NCT Dream announces 'The Dream Show 3' world tour dates

May 8 (UPI) -- South Korean boy band NCT Dream is going on tour in 2024.

NCT Dream, a subunit of the K-pop group NCT, announced dates for its The Dream Show 3: Dream()Scape world tour on Wednesday.

The Dream Show 3 will see NCT Dream perform shows in Latin America, Europe and the United States.

The U.S. dates begin Sept. 12 in Los Angeles and conclude Sept. 26 in Chicago. Tickets go on sale May 17 at 3 p.m. local time, with pre-sales for the Weverse fan club to begin May 16.

NCT Dream consists of Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung. The group released the EP Dream()Scape and a music video for the song "Smoothie" in March.

As a full group, NCT has 26 members and also features the subunits NCT U, NCT 127, WayV, DoJaeJung and NCT Wish.

NCT DREAM announced Tuesday (March 7) that they’re heading Stateside for their first headlining tour of the U.S.

The seven-date U.S. leg of THE DREAM SHOW2: In A DREAM Tour is slated to begin April 5 with a show at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., followed by stops in Chicago, Atlanta, Houston and Dallas. From there, the K-pop idols will head to the West Coast, where they’ll play the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., before finishing up the tour April 21 at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.

SM Entertainment Reports Strong Growth Amid HYBE Controversy

NCTzens will be able to purchase tickets for all seven dates starting this Friday (March 10) at 4 p.m. local time via either Ticketmaster or AXS.

In December, the NCT subgroup released their holiday single “ Candy ,” updating H.O.T.’s classic 1996 K- pop track for the 21st century. (The ’90s act is largely credited with establishing the boy-band blueprint as South Korea’s first “idol” group.)

Along with the single, NCT Dream dropped their special winter album of the same name featuring tracks like “Graduation,” “Tangerine Love (Favorite)” and “Take My Breath.” The release served as the septet’s follow-up to their 2022 album Glitch Mode , which was repackaged and reissued last May as Beatbox .

Following a wildly successful three-night sold-out tour kickoff at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome last weekend, the newly announced global expansion will include four stops in Latin America, five stops in Europe and the U.K, and seven stops in the United States, including Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. on September 24th!

NCT DREAM will be holding encore concerts in June!

On April 26, NCT DREAM announced that they will be holding “THE DREAM SHOW2 : In YOUR DREAM” encore concerts on June 2 and 3 at Gocheok Sky Dome.

Following the concerts in Seoul, NCT DREAM will visit four regions in Latin America including Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Mexico in July.

After kicking things off in Asia, NCT DREAM is taking their world tour to the United States and Europe!

On February 15, NCT DREAM officially announced an exciting new set of dates and cities for their ongoing “THE DREAM SHOW2 : In A Dream” world tour, which began at Seoul Olympic Stadium last fall before taking them to Nagoya, Yokohama, and Fukuoka in Japan.

As previously announced, NCT DREAM will be performing in Osaka for three nights from February 17 to 19, Jakarta from March 4 to 6, Bangkok from March 10 to 12, and Hong Kong on March 25.

The group will then head to Europe, where they will perform in London on March 28, Paris on March 30, and Berlin on April 3.

The U.S. leg of their tour will kick off in Newark just two days later, on April 5, before taking them to Chicago on April 7, Atlanta on April 9, Houston on April 12, Dallas on April 14, Los Angeles on April 18, and Seattle on April 21.

One week later, NCT DREAM will return to Asia for two nights of concerts in Manila on April 29 and 30, before performing in Singapore on May 1, Macau on May 13, and Kuala Lumpur on May 20.

However, fans outside of these cities need not be discouraged: further tour stops have yet to be announced, so stay tuned for updates!

Back in February, the NCT sub-unit unveiled a poster revealing a fresh slate of tour dates alongside shows that had already been announced. The world tour will touch down in 22 cities with 32 performances, the group later confirmed on Twitter .

NCT Dream kicked off their ‘The Dream Show 2: In a Dream’ tour in Japan last year. Upcoming dates include multiple shows in Osaka this weekend, and then extended jaunts in Jakarta, Indonesia and Bangkok, Thailand.

NCT Dream will start the UK and Europe leg of the tour in London on March 28, before heading to Paris and Berlin. They will then perform seven shows in the US, starting in Newark, New Jersey on April 5 and ending in Seattle, Washington on April 21.

After the US leg, NCT Dream will return to Asia for a fresh batch of shows in Manila, Singapore, Macau and Kuala Lumpur. More dates will be added, the poster says. The venue for each city as well as ticketing details, including onsale dates, categories and prices, have yet to be announced.

NCT Dream’s last release was their debut Japanese single ‘Best Friend Ever’, which arrived last week. In December they dropped the special winter album ‘Candy’, which was led by the group’s take on the 1996 H.O.T track of the same name.

In other NCT news, NCT 127 dropped a repackaged version of their 2022 album ‘질주 (2 Baddies)’ in January. It was led by the single ‘Ay-yo’.

NCT Dream reveals tour must-haves, pre-show routines and how they relax after a concert

In a new series,  USA TODAY’s The Essentials , celebrities share what fuels their lives.

When the septet debuted in 2016, the K-pop group's members were teenagers, influenced by the concept of "youth" while navigating their personal aspirations in the spotlight.

Nearly eight years later, the guys have matured and come into their own, developing a signature style and garnering worldwide recognition. Last year alone, NCT Dream placed No. 6 on the IFPI Global Top 10 Album Chart, won top awards in South Korea and embarked on a global tour across 26 cities, including in the U.S.

NCT Dream will make its way back to the states this year – starting Sept. 12 – for seven stops on its third world tour, including in New York, California and Washington D.C.

"Just getting ready for the concert itself is a thrill, and we're very excited to be able to come up with a brand new concert," says the group's leader Mark , 24.

On a late-night Zoom call prior to The Dream Show 3: Dream()scape tour's kickoff in Seoul, NCT Dream's members spilled on their routines and performance go-to.

How NCT Dream preps for a performance

Everyone has their own way to get hype before a concert, including NCT DREAM's members: Mark, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung and Renjun (who was absent from this interview).

Jisung , 22, says one of his go-to pump-up songs is " City Lights " by Avicii, while Jaemin , 23, says his playlist puts a "zen mode" before hitting the stage.

For Jeno , 24, there's usually a lot on his mind before a performance. Instead of listening to music, he tends to put on his headphones and play nothing. "I like to block all the sound out, to stay still and to empty my mind."

As part of his pre-show routine, Chenle , 22, watches interviews of late basketball player Kobe Bryant , "on every tour, before every concert."

"It gets me pumped up for the concert and ready to put on great performance," he says.

How NCT Dream relaxes after a show

Before a performance, Chenle takes precautions toward his health, including taking vitamins. Especially after a show, he uses products to prevent vocal issues and alleviate any strain since his voice gets "really hoarse."

Jeno also prioritizes his well-being on tour. "I always like to take a shower and I always make sure I use cold water at the end, especially because we're using our bodies a lot for shows and it really tires out our muscles," he says.

Haechan , 23, usually winds down by taking a warm bath and occasionally drinks some wine.

Sleep is key for the all group's members, but Jisung often find himself staying up late after a show.

"I'm on my phone all night," he says. "I want to learn how to relax."

What does NCT Dream do during downtime?

When the guys have a chance for free time on tour, they still spend it together.

"I like taking pictures. I'm not a professional, (but) I like to see the scenery and everything. Having a nice walk every once in a while is good in a different city," Mark says.

"We get to see a lot of different architecture in each city and that's another thing I like to look out for while we go out and take pictures," says Jaemin.

An avid basketball fan, Chenle keeps his sneakers on hand wherever he goes. "I've played basketball in pretty much every city we've been to so far," he says, adding how Mark usually plays pickup with him.

But each member uses his personal time-off differently.

"One of my most important essentials is my laptop so I can play games," says Haechan. "I can go outside during downtime but that makes me use up more energy. So I prefer to stay indoors … It's like me-time."

Jisung enjoys watching other K-pop artists' music videos, as well as some of the other content they have on their channels.

NCT Dream tour must-have items

Jaemin lists several must-haves for tour: wireless headphones, perfume, hydration cream, a Thai product for sinus relief, vitamins and an energy drink to name a few.

Chenle says his good luck charms for a great performance are the friendship ring that he shares with his members, plus his watch. "I have to put it on as soon as I wake up; there's like a routine," he says.

Besides his headphones, Mark's other must-have isn't tangible – it's his concentration.

"I always remember to bring myself," he says.

On June 24, 2022, NCT DREAM announced their second world tour and first concerts in Seoul, scheduled for July 29-31, making their first performance after 3 years. [1]

However, on July 27, 2022, SM Entertainment announced the cancellation of the July concerts after Mark and Renjun tested positive for COVID-19. [2]

On August 10, 2022, they announced new dates and new venue for the Seoul concerts - Olympic Stadium. The second show at Seoul (September 9) was live-streamed via Beyond LIVE with re-streaming on October 1.

On November 15, 2022, it was announced that the second show in Kanagawa (November 27) will also be live-streamed via Beyond LIVE .

On April 26, 2023, SM Entertainment announced a special two-day Seoul concert, titled "The Dream Show 2 : In Your Dream". [5] The second show (June 3) would also be live-streamed via Beyond LIVE with re-streaming on July 1. They also announced their plans for Latin American concerts in July.

On April 27, 2023, SM Entertainment announced that member Chenle will not be participating in the Manila's concerts on April 29 and 30 as well as Singapore's on May 1 due to cold symptoms. [6]

On May 15, 2023, NCT DREAM announced additional date (June 1) for their encore concert in Seoul due to high demand.

On May 31, 2023, it was announced that their concert in Osaka will be released in Blu-ray on September 6, 2023.

2024 has been packed with K-pop concerts and tour dates of several famous groups and artists. In June 2024, Wheein, RIIZE, NCT Dream, and others will be on their world tour, performing at new venues.

In the post-pandemic era, K-pop concerts have taken over the world. The magic of watching a Korean group perform live adds a different dimension to the whole experience. The over-the-top themes, energetic choreography, and dynamic vocals make K-pop concerts stand out. So, let’s look at some of the top acts that will hold K-pop concert tours in June 2024 and perform in the United States, Europe, and various other Asian cities.

NCT Dream , one of the popular acts of SM Entertainment, embarked on its world tour in May 2024 with back-to-back shows in Seoul. The group will continue its series of Dream Show 3 concerts in June and travel to several Asian countries, including China and Japan, for their new shows.

NCT Dream’s June K-pop concert dates include:

Another SM Entertainment group, RIIZE , which debuted in September 2023, will also be on tour in June 2024. The K-pop septet, consisting of Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Seunghan, Sohee, and Anton, will release their mini album RIIZING on June 17 while performing live for fans.

Mamamoo member Wheein started her solo K-pop tour with two stunning shows in Seoul, which took place on February 24 and 25. The “Make Me Happy” crooner will conclude the 2024 Whee In The Mood [Beyond] world tour in June, performing at two shows in the United States.

ADOR’s NewJeans has been taking over music charts since their debut. The rising K-pop act will release two new singles in June and hold a new fan-meeting concert in Japan. The fan meeting will run for 150 minutes, and the “Ditto” crooners will perform 24 songs. The setlist of NewJeans will include their four new tracks featuring “How Sweet,” “Bubble Gum,” “Super Natural,” and “Right Now.”

Babymonster

YG Entertainment’s rookie K-pop act, Babymonster , has been making waves in the music industry since its debut on November 27, 2023. The group made its latest comeback with a self-titled album on April 1. Following the album, the band announced the dates of fan meeting concerts in Asian cities.

Three former GFRIEND members—Eunha, SinB, and Umji—formed the new K-pop act VIVIZ , which debuted on February 9, 2022. Since then, the girl group has released over four extended plays and multiple hit singles. The trio announced their dates for a world tour in May, including Asia and a few cities in the US.

NCT 127 star Doyoung debuted solo with the mini album Youth on April 22, 2024. Following the debut, he held his first set of solo concerts in May in Seoul. In June, Doyoung will travel to several Asian cities to perform his songs live.

SM Entertainment’s globally famed girl band Aespa recently returned to the music scene with their first full-length album, Armageddon , which was released on May 27. The group will start their 2024 world tour following the ten-track project release.

NCT DREAM reveals their second Japanese single 'Moonlight' MV

NCT DREAM (under SM Entertainment ) continues the excitement of their dome tour with the release of their second Japanese single ' Moonlight ' on the 5th.

NCT DREAM's second Japanese single 'Moonlight' will be released locally on the 5th, with all tracks available on various global music platforms from 6 PM KST, generating hot anticipation from music fans.

This album features two original Japanese songs: the title track 'Moonlight,' a pop dance song with an upbeat melody, guitar sound, and drums, and ' Stupid Cupid ,' a hip-hop track with a rhythmic beat and addictive chorus.

NCT DREAM captivated 235,000 fans across five performances in three cities during their first Japanese dome tour, which took place at Kyocera Dome Osaka on May 11-12, Tokyo Dome on May 25-26, and Vantelin Dome Nagoya on June 2, where they performed the title track 'Moonlight.' Bei der Saalplanbuchung wählst du deine Plätze persönlich und präzise im grafischen Saalplan aus. Starte die Saalplanbuchung und entscheide dich für einen Bereich. Dort kannst du die Plätze per Mausklick auswählen. Bei einigen Events wird die Saalplanbuchung nicht angeboten.

Freie Platzwahl

bedeutet, dass du mit deinem Ticket entsprechend den örtlichen Gegebenheiten deinen Platz frei auswählen kannst. Es kann sich dabei um Sitzplätze, Stehplätze oder eine Teilbestuhlung ohne Sitzplatzanspruch handeln.

Sitz- oder Stehplatz je nach Verfügbarkeit

In der so bezeichneten Preiskategorie werden überwiegend (jedoch nicht garantiert) Sitzplätze angeboten. Unter Umständen werden auch Stehplatzkarten zum gleichen Preis zugeschickt. Der Bahnhof ist durch eine Fußgängerbrücke direkt mit der Uber Arena verbunden. Ostbahnhof Die Uber Arena befindet sich in direkter Nähe des Ostbahnhofs. Es bietet sich daher an mit der S-Bahn der Linien S3, S7, S5, S75 und S9 oder dem Bus 140, 240, 347 oder N40 anzureisen. Vom Bahnhof führt eine Begehungsstraße direkt zur Uber Arena . Bitte folgen Sie der Beschilderung. Außerdem ist der Ostbahnhof an das Regional Express RE1, RE2, RE7, RB14 Netz sowie überregional an das ICE Netz angeschlossen, so dass eine schnelle Anreise auch aus überregionalen Orten möglich ist. Boot Direkt an der Uber Arena befindet sich am Ufer der Spree ein Bootsanleger mit zwei Anlegestellen. The popular K-pop group, NCT Dream, is going on a world tour and is coming to the Netherlands for the first time with their tour 'The Dream Show 3 - Dream () Escape Tour'.

NCT Dream is a South Korean boy group that debuted in 2016 consisting of seven members - Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung. Their debut single "Chewing Gum" ​was just the start of a string of catchy hits that conquered the K-pop charts. With every song they proved their versatility, while at the same time maintaining an unmistakable signature style.

NCT loses one million Instagram followers due to boycott over coffee retailer collaboration

K-pop boy band NCT lost one million followers on Instagram following their collaboration with Starbucks Korea for summer product and food promotions .

Netizens have been campaigning to boycott Starbucks due to the Israel-Hamas war, which started last October. 

They accused Starbucks of supporting Israel. Last October, Starbucks Workers United (SWU) in the US posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Solidarity with Palestine.”

Starbucks sued SWU for using its name and logo. 

“For example, SBWU posted on X, using the Starbucks Marks and Starbucks Works, stating ‘Solidarity with Palestine.’ That post contained more than this statement alone. Rather, that quote was directed to amplify the message below, which described the picture in the post as the ‘Bulldozer operated by Gaza Resistance tearing down’ a fence on the Gaza strip during the attack on Israel on October 7,” according to the lawsuit filed by Starbucks. 

On its website, Starbucks stated that “the inaccurate attribution of these statements to Starbucks created confusion, leading to threats to our partners, damage to our stores, and calls for boycott.”   

“Starbucks took legal action to end misuse of Starbucks name and logos and to protect the safety of our partners and retail operations. To be clear, Starbucks respects others’ right to express their own viewpoints about the conflict in the Middle East and other political and social issues. Starbucks cannot permit the misuse of Starbucks name and logos, especially when those misuses lead to mistaken attribution of others statements to Starbucks,” it said. 

In an op-ed piece by Workers United President Lynne Fox on Oct. 20 on In These Times, she wrote, “The company seized on a single tweet from the Starbucks Workers United account expressing solidarity with Palestine that was written by one person and not authorized by the union or its workers, and that was quickly deleted. It conveniently ignored other tweets that called for peace.”

“Starbucks is seeking to exploit the ongoing tragedy in Gaza and Israel to bolster an anti-union campaign that has already resulted in more than 270 violations of the National Labor Relations Act by falsely attacking the union’s reputation with workers and the public,” wrote Fox. 

About the conflict in Israel and Gaza, Starbucks posted on its website on Dec. 29, “Starbucks is a global company committed to providing a place where everyone feels welcome and a sense of belonging, anywhere in the world. We abhor hate and strongly reject violence against the innocent. Despite false statements spread through social media, Starbucks has never contributed to any government or military operation in any way.”

However, the campaign to boycott Starbucks has continued. 

Starbucks Korea and NCT collaboration 

The campaign to boycott Starbucks also involved NCT. 

Last May 23, Starbucks Korea announced a summer collaboration with NCT. It said from May 30 to July 4, a variety of products including drinks and food will be offered in Korea. There are also merchandise items to be sold like NCT concert  bag and key ring. 

On May 30, or the first day of the promo, Starbucks Korea announced that the NCT concert  bag sold out and the NCT mug was about to run out of stocks.

“We look forward to collaborating with global K-POP artist NCT and will provide a differentiated experience to visiting fans and customers,” said Kim Beom-su, Starbucks Korea marketing manager.

Since the collaboration was announced, netizens have posted comments on NCT’s social media accounts such as boycotting Starbucks. 

The NCT Instagram account promotes all NCT groups including NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV and NCT Wish, and individual projects. 

As a result of the boycott, NCT lost a little over a million followers on Instagram . 

Based on data from analytics website Social Blade, in eight days from May 29 to June 5, NCT’s Instagram account lost a total of 1,087,756 followers. 

The biggest decrease was on May 30, or on the first day of the Starbucks Korea-NCT promo, when NCT’s Instagram account lost 480,786 followers. 

The following day, May 31, the Instagram account lost 188,514 followers. On May 29, it decreased by 185,306 followers. 

As of this writing, NCT’s Instagram account had 16.2 million followers. 

In addition, NCT’s X (formerly Twitter) account @NCTsmtown also lost 131,705 followers in seven days from May 30 to June 5. 

The biggest decrease was on May 30 with 52,475 people unfollowing the account. As of this writing, it had 11.1 million followers.
