Outermost Adventures Great White Shark Tours

Come join Outermost Harbor for one of our truly unforgettable White Shark Tours. We had a 100% success rate in 2022! We have our two charter boats available to provide the best Great White Shark tour available. Our marina location is 5 min from the sharking grounds! Our location for departure means more time with the sharks. Seeing, and spending time, with these amazing apex predators will almost feel surreal. They fully know they are at the top of the food chain and will allow us to glide along side them without hesitation.  Guided by an experienced spotter plane above, finding and spending time with our local resident Great White Sharks has never been better. Visitors and locals alike can participate in ‘Citizens Science’ as they add white shark sightings to the Sharktivity App , and record observations to be shared with the white shark research team. Our guest experience is truly cannot be beat.

The trips are 2.5 hours and will focus on the ecology, shifting sands/marine landscape of Monomoy, and interaction between the seal colonies and the sharks that occur on our doorstep. Peak season is July-Oct for these trips. Like any free-swimming marine creature, shark sightings are not guaranteed but we have seen them, with cooperative weather conditions, nearly every trip out. Please contact us for availability and pricing for this unique and immersive shark experience. Truly bucket-list material!

Guadalupe Great White Sharks

Guadalupe Island in Mexico is the top destination for great white shark encounters. This small volcanic island, located in the Pacific 240 kilometres (150 miles) off the west coast of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, outperforms both South Africa and Australia with shark-seeing consistency and conditions.

Only Guadalupe Island can boast shark viewing in beautiful clear blue water with 100 – 150 foot visibility. We have identified 366 unique great white sharks in the bay where we stage our submersible shark cage diving operations, which guarantees unforgettable encounters .

Diving With Great Whites

We offer a rich and natural shark encounter experience on these trips by descending down to 30 feet where great white sharks naturally spend their time. We don’t need to use chum at depth; the sharks are already there. We have seen up to nine great whites at once circling the cages.

Without chum these great whites are more relaxed, exhibit much more curiosity, and come in much closer to the cages. It is an unforgettable rush when a great white looks at you from 50 feet away and then swims over for a closer look. We see great whites on three out of four dives.

Discover 10 great white shark facts.

“This is my 9th trip to Guadalupe Island and it has been, by far, the best I’ve seen. Great white sharks on every dive and most dives had multiple sharks. It is hard to beat being in the cage with 4-5 great whites circling the cage. This has got to be one of the most exciting experiences you can have.”

Is shark cage diving at Guadalupe Island Safe ?

Yes! For your  safety , all diving is done using a hookah system – otherwise known as surface supplied air – and our custom designed cages. These cages are designed to provide maximum protection for you  and  for our sharks. It is vitally important that the sharks are never affected or injured during their interaction with us.

Mexican park regulations require that you stay within the cages at all times, including keeping your arms, hands and cameras inside. Please do not pollute the beautiful clear blue waters of Guadalupe with suntan lotion or any other contaminants.

You will be accompanied by one of our  divemasters  on all dives for your safety and to increase your chances of shark sightings. You should be ready and dressed in your wetsuit 10 minutes before your scheduled cage time. We recommend DUI weight harnesses and approximately 40 lbs of lead depending on your weight and type of wetsuit. Please see any of our divemasters for assistance. Note that a 5 – 7 mm wetsuit is usually adequate to keep you warm but we do have hoods, hooded vests and extra gloves available for loan if needed.

For your additional safety, each cage is equipped with backup sets of scuba gear for each diver in the exceptionally unlikely event of a problem with the hookah system. The cages are normally entered and exited through an upper hatch but there is also an emergency escape hatch, painted red, if needed. This hatch must remain closed during normal operations.

  • The Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary protects the wildlife and habitats of one of the most diverse and bountiful marine environments in the world.
  • White sharks depend on the rich sanctuary ecosystem and as apex predators, play a key role in maintaining a balanced ecosystem.
  • White sharks are considered internationally threatened and they need protection.
  • Common myths have vilified white sharks. Debunk the myth - we are more of a threat to them then they are to us.

To the north of The Farallones is another National Marine Sanctuary, the underwater island or seamount, Cordell Bank . Directly south of The Farallones lies the Monterey National Marine Sanctuary , a massive underwater canyon with an abundance of diverse species.

great white tours

Imagine yourself viewing these beautiful and mysterious creatures in their natural habitat, riding alongside them as they glide through the waters of Cape Cod.

Join us aboard fishing vessel Cape Star with Captain Cullen Lundholm and you will be able to view Cape Cod White Sharks on a private guided tour, observing the sharks in their natural habitat, capturing pictures, videos, and making memories that will last a lifetime.  Come join us for a Cape Cod Great White Shark tour this summer and see for yourself how magnificent and enormous these giants truly are!

The waters of the outer beaches of Cape Cod offer some of the best possible viewing experiences for Great White Sharks around the globe.  The shallow, clear, cold water coupled with white sandy bottoms offers a viewing experience that is second to none.

We use a spotter pilot flying overhead to direct us to the Cape Cod White Sharks, so you can expect to have an excellent viewing experience.  We typically spot multiple Great White Sharks on each trip and come within a couple meters or less for excellent visibility.

See for yourself.

See what's in store for you on your private guided cape cod great white shark tour in this video shot summer 2019..

Watch as we head out to the back side of Cape Cod in search of Great White Sharks. Beautiful weather, excellent visibility, and a few nice sharks made for a very exciting afternoon.

About Your Trip

Once leaving the dock, we will run across one of Cape Cod’s inner waterways. Occasionally, we will be able to spot sharks inside of the bays, although the vast majority of the Cape Cod Great White Shark viewing will take place on the outer beaches of Cape Cod. The waters in which we view the sharks will vary in depths from 4 to 15 ft.  The underwater white sandbar tidal flats give us a beautiful viewing point for these sharks.

The Cape Cod White Sharks that we view vary in size from smaller sharks in the range of 8-10 feet to much larger sharks pushing 20 feet long.

Our Cape Cod Great White Shark tours are an excellent way to view not only the Great White Sharks, but also the diverse aquatic ecosystem of Cape Cod.  On your trip you will likely see many ocean dwelling birds, feeding fish, seals, and other wildlife in addition to the pinnacle of the trip: the North Atlantic Great White Shark.

Great White Sharks are a protected species and we treat them as such.  We are viewing them in their natural habitat and do so in a way that we do not disturb them. We often times get close to the sharks without interrupting them, but if a shark’s behavior shows any sign that it feels threatened or uneasy, we will back off and search for another shark.

So far, we have had an excellent success rate, but if for some reason no sharks are viewed during your trip you will receive a 50% discount off the cost of your tour.

Please note, all tours are subject to weather conditions.

Great White Shark Diving is what we are all about! The wonder and excitement of being in the water with these amazing creatures is indescribable.

Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions gives you much more dive time – more time to immerse yourself in the underwater world of the Great White Shark.  Each dive schedule is planned on a daily basis, taking into account weather conditions and the type of diving experiences our guests have signed up for. If you’re a Surface Cage novice (as most guests are) there’s no rushing or cajoling – just encouragement and care. This is an experience of a lifetime – we want you to enjoy it!

We are the only tour operator that has Qualified Dive Professionals to help you through every aspect of your dive, including accompanying SCUBA divers in the Ocean Floor Cage.

Surface Cage – No Dive Qualifications Needed

The surface cage holds four divers comfortably. You enter the steady, super-strong cage from the dive deck, and you are completely safe at all times. Then the fun, excitement and pure adrenalin rush of the Great White Shark experience comes to life. These magnificent animals are mesmerising and majestic, effortlessly gliding around and below the cage. Surface Cage diving is available on all our tours, and suitable for anyone above the age of 8.

Ocean Floor Cage – SCUBA Certification Required

Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions is the ONLY TOUR IN THE WORLD that has Ocean Floor Cage Diving. Anchored off the Neptune Islands, up to three guests with a Dive Professional descend approximately 20 metres (66ft) into a world that will captivate and spell-bind – a blue aquarium of rocky outcrops teeming with reef fish, white sand and swaying sea-grasses, iconic Giant Blue Groupers, elegant stingrays and a watchful assortment of fish. And, of course, the Great White that appears out of the blue and sweeps gracefully towards, over and around the cage. It is amazing! To experience this awesome spectacle, a SCUBA diver must have PADI Open Water (or equivalent) certification.

Farallons

Favorite winter water playground of Great Whites

The Farallones

The Farallon Islands within the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary are home to some of the world’s largest great white sharks. These islands (Southeast Farallon and Maintop Island) off the coast of San Francisco are the winter water playground of adult great white sharks measuring 15 to 20 feet long. (4.5 meters to 6.1 meters). The sharks come to the Farallones to dine on the local population of Northern Elephant Seals.

Day trips depart by 9 am  from Marina Bay Yacht Harbor (Richmond Marina) in San Francisco’s East Bay region and are generally 12 hours in duration. The price includes lunch and dinner on the boat. On the way to the Farallones, participants learn about the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, the Farallon Islands, white sharks and other local wildlife, from a trained naturalist.

The 65 ft Derek M Baylis, a custom-built offshore research and education vessel, can comfortably accommodate 12 cage divers and 4 topside observers.

Sharks Spotted : Adult Great White Sharks

Viewing Season : The official season is from September 15th until November 30th.  We operate on select dates during the middle of this peak time.

Featured 2024 Day Trip Dates

September 29 | October  26, 27  | November 2, 3, 9, 10, 16

Cost : $925 for cage divers / $675 for topside observers.

Private charters for up to 16 cage divers are available. Call for pricing.

Participant Requirements : No dive experience required. Participants should be in reasonably good health and comfortable in the water. Minimum age requirement may apply for cage divers (typically age 16).

Trip Notes : Trips are conducted according to the terms of an educational permit (GFNMS-2015-011-A5)  issued to Incredible Adventures by the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary.  A floating shark cage and surface-supplied air is used. Shark divers are supplied with a wetsuit, hood, boots and gloves. All participants are strongly advised to purchase dive insurance and must sign a release of liability. There is no shark guarantee. If you do not see sharks, there is no refund. We’ll take you to the best spots and do everything we can to insure sightings, but we cannot control nature.

San Francisco’s Farallon Islands

The Farallon Islands are part of the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary.

Sanctuary regulations enacted in 2009 prohibit the attraction of white sharks without a permit from NOAA. In 2009, Incredible Adventures was granted a permit to actively attract white sharks by using a mammal-shaped decoy. Incredible Adventures does not chum for white sharks or interfere in a white shark’s natural behavior in any way.

Viewing these giant creatures is a sight unlike any other. The Farallon Islands are a brutal place, where the seas can be rough and the weather miserable. That’s part of what makes viewing great white sharks off the coast of San Francisco an incredible adventure!

Peak shark sighting season at the Farallones is from late September through mid-November. Call 800-644-7382 to book your great white shark expedition today.

More Details

Farallons great white shark adventures are offered under the guidelines of a permit by the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary. (GFNMS-2015-011-A5) The permit authorizes Incredible Adventures to use decoys to actively attract white sharks near its boat and shark cage. The decoys must be constructed of a soft material and shaped like a marine mammal native to the area.

If you plan to spend the day topside, remember to dress warmly. We recommend dressing yourself in layers, because it can be warm and sunny one minute and cold and foggy the next. We have some cameras and binoculars on the boat, but you may wish to bring your own.

Great White Shark Combo Tour

Sharks, whales, dolphins and more.

As the marine ecosystem in Monterey Bay has improved, there has been a population explosion of great white sharks.

This three to four-hour tour is your opportunity to see some of the most exciting wildlife in the bay up close and personal from the comfort and safety of the boat Our vessel provides easier spotting from an elevated viewpoint rather than a boat closer to the water. Naturalists on board educate you on these fascinating apex predators  as we head toward the wreck of the S.S. Palo Alto, also known as the cement ship, located near Aptos in Santa Cruz County. This sunken ship provides sharks plenty of food since it has become an artificial reef full of easy prey.

The home of one of California’s newest and most active populations of great white sharks, this rookery is a breeding ground where you may spot both juveniles and adults up to 20 feet long! Along the way, you may still get to see the many humpback whales and dolphins in our path.

What You’ll See : Very large great white sharks – if you’re lucky.

Tip : The best way to spot a shark is to wear polarized sunglasses and scan the horizon looking for dark shadows and dorsal tips protruding from the water. Shadows may look like kelp that is moving and not staying in one spot.

The Visitor Center will open on March 8th, but the Refuge and Museum are open daily from sunrise to sunset!

Let our staff and volunteers at the Visitor Center help you plan your visit! The Visitor Center is located at the Refuge headquarters and is a great starting point for you to become more familiar with the Refuge and the wildlife that live here. Visitors can obtain Refuge brochures and maps, see the most recent bird sightings and about birding “hot spots”, browse nature and wildlife interpretive panels and exhibits, and learn more about other recreational opportunities such as wildlife watching, photography, the auto tour route, trails, fishing, and hunting.

While at Refuge headquarters, visit the Nature Store for field guides, t-shirts, and other educational items, and the Museum that houses interpretive exhibits with nearly 200 mounted wildlife specimens. The great variety of trees and shrubs at the Refuge headquarters attracts many birds, making it one of the best places in Oregon to see migrating songbirds. Marshall Pond is an excellent spot to see wildlife. Take a short hike and view Malheur Lake from the overlook just above the headquarters.

If the Visitor Center and Nature Store are closed, still plan a visit to Refuge headquarters. Brochures are available at the Visitor Center outdoor brochure box and browse the outdoor interpretive panels and Museum exhibits.

The Refuge and Museum are open daily from sunrise to sunset.

Malheur National Wildlife Refuge is located in southeastern Oregon’s high desert, at the northern end of the Great Basin. It is adjacent to Steens Mountain, from which the Wild and Scenic Donner und Blitzen River flow into the Refuge’s southern boundary. Malheur National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1908 to protect migratory waterfowl, with an emphasis on colonial nesting species. Today, the Refuge encompasses over 187,000 acres that are disproportionately important as a stop along the Pacific Flyway, and as a resting, breeding, and nesting area for hundreds of thousands of migratory birds and other wildlife. Many of the species migrating through or breeding at Malheur are highlighted as priority species in national bird conservation plans.

Get Involved

Whether you want to further conservation, learn more about nature, or share your love of the outdoors, you’ve come to the right place. National wildlife refuges provide many opportunities for you to help your community by doing what you love. National wildlife refuges partner with volunteers, youth groups, landowners, neighbors, and residents of urban and coastal communities to make a lasting difference. Find out how you can help make American lands healthier and communities stronger while doing something personally satisfying.

While mulch is one of the more traditional curb appeal materials for landscaping that adds appeal when paired with flowers, stone and rock are just as appealing if not more. We love decorating front yards with these natural materials since they come in a variety of soft colors and have a rustic charm with a sophisticated touch. But, if you have a hard time deciding which material to use in your front yard landscaping , you can't go wrong with mixing all three.

Still needing some inspiration for your new exterior design ? Here are 21 front yard landscaping ideas with rocks, stone, and mulch to get you started.

There’s something comforting and elegant about the mix of light shades in the front yard of our 2022 Whole Home in Atlanta . The gray two-tone stone of the house combined with the white stone porch, side flower beds, steps, and pavers gives it a modern appeal that’s soft and stunning.

Have extra space behind the pool house or next to the garage? Take a cue from this Michael Ellison project on Nantucket, and build out a sitting area with a fire pit and lounge chairs. The pebbles and pavers cut distinct zones into the yard.

On top of the nice contrast mulch brings your yard and home, the landscaping favorite is beneficial for flower gardens. Mulch helps to suppress weeds and retain moisture, which means less watering on your part. You can use mulch to carve out a small flower bed along a curve in a sidewalk or driveway. We love how the plantings designer Juan Carretero has at his Victorian-style home in Catskill, New York, are bordered by light-colored stone pavers.

Use Complementary Colors

To create an outdoor conversation area at this L.A. home, Jeremiah Brent looked to a simple landscaping idea with stones. A simple stone paver patio sheltered by arbors covered in greenery and wired with lanterns looks clean and romantic. The white upholstery complements the light stone for an earthy, cohesive design.

Combine Rocks and Mulch

dutch colonial house

If your home doesn’t have room for a full-on garden, make a mini one in the front yard by combining rocks and mulch in a flower bed. The mulch acts as a nice base for the flowers and shrubs, while the border of rocks adds interest and natural beauty to the design.

Blend Into Nature

Highlight the natural beauty of your yard by surrounding a stone paver patio with a dense privacy hedge, as designer Katie Hodges did at her own Hollywood Hills home. The earthy hues mix to create a serene atmosphere, making you want to stay outside all day (just don’t forget to add in a nice set of outdoor furniture).

Design a Labyrinth

a garden with a chair and plants

To bring whimsy and fun into your enchanted garden, use rocks and landscaping stone to build in a design. The stones can act as a walkway (or even a labyrinth for meditation) while the rocks serve as your landscaping base, or you can use the materials as a border for areas in your flower beds.

Highlight Your Greenery

modern and well kept front garden with exceptionally beautiful planting

Make your front yard landscaping rocks pop by planting dark green plants in the flower bed. A high-contrast design like this one automatically draws attention to your front yard and is pleasing to the eye, especially if your home’s exterior is a lighter color.

Set It in Brick

a white house with green shutters

To renovate the facade of his home, Edgewood Hall, designer Eddie Ross used reclaimed brick to rebuild the stairs and edge the wide front flower beds. Wider stone pavers designate the front walk.

Stamp a Pattern

Designer Javier Burkle loves to entertain at his Dallas home, and because it’s tiny, his parties often happen outside. This unique landscaping idea with stone gives his patio a crisp, graphic look. We love how the pavers coordinate with the white stone privacy fence, which makes his get-togethers seem even more exclusive.

Extend an Entryway

For rustic curb appeal, try a front yard landscape idea with stone along the porch, flower beds, and walkway, as Victoria Hagan did here. The larger stones form a seat wall that divides the flower beds and offers guests a spot to linger as they come and go. The natural materials look charming together, especially set against this home's stained board-and-batten exterior.

Lay a Foundation

new home

Sometimes mulch requires lots of maintenance even though it creates a beautiful flower bed. On the contrary, rock flower beds reduce the maintenance needs without sacrificing appeal. This material fills your garden area with texture and durability since the rocks prevent erosion and can withstand heavy foot traffic. Plus, our favorite quality is the accentuation of natural beauty.

Outline Flower Beds

flower garden

You take the time to fill your flower beds with colors that pop, so enhance the contrast even more by outlining your flower beds with a loose stone border. It separates the mulch from the grass and adds contrast. For a fun touch, sprinkle larger rocks among your flowers—and don’t forget a stone rabbit statuary.

Edge a Pond

a pond with lily pads and flowers

Does your yard have a lily pond or small watering hole? Accentuate the feature with a stone edge. The material will help define the pond’s shape and enhance its natural beauty.

Widen a Front Walk

a house with a stone patio

If you’re looking for ways to add charm to the front of your home, opting for stone pavers for your sidewalk will do the trick. Stone creates a pleasing backdrop full of drama and elegance that ties the area together when paired with front porch planters, a bright painted front door, and greenery.

Elevate a Porch

a white house with trees in the front

If your home is slightly raised, like photographer Victoria Pearson’s home in Ojai, California, the front yard will benefit greatly from the texture of stone along the front porch to fill in the extra height. This creates a seamless design and elevates the look of the exterior.

Add Some Art

a small patio with chairs and a small house with a red roof

At designer Amanda Reynal’s cottage in the Catskills, the stone patio gets a fun accent from smaller inlaid rocks that create a radiating pattern. We love how the natural colors cohere with the garden wall behind the flower beds.

Frame a Fire Pit

house

A natural stone seat wall and pavers create an outdoor room amid the expansive tiered lawn of home on Lake Michigan. Mariani Landscape ’s Sara Furlan included a fire pit built out of the same material. The surrounding plant beds also feature border walls in the same stone for a cohesive look.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Prove They’re Still Pros When It Comes to Royal Tours

Image may contain Prince Harry Duke of Sussex Meghan Duchess of Sussex Clothing Footwear Shoe Hat and Accessories

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are back in “royal” tour mode —but this time, on their own terms. The couple touched down in Nigeria this week for a 72-hour visit, and their wardrobe choices thus far have spoken volumes. Exhibit A: Meghan’s virtually backless dress for a trip to the Jewels Leading Lights Academy in Abuja on Friday that felt much more American Riviera Orchard than House of Windsor; the blush silk design is, in fact, from a 2018 collection by Heidi Merrick, a go-to label for the Duchess in recent months. (The California lifestyle brand is also responsible for her sundress at the polo in Miami .) Paired with vintage Lanvin earrings and her other jewelry signatures (namely, Cartier’s Tank watch and Love bracelet), the look felt simultaneously polished and relaxed.

Image may contain Clothing Footwear Shoe Adult Person Wedding Accessories Bag Handbag Jewelry and Necklace

In a Heidi Merrick dress for the couple’s first outing in Abuja.

For their second engagement on Friday, on the other hand, Harry and Meghan made it clear that, while they may no longer be senior “working” royals, they haven’t forgotten the etiquette drilled into them when dispatched to Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand by the late Queen in the wake of their 2018 wedding. Although it’s traditionally left to female members of the royal family to pay tribute to their host country, the Sussexes delivered a fashion double act: the Duchess slipped into a snow-white Altuzarra suit (first worn in Sydney during her pregnancy with Archie), while the Duke appeared in teal-green tailoring, comprising a joint nod to the colors of the Nigerian flag.

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

And first thing on Saturday morning? The couple was back at work once again, with Meghan selecting Johanna Ortiz’s Tropicana Nights dress to watch her husband play a game of volleyball, having previously turned to the Colombian designer for the Ms Foundation Women of Vision Awards . Ever the California girl, the Duchess has long incorporated palm leaves into her wardrobe, from diamond Luna Skye studs to the La Ligne dress she wore to announce her second pregnancy, making this particular look both sentimental and stylish. In other words, classic Meghan.
