Sikkim Darjeeling Gangtok Tour Package Itinerary

Day 1 – bagdogra/pakyong/new jalpaiguri station/siliguri to gangtok.

You will be received by our representative at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Pakyong Airport. The representative will assist you on a journey to Gangtok. The road journey to Gangtok is adorned with picturesque landscapes and lush greenery. Gangtok is one of the best tourist destinations in northeast India for peace seekers and nature lovers.

On arrival in Gangtok, check into a hotel. Enjoy the delicious dinner at the hotel by own.

Overnight stay in Gangtok.

DAY-2 – Sightseeing in Gangtok

After a delicious breakfast, you will get ready to explore the major tourist attractions in Gangtok. You will visit the famous Tsomgo Lake (12,210 ft) and proceed to the nearby sacred New Baba Mandir. If you want to visit the Nathula Pass (the Indo-China border), you have to inform us in advance. The permit costs an additional Rs.3000 per vehicle (the pass is closed on Mondays).

Later drive back to the Gangtok. In the evening, you can go for local sightseeing, followed by an overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.

DAY-3 - Half Day Gangtok Sightseeing and Gangtok to Darjeeling

The day 3 of the tour is divided into the 2 parts: In the first half of the day, you will explore the major tourist attractions of Gangtok namely: 1. Ropeway 2. Do-Drul Chorten 3. Namgyal Institute of Tibetology 4. Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (Sunday Closed) 5. Flower Show (Orchid)

In the later part of the day, you will embark on the beautiful road journey from Gangtok to Darjeeling. The road trip is dotted with unspoiled natural beauty, alpine landscapes, and peaceful lakes and rivers. Upon arrival in Darjeeling, check into a hotel and explore the local area in the evening by own.

DAY-4 - Sightseeing in Darjeeling and its nearby attractions

Early in the morning, at 4 AM, you will leave for Tiger Hill to see the sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga. The beautiful and enthralling experience set the vibe for the rest of the day. You will return to the hotel, have breakfast, and get ready to visit the major attractions of Darjeeling, like:

IRCTC is offering a five nights, six days tour package to Eastern Himalayas. The perennially snow-capped mountains, lush green tropical and temperate forests, gurgling streams and the rich flora and fauna – a true Shangrila or “Nye-mae-el” which simply means ‘heaven’. Situated in North East India, just south of Sikkim, Darjeeling provides the perfect ambiance of a hill resort with it’s mild climate and laid back charm. Its verdant hills and valleys are steeped in colour, and are interspersed with vast stretches of rolling green tea gardens. Presiding over all this is Mt. Kangchenjunga, the third highest mountain on Earth, looming over the northern horizon, giving a magical aura to the land that leaves one‟s senses intoxicated.

The Eastern Himalayas tour package begins on 24 November, 2019 from Delhi airport. The flight details are as follows:

The package tariff is as follows. For infants in the age group 0-4 years, the fare needs to be deposited in cash by customer at IRCTC office at the time of booking. For booking accommodation for children (2-4 years), without a separate bed, please contact: 09002040072

According to the itinerary, tourists will board flight no. AI-879 on 24th November, 2019 from Delhi towards Bagdogra airport at 11:15 hours. From Bagdogra, all tourists will be moved to a hotel in Kalimpong (85 km from Bagdogra). On day 2, sightseeing in Kalimpong is scheduled. Tourists will be taken to a guided tour to Pine View Nursery, Golf Course and Durbin Dhara Hills. In the afternoon, the tour will proceed to Gangtok and check-in to the hotel. In the evening, tourists can take a stroll on the famous MG market in Gangtok. On day 3, post-breakfast, a trip to Tsomgo lake (12,400 ft.) and Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial (13200 ft) is scheduled. Tsomgo Lake freezes completely during the winters and is much revered by the locals. The following day will be spent sightseeing around Gangtok. Tourists will be able to visit Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok and Tashi View Point, flower show and then leave for Darjeeling. In the evening, walk through Chowrasta, a wide promenade atop a ridge lined with shops and restaurants is taken to be the heart of the town. Here people gather to chat, spend time basking in the sun or just to snatch a moment of peace. Brabourne Park is attached to Chowrasta and now features a musical fountain. This place is an open place and free from vehicular movements from where one can watch the scenic beauty of the mountain range and take charm of walking at the Darjeeling Mall. Chowrasta is the central place of the Mall Road. On day 5, sightseeing around Tiger Hill, Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop, Japanese Temple, Zoo, HMI & Tibetan Handicraft centre is scheduled. On day 6, tourists shall check out of the hotel and move towards Bagdogra airport. From Bagdogra airport tourists will board flight no. AI-880, for return journey and depart at 13:50 hours. The arrival at Delhi airport is at 16.15 hours.

The ‘Eastern Himalayas’ tour package includes air fare for onward and return journey, accommodation in twin/triple sharing rooms in a deluxe hotel, all meals, road transportation and sightseeing, all permit and hotel taxes, tour manager services at Bagdogra.

The tour package does not include road transportation from Gangtok to the hotel, personal expenses such as heater, laundry, Darjeeling toy train ride, alcohol, soft drinks, sightseeing spots not mentioned in the itinerary, guide charges and entrance fees to monuments, any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances, increase in taxes or fuel price leading to increase in cost on surface transportation and land arrangements which may come into effect prior to departure.

3 Nights / 4 Days Itinerary

Day 01: arrival in gangtok.

Upon your arrival at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, you will be warmly greeted and assisted with your transfer to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Enjoy a scenic drive of approximately 120 km, lasting 4-5 hours, and check in at your hotel. The rest of the evening is free for you to relax and explore the charming town of Gangtok. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

Day 02: Excursion to Changu Lake & Baba Mandir

After a delicious breakfast, embark on an exciting excursion to Changu Lake (12,312 ft.) and Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.). These beautiful destinations are located 55 km from Gangtok and offer breathtaking natural beauty. The excursion will take place between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM. In the evening, return to Gangtok and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.

Optional: For Indian nationals, an additional tour to Nathula Pass (Alt 14,000 ft.) on the China border can be arranged (except on Mondays and Tuesdays) at an extra cost. Please note that permits for Nathula Pass are issued on the day of travel based on availability, and once issued, they are non-refundable. The required documents for the permit need to be submitted 7 days prior to the departure for Nathula Pass.

Day 03: Gangtok Local Sightseeing and Transfer to Darjeeling

Begin your day with a half-day tour of Gangtok city, starting at 8:30 AM and concluding at 12:30 PM. Visit popular attractions such as Bhakthang Falls, Gonjang Monastery, Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, and the Flower Show. After the sightseeing tour, drive to Darjeeling, known as the “Queen of the Hills.” The journey covers approximately 115 km and takes around 4 hours. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy a free evening. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Day 04: Darjeeling Sightseeing

Wake up early in the morning at 4:00 AM and proceed for a mesmerizing sunrise experience at Tiger Hill, where you can witness the magnificent Mt. Kanchenjunga (28,208 ft.), the world’s third-highest peak. On your way back, visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After breakfast, continue your sightseeing tour of Darjeeling.

Explore attractions like the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre (closed on Sundays), Tea Gardens (outer view), Japanese Temple, and Peace Pagoda. The sightseeing tour lasts approximately 4 hours, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Optional: You can also enjoy a Toy Train Joy Ride on this day at an additional cost. Tickets can be booked online through IRCTC (From DJ to DJRZ), and additional charges for cab waiting may apply.

Day 05: Departure from Darjeeling

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and proceed to NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. Your memorable Gangtok and Darjeeling tour concludes here.

Please note that Aadhaar and PAN cards are currently not accepted as valid ID proofs by the Sikkim Government until further notice. The following documents are required for each person:

• 4 photocopies of a valid Voter ID/Driving License/Passport.
• For individuals below 18 years of age, a birth certificate/passport/school or college ID card is required.
• 4 copies of passport-sized photos for each person.

Important Note: Failure to carry the documents mentioned above will result in the cancellation of the Lachung, Changu Lake, and Baba Mandir trips.

We kindly request you ensure that you carry the necessary documents mentioned above to avoid any inconvenience during your tour.

• Point-to-point sightseeing: All sightseeing activities will be conducted as per the mentioned itinerary, ensuring that you visit all the designated attractions.
• Transfer and Sightseeing: The package includes all necessary transfers and sightseeing activities. You will be provided with comfortable transportation throughout your journey.
• Vehicle Type: For groups of 4-7 people (including children), a Xylo/Innova or a similar vehicle will be provided. These vehicles are spacious and suitable for a comfortable journey.
• For groups of 1-3 people (including children), a WagonR or a similar vehicle will be provided. These vehicles are ideal for a small group or individual travelers.
• Meal Plan: The package includes a meal plan of CP (Continental Plan), which includes breakfast only. You will be provided with breakfast at your accommodation.
• Accommodation: You will be accommodated in twin-sharing rooms, ensuring that you share a room with another person in your group. This arrangement offers comfort and convenience during your stay.
• Goods and Service Tax (GST): The package cost does not include any applicable Goods and Service Tax (GST) charges. These charges will be additional and as per government regulations.
• Supplement cost for MAP & AP on request: If you prefer to upgrade your meal plan to MAP (Modified American Plan) or AP (American Plan), additional charges will apply. These charges are not included in the package cost and can be arranged upon request.
• Camera tickets at various places of sightseeing/tour: Any entry fees or camera tickets required at specific attractions during sightseeing or tours are not included in the package cost. Guests will need to purchase these tickets separately, if applicable.
• Personal expenses: Expenses of a personal nature such as telephone calls, fax, internet usage, laundry, and any other similar expenses are not included in the package cost. These expenses will be the responsibility of the guest.
• Monumental entry tickets, etc.: Entry tickets to monuments, museums, or any other specific attractions are not included in the package cost. Guests will need to purchase these tickets separately, if required.
• Airfare/train fare: The package cost does not include the cost of airfare or train tickets to reach the destination. Guests are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the starting point of the tour.
