One of the best resorts we’ve stayed in so far. We took 3d2n package with breakfast, lunch & din provided. Food given large quantity, esp seafood & service was fine. Stayed in Garden Villa chalet. Very clean & comfortable. Housekeeping crew came to clean, very prompt & quick. Clean & nice beach, about 20 paces away from room, as well as clean pool, about 10 paces from room. Surrounding well kept. Resort is, of course, not new but it’s more than adequate to unwind & relax. Came during off-peak season & feels like you have whole resort to yourself! Thank you to staff for memorable holiday.

Booking deposit* (non-refundable) of the full payment should be paid after your booking has been verified by Al Masyhur International Travel & Tours. Al Masyhur International Travel & Tours reserves the right to cancel your booking if you fail to make a full-payment 45 days before travelling dates.

• Upon registration and confirmation of airline ticket request, Traveller must remit full payment for airline ticket according to the dateline as advised by the person-in-charge in AMI Travel.
• For ground and other payments, traveler must remit booking deposit (a 100 % non-refundable) of 30% from the package price (excluding airline ticket) within three (3) days after registration or according to the dateline advised by person- in- charge in AMI. Balance payment must be made thirty (45) days prior to departure date or according to the dateline as advised by the person-in-charge in AMI.
• No changes can be made within 48 days before departure
• If participant wants to come back later or earlier than the expected date of arrival in Malaysia, participant must send an e-mail or letter 45 days before the travelling dates and it is subject to the discretion of Al Masyhur International Travel & Tours. However, Al Masyhur International Travel & Tours reserves the right to reject or accept it.
• If allowed, any additional cost is participant’s responsibilities. Participant also will be charged for admin fee.

Cancellation

• Booking cancellation from the participant should be done through email or letter and must be sent to Al Masyhur International Travel & Tours for avoiding any misunderstanding

• Al Masyhur International Travel & Tours reserves the right to amend the itinerary without prior notice.

• Refund will not be paid immediately and will take more than 2 months.

Pulau Pangkor, or Pangkor Island, is an island that features a much more relaxed, kampung lifestyle while boasting white sandy beaches and lively coral marine life. Even when Pulau Pangkor can be overshadowed by its fellow big named brethren, such as Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Langkawi and also Pulau Tioman, this laid-back beach retreat is not short on activities as well as beauty for those who can see it. Pulau Pangkor is a trip that will be worth your while. Pulau Pangkor is a resort island located in Manjung District, Perak, Malaysia.

Malaysia experience monsoon rain from November until February. However, Pulau Pangkor area suffers not much from the monsoon. Pulau Pangkor lies off Malaysia's west coast and experiences hot and humid weather all year round. The rainy season runs from April through October and the dry season runs from October through April.

A three-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur, Pulau Pangkor is accessible via the Simpang Pulai-Lumut highway and the West Coast Expressway. It's located 2 hours from Ipoh, and half an hour to reach from Lumut Jetty. Touring Pulau Pangkor can be challenging for those who can't ride independently. There are no bridges that link the island to the mainland as there is a strategy for limiting the number of vehicles on the island to avoid road congestion. With winding and narrow roads, it is advisable for you to rent a motorcycle to truly appreciate the blowing of the wind from Pulau Pangkor's beach as you tour this small yet relaxing island.

Pulau Pangkor is well-known as a beach destination with wonderful white sandy beaches. You can find different kinds of water sports on Pulau Pangkor such as diving, snorkelling and island hopping, as well as a hiking trail for the trekkers. At Pulau Pangkor, beachside activities are a must with snorkelling and island hopping as their highlight. Pulau Sembilan, for instance, is a cluster of nine uninhabited islands with several dive sites. The White Rock is the most popular site dive. Please take note that the current can be quite strong here, so be careful. Corals, parrotfish, jacks, barracudas, and hump head wrasses are some of the marine life you can find here. However, diving activities are only available around November until March.

If your legs could handle more, jungle trekking through Pangkor Hill is also highly recommended. The island is home to many rainforest reserves, including the Tortoise Hill, Telur Segadas Hill and the virgin jungle near the Pangkor Laut Resort for the adventurous ones. However, the most popular trekking trail among trekkers in Pulau Pangkor is the island's highest peak, Pangkor Hill. The trail begins from Pasir Bogak and ends near Pangkor beach. So, don't forget to bring along extra clothes to dip into the ocean afterwards.

If you want to take a break from the white sandy beaches, there are also few sights around the island that you can consider including the remnants of an old, Dutch Fort or Kota Belanda right in the heart of Pulau Pangkor. It is the only historical location on the Pulau Pangkor. The Dutch Fort is actually the remains of a building once used by the Dutch as storage of tin supplies hundreds of years ago. The fort is situated only a short distance from beach Pangkor. Pulau Pangkor is everything a beach paradise could hope for. Minus the mass number of tourist and beach parties. A refreshing change from the other famous beach tourist destinations. What is a trip to a beach retreat without having seafood! At Pulau Pangkor, you can expect seafood at its best. With a pretty reasonable price with a view to die for, the seafood here is something you have to try. Tons of seafood restaurants sprawling along the coast, with multiples choices of fresh seafood that will certainly satisfy your seafood craving.

Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Police officer takes teens on a camping trip to give them a ‘safe place’ over Memorial Day weekend

CHICAGO (WBBM) - The prevalence of gun violence during the Memorial Day weekend in Chicago is a concern every year, but a police program is actively working to change that.

City life is always busy and noisy.

“Anywhere in the city, you always hear sirens,” Mikey Malarski said.

That is why Mikey, 17, and more than a dozen other youngsters got a change of scenery over the weekend.

“I’m kind of nervous. I’ve never been, like, very far from the city,” he said.

Snacks and supplies were loaded into a 15-passenger van as Officer Will Martinez with the Chicago Police Department’s 15th district prepared to drive two hours west.

“All the youth that you see around you, they’re actually involved with different programs at the 15th District,” he said.

Joshua Torres, 17, lives in the Austin community.

“I see a lot of things, you know, that’s dangerous. A lot of shootings, a lot of drive-bys. I try my best to stay safe and be in the house so nothing bad will happen to me,” he said.

Joshua started hanging out at the 15th district police station when he was 7 and has been part of the Officer Explorer Program.

Ten years later, he voluntarily chose to hang out with the officers for a Memorial Day camping outing to feel “more safe.”

“It’s more safe,” he said. “I’m not in danger where something bad is going to happen to me if I step out.”

The Memorial Day weekend unofficially kicks off summer, yet in Chicago, it has also proven to be deadly and violent. It is what prompted the 15th district to start the camp outing four years ago.

“As long as they put in the work in building up their community, I wanted to give them a safe place. So we take them from here, uproot them, give them a safe place. It’s a gated camping ground. They can roam around. It’s more fun for them,” Martinez said.

The trip allows the teens to escape the violence and build bonds.

“I don’t see him as a cop. I see him more like a father figure,” Joshua said.

Martinez said they are all part of the community and are building it up together.

Ukraine's use of weapons supplied by its Western allies to hit targets inside Russia would not make NATO and its members part of the conflict, NATO secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg has said.

His comments come after NATO's Parliamentary Assembly called for member states to support Ukraine's "international right" to defend itself by lifting "some restrictions" on Kyiv's use of Western weapons to strike within Russian territory.

The declaration adopted also called for member states to accelerate their deliveries of critical weapons to Ukraine.

Several NATO states, including the UK, have already lifted such restrictions, but not enough Western states have done so to challenge Moscow's ability to freely conduct airstrikes or stage ground operations against Ukraine, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has secured a pledge of additional air defence missiles from Spain to combat around 3,000 bombs he says Russia launches every month at Ukraine.

Yesterday the Ukrainian president said Kyiv still needed another seven US-made Patriot air defence systems to stop Russia hitting the power grid and civilian areas, as well as military targets, with devastating glide bombs.

"If we had these modern Patriot systems, [Russian] airplanes wouldn’t be able to fly close enough to drop the (glide) bombs on the civilian population and the military," Mr Zelenskyy told a news conference in the Spanish capital.

Since the meeting, the Netherlands has pledged to deliver parts of a Patriot air defence system to Ukraine and is talking to other countries in order to assemble a complete system (see 8.39am post).

Mr Zelenskyy and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez signed a bilateral security agreement allocating €1bn (£851m) of military aid to Ukraine this year, and €5bn (£4.3bn) by 2027. The package also features more Leopard tanks and artillery ammunition.

Ukraine's top commander says he has signed paperwork allowing French military instructors to visit Ukrainian training centres soon.

"I am pleased to welcome France's initiative to send instructors to Ukraine to train Ukrainian servicemen," Oleksandr Syrskyi said on Telegram yesterday after talks via video link with French defence minister Sebastien Lecornu.

"I have already signed the documents that will enable the first French instructors to visit our training centres shortly and familiarise themselves with their infrastructure and personnel."

He said he believed France's determination would encourage other partners to join the "ambitious project".

Ukraine's defence ministry posted a "clarification" later on X to say Kyiv had been expressing interest in a project receiving foreign instructors since February. "As of now, we are still in discussions with France and other countries on this issue," it said.

French President Emmanuel Macron had suggested Western troops could help train Ukrainians in Ukraine at a conference in Paris in February.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Belgium's Prime Minister Alexander De Croo have signed a security pact in Brussels.

Mr De Croo said the pact includes the delivery of 30 F-16 fighter jets to Kyiv and at least €977m (£832m) in Belgian military aid to Ukraine this year.

Separately, the Netherlands had pledged to deliver parts of a Patriot air defence system to Ukraine, its defence minister has said.

It is also talking to other countries in order to assemble a complete system, Dutch defence minister Kajsa Ollongren said.

"With our offer, and if other potential partner countries are able to deliver parts and ammunition, we would be able to supply at least one complete system to Ukraine in the short term," she said.

The Russian-held city of Luhansk in eastern Ukraine came under attack twice within three hours early this morning.

Fires appeared to have broken out at the locations of both strikes.

Leonid Pasechnik, the Russian-installed governor of the Luhansk region, said the first attack at around 9pm (6pm UK time) was made with cluster munitions.

Russia's Tass news agency said there had been injuries, quoting emergency services, while Ukrainian media and war bloggers posted a picture of what they described as a large fire in the city. 

A second strike hit the city at midnight, according to a Russian foreign ministry official, apparently in the same general area.

Rodion Miroshnik, a special ambassador for the ministry, said local residents had heard two explosions in the same district as the site of the first attack. 

"It cannot be ruled out that the repeat strike occurred at the site where rescue teams are dealing with the aftermath of the previous missile attack," Mr Miroshnik wrote on Telegram. 

Ukrainian news outlets said the target of the second strike was an airfield and posted a video of a fire spreading over a wide area.

Ukraine's military has launched at least three attacks on Luhansk and nearby areas in recent weeks, targeting mainly fuel storage depots.

Russia says it has captured two villages in eastern Ukraine.

Moscow's defence ministry said it had taken the settlements of Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region and Netailove in Donetsk.

The Ukrainian military's general staff said on Sunday that its forces had repelled an attack near Ivanivka, east of the town of Kupiansk.

In a report on Monday evening it said Ukrainian forces had seen off seven Russian advances in the Kupiansk sector.

Russian forces had recorded "partial success" in one of the areas of the Kupiansk sector, it added, and Ukrainian forces were "taking measures to stabilise the situation and prevent the enemy from advancing".

Conflicting claims on the second front

Kharkiv remains a major focus after Russia opened a new front on the northeastern border. 

It has been the subject of conflicting reports, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy saying Ukraine had secured "combat control", while the Russian ministry of defence claimed its forces were advancing.

The British defence ministry said Russian gains in the northeast had not been joined up, allowing Ukraine to contain Moscow's momentum.

It assessed Vladimir Putin's attempt to create a buffer zone between Ukraine and Russia had been unsuccessful thus far and further gains were unlikely in the coming week.

But this will be little comfort to those living under the constant threat of Russian shells in the region.

An attack on a DIY store in Kharkiv city this weekend killed at least 16 people, injured more than 40, and the search is still on for others.

A 12-year-old girl was among the dead.

The US announced a new $275m package of weapons and equipment for Ukraine to help it repel Russia's assault in the Kharkiv region.

Ukrainian troops have been forced to train without firing ammunition due to shortages. 

Analysis shared with Sky News revealed the scale of the challenge facing Kyiv, with Russia producing artillery shells around three times faster than Ukraine's Western allies and for about a quarter of the cost. 

Across the year, that means Russian factories are forecast to manufacture 3.2 million more shells than European nations and the US combined.

Peace summit

Mr Zelenskyy directly called on his US and Chinese counterparts to join his latest summit for peace in Ukraine. 

Speaking from Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine on Friday, he announced a "global peace summit", co-hosted by Switzerland, starting on 15 June. He claimed 80 countries had already confirmed their attendance.

Putin's 'freeze'

Vladimir Putin is ready to halt the war in Ukraine with a ceasefire that recognises current battlefield lines, four Russian sources told the Reuters news agency. 

The narrative is widely viewed as a strategy to consolidate Ukrainian land under Russian control, with little or no guarantees Mr Putin wouldn't use it to launch another attack on what remains of Ukraine. Russian propogandists have previously advocated reducing Ukraine to the size of the Lviv region in the west.

Nuclear drills

Russia's defence ministry said it had begun a round of drills involving tactical nuclear weapons in response to remarks by senior Western officials about the possibility of deeper involvement in the war. 

According to the ministry's statement, the first stage of the new drills included nuclear-capable Kinzhal and Iskander missiles in southern Russian regions.

Ukraine claimed to have destroyed the last Russian warship armed with cruise missiles that was stationed on the occupied peninsula. It said a long-range attack destroyed the Russian minesweeping navy vessel Tsiklon in Sevastopol.

Vladimir Putin has arrived in Uzbekistan ahead of formal talks on Monday.

The Russian president laid a wreath at a monument to Uzbekistan's independence in the capital, Tashkent.

He is expected to hold formal talks with President Shavkay Mirziyoyev that are expected to focus on deepening the countries' relations.

The pair spoke in what were described by the Kremlin as informal talks on Sunday.

The visit is President Putin's third foreign trip since being inaugurated for a fifth term in May. 

He first went to China , where he expressed appreciation for China's proposals for talks to end the Ukraine conflict, and later to Belarus. 

For context: Now separated from Russia by Kazakhstan in central Asia, Uzbekistan was once part of the Soviet Union.

However, the invasion of Ukraine is believed to have accelerated a process of reducing Russian influence in the country.

In the two-plus years since February 2022, Uzbekistan has also boosted its relations with the EU. 

Fighting continues along the Kharkiv frontline as Russian forces try to overwhelm defenders.

In an update on Sunday evening, Ukraine's armed forces said its troops were seeking to repel attacks and in places have mounted offensives.

The General Staff said on social media: "The Russian aggressor is trying to use superiority in manpower and equipment and air support. 

"Ukrainian soldiers are giving battle to the enemy, and in some directions they themselves are carrying out effective assault actions to improve the stability of the defence and restore positions."

Twelve clashes were reported in the direction of Kharkiv, the update said, as well as near the villages of Lyptsi and Ternova.

"The situation is under control," the statement said.
