Edinburgh Rugby partner with Gullivers Sports Travel

Edinburgh Rugby and Gullivers Sports Travel are delighted to announce a three-year partnership agreement which sees the UK’s leading sports travel operator become the club’s Official Travel Partner.

Gullivers Sports Travel will arrange all away travel for the capital squad, while allowing supporters to follow Edinburgh for select fixtures in both the BKT United Rugby Championship and EPCR Challenge Cup.

The partnership with the UK’s leading and longest-established multi-sport tour operator will allow fans to get behind the team closer than ever before, while travelling to some of Europe’s biggest and brightest rugby destinations.

Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director Struth hailed the new travel partnership, which comes into action with immediate effect ahead of the upcoming and highly anticipated 2023/24 season.

Struth said: “We’re absolutely delighted to partner with Gullivers Sports Travel. New deal with Gullivers Sports Travel and Events International

The Welsh Rugby Union and Gullivers Sports Travel have signed a new long-term agreement which will continue to benefit both supporters and the game in Wales until 2031.

A partnership with the UK’s leading, and longest established, multi-sport tour operator was first launched in 2014 and was renewed in 2019.

But the latest multi-million-pound agreement breaks new ground, seeing the two organisations collaborating even more closely, ensuring proceeds generated from the sale of official WRU travel packages through Gullivers Sports Travel continue to be re-invested into Welsh rugby.

In tandem with the new arrangement with Gullivers Sports Travel, Events International has extended its partnership with Welsh rugby to provide official WRU off-site hospitality for the same period.

“We are delighted to have agreed a long-term extension to our partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union,” said Neil Salmon, Managing Director of Gullivers Sports Travel and Events International.

“Our staff take great pride in working with such a prestigious organisation and delivering for Welsh rugby fans. We look forward to continuing to develop our Official Supporter Travel and Official Off-site Hospitality programmes in partnership with the WRU.

“Looking ahead, we have a fantastic Autumn Nations Series in Cardiff this year and in 2023 we have a couple of pretty special Cardiff Guinness Six Nations matchdays to deliver with the visits of Ireland and England; and, of course, later in the year we’ll be looking after thousands of Welsh fans across France during Rugby World Cup 2023.”

The new agreement allows Wales supporters to follow the team every step of the way, be it the Wales tour to South Africa this summer, playing three Tests in Pretoria, Bloemfontein and then Cape Town, or when hosting New Zealand, Argentina and Australia – alongside Georgia – in Cardiff in the autumn.

Gullivers Sports Travel and Events International will continue to work with the WRU to provide money can’t buy experiences and offer fans a truly unforgettable experience when supporting Wales, ensuring they need not miss a pass, tackle, run, step or kick of the top class action, home or away.

With every Official Gullivers Sports Travel package purchased profits are ‘passed back’ into Welsh rugby, to support continued development at all levels from grassroots through to the professional game.

“Our new partnership means rugby fans will be able to access enhanced, unique and exclusive WRU packages delivered with the established expertise of Gullivers Sports Travel,” said WRU CEO Steve Phillips.

“Starting in South Africa, where Wales tour this summer, and moving to our Autumn Nations Series matches, to next year’s Guinness Six Nations and into the Rugby World Cup in France, Gullivers Sports Travel will be on hand to service every need of the travelling Wales supporter and to offer the very best of matchday experiences whether at home in Cardiff or for away matches.

A great trip to see the T20 world cup…

A great trip to see the T20 world cup in Barbados and Antigua which was a great experience with excellent accommodation, beautiful hotel facilities, glorious weather, good company and entertaining sport. All very well organised by Gullivers Travel and their team in the UK and on the tour itself.

Sunny Barbados

Just returned from a fantastic 10 night break In Barbados with Gullivers to watch the T20 Cricket World Cup. Extremely well organised trip, quality hotel / transfers and a great tour manager. Just a shame the England Cricket team performed below normal standards! Overall a brilliant experience and we’ll definitely be booking with Gullivers again!

Thank you Gullivers sports travel for a wonderful sporting lifetime experience. From a child in the 1980’s I always wanted to experience Monaco through the racing event and life experience. The experience didn’t disappoint. Your travel guide Gary was excellent. Very informative and checked I was alright through the weekend. His 400 Grand prix plus experience showed. It was great to see a Ferrari win. The Monaco scenery and whole experience was breathtaking. On this basis I would happy travel again. All the best. Thank you.

Why not 5*? I would have preferred more time from when the Tour Package became available for purchase to the tour taking place. The time was limited if you had to arrange to have (say) travel vaccinations. Otherwise, well managed, well communicated, well represented, well run. A great trip.

A great rugby tour.

Gullivers arranged everything, all I had to do was turn up and enjoy. There was telephone support for any queries before travel, and during our stay, Lauren the tour leader was always available. She had lots of recommendations for trips and places to visit. We were very well looked after and I would thoroughly recommend traveling with Gulliver's sports.

Booked the quarter final weekend at…

Booked the quarter final weekend at the rugby world cup in paris through Gullivers and paid extra to upgrade our seats on the trip. Hotel ok, however the hotel bar was closed when we came back after the match. ( kick off 9pm ) the sat evening game seats were good however the sunday night game seats were terrible france v south africa. We were up at the very last row with the top teir above us and because of the slope of the top teir it blocks your view of the big screens and you cant really see the play at the opposite corner of the pitch. Very dissapointing after paying extra to upgrade our seats. My son who booked the trip did email gullivers outlining our dissapointment and as yet has not received any reply. A response at least would have been nice.

Good guides and very helpful with local…

Good guides and very helpful with local restaurants and bars. If any criticism it would be the transportation to the matches as the local drivers did not do their homework regarding parking at the stadiums. This did not detract from the overall experience

Rugby World Cup in Nice

Rugby World Cup in Nice. Brilliant communication throughout. There was a possibility of an air traffic control strike but they communicated well in advance and had alternate plans if required. In the end it came to nothing, but good to see Gullivers were fully committed to getting us to France. When we arrived there were plenty of Reps who worked tirelessly to get us to the games. In addition they checked in regularly to ensure we made the most of the experience. The Clubhouse event was a great addition. Will definitely use again. Well done Gullivers and thank you for a memorable trip.

Excellent service

Everything from beginning to end. Helpful customer service staff who answered any queries promptly and efficiently and went the extra mile to help. Easy booking process. Plenty of staff around to help direct at airport/Eurostar. Friendly, helpful staff in resorts. Good selection of hotels.

Poor pre match “entertainment”

We win the opportunity to watch the Captain’s run which was great. However we’d also paid for pre match free bar, food and entertainment which was hopeless. We were unable to watch the Ireland game because the TV didn’t work, the seats were facing the wrong way, people were forced to stand in front of the non working TV and the food was poor. Sorry Gullivers but not good at all. I expect i now have a reputation for complaining but the truth is I rarely complain

Marseille trip

Great trip, thanks to all at Gullivers. Whilst everyone was great, we have to make a special mention to Simon, who dealt with the pressures of traffic/ coach driver etc for the England game admirably-calm head under pressure who never stop smiling. Look forward to seeing you all again on the Eurostar for the Chile game weekend.

Trip to Belgium for the F1

We had a wonderful family experience at the Belgium GP. Our Reps Gary and Andy were first class. Very knowledgeable on F1 and very keen that everyone enjoyed the full experience. The Belgium GP is one we've had our eyes on for a while. It didn't disappoint. The hotel in Liege was fantastic and very central for all the bars and restaurants. Our seats for the race were brilliant. We were on Au Rouge and enjoyed every minute of Practice/Quali/Race. We will definitely book again with Gullivers.

This is what good looks like !

The company were excellent from beginning to end. We booked a rugby trip for a special birthday and the management and support was incredible and well worth the money. One of our party lost their wallet on the bus and Gullivers found it and brought it back to the UK. Gullivers fantastic cricket travels to NZ

We toured New Zealand with Gullivers sport travel. The experience was positive throughout . The cricket and venues were excellent ,when the tests had concluded we continued South Island which was beautiful . Wonderful weekend at Silverstone

Wonderful weekend at Silverstone. Adrian is an absolute superstar. He made sure everyone was kept informed and had time for everyone. Hotel was in safe location which was important being a woman on her own and most comfortable. The coach transfers were so easy. Can’t wait to make a return trip

Returned from weekend in Dublin for six…

Returned from weekend in Dublin for six nations Ireland Wales match with Gullivers. Fantastic, apart from the score. Weather was bad withstood Clara BUT Gullivers staff, particularly Emma, Kelly and Jordan were amazing. Cardiff flight diverted to Manchester and coached from there back to Cardiff. All Gullivers staff were great in arranging coaches with Jet2 airline staff, who were also amazing. Well done and thank you all for all you efforts.

Good guides and very helpful with local restaurants and bars. If any criticism it would be the transportation to the matches as the local drivers did not do their homework regarding parking at the stadiums. This did not detract from the overall experience

Rugby World Cup in Nice

Rugby World Cup in Nice. Brilliant communication throughout. There was a possibility of an air traffic control strike but they communicated well in advance and had alternate plans if required. In the end it came to nothing, but good to see Gullivers were fully committed to getting us to France. When we arrived there were plenty of Reps who worked tirelessly to get us to the games. In addition they checked in regularly to ensure we made the most of the experience. The Clubhouse event was a great addition. Will definitely use again. Well done Gullivers and thank you for a memorable trip.

Excellent service

Everything from beginning to end. Helpful customer service staff who answered any queries promptly and efficiently and went the extra mile to help. Easy booking process. Plenty of staff around to help direct at airport/Eurostar. Friendly, helpful staff in resorts. Good selection of hotels.

Poor pre match “entertainment”

We win the opportunity to watch the Captain’s run which was great. However we’d also paid for pre match free bar, food and entertainment which was hopeless. We were unable to watch the Ireland game because the TV didn’t work, the seats were facing the wrong way, people were forced to stand in front of the non working TV and the food was poor. Sorry Gullivers but not good at all. I expect i now have a reputation for complaining but the truth is I rarely complain

Marseille trip

Great trip, thanks to all at Gullivers. Whilst everyone was great, we have to make a special mention to Simon, who dealt with the pressures of traffic/ coach driver etc for the England game admirably-calm head under pressure who never stop smiling. Look forward to seeing you all again on the Eurostar for the Chile game weekend.

Trip to Belgium for the F1

We had a wonderful family experience at the Belgium GP. Our Reps Gary and Andy were first class. Very knowledgeable on F1 and very keen that everyone enjoyed the full experience. The Belgium GP is one we've had our eyes on for a while. It didn't disappoint. The hotel in Liege was fantastic and very central for all the bars and restaurants. Our seats for the race were brilliant. We were on Au Rouge and enjoyed every minute of Practice/Quali/Race. We will definitely book again with Gullivers.

The company were excellent from beginning to end. We booked a rugby trip for a special birthday and the management and support was incredible and well worth the money. One of our party lost their wallet on the bus and Gullivers found it and brought it back to the UK. Gullivers fantastic cricket travels to NZ

We toured New Zealand with Gullivers sport travel. The experience was positive throughout . The cricket and venues were excellent ,when the tests had concluded we continued South Island which was beautiful . The areas where we stayed during our journey through the South Island were amazing . Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to NZ made special by our tour manger Murray Scott and Co

Wonderful weekend at Silverstone

Wonderful weekend at Silverstone. Adrian is an absolute superstar. He made sure everyone was kept informed and had time for everyone. Hotel was in safe location which was important being a woman on her own and most comfortable. The coach transfers were so easy. Can’t wait to make a return trip

Returned from weekend in Dublin for six…

Returned from weekend in Dublin for six nations Ireland Wales match with Gullivers. Fantastic, apart from the score. Weather was bad withstood Clara BUT Gullivers staff, particularly Emma, Kelly and Jordan were amazing. Cardiff flight diverted to Manchester and coached from there back to Cardiff. All Gullivers staff were great in arranging coaches with Jet2 airline staff, who were also amazing. Well done and thank you all for all you efforts.
