby Marou ‘s fifth album is gearing up to be their best release yet with singles Crazy Like That, Where I Wanna Be and Everything is Beautiful being just a taste of the beautiful body of work to come. ‘Blood Red’ will be the boys’ first full-length project since 2019’s highly successful ‘The Great Divide’.

Busby Marou have gained the reputation as one of Australia’s hardest working live bands best known for their distinctly Australian storytelling and gifted musicianship. On stage, a key element is the intertwining of vocal interplay of two lifelong mates. 2023 is gearing up to be a huge year for the duo and they can’t wait to get out and play across regional Queensland!

Busby Marou to headline Reefside Sounds

Aria award-winning artists Busby Marou will kick off their ‘Tiny Towns’ tour as part of the Reefside Sounds live music event, to be held on the calm waters of Lady Musgrave Lagoon this month.

Reefside Sounds is an intimate music event onboard the permanently moored Lady Musgrave HQ pontoon.

The event will also see Indie-folk duo JC & The Tree return for their second performance at Lady Musgrave Island Lagoon.

Taribelang Bunda cultural performers and guides round out the line-up.

Lady Musgrave Experience’s Tika Gleeson said ticketholders would have the unique opportunity to explore the underwater beauty of the Great Barrier Reef directly from purpose-built snorkel platforms on Lady Musgrave HQ .

“This unique experience includes return transfers to Lady Musgrave HQ from Bundaberg Port Marina, buffet lunch, snorkelling equipment hire, live music, full licensed bar and grazing tables for morning and afternoon tea,” she said.

“Lady Musgrave HQ is permanently moored in the picturesque Lagoon of Lady Musgrave Island on the Southern Great Barrier Reef creating the perfect backdrop for live music, snorkelling and relaxing with friends and family.

“The pontoon also features an underwater observatory from which visitors can view the abundant marine life and coral living in the lagoon.

“With 4.5 hours on the reef, guests can take advantage of the calm, turquoise waters of the lagoon and swim with turtles and explore the variety of different coral and tropical fish.”

Tickets are limited, with only 150 available.

Yury Gagarin Cosmonauts Training Centre (Zvezdny Gorodok - Star Town) (7 hours)

The Yuri A. Gagarin State Scientific Research-and-Testing Cosmonaut Training Center is a Russian training facility responsible for training cosmonauts for their space missions. It is in Star City of Moscow Oblast, a name which may refer to the facility itself or to its grounds. (Read more about Yury Gagarin Cosmonauts training center )

The secret Star City was built to train Soviet cosmonauts, including Yuri Gagarin, the 1st man in space. Many other famous Russian cosmonauts trained here with Gagarin: German Titov, Valentina Tereshkova, the first female cosmonaut, and Alexei Leonov, the first cosmonaut to exit the spaceship into space . The best facilities were built for them: the world’s largest centrifuge and hydro laboratory. Many cosmonauts from other countries (USA, Japan, Germany and many others) also have trained here together with Soviet Russian cosmonauts. On this Star (Space) City Tour you will see:

Out of the Centre

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
