Dispatch and O.A.R. Announce Summer 2022 Co-Headlining Tour

Dispatch and O.A.R. have announced they’ll be hitting the road together for their first-ever North American co-headlining tour. The two groups kick off their historic tour on July 15 of 2022 and will be joined by special guests Robert Randolph Band and G. Love on select dates.

Though the two bands have previously played on the same bill, they have never shared a tour before, though not for lack of desire. “Dispatch has always been a name on our white-board wish-list for bands we wanted to tour with,” said O.A.R.’s sax player Jerry DePizzo in a press release. “It’s almost as if we’ve existed in parallel universes. We both came up through the ranks and cut our teeth playing colleges and small clubs throughout the Northeast and Midwest. It’s taken a few years, but the stars have finally aligned. We’re looking forward to this because we feel both audiences will be excited as well. We should have done this a long time ago.”

The excursion starts in Mesa, Ariz. and will traverse its way throughout the United States until the middle of September, making 37 stops in cities like Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Atlanta, Cleveland, Nashville, Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Austin, Virginia Beach and more.

“There are some beautiful anchors and moonshots in place in order to celebrate not only the history of where O.A.R. and Dispatch have been but where we’re going,” Added Dispatch’s Brad Corrigan in the press release. “We’re grateful to still have our family of fans, health, friendships and a chance to continue making music. Gonna be good.”

For over 25 years, O.A.R. have embodied the kind of joyfully communal spirit that’s transcendent for both artist and audience alike. Since forming in Maryland in 1996, the multi-platinum-selling band have merged their musical DNA into a free-flowing sound and exhilarating live show, repeatedly selling out legendary venues like Madison Square Garden thanks to their massively devoted community of fans. In a thrilling new chapter for the ever-evolving collective, O.A.R.’s tenth studio album The Arcade marks their most collaborative effort yet: a boldly unpredictable body of work that fully showcases the extraordinary expanse of their singular musicality.

“From the beginning, this band has been about people with different influences and different styles of playing coming together to tell stories through songs based on my lyrics,” says O.A.R. lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Marc Roberge, whose bandmates include Richard On (lead guitar, backing vocals), Chris Culos (drums), Benj Gershman (bass), Jerry DePizzo (saxophone, guitar, backing vocals), MikelParis (keys, backing vocals, percussion), and Jon Lampley (trumpet, backing vocals). “Over the years our family has grown to the point where we’ve got seven musicians adding their flavor to the performances, and it felt like the perfect time to really lean into that collaborative spirit on the records, try new things, and celebrate the music we love.”

The follow-up to 2019’s The Mighty (O.A.R.’s third consecutive Top 15 debut on the Billboard 200), The Arcade took shape at a deliberately unhurried pace, with the band often working remotely to craft its high-energy collision of alt-rock and roots music and left-of-center pop. “I think what I’ll remember most about this album is the sheer amount of time we allowed ourselves to share ideas and then build those ideas into something even better, and ultimately come up with songs that we’d all love to sit back and listen to late at night or out on a long drive—an album you keep wanting to listen to all the way through,” says Roberge. Partly recorded live with the entire band in New York City, The Arcade also finds O.A.R. joining forces with such eclectic producers/co-writers as Gregg Wattenberg (John Legend, Train), Adam Friedman (Tai Verdes, Allen Stone), Kellen “Pom Pom” Pomeranz (John Legend, Tai Verdes), Stephen Kellogg, Danny Chaimson, and Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas. “The reason we titled the album The Arcade is that an arcade contains so many different games, characters, colors, stories, sounds—but at the end of the day, all of that exists within the same space, under the same roof,” Roberge explains.

The first song written for The Arcade , “In the Clouds” immediately set the tone for the album’s wide-eyed exploration of finding hope and happiness in the darkest of times. With its trance-inducing grooves and luminous guitar tones—as well as a heavenly trumpet solo from Jon Lampley, who also performs in Stay Human with Jon Batiste—“In the Clouds” celebrates the transportive power of drifting off into your own dream world. “Everyone has their ways of escaping when they’re facing pressure or feeling overwhelmed, and for me that’s checking out and letting myself live in my imagination a little while,” says Roberge. On “Nightlight,” The Arcade takes on a moody urgency, unfolding in frenetic beats, shadowy textures, and syncopated guitar work as O.A.R. gently comment on the chaos of modern life. “That song is coming from the perspective of wanting to protect my kids from the constant turbulence of the world,” Roberge says. “It’s letting them know that whenever they wake up scared, I’m always going to be there for them.” And on “Life in the Big City,” O.A.R. present one of the starkest moments on The Arcade , an impossibly hopeful tribute to a close friend lost to gun violence. “My friend’s name was Billy Mitchell, and it took a long time to tell his story in a way that felt right to me,” Roberge says. “After months of trying so many different approaches, we finally landed on a production and performance that really show O.A.R. at its core, which is us taking everyone on a journey within the song. Like everything else on the album, it’s in no way a dark look at the situation—even though it’s a tragic story, it somehow lifts us up.”

That mission of making music with a profoundly life-affirming impact has defined O.A.R. since its earliest days. First taking the stage at an eighth-grade talent show, the group grew a grassroots following while attending The Ohio State University, largely on the strength of their exuberant live performance and through their fans’ feverish sharing of live recordings (a practice emphatically encouraged by the band). Over the years, O.A.R. have maintained one of the most dedicated fanbases in the world while amassing a multitude of platinum and gold certifications, selling out Madison Square Garden twice and filling Red Rocks Amphitheater over a dozen times, and performing at such high-profile events as the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony and the Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration. Known for their rare level of autonomy in the music industry, they’ve also engaged in a great number of philanthropic endeavors, including establishing a scholarship at The Ohio State University and founding the Heard The World Fund (a nonprofit that’s raised over $1.2 million in its efforts to support youth and education in underserved communities throughout the U.S.).

O.A.R. Outline Summer 2024 Tour Dates with Fitz and The Tantrums, DJ Logic and Ripe

O.A.R. have announced an extensive summer tour. The ensemble unveiled that they will kick off the run on July 16 with an evening at Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, N.C. After the first night on the road, they will continue to make stops across the country, with support from special guests at select locations, Fitz and The Tantrums, DJ Logic and Ripe. 

After closing out their initial night onstage, O.A.R. and their guests will travel up the East Coast, stopping in Pittsburgh, Asbury Park, N.J., Boston, and into New England, leading to their two-night stand at New York’s The Rooftop at Pier 17. Following time in the Big Apple, the group will go to the South East, stopping in Atlanta before a tight run of Lone Star State appearances. 

With Texas dates completed, O.A.R. will waste no time making their way to Phoenix, which arrives the night before their Aug. 8 stand at the storied Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Ensuing California gigs will come next, leading the band back to the country’s center for an Aug. 17 performance at Gerald R. Amphitheater in Vail, Colo., and ultimately an Aug. 18 Red Rocks stand. 

The remaining tour dates will take O.A.R. through part of the Midwest and back through the Southern states, arriving at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn., on Sept. 1. The band will follow with a few added dates before stepping away from their road commitments–eventually returning in mid-November 2024 for a string of Florida concerts.

A year after a fire ripped through charles schwab challenge merch tent, colonial's new logo is a hot item, share this article.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A year ago, the merchandise tent at the Charles Schwab Challenge caught fire and the area that housed the performance center was rendered unusable just before organizers were set to fill it with this week’s shirts, hats and other souvenirs.

So while Colonial Country Club’s golf course is offering a new and modern experience for players this week, tournament organizers are happy that the merchandise area has returned to its previous feel.

A new Colonial logo is among the highlights that Taylor Pettit, the manager of tournament merchandise operations for the PGA Tour, said are moving quickly.

“We opened on Monday for the pro-am participants and it’s been doing great so far,” he said. “This event is really special. We really try to dig into the Fort Worth culture and some of the different graphics are inspired by that.”

A Trump-crazed superfan gave up the comfort of a normal life to follow the ex-president around the nation in the decked-out Trump trailer she calls home.

“Whether you want to or not — we wake up and we Trump it!” Donna Eiden told The Post outside the RV covered top to bottom in posters of the 77-year-old Republican.

Eiden wheeled her camper home to the South Bronx Thursday ahead of the presidential hopeful’s planned rally — which attracted thousands of other dedicated and eclectic MAGA diehards.

The Trumper offered The Post an inside glimpse of the RV home he shares with her husband, Rocky Granata.

The motorhome is filled to the brim with Donald Trump souvenirs they routinely hock to other superfans she meets along her journeys to other MAGA rallies across the country.

“We have pretty much everything. Cover to cover,” Eiden said, gesturing to a wall lined with T-shirts and hats that read: “Ultra MAGA,” “Trump is my vato” and — of course — “ Let’s Go Brandon .”

Another wall was covered with bumper stickers and flags, some of which were simple decals of Trump’s face while others had more vulgar slogans, like “F–k Joe Biden.”

Wearing a Trump 2024 shirt herself, Eiden pointed to a table covered with shot glasses, decks of cards, pens, keychains, wallets and more, including a Trump-shaped mug with a slot in his mouth to hide chocolate chip cookies inside: “For the kids. Yep, put the cookies in his big mouth.”

There wasn’t a spot in the RV’s interior left untouched — even the ceiling was peppered with pro-Trump buttons, pins and stickers, all of which are up for sale to other MAGA lovers.

“If they make for Trump, we pretty much have it,” Eiden said.

With so many Trump trinkets to choose from, Eiden said the most popular comes as a shock: a pen with a retractable banner. One side features the American flag and the Pledge of Allegiance, while the other depicts a $100 bill with the ex-president at its center.

“This pen was from, believe it or not, 2020 and it’s still a great seller … Even though it says ‘Pence,’ they still buy it,” Eiden chuckled.

“They don’t want to buy anything with Pence.”

There seemed to be little room in the maximalist van for the couple’s personal belongings, even though the RV is more than a roaming concession stand.

“This is home. 24/7: eat, sleep, everything. Trump all day every day,” Eiden said.

“Yes, we do it every day. All over the country.”

Swift paired hers with the Swimming Pool Chain ($498) for her performance last summer, pointing out the sweet style nod onstage before the duo broke into their song “Nothing New” for the final time on the Eras Tour.

Rolling Stones at MetLife: From tickets to parking, here's everything you need to know

The Rolling Stones and New Jersey got a thing going on, and rock 'n' roll fans like it.

The upcoming Stones shows Thursday, May 23, and Sunday, May 26, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford will be the band's 27th and 28th concerts in the state.

The Rolling Stones' first show in Jersey was at Symphony Hall in Newark, then called the Mosque Theater, on  Nov. 7, 1965 (they played two shows). A year later, they played the Steel Pier in Atlantic City, and two shows at Convention Hall in Asbury Park.

“It had been the hottest day of the year, and one somehow expected the extreme heat to dull the notorious fervor of the Stones’ fans,” wrote Linda Deutsch on July 3, 1966, for the Asbury Park Press. “But neither heat wave or cadre of Asbury Park policemen did much to calm the over-wrought teenagers.”

The Stones are currently on tour in support of the critically acclaimed album, “Hackney Diamonds,” their first LP in 18 years. The tour began April 28 at NRG Stadium in Houston, and will play 16 cities through the tour finale July 17 in Santa Clara, California. AARP is the sponsor. Mick Jagger and Richards are both 80.

The Stones these days include founding members Jagger, vocals, and Richards, guitar; with Ronnie Wood, guitar; Darryl Jones, bass; and Steve Jordan, drums.

Rideshare : Designated rideshare (Uber, Lyft, etc.) pick-up/drop-off location is in Lot E. Rideshare surge pricing is often in effect after the event. Larger crowds will result in longer than usual wait times for a car to arrive (can be up to two-hour wait). Make sure your phone is charged and ready to go if you’re planning to use one of these services.

Non-rideshare pick-up/drop-off : Located on the stadium roadway between Lots D and E.

NJ TRANSIT : Trains will operate between Secaucus Junction and MetLife Stadium on the Meadowlands Rail Line from 5:34 p.m. to  9:10 p.m. Thursday, and from 5:31 p.m. to 9:23 p.m. Sunday. Check njtransit.com/MetLifeStadium for complete rail timetables. After the concert, the last train from MetLife Stadium to Secaucus will not depart Meadowlands Station any earlier than 1 a.m.

Can I tailgate before the Rolling Stones concert at MetLife?

Tailgating policy : Tailgating is permitted but drones, model aircraft, kites and any other remote-controlled or tethered flying objects are not permitted. Tailgating should be limited to the lined parking space and the area directly behind or in front of each vehicle. Blocking drive lanes is prohibited. Box Office/Ticketmaster Will-Call : Located at trailer outside MetLife Gate opens at 3 p.m. Check your tickets and make sure you have the correct ticket date. Barcodes for ticket scanning will appear on mobile tickets eight hours prior to the event.

Floor tickets : Fans with Floor (Pit, GA and Sections 1 to 10) tickets use any gate for entry and proceed to HCLTech Plaza for floor access. Tickets will be scanned again to verify floor access and wristbands will be distributed. Allow 20 to 30 minutes extra time for the secondary scan and wristband process.
