ABOUT STEVE EARLE:

Steve Earle is one of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters of his generation. A protege of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, he quickly became a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders, and countless others. 1986 saw the release of his record, Guitar Town, which shot to number one on the country charts and is now regarded as a classic of the Americana genre. Earlier this year, Earle’s 1988 hit “Copperhead Road” was made an official state song of Tennessee. Subsequent releases like The Revolution Starts...Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007), and TOWNES (2009) received consecutive GRAMMY® Awards. Earle has published two books and produced albums for other artists. As an actor, Earle has appeared in several films and had recurring roles in the HBO series The Wire and Tremé. In 2017, Earle appeared in the off-Broadway play Samara, for which he also wrote the score which the New York Times described as “exquisitely subliminal.” More recently, Earle wrote the music for and appeared in the off-Broadway play Coal Country, for which he was nominated for a Drama Desk Award. Earle is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. And in 2023, Steve was also honored by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music.

Steve Earle is one of the most acclaimed singer/songwriters of his generation. A protégé of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, he quickly became a master storyteller in his own right, with songs recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders, and countless other artists. Earle’s debut album, Guitar Town, was the one that put him on the map. The eponymous lead single peaked at Number 7 on the Billboard Hot Country chart and the album is regarded as a classic of the American genre. Since then, subsequent releases like The Revolution Starts…Now, Washington Square Serenade, and TOWNES received Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Folk Album. He also has four additional nominations in the same category. Restlessly creative across artistic disciplines, Earle has published a novel and collection of short stories, produced albums for other artists, including Joan Baez and Lucinda Williams, and acted in films, television (including David Simon’s acclaimed The Wire,) and on the stage . In 2009, he appeared in the off-Broadway play Samara, for which he wrote a score that The New York Times described as “Exquisitely subliminal.” Earle also wrote music for and appeared in Coal Country, a Public Theatre play that explored the deadliest mining accident in U.S. history. For that, he was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for his work on the music. He was recently inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Support from

Roseanne Reid

Born in Leith and raised in Edinburgh, as the eldest daughter of the Proclaimers’ Craig Reid, Roseanne was taking her first artistic steps at the age of 12, with early performances at local folk clubs and open mic nights. Now established as one of the most sensitive and original young artists in the roots scene, Roseanne’s music often conveys a hyper-focus on the ever unpredictable nature of life itself…

Last summer, Roseanne and her wife became proud parents of a baby boy. Though most of it was written before he came along, the maturity and confidence in her song craft and delivery is there for all to hear on her latest album, Lawside.
