Classic Philippines: Manila, Boracay & Cebu
Itinerary Details
FIRST-CLASS | PRIVATE-GUIDED: Discover the history and beautiful landscapes of the Philippines on this introductory 9-day vacation. Start in Manila, where you’ll delve into the country’s colonial history and visit nearby Pagsanjan. Then spend a few days on sunny Boracay before exploring Cebu City and the Chocolate Hills of Bohol.
This 9-day Philippines vacation takes you to Manila, Boracay, and Mactan Island for an exploration of the country’s classic sites. It features moderate and first-class accommodations, private tours, and is a great introduction to the nation.
Your journey begins in Manila, the massive capital, which is the most densely populated city in the world. One day, you’ll explore Manila’s fascinating colonial history with a tour of the old town. Start at Rizal Park, dedicated to the national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, who is buried beneath the park’s central monument, continue to the old colonial walled city of Intramuros, and visit Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church, and Casa Manila, which showcase life during Spanish colonial times. The next day, drive two hours to the southwest through provincial towns, rice fields, and coconut plantations to the town of Pagsanjan. There you’ll board a dugout canoe and travel along the river to see the landscape of rising gorges, breakneck river rapids, and the stunning Pagsanjan Waterfall.
Connect back to Manila to continue onward to Boracay, the nation’s resort paradise, where you’ll have two days at a beachfront property to enjoy the sandy pleasures of one of Asia’s premiere beach getaways. Spend your days however you wish, whether snorkelling through the waters or enjoying some leisure time in the many bars and restaurants. After recharging on Boracay, fly to Cebu and connect to nearby Mactan Island, where you’ll stay at a resort on the white sand shores.
Based on Mactan Island, you’ll explore nearby Cebu City, the oldest city in the Philippines. You’ll see Magellan’s Cross, the Basilica Minore del Santo Nino, and Fort San Pedro, the oldest triangular fortress in the country. You’ll end your tour at the Taoist Temple, which offers breathtaking views of Cebu City and Mactan Island. Spend the next day exploring the island of Bohol, where you’ll learn about country life, spot tarsiers in the wild, and see the famous Chocolate Hills, a series of 1,268 cone-shaped hills that turn a dark brown in the dry season.
At the end of your stay, you’ll connect back to Cebu to return home.

Half Day Charms of Old Manila
Take a step back in time as you discover the "Charms of Old Manila". The tour starts with a visit to historic Rizal Park, where the remains of our country's national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, lie within the cornerstone of Rizal Monument. Tour heads on to the old walled city of Intramuros built during the Spanish colonial period. The first stop is Fort Santiago which served as headquarters of the military might of the Spanish, American and Japanese colonizers until its destruction in 1945. Tour then proceeds past the San Agustin Church, the oldest structure in the country which dates back to 1571. The next stop is Casa Manila, a reconstruction 19th century mansion replete with 16th to 19th century furniture and furnishings. The last stop is a visit to the newly-opened "Bahay Tsinoy", a museum of the Chinese in Philippine life.
Private Full Day Pagsanjan Falls
Enjoy a 2-hour drive southeast of Manila passing through quaint provincial towns, rice fields and coconut plantations. Arrive at one of the country's prime attractions: the town of Pagsanjan. Embark on a boat ride in a dug-out canoe up the river, amidst rising gorges and steep canyons covered with lush tropical vegetation. Reach a large waterfall and a highlight will be the thrilling experience of "shooting the rapids" in the rapid descent downstream. Your canoe is expertly steered through swirling waters and tricky passes by highly experienced boatmen. Afterwards return to Manila.
