I Tried the Blissy Silk Pillowcase (Honest Review)

In today’s article, I’m sharing my honest Bliss review of their silk pillowcase. If you haven’t switched over to a  silk pillowcase , you’ve got to do your skin and hair a favor. While I’ve used cheap silk pillowcases for years (from Amazon and Kitsch), I recently started using Blissy’s high quality silk pillowcase and the difference is HUGE. Fabric and Construction

Blissy's pillowcase is 100% mulberry silk with a 22 momme fabric weight. Here's why these specifications matter:

• 100% silk is important to note because sometimes cheaper "silky" or "satin" pillowcases are made of synthetics like polyester. Real silk is more luxurious and also naturally temperature-regulating, helping to keep you cooler as you sleep.
• Mulberry silk is considered the highest quality silk because the fibers are more uniform, making the fabric smoother and more durable. Think of this as the "Egyptian cotton" version of silk.
• Momme describes the fabric weight and lets you know how much silk is used. A momme of 19 and lower will typically be thinner, while a momme of 22 or higher feels more substantial and performs the best in our tests.

Though silk is often thought of as high maintenance, most pillowcases on the market — including Blissy's — are actually machine washable. Just make sure to air dry it, as heat can damage the fabric. Also note that the pillowcase is constructed with a zipper closure, which helps keep the pillow secure inside the cover. Because silk can feel a bit slippery, the pillow will be more prone to sliding out if there's an opening at the side.

We put the Blissy silk fabric through the wringer in our Lab and then used it at home for real-world feedback. In the end, Blissy's pillowcase has outperformed dozens of other silk pillowcases in our evaluations. Here's what we found in each of our tests:

• Smoothness: This is quite possibly the most important quality of a silk pillowcase, and Blissy aced our in-Lab and at-home evaluations. Not only did it feel exceptionally smooth when it was brand new, but it retained its smoothness after we laundered it five times, which is a big feat for silk. Just note that we found it to be a tad slippery in our at-home reviews; sometimes it even slipped off the bed in the night.

• Durability: Though it's not the strongest silk material we've tested, it was still above average in our fabric strength tests that we performed using a specialized machine called the Instron (pictured below, left). It also proved to be pill-resistant when we used our Martindale machine (pictured below, right) to rub the fabric 1,000 times.
• Temperature Regulation: The fabric wicked moisture well in our tests, which means it can help you feel cooler and dryer throughout the night.
• Skin and hair benefits: Our testers had thick hair with varying textures, and they unanimously said they didn't wake up with bedhead. They also didn't notice any creases on their faces after sleeping on the Blissy pillowcase.

This is the best pillow case ever. I can wash my hair at night sleep with it wet and wake up with it soft & shiny. And it won’t have knots it. Possibly the best selling point of the Blissy Face Mask is that it doesn’t cause acne. Though I’m thankful I didn’t have to wear one for work when they were required, I know some who have had “maskne” because of it.

Breakouts around the mouth and face are common with other types of masks, but since Blissy’s are 100% Pure Mulberry Silk, they are hypoallergenic and are extremely gentle on your face.

BEWARE : I experienced execrable customer service . Total disappointment . Plus BEWARE buyers in U.K. : ‘ standard size ‘ is an American standard and 10 cms SHORTER than a U.K. standard . I got bitten by this and Blissy charmlessly refused to acknowledge that reference to ‘ standard ‘ for U.K. buyers could be misleading and refund postage for return of an item which cannot be used on U.K. standard pillow . No reaching out to customer in understanding or acknowledgement of this issue .

How do I straighten out my order? Customer service is never open!

If someone doesn’t help me I’m calling my credit card.

On the day I ordered they over charged for my order then emailing them several times they claimed they didn’t give the discount that I was supposed to get, so told them to cancel. I told them to cancel in many emails but the box just arrived today. Of coarse they aren’t open so will have to wait until tomorrow to deal w/this. I don’t know about how the actual pillowcases are because I never got past the piece of junk software they have for ordering them. It screwed up every time I tried. Don’t even try to fill out the order form if ordering a gift for someone as the software goes round and round and wants to send it to you each time instead of to the receiver. And, they don’t have a human/live support person to get help. I tried 3 times and finally gave up. A garage in China maybe???
