Destination Must-Sees

Canada ms1

Explore Labrador, a place where time stands still, nature remains untouched by modernism and the people welcome you whole-heartedly. The newest of Canada’s 10 provinces, it is large in size but has a small population in comparison. Labrador features some of the oldest rocks in the world that tell the remarkable story of earth’s evolution. Just off its coast, the meeting of its cool current and the warm Gulf Stream creates a home for an abundance of marine life and seabirds.

Canada ms2

Newfoundland Icebergs:

See Iceberg Alley, one of the best places in the world to see these colossal floating 10,000-year-old glacial blocks in many shapes, colors and sizes. On a sunny day, you can see these glaciers from many points along the northern and eastern coasts by boat tour, sea kayak or by hiking along the coast. The best time of year to view them is in late May and early June.

Canada ms3

Take in Canada's diverse, captivating scenery! From mountain ranges and glaciers to pastoral land and coastal natural wonders, Canada is simply brimming with wildlife and adventures for every age and activity level. Photographers who visit the region are never disappointed and always leave with truly incredible photos. With its abundance of colors and diverse landscapes, Canada deserves a top spot on every nature lover’s bucket list.

Canada ms4

You're in for a treat! The foods of Canada offer your palate a variety of spices and flavors. The cuisine is influenced by local sources, the traditions of the Indigenous people, and a diverse population. Each region has its own specialty, like the seafood of Atlantic Canada, Vancouver’s fantastic Asian restaurants, the meat produced by Alberta’s sprawling ranches and the wine from British Columbia.

Destination Must-Dos

Canada md2

Icefields Parkway:

Winding along the Continental Divide, the Icefields Parkway is one of Canada’s national treasures and a favorite destination for many. It will take you past waterfalls, rushing rivers, glacial peaks, imposing cliffs and snowcapped mountains. Be sure you bring your camera. You’ll want to take lots of pictures to capture the incredible sights to share with family and friends back home. This is a journey through natural history and captivating landscapes that will change you forever. You will revisit this close encounter with nature’s grandeur over and over again in your dreams as long as you live.

Trains (VIA Rail):

Aboard VIA Rail’s The Canadian, admire the majestic beauty of the Rockies and experience train travel like it used to be in your private cabin. Listen to the peaceful sounds of the train while natural beauty dances to life before your eyes in a scenic wonderland; it’s a veritable journey back in time as you travel from Vancouver to Jasper. Enjoy first-class meals and awe-inspiring vistas during the day. Spend the night in the comfort of your private sleeping room that includes a private washroom. From the moment you board The Canadian, you’ll embrace the nostalgia of a golden era; rail lines trace history while whisking travelers through scenery far removed from the highway.

Canada md3

Niagara Falls:

Behold Niagara Falls, an incredible natural wonder where a staggering four to six million cubic feet of water flows over the falls every minute. Straddling the international border of Canada and New York State are the three waterfalls known as Niagara Falls. They’re called Bridal Veil, Horseshoe and American and have a vertical drop of over 165 feet. Providing hydro-electric power and majestic beauty, the Falls are best viewed from one of the many cruise boats operating on the river below, or from the new zip line that borders the Falls. Also, if given the chance, go see the falls at night. They are lit up and look incredible in the night sky. You may even see fireworks.

Canada md4 Frontenac Castle

Old Québec City:

Take a trip back in time and explore Old Québec, North America’s only walled city north of Mexico. Here you’ll find colonial architecture, unique shops and restaurants, and plenty of old-world European charm. Visit the Place Royal where Samuel de Champlain built what became the first permanent French settlement in North America. See the neoclassical façade and stained glass of the oldest church in Canada, the Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral. Explore the antique shops, cafés, and art galleries of the Old Port and stroll along the St. Lawrence River. Visit Parliament Hill, see the iconic Château Frontenac, and discover over 400 years of history in this cultural heart of Québec City.

Expert Advice

diana

One of the best parts of traveling is coming back home with souvenirs that really reflect the place you’ve just been. In the Canadian Rockies, native handcrafts such as wood carvings and artwork by aboriginals are very popular. Look for jewelry made from Canadian materials such as ammonite (a rare fossil that produces a precious gem stone) and jade in British Columbia.

Canada e2

Please be sure to pack a warm sweater and jacket as well as gloves and a hat, as temperatures at higher elevations can change very quickly. Summer temperatures can also vary greatly when in the mountains. It is suggested that you bring a pair of sunglasses, especially while visiting the Icefields — it can be very bright.

Recently returned from the great....

Recently returned from the great Indian rail journey. My wife and I could hardly believe the value for money. From pick ups from Durham to Heathrow and back,to the number of coach and train journeys , quality hotels, great choice of food throughout and our first night in Heathrow Hilton. What really made our trip a success was our guide, Prashant, who managed a party of twenty four very varied, sometimes a little unpredictable travellers with ease.Nothing was too much trouble for him and as a group we gelled and warmed to Prashant as he kept us safe, well informed and a little entertained by his mix of authority and humanity.Where do I begin with the tour itself ? India,a country of extremes.Poverty,wealth,order,chaos.Sometimes bleak, often breathtakingly beautiful. The people, the cities, art, architecture, flaura and fauna.Delhi,Jaipur, Amritsar,Agra, Ranthambore, Chandigarh and the icing on the cake that is Shimla. An absolute masterclass of man versus nature, the railway and buildings are an unbelievable feat, but wait until you see the dual carriageway being built on the mountainside.🤯I could go on for a very long time but I'll just post some photos. Thanks to Titan, thanks to the excellent Prashant and and a massive thanks to the other twenty two travellers who helped shape our holiday of a lifetime.🏁💜

I have booked the Icelandic...

I have booked the Icelandic Adventure holiday with Titan Travel, the Booking Staff was pleasant throughout. What I love about Titan Travel, transfer from your home to the airport and vice versa is included in the holiday.

Danube cruise was great value....

Danube cruise was great value. Well organised. Clear instructions from Titan prior to travel. Door to door service great.

Exceptional trip and service by Titan

Just returned from a fabulous tour of California & the golden west. It’s a full on tour with early starts but you see so much varied landscape from the ocean to the desert to Yosemite. My 2nd tour with Titan & my first solo tour. Thoroughly enjoyed it & met some great people. Grand Canyon was amazing would definitely recommend

Not merely a holiday, rather a memorable experience

I have used other travel operators; this was the 1st time of touring with Titan----Israel, The Holy Land, from being collected from home and returned at the end of the holiday this was an unforgettable experience; the Tour Manager, a PhD Archaeology made the whole tour so interesting, he enlightened us throughout each day from an historical, archeological and Biblical viewpoint, bringing each site we visited come to life, and went over and above his remit escorting us for evening trips around the local area; thanks also to our very patient driver who coped with the very busy traffic; our hotels were good, professional and pleasant staff and really good food; I would recommend Titan to anyone looking for a fascinating tour with excellent efficient service thank you Titan nor just for a holiday for a memorable experience

We had a 2 weeks...

We had a 2 weeks fantastic holiday arranged by Titan to Vietnam and Cambodia. Excellent, well organised Throughly enjoyed. Very good service by Vietnam Airlines, if you could afford book it in premium economy. We had a door to door service , picked up to airport from home and then dropped at home from airport, very convinient. Particular credit goes to our guide THI who is a caring, knolegeable, friendly down to earth man who made our trip a memorable one. I will not hesitate to book another holiday through Titan, their staff are friendly and helpful

We had a fantastic holiday...

We had a fantastic holiday in Mississippi. Right from our chauffeur driven car picking us up to the return journey, we had a great time. The first hotel The Gaylord was amazing, absolutely huge, first class. The second The Double tree in Memphis unfortunately wasn't, the hotel was tired and very basic, the only plus was where it is situated in the centre of town, we were only there two nights so it wasn't to bad. The American Queen Steam Boat was first class all the way, thoroughly enjoyed the seven nights sailing down the Mississippi. The last hotel the Sheraton New Orleans was very comfortable too. Our guide throughout our time away was Laura Tuttle. she was amazing, very knowledgeable, and helpful. We also had a coach driver Guil, who went over and beyond to give you the best time. Other coach guides included Jim,who was so funny, and also very knowledgeably. Very entertaining throughout. The entire itinerary itinerary was very well thought out, included a huge variety of visits to different Interesting locations. Highly recommend using Titan for all your holiday destinations.

Perfect Italian Holiday…

Just returned from a lovely week in Sorrento at the Grand Hotel Hermitage, we had an excellent guide Peter Macchristopher. we loved the hotel the staff were very nice especially in the dining rooms, the food was good and the room we had was really nice with a wonderful view. Altogether very good value holiday.we felt the trip to Pompei was very good also boat trip to Amalfi. I would recommend a walk to the village of St Agatha and a three hour ride on the Little Blue Train. Great fun.this can be booked at reception.

THE GREAT INDIAN RAIL JOURNEY!!!!...

THE GREAT INDIAN RAIL JOURNEY!!!! (Dreadful) Avoid Titan and Saga at all costs. False descriptions of the tour and dreadful administration Returned to the UK last evening with a great sigh of relief after the worst holiday ever. 1. No block booking of airplane seats by Titan. (Husband and I sat apart on the long, overnight flight) 2. Unable to pre-book seats as Titan reference numbers did not coincide with anything. 3. Husband and I not sat together on any of the train journeys! In fact, on one occasion I was sat, alone on a sleeper carriage, a couple of carriages away from the rest of the group who were scattered over two or three carriages. Terrifying as a female to be sat alone in the midst of noisy locals!!!!! (Eventually the guide, Rahi, did come to rescue me and found a seat near the main group) 4. The guide, Rahi, would usually get off the coach and begin walking off without waiting for all the group to disembark the coach. (Spot the guide in the crowd!) 5. The guide, Rahi, refused to use any identifying prop such as a flag, hat, jacket or umbrella. Frightening to be in the manic crowds of Delhi and other crowded places to be unable to see the guide. 6. NO AUDIO HEADSET system on any excursion 7. The guide, Rahi, didn’t face the whole group, but stood sideways on and was unable to be heard by the majority. 8. OUTRAGEOUS behaviour by the guide when he enquired as to the whereabouts of my husband, whom I explained was in bed with an upset stomach and was feeling unwell. Rahi DID A REVERSE AIR PUNCH😳😳. This was in response to an earlier conversation when my husband had complained about our separate seating arrangements. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL 9. When we arrived at Heathrow to find our aircraft seats were not allocated, we were advised to speak to our guide on arrival at Delhi. Rahi merely shrugged his shoulders and said he couldn’t do anything. 10. Tour pace incorrect - gruelling pace and only half a day relaxation due to the guide, Rahi, throwing in visits to shops and factories fie him to earn his commission as I head him tell another!!!!!!! 11. When off loaded the return flight due to illness, we were unable to get in contact with Titan/Saga. Left in Delhi without an hotel or flight!!! Found accommodation but didn’t remove shoes or clothes due to the poor standard. Final summary: Poor, disappointing, inefficient, incompetent, misleading, misrepresentations, are just a few words to describe.

Luxury VIP door to door...

Luxury VIP door to door travel! I don't think so....Titan sent a Toyota Prius uber to Stanstead for a return journey to Newport, S Wales. 4 adults plus luggage! the experience was anything but luxurious. Contacted Titan on the return journey and since return. They simply didn't seem interested and offered us a £300 travel discount off a future trip! After a lot of emails they converted it to a £300 cash refund. Give it a lot of thought before booking !

I only wished it lasted longer
Great tour with amazing sights and wildlife; however, be aware of a lot of driving the first two days on the way to banff and on the last two days back to Vancouver. Furthermore the itinerary should be updated as there where some changes as to the description.
This trip was the best experience of my life so far! My CEO Melanie was so amazing, I felt so at ease and happy throughout every step of the tour. This is the perfect trip to see some of Canada. 100000/10 would recommend to everyone!

IRCC Deputy Minister Transition Binder 2024 – Temporary Immigration: How Visitors Come to Canada

[ Redacted ] appears where sensitive information has been removed in accordance with the principles of the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act .

  • International tourism generated approximately $16B in 2022. Visitor volumes fluctuate, but the overall trend has been upward year-over-year.
  • All foreign nationals seeking to enter Canada are screened for inadmissibility (health, security and criminality). Nearly all visitors are screened before they travel; the level of screening corresponds to the perceived level of risk and is determined largely by a traveller’s nationality.
  • Visitors generate tourism revenue, reunite friends and family, and also promote social and cultural connections.
  • Visa policy is politically sensitive: lifting a visa communicates trust and partnership, imposing a visa negatively impacts bilateral relationships.

Current Program

  • Screening aims to “push the border out,” manage migration, and protect the health, safety and security of Canadians.
  • Screening aims to issue visas only to genuine visitors who can support themselves during their temporary stay in Canada, and will not remain in Canada without status.
  • All inadmissibility assessments require a case-by-case analysis based on the facts of the case and the evidence before the decision maker.
  • Cases may be flagged for additional screening based on information provided by the individual applying to come to Canada, security screening indicators or any adverse information that may be flagged in Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) or the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) systems. IRCC may refer such cases to the CBSA or the Canadian Security Intelligence Service for a more in-depth review.
  • By law, all visitors require a visa to travel to Canada, unless otherwise exempt.
  • Higher risk nationals must apply for a temporary resident visa (TRV) and enrol their biometrics (fingerprints and photograph).
  • Lower risk nationals travelling to or through Canada by air must apply online for a light-touch electronic travel authorization (eTA).
  • Application: Collects comprehensive details and supporting documents
  • Screening: Requires biometrics; includes an assessment of a traveller’s intent
  • Review: Manual review by officer; passport and TRV counterfoil physically inspected
  • Validity: Up to 10 years; multiple entries (in majority of cases)
  • Fee: $100 + $85 biometric fee
  • China and India are the top visa-required source countries
  • Application: Fully digital; collects basic, self-declared traveller information
  • Screening: Light-touch (for example, known immigration history)
  • Review: Most applications automatically approved by system in minutes
  • Validity: Up to five years; multiple entries
  • United Kingdom, France and Mexico are the top eTA source countries

Visa Policy Framework

  • safety and security concerns
  • passport integrity
  • bilateral benefits
  • the performance of the traveller population in question (for example, asylum claims and visa refusals)

Recent Developments

  • On June 6, 2023, Canada lifted the visa on known travellers Footnote 1 from 13 countries to support post-pandemic economic recovery and tailor visitor screening more toward individualized risk (beyond just a traveller’s nationality). These countries include the Philippines, Thailand, Morocco, Seychelles, Argentina, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Panama, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Trinidad and Tobago, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. These are considered “partial visa lifts” because now, these countries produce two streams of visitors: those who need a visa, and those who only need an eTA.
  • [ Redacted ]

Visitors Program Modernization

  • Improving how visitors, students and workers come to Canada will be an early deliverable under the Digital Platform Modernization initiative and will allow IRCC to keep up with increasing temporary resident volumes. IRCC will shift away from primarily issuing physical documents to issuing digital visas and immigration permits, while improving the data the Department uses for screening.
  • A shift to digital visas and immigration permits is critical to our ability to effectively respond to a crisis, better support clients’ needs and expectations for modern digital services, and reduce the Department’s reliance on outdated paper processes that add to processing times. Clients would no longer wait without their passports while we add a visa counterfoil sticker and instead could travel as soon as we approve their application. At the border, it means shorter wait times as arriving international students and workers would no longer need to be sent to a CBSA officer to print a paper immigration permit.
  • Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom already issue digital visas, while the United States and the European Union are moving ahead with this approach. This underscores the need for Canada to keep pace in a tight market for international tourism and the attraction of talent.
  • To strengthen program integrity while shifting to digital visas and permits, IRCC is seeking to introduce a digital capture feature to accurately collect clients’ biographic passport information and verify the authenticity of their travel documents remotely.
  • The Department is also working with the U.S., United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and INTERPOL to increase immigration information sharing to better screen our clients based on their interactions with our closest allies, and to ensure they hold legitimate travel documents.

Advice And Representation

  • Many foreign nationals seeking to enter Canada receive advice or representation from an immigration or citizenship representative, including immigration and citizenship consultants. Canada has taken decisive action to improve oversight, strengthen enforcement, and increase accountability among consultants.
  • IRCC is supporting the development and implementation of a new governance regime for consultants. The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants is an arm’s-length body that is mandated under the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act (College Act) to regulate consultants. It opened on November 23, 2021, and is subject to government oversight. The full implementation of the governance regime requires the development by the Department of regulations pursuant to the College Act (anticipated in 2025).
  • The Department is also developing an administrative penalties and consequences regime which will allow IRCC to issue monetary penalties to consultants, lawyers and unauthorized practitioners who violate the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act or the Citizenship Act while providing advice or representation. The regime is anticipated to take effect in 2025 through amendments to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations and Citizenship Regulations.

Upcoming Milestones

  • Canada is pursuing visitor screening based on the individual risk posed by each traveller. Today’s visa policy is largely based on nationality, but countries do not fit neatly into two risk categories—all countries contain lower- and higher-risk travellers.
  • In response to increased visitor demand and modern client expectations, IRCC recognizes that a shift to the digital delivery of visas and permits is necessary to remain competitive. Initial stakeholder engagement with the air industry and Canada’s M5 partners is underway; the goal is to launch a digital visa pilot in 2025.
