The state of Telangana is to be a newly christened state of India on the 2nd of June 2014. The region was a part of the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh. It contains 10 districts , many of which are important towns of Andhra Pradesh including its very own capital, Hyderabad. The Main Language spoken is Telugu, and the word Telangana itself was meant to distinguish Telugu speaking region from the Marathawada region. The state is rich with historic and cultural heritage and the climate is hot n dry. The place has a majority of historic monuments and temples which were once a part of the State of Andhra Pradesh.

One of the oldest dynasties in India the Sathavahanas were the dominant power here. The rule was followed by the reign of prominent royal dynasties like the Vakataka, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas but the golden age of the Telangana region came under the reign of the Kakatiya dynasty which is attributed for most of the ancient architecture in this State. In the 14th century the city of Hyderabad came under the Delhi sultanate and the Nizams of Hyderabad which led to it becoming a princely State. Why don’t you provide the basic information like distance from Hyderabad, hotels available there, locations etc. Once if you visit the system of Kerala tourism you will know how to attract the tourists. As per my little knowledge, there are many beautiful places in Telangana, but unfortunately either the government or other agencies of the government are not taking interest to develop the tourism. I hope soon this things will change. If really any advice is needed really I will serve for better development of Telangana tourism.

1. Hyderabad

Hyderabad (also known as Bhagya Nagaram) is the fifth largest metropolis of India and the capital of the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, a ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty (the ruling family of the Golconda - previously a feudatory of Bahmani sultanate that declared independence in 1512) founded the city of Hyderabad on the banks of the Musi River in 1591. The Mughal emperor Aurangzeb captured Hyderabad in 1687, but the Mughal-appointed governors of the city soon gained autonomy. In 1724, Asaf Jah I, who was granted the title Nizam-ul-Mulk ('Governor of the country') by the Mughal emperor, defeated a rival official to establish control over Hyderabad. Asaf Jah's successors ruled as the Nizams of Hyderabad. The rule of the seven Nizams saw the growth of Hyderabad both culturally and economically. Hyderabad is the financial and economic capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad is known as the city of pearls, lakes and, lately, for its IT companies.

The name was changed to Mahbubnagar in 1890, in honour of Mir Mahbub Ali Khan Asaf Jah VI, the Nizam of Hyderabad. Mahaboobnagar and the surrounding places witnessed several wars between 14th and 16th centuries. It was a strategic place to control for Chalukyas, Bahmanis, Vijayanagar rulers and Golconda nawabs. Mahaboobnagar is also a land of Samsthanas (princely regions) with Gadwal, Wanaparthy and Kollapur regions successfully controlled for several centuries. The two mighty rivers of South, Krishna and Thungabhadra flow through this region. But Mahaboobnagar district is one of the poorest districts in India and the district witnessed mass migration of people to nearest city of Hyderabad. At a distance of 3 km from Koulas, 81 km from Nizamabad, 84 km from Medak and 169 km from Hyderabad, Koulas Fort is situated near Koulas village in Nizamabad district. Koulas Fort is a massive fort dating back to the 14th century, spread across 6 sq km and located in Jukkal mandal close to Bidar - Nanded road. This fort was built by Kakatiya rulers. At a distance of 22 km from Khammam, 111 km from Nalgonda and 200 km from Hyderabad, Nelakondapalli is an important Buddhist excavation site in Telangana located in Khammam District. Nelakondapalli is a historic Buddhist site with Stupas and Buddha idols. The site was found during the excavations conducted in 1977. Excavations have unearthed foundations of brick built Viharas, wells, cisterns, a Mahastupa, a bronze idol of Buddha, a miniature Stupa carved in limestone and other materials from the third and fourth centuries. Nelakondapalli is associated with the Hindu epic Mahabharata. The Virata Raju Dibba and Keechaka Gundam, archaeological evidences from the period of the Mahabharata are located 1.6 km from Nelakondapalli. At a distance of 22 km from Khammam, 39 km from Suryapet and 174 km from Hyderabad, Kusumanchi is situated in Khammam District of Telangana. Kusumanchi was known as Krupamani in the Kakatiya period. It is home to Sri Ganapeshwaralayam and Mukkanteswaralayam, the two Siva temples built by the Kakatiya rulers during 12th and 13th centuries. These temples stand as testimony to the architectural skills of the Kakatiya kings. The historical shrines have a striking resemblance to famous Ghanpur and Ramappa temples of Kakatiya period in the Warangal district. Ganapeshwaralayam is about 1.7 km from Kusumanchi Bus Stand. JSP chief Pawan Kalyan is eyeing his maiden win in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.

Actor and Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan is leading in the Pithapuram Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh against Vanga Geetha Viswanatham of Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP

Actor and Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan is heading to his maiden election win, with strong leads in the Pithapuram Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh. Contesting against Kalyan is Vanga Geetha Viswanatham of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).

Pawan Kalyan has this time aligned with the BJP and Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP for the Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. As part of a seat-sharing deal among NDA partners, TDP was allocated 144 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha constituencies while BJP contested six Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly seats. Under the deal, Jana Sena contested two Lok Sabha and 21 Assembly seats.

Pawan Kalyan Leads in Pithapuram: Who is He?

Pawan Kalyan, 55, is a renowned Telugu actor and politician in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The actor, who is the brother of Telugu stars Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu, is known for his martial arts and starred in several films, including Gokulamlo Seeta (1997), Suswagatham (1998), Thammudu (1999), Kushi (2001), Balu (2005), Jalsa (2008), Gabbar Singh (2012), Attarintiki Daredi (2013), Gopala Gopala (2015), and Vakeel Saab (2021), to name a few.

He ventured into politics in 2008, spearheading the youth wing of Praja Rajyam Party, called Yuvarajyam. He was named the president of the party started by his brother Chiranjeevi. Kalyan campaigned hard for the party but several health hiccups and otherwise led the party to pump the brakes on Kalyan’s political career. He rose again in 2014 and this time, he started a new political party called the Jana Sena Party (JSP).

Rising from the Defeat

In 2019, Pawan Kalyan contested for the first time and was met with massive disappointment. The JSP chief contested from Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram constituencies but lost in both. Kalyan lost to YSRCP leader T Nagireddy in the Gajuwaka seat by over 16,000 votes. In Bhimavaram, he lost to Grandhi Srinivas of YSRCP by over 8,000 votes.

Pawan Kalyan’s Political Promises:

On April 30, Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party (JSP) released an election manifesto with N Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP), featuring several promises. Both parties promised several facilities for women. These include “free bus travel and monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,500 to women aged 18-59 years.”

They promised three free gas cylinders every year to each household and an unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 per month, among other things in their manifesto. They have also promised to give Rs 15,000 to every school-going student via their ‘Thalliki Vandhanam’ scheme. Given that Pithapuram is an agricultural constituency, the two parties have also come up with several beneficial plans for the farmers.

A sum of Rs 20,000 a year will be given to farmers for financial assistance, nine hours of uninterrupted power supply for farmers, and solar pump sets at free of cost will be provided if the alliance comes to power.
