Over 300 riders turn out for 3 Port Tour

The day before the bicycle ride, covering routes of 50-, 100- and 160-kilometres, had been very windy, the day after was much warmer and humid.

But the weather Saturday offered, at worst, light winds, sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-20s C.

As a result, ride organizers went through a lot less drinking water for participants, despite a similar number of riders, he said.

Sting to Tour North America as a Trio (Not That One)

By Charisma Madarang

Charisma Madarang

Sting announced that he’ll be hitting the road this fall as part of his Sting 3.0 tour with drummer Chris Maas (who previously collaborated with Mumford & Sons and Maggie Rogers) and guitarist Dominic Miller, his longtime collaborator.

While the frontman won’t heading on a reunion tour with his former Police bandmates, Sting 3.0 promises to celebrate “a new dynamic era showcasing selections from his vast catalog through the urgent lens of a tight three-piece combo.”

Members of Sting’s fan club will get first dibs to pre-sale tickets on  sting.com starting Monday, followed by pre-sales for Citi and American Express members throughout the week. General ticket sales will be available Friday at 10 a.m. local time on the website.

Although Police fans may be hoping for another reunion tour, Sting has said that their 2007/08 tour would only happen once. “When the Police reunited, it had been long enough, and it was the right time to do it,” he told Music Week in a 2023 interview. “And I’m taking credit for that because that was my decision. Doing it again would just be gratuitous and that won’t happen. But we did it, and everyone was happy that mum and dad got back together again and had one last fling.”

'Clear eyes, full hearts, Cantlay'

One Memorial Tournament attendee is making it no secret who he's cheering for at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

Joe Bokros of Youngstown arrived in a white polo shirt with the phrase "Clear eyes, full hearts, Cantlay" in honor of the two-time Memorial Tournament winner Patrick Cantlay.

The phrase is a play on a familiar refrain from the NBC television show "Friday Night Lights:" "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose."

But even with the fan following him, Cantlay's day has fallen off, recording a triple bogey after a water penalty and falling into a 10-way tie for ninth place at 4-under.

Patrick Cantlay records water penalty, falls to 10th after triple bogey

Patrick Cantlay took a step back on the sixth hole.

After four pars and a birdie on the fourth hole, Cantlay his the second shot at the sixth hole into the water for a one-shot penalty, finishing with a triple bogey and falling to 10th at 4-under par.

Cantlay is a two-time Memorial champion, winning the tournament in 2019 and 2021.

Austin Eckroat, Si Woo Kim and David Lipsky each share second place at 6-under par, three strokes behind Hideki Matsuyama in first.

Denny McCarthy eagle moves him into top 4 at Memorial Tournament

Denny McCarthy is sticking near the top of the 2023 Memorial leaderboard.

After two bogeys on the front nine, McCarthy has used a birdie and an eagle on the 14th and 15th holes to secure 5-under and a fourth-place position in the third round.

He also recorded an eagle on the seventh hole.

Through two rounds, McCarthy was 1-under par.

Justin Suh continues slide, hits double-bogey on third hole

Justin Suh is sliding out of contention at the 2023 Memorial Tournament.

The leader after two rounds began his day with back-to-back bogeys before recording a double-bogey on the third hole, hitting his second shot into the water for a +1 penalty stroke.

Heading into Saturday, Suh had only two bogeys through two rounds. He is five strokes off the lead and 4-over par in the third round.

Patrick Cantlay surges to second place

Patrick Cantlay, a two-time Memorial winner, is making his move.

The 31-year-old former UCLA golfer recorded a birdie on the fourth hole after four pars to begin his third round. Cantlay is 7-under, two strokes behind Hideki Matsuyama and one stroke ahead of David Lipsky in third.

Cantlay was the betting favorite to win the Memorial heading into the third round according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

Justin Suh bogeys first two holes, falls three holes from lead

Justin Suh has struggled through his first two holes of the third round.

Arriving with a one-stroke lead, Suh bogeyed each of his first two holes — holes he had previously recorded pars at — to fall to 6-under par. Suh is tied for third with Patrick Cantlay

Hideki Matsuyama extends lead at 2023 Memorial

Back-to-back birdies give Hideki Matsuyama a two-stroke lead at the 2023 Memorial, hitting a 31-foot putt at the second hole.

Matsuyama's birdie on Hole 2 was his first on that hole in the tournament, finishing with a par in each of the first two rounds.

Hideki Matsuyama takes the lead at 2023 Memorial

One hole into the third round, Hideki Matsuyama took the lead at the 2023 Memorial Tournament.

Matsuyama recorded a birdie after a 202-yard second hit from the rough, leading to a 3-foot putt to secue his 8-under par. In his first hole, Justin Suh missed a 14-foot putt for par, leading to a 2-foot make for bogey.

Matsuyama won the Memorial in 2014.

David Lipsky birdies into second place at Memorial

David Lipsky is seemingly continuing the momentum he's built from the first two rounds.

After finishing 3-under par on Thursday and Friday, Lipsky began the third round with a birdie, a hole he recorded a par on in each of the first two rounds.

Lipsky now shares second place with Hideki Matsuyama and is one stroke behind Justin Suh for the lead.
