Easytrip RFID Registration & Installation of Sticker — A Complete Guide

Steps for easytrip rfid registration & installation of sticker.

EASYTRIP RFID – You can check the guide below for the registration and installation of the sticker for a more convenient expressway passage.

There are several expressways in Metro Manila. These expressways make traveling so much faster for countless vehicles on a daily basis. Truth be told that the heavy traffic in the major roads in the capital region can truly be challenging most especially if you need to make it to your destination on time.

The San Miguel Corporation and the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation are managing several expressways in the Philippines. If you pass by these expressways, you need to pay for the fees like the NLEX toll fee when you pass by the North Luzon Expressway.

If you want an easier mode of paying for the toll fee as you frequently pass expressways, you may consider registering in the Easytrip RFID. You can check the steps below on how you can register.

The Easytrip RFID can be utilized in paying for the toll fees of the expressways under the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation. You can use your card for a cashless payment of the following toll fees:

  • North Luzon Expressway (NLEX)
  • Cavite–Laguna Expressway (CALAX)
  • Subic–Clark–Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX)
  • C5-Link Flyover
  • Manila – Cavite Toll Expressway Project (CAVITEX)

There is no cost in registering for the Easytrip RFID. There is also an easy process to register including the installation of the sticker that will be checked everytime you pass by the MPTC expressways and present your card for a cashless payment of the toll fee.

  • Step 1 — Visit the official website of the Easytrip and download a copy of the registration form.
  • Step 2 — Print the registration form and accomplish it with the necessary information which includes both personal information and details about the vehicle you want to register.
  • Step 3 — Go to any of the installation stations. Here is a guide on the schedule of installation in some stations:
  • CAVITEX C5 Link Customer Service Center (Class 1 and Class 2) – 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM Daily
  • CAVITEX C5 Link, Merville Entry – 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Daily
  • CAVITEX C5 Link, Taguig Entry – 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Daily

NLEX-SCTEX-NLEX Connector

  • NLEX Connector C3 Entry Ramp – 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Daily
  • NLEX Connector Espana Toll Plaza – 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Daily
  • SeaOil SCTEX Northbound (Class 1) – 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Daily

From 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Daily:

  • Balintawak Weighing Station (All Classes) – right side after toll plaza

  • Before Sta. Rosa Entry Toll Plaza (Class 1) – 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Daily

  • CAVITEX Customer Service Center – Cavite-bound AND Manila-bound – 5:00 AM – 12:00 AM Daily
  • Longos Bacoor Northbound – Manila-bound Longos Entry – 6 PM Daily
  • Kawit Northbound – before Kawit Toll Plaza Manila-bound – 6 PM Daily
  • Step 4 — You don’t have to pay for the sticker as it comes for free. You just have to put in some load to your RFID card. The load requirement depends on which station you registered for the Easytrip RFID. In case you registered at a South station, you will have to load P200. For registrations made at the stations in the North, you must have at least P500 load.
  • Step 5 — The sticker will be installed to your car. You can start with cashless transactions everytime you pass by the MPTC-managed expressways.

How to Apply for RFID STICKER for SLEX, NLEX, CAVITEX, etc. (EasyTrip & Autosweep)

How to Apply for RFID STICKER for SLEX, NLEX, CAVITEX, etc. (EasyTrip & Autosweep)

By continuing to read this article, you agree to double-check with the concerned establishments for the latest updates.

Starting December 1, 2020, all expressways will be using a cashless payment system. Meaning, ALL vehicle owners and operators, public and private, need to get an RFID account for their vehicles if they wish to use these tollways.

Aside from convenience, the transition to a cashless payment system is expected to also reduce the risk of transferring viruses and other contagious diseases.

Here are more details about the RFID application process.

Note: This article will focus more on personal-use vehicles. The requirements and process might be different for businesses and public transportation vehicles.

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?

What is RFID?

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification, which works through exchanging data between the RFID reader and the sticker tags using electromagnetic fields.

When you get your vehicle’s RFID account, a sticker tag will be installed on your car — either on the left portion of your windshield or on the left headlamp. You will also receive your RFID account physical card. The sticker tag will trigger the RFID reader when you enter the electromagnetic field radius at the toll gates.

In case the device failed to read your sticker tag, do not panic. Just give your RFID card to the attendant. Ensure that you always have your card with you or you can just keep it in a safe place inside your car.

Autosweep or EasyTrip?

There are two types of RFID in Luzon — the Autosweep and the EasyTrip . Autosweep and EasyTrip are not one and the same. They are not interchangeable. To give you a clearer picture, we’ve listed the area coverage of each RFID.

STAR Tollway

Which should you get? Well, it depends on your route. In my family’s case, we travel mostly in the south, so we only have Autosweep. But now that we also take CALAX, we also need the EasyTrip RFID. The DOTr site suggested that we can enroll our Autosweep RFID to EasyTrip. More about this later.

How to Enroll or Register

There are many ways to have an RFID sticker installed:

  • By setting an appointment online
  • By heading to installation sites not covered by online appointment system
  • By scheduling an off-site RFID installation in your area (by request and subject to availability)
  • By going to the appropriate lane at toll gates or installation tent/site near toll booths

To avoid long queues, both EASYTRIP and AUTOSWEEP are encouraging applicants to set an appointment online. Note that although the start of implementation is December 1, it is still possible to schedule an appointment after that date.

  • For EasyTrip , walk-ins are still accommodated in most installation sites. However, take note of the stations with EasyTrip ORRAS (Online RFID Registration & Appointment System) because they won’t take in walk-ins. Please be there on time or a few minutes prior to your schedule. Set an online appointment for EasyTrip installation here!
  • For Autosweep , the management will only accept those who secured an appointment online. No walk-ins*. Set an online appointment for Autosweep installation here!

*Update: In a media interview, San Miguel Corporation COO Ramon Ang said that Autosweep stations will resume accepting walk-in applicants, but those who made an appointment online will enjoy special handling. It’s not clear when this will be rolled out.

If you have multiple cars, you can either get each vehicle its own RFID account number or get one account for all of them. You need to get the “Premium” to apply multiple vehicles under one account.

If you only have one unit, you may opt for the regular one (“To Go”) which only allows one vehicle per account.

  • You can also get your stick-it-yourself EasyTrip tag from Shopee Mall. Just follow the instruction included in your package on how to install it. Don’t forget to register your account online on their website. However, due to high demand, it is currently sold out.
  • Again, ensure that your Autosweep and/or EasyTrip account(s) are registered. Go to the official website of Autosweep and EasyTrip to check your status.
  • Here are the initial loads: Autosweep Class 1 vehicles, P200; Class 2/3, P1,000. For EasyTrip, P200-500.

Autosweep and EasyTrip in One RFID Sticker Tag

If you are wondering if it’s possible for you to have both Autosweep and EasyTrip in one RFID sticker tag, well, this is possible. But here’s the catch: this is only possible for those with existing Autosweep RFID sticker tag. This can’t be done the other way around. At least for now.

If you already have an Autosweep RFID sticker tag, this section is for you. Here’s how to register your Autosweep RFID to EasyTrip:

  • Go to your chosen EasyTrip installation site.
  • The authorized EasyTrip staff will give you the registration form to fill out.
  • The staff will inspect your Autosweep RFID sticker tag and will be the one to activate and register your Autosweep RFID to EasyTrip.
  • You will need to pay P200 for the initial load of your EasyTrip account.
  • Your EasyTrip account will be activated within 24 hours after registration.
  • You have to wait 5-7 days to get your EasyTrip physical card.

Note: For unified Autosweep and EasyTrip RFID, you still have two separate accounts under that one RFID sticker tag — one for Autosweep transactions and another one for EasyTrip transactions. You will also have two different RFID account physical cards — one for each provider.

EasyTrip Registration Sites for Autosweep RFID Holders

Not all EasyTrip installation and registration sites are running this service, so here are those that offer registration of Autosweep RFID to EasyTrip. Note that this list might change, so please check for updates on the EasyTrip official Facebook page.

How to Load RFID

Take note of the maintaining balance for each RFID provider. Do not let it go below that to avoid delays and penalties. Getting your account deactivated is very likely when you failed to use it for a month with a load below the maintaining balance.

What’s great, though, is that there are many ways to reload your RFID account. Choose the method that is most convenient for you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

On November 22, Asec. Goddes Hope Libiran of the Communications and Commuter Affairs Office of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), answered on her FB page some of the most frequently asked questions about the RFID installation. You can find some of them below.

Pwede pa rin bang magpakabit ng RFID sticker kahit after December 1?

Yes. December 1 is the deadline for toll operators to implement the cashless transaction. But it doesn’t mean that it’s the last day of installation.

You can still apply for an RFID sticker even after December 2020, especially if it’s your first time to use the tollway.

Wala na akong makitang available na appointment schedule online. Ano ang dapat gawin?

If online appointment systems are full, DON’T PANIC. You can still have an RFID installed at the toll gates. There are many ways of getting an RFID sticker and getting an online appointment is just one of them.

Mahuhuli ba ako o may penalty ba kapag wala akong RFID before December 1?

According to the DOTr, “ Wala pong mangyayaring hulihan mula December 1 hanggang January 11, 2021 para sa mga sasakyang walang RFID.”

After January 1, there will only be one or two lanes at the gates dedicated to sticker installations. There will be huge signages so motorists know which lanes they should take. If a motorist without RFID queue at the wrong lane (RFID-only lane), that’s when they will get citation tickets.

May expiration ba ang load ng RFID?

Wala. Walang expiration ang load sa RFID.

Saan pwedeng tumawag kung may problema ako tungkol sa RFID sticker?

How to enroll EasyTrip RFID to Autosweep

enroll-easytrip-rfid-to-autosweep

RFIDs have really innovated the way we use expressways in the Philippines. Still, it comes with a few annoyances that really needs an immediate fix.

For one, you need to have two RFID stickers to use any expressways in the Philippines. There’s EasyTrip for MPTC-made expressways such as NLEX, SCTEX, CALAX, and CAVITEX. The other one is Autosweep for SMC Infrastructure roads such as NAIAX, SKYWAY, SLEX, MCX, TPLEX, and STARTOLL.

NLEX-RFID-toll

This means that drivers and riders will have to apply, reload, and attach two separate RFIDs to their vehicles. This is the reason why a lot of Filipinos are clamoring for a unified system for RFIDs.

One lawmaker is already pushing to unify both Autosweep and EasyTrip to help Filipinos with the hassle of applying and reloading two separate RFIDs account.

How to enroll my EasyTrip RFID to Autosweep

Step 1: Get the downloadable Autosweep application form here and have it printed: https://autosweeprfid.com/v4/web/forms/

Step 2: Fill out the form.

Step 3: Bring the form, together with one valid government ID or company-issued ID and your vehicle with the EasyTrip sticker to your nearest Autosweep Customer Service Center or kiosk.

Step 4: An Autosweep representative will check if your EasyTrip RFID sticker is compatible. If it is, your account shall be activated.

Once you’ve submitted the requirement and an Autosweep representative has tested your EasyTrip RFID successfully, it is instantly activated and can now be used on SMC tollways.

No. Only the newer EasyTrip RFID with neology technology can be used for the Autosweep system. You can have it checked on Autosweep kiosks and service centers to see if it’s compatible.

Alternatively, here’s a guide on how you can check yourself and have your EasyTrip RFID sticker and card replaced with the new one.

Vehicles under the Class 1, 2, and 3 categories can have the new neology RFID stickers from both Autosweep and EasyTrip.

Can I use my EasyTrip RFID sticker to Autosweep/SMC tollways?

Yes. The goal of this new feature is to allow EasyTrip users to apply their RFIDs to Autosweep. Once done, your EasyTrip RFID sticker can now be used in SMC tollways that accept Autosweep.

Shared wallet load is not available at the moment, but may soon be. While you can use your EasyTrip RFID to Autosweep tollways, they will still have their separate load wallets.

So before you enter a tollway, make sure you check your Autosweep and EasyTrip RFID balance .

Once you’ve enrolled your EasyTrip account to Autosweep, you can now use it for these SMC tollways:

If you already enrolled your EasyTrip to Autosweep but your RFID can’t be read on SMC tollways, you can proceed to your nearest Autosweep station and have an Autosweep RFID sticker installed for free.

Immediately proceed to your nearest Autosweep location to replace your sticker. Then, go to an EasyTrip Customer Service Center to update your account.

No. Autosweep said that you can’t remove your existing sticker as long as it’s still active and still work on SMC tollways.

But if it’s already broken and can’t be read on SMC tollways, only then you can have your EasyTrip RFID linked to your Autosweep so you’d only be keeping one sticker.

Those are the things you should know when enrolling your EasyTrip RFID sticker to Autosweep. If you have further questions, let us know in the comments below and someone from the team or the community will try to help you out.

So, if i am recently enrolled to Autosweep and my sticker still obviously works, then i will have to enroll to Easytrip and actually have the two sticikers on my headlight until the day that the Autosweep for whatever reason stops working and i can then register the new type Easytrip strip to Autosweep and just have that one strip.

May i know how will i enrol my easytrip rfid card to autosweep rfid, so that i can use the easytrip card to any expressyways service by autosweep, such as slex, skyway, star toll, tplex, etc.

Easytrip RFID Guide: Installation and Set-up

The use of Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) is just one of the innovative and efficient ways of breezing through toll booths. Easytrip RFID is one of the many RFID systems that offer a convenient solution that not only saves time but also simplifies the toll payment process.

Though it isn’t the only RFID system available in the country, Easytrip RFID offers a unique combination of widespread acceptance, efficiency, ease of installation, multiple reload options, comprehensive online account management, and collaboration with banks, making it a preferred choice for motorists in the Philippines. In this guide, we’ll explore everything there is to know about Easytrip RFID—from the basics of getting it installed and set up to the process of using it to make an overall better travel experience.

What is Easytrip RFID?

Easytrip RFID is an electronic toll collection system offered by the Easytrip Services Corporation, Metro Pacific Tollway Company (MPTC)’s exclusive electronic toll collection system integrator and provider in some of the major expressways in the Philippines. It eliminates the need for traditional cash payments, allowing for a faster and more seamless tollgate experience.

The RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) technology enables automatic payment as your vehicle passes through the toll booth in North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) , Subic Clark Tarlac  Expressway (SCTEX), Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), C5 Link Flyover, and Cavite- Laguna   Expressway (CALAX).

Easytrip RFID also refers to the government-endorsed radio frequency identification sticker affixed to a vehicle’s windshield or headlight. Like the Autosweep RFID, Easytrip RFID is also designed to facilitate contactless and cashless payment of toll fees. As you approach the designated Easytrip RFID lane at the toll plaza, a specialized sensor reads your sticker, swiftly lifting the toll barrier without the need to wait in the cash lane or search for cash in your wallet or coin holder.

Why Easytrip RFID is the Best RFID Option

Easytrip RFID stands out among other RFID systems in the Philippines for several reasons:

  • Widespread Acceptance

Easytrip RFID is widely accepted across major expressways in the Philippines. This widespread acceptance provides users with the convenience of using a single RFID system for toll payments, making it versatile for various travel routes.

  • Integrated Toll Network

Easytrip RFID is part of a network that covers a substantial number of toll booths and expressways, particularly those in NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, C5 Link, and CALAX. However, a new Easytrip RFID sticker with Neology stickers (RFID Duo) and higher readability was released, creating a more integrated toll collection system. This integration enhances the user experience by allowing them the option to link the Easytrip RFID with Autosweep RFID. In doing so, the driver gains the ability to utilize their Easytrip RFID at SMC’s Autosweep RFID toll gates, courtesy of the Toll Regulatory Board’s toll interoperability project. The Autosweep System can read the new Easytrip RFIDs equipped with Neology stickers (RFID Duo), allowing it to be used to make convenient payments in tollways managed by SMC, including the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway, South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway, NAIA Expressway, Tarlac – Pangasinan -La Union Expressway (TPLEX), and MCX ( Muntinlupa – Cavite Expressway).

  • Efficient and Fast Transactions

The technology behind Easytrip RFID enables fast and efficient toll transactions. Users can experience quicker processing times at toll booths, reducing congestion and streamlining the overall travel experience.

  • Ease of Installation and Accessibility

Easytrip RFID stickers are relatively easy to obtain, with installation sites located conveniently near toll plazas and service centers. The accessibility of installation sites makes it convenient for motorists to get and install the RFID stickers without much hassle.

  • Multiple Reload Options

Easytrip RFID users have various options for reloading funds into their accounts. Whether it’s through designated reloading stations, online platforms, or mobile apps provided by partner banks, the flexibility in reloading methods adds to the convenience of using Easytrip RFID.

  • Comprehensive Online Account Management

Easytrip provides an online platform for users to manage their accounts efficiently. Through the Easytrip website or mobile apps, users can monitor their account balances, review transaction histories, and reload their accounts, offering a user-friendly and comprehensive management system.

  • Collaboration with Partner Banks

Easytrip has established collaborations with partner banks, allowing users to reload their RFID accounts through these bank channels. This partnership expands the accessibility of reloading options, catering to a broader user base.

While other RFID systems may have their merits, Easytrip RFID’s combination of widespread acceptance, efficiency, ease of installation, multiple reload options, comprehensive online account management, and collaboration with banks contribute to making it a preferred choice for motorists in the Philippines.

Benefits of Using Easytrip RFID

Using Easytrip RFID offers numerous benefits that enhance the overall travel experience:

  • Time Efficiency

Easytrip RFID enables swift and automatic toll transactions, reducing waiting times at toll booths. This time efficiency is particularly valuable during peak travel hours.

  • Cashless Convenience

With Easytrip RFID, drivers can enjoy the convenience of cashless transactions. There’s no need to carry physical cash, eliminating the risk of fumbling for change or dealing with toll booth attendants.

  • Seamless Toll Payments

Easytrip RFID ensures a seamless toll payment process. As you approach the designated RFID lanes, the system automatically deducts the toll fee from your account, allowing for a smooth passage through toll plazas.

  • Reduced Traffic Congestion

The efficiency of Easytrip RFID contributes to the overall reduction of traffic congestion at toll booths. Quicker transactions mean less waiting time, benefiting both individual drivers and the flow of traffic.

  • Versatility Across Expressways

Easytrip RFID is widely accepted across major expressways in the Philippines. This versatility allows drivers to use the same RFID sticker on different expressways, providing a unified toll payment solution for various travel routes.

  • Online Account Management

Users can conveniently manage their Easytrip RFID accounts online. This includes checking account balances, reviewing transaction histories, and reloading funds through the Easytrip website or mobile apps.

  • Compatibility with Interoperable Systems

Easytrip RFID’s compatibility with interoperable systems, such as Autosweep, expands the range of expressways where it can be used. This interoperability enhances the flexibility of the RFID system for drivers.

  • Cost-Effective Travel

The efficiency of Easytrip RFID translates into cost-effective travel. By minimizing time spent at toll booths and eliminating the need for physical cash, drivers can experience more economical and streamlined journeys.

  • Convenient Installation and Reload Options

Easytrip RFID installation is easily accessible at authorized sites near toll plazas. Additionally, drivers have multiple options for reloading funds, including designated reloading stations, online platforms, and mobile apps provided by partner banks.

  • Enhanced Security

The RFID technology used in Easytrip enhances security, as transactions are electronically processed, reducing the risk of theft or loss associated with carrying cash.

You may visit an authorized Easytrip installation site, typically located near toll plazas or service centers. Fill out the application form, submit the required documents ( vehicle registration , valid ID), and have the RFID sticker installed on your vehicle’s windshield and wait for your vehicle to undergo testing.

Simply make your way to any of the Easytrip stations located along NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, C5 Link, and CALAX. This hassle-free option eliminates the need for complex documentation, allowing you to use your Easytrip RFID immediately.

Step 2. Load your Easytrip account:

Once you have the RFID sticker, you need to load funds into your Easytrip account. You can do this at designated reloading stations, online through the Easytrip website, or via mobile apps provided by partner banks.

Note that the amount may vary based on the station. For Easytrip RFID installations at South stations, a ₱200 fee applies, while North stations require a ₱500 payment for the initial load.

Using Easytrip RFID

Once you have the Easytrip RFID sticker and the necessary topup, then you may already drive through tollways and try using it.

Here’s how you do it:

Step 1. Approach the toll booth.

As you approach a toll booth, make sure to use the designated RFID lane. These lanes are usually marked with Easytrip signs.

Step 2. Maintain a steady speed.

Approach the toll gate at a moderate speed, around 20 to 25 km/h. This ensures that the RFID reader can efficiently scan your Easytrip sticker.

Step 3. Keep a safe distance.
