Description
Virtua Tennis: World Tour is a tennis game where players can compete as one of several professionals or create their own avatar. It features a number of gameplay modes such as quick matches and the career based World Tour. In many modes, players can choose from a series of tennis pros that include Roger Federer, Tim Henman, Sebastian Grosjean, Nicole Vaidisova, Maria Sharpova, Venus Williams, and more. Players can also unlock new rackets and clothes for their custom character as they win matches.

In the PSP entry of SEGA's arcade tennis series, you can play tournaments against professional players, practice in exhibition matches and participate in a world tour where you can create and fully customize your own star. All popular moves are available (topspin, lob, slice, smash, serve, drop shot and aftertouch) and there are different surfaces that influence how the ball bounces and its speed. There is also a function to command the computer-controlled partner in doubles matches.
In the world tour, you build a house on the world map and then travel around the globe to different events to build up your reputation. The important events are stored in the the tour calendar. You can buy new gear, purchase partner contracts and stage contracts, and improve your skills. Training is done through mini games where specific skills are tested and improved. These fun games with tanks, pins, aliens and discs, train specific abilities such as footwork, strokes, volleys and serves.
Next to the training games, there are also ball games such as Blockbuster, Fruit Dash, Blocker and Balloon Smash where you use your tennis skills in different environments. There are fourteen licensed tennis stars to choose from (seven women and seven men). Single mixed matches are not possible, but mixed doubles matches are available. In the multiplayer mode, four players can play simultaneously through Wi-Fi (Ad Hoc).

Virtua Tennis: World Tour was first released on 1 September 2005 in Europe with a North American release following shortly afterwards on 6 October.It was later released in Japan on 26 January 2006 under the title Power Smash: New Generation. The game features 14 real-life professional tennis players, four court surfaces (with multiple arenas of each surface) and multiple game modes.
Other games seem to be able to save. Its a common bug, particularly in early PSP games. usually filling the card so it has less than 4gb free will allow the game to work. You might need to get free space below 2gb. I have the 1000, running 6.61 PRO-C, and I have Virtua Tennis: World Tour ISO running from the Memory Stick.

Description. Virtua Tennis: World Tour is the PSP incarnation of Sega's Virtua Tennis series. You can play as one of many professional tennis players, such as Roger Federer or Maria Sharapova, on courts around the world. In addition to Exhibition and Tournament modes, you can create a custom player and play through World Tour mode.
World Tour - Train and compete to become world #1! Ball Games - Try to beat the high scores. Options - Configure your game settings. Records - View your high scores. Multiplayer - Create or join a game with friends. The main portion of the game is in the World Tour mode however you can visit.
Select a male or female player from 16 featured or custom World Tour players - use the Analog Stick C/VZ/X to highlight a player and press the S button to select it. Note: To use a Custom Player created and trained in World Tour mode, select the World Tour option to the right of the Selection screen. 3. Begin your match:
World Tour. This is the main 1-player mode of Virtua Tennis: World Tour. In this mode, the players create one male and one female character for use in all tournaments in the game to become the No. #1-ranked player in the world. In between tournaments, skill levels may be raised by competing in a variety of quick minigames.

Try dropping your available space to under 2GB. Some earlier PSP games have that issue where they'll be unable to save if you have too much space.

I have all those games, and prefer VT3. Don't like VT4 at all. VT3 and VTWT are both really good though. VT3 is more realistic looking, VTWT looks more arcadey and is a bit more challenging (vs the CPU player). Love them both on the PSP. Reply. Award.
