XC100 Customize Recommendation | Eahora Ebike

XC100 Customize Recommendation

Posted by Eahora E-Bike on June 15, 2021

If you are fond of the outlook and specs of XC100, considering having it as your first electric bicycle(or already had one), this blog will be a useful reference. After reading, you can know about:

  • Whether XC100 is the right bike for you
  • How to improve the comfort of XC100
  • A cost-effective XC100 customization
  • Other customization options for XC100

Just like picking clothes, you must know your own physical dimensions before choosing a bike. The most practical one is the symphysis pubis height, the height measured from the bottom of your feet to your symphysis pubis.

Electric Bike Rider Height | Eahora Ebike

Rider Height

A rider's symphysis pubis height needs to be higher than the step-through height. Therefore, he/she can operate the bicycle freely. Meanwhile, injuries can be avoided in some cases. The step-through height of XC100 is 27.55 inches, which means XC100 is suitable for those whose symphysis pubis height is more than 27.55 inches.

Mountain Electric Bike | Eahora XC100 Rider Height

Riding Position

Symphysis pubis height is also an important factor in adjusting the seat height and determining the comfort level of riding a certain bicycle. There is a method proposed by Hamley and Thomas, the height that measured from the top of the pedal to the top of the saddle should be 109% of the rider's symphysis pubis height. This method is widely welcomed and recognized by the top coaches in the industry. The seat-to-pedal height of XC100 ranges from 30 inches to 36.4 inches. According to the above theory, the riding experience will be highly improved if the XC100 rider’s symphysis pubis height is between 27.6 inches and 33.4 inches.

Mountain Electric Bike | Eahora XC100 Rider Position

Besides seat height and step-through height, handlebar height also directly affects your riding experience. The fixed handlebar height of XC100 is 40.94 inches while its seat height ranges from 34.64 inches to 40.55 inches. We can tell that XC100 comes with a small height difference between the handlebar and seat as other mountain bikes. It’s not that friendly as folding ones and that makes a hard time for senior riders.

Mountain Electric Bike | Eahora XC100 Rider Position

Mike is 5'10'' and weighs 190lbs. Like most senior riders, he prefers a more upright riding position. So he added a stem extender to raise the handlebar height. With the extended stem, Mike can ride in a more comfortable position and reduce the suffering of the back.

Mountain Electric Bike | Eahora XC100 Rider Position

He also mentioned that a wider padded seat helped a lot to ease ischium soreness when having a long-distance ride. If you want to reduce the discomfort of the wrists and palms, he recommended adding softer grips which he did the same on his own bike. Have to say the color is perfectly matched.

In this modification, Mike spent not much but greatly improved his own riding experience of XC100. Let have a quick view of his chooses:

Shimano pedal-out new entry-level 2021 RC and XC cycling shoe models

  • August 4, 2020

pro tour xc100

The new Shimano RC3 and RC1 Road shoes and XC3 and XC1 MTB shoes promise comfort and great power transfer for riders just starting out in cycling.

Dedicated racing cycling shoes are typically the first piece of kit that identify ‘cyclists’ from those who simply ride bikes, which makes the choice of entry level shoe an important step towards unlocking the performance potential of a rider. That’s why Shimano has updated its competitive entry-level road and cross-country kicks with features and technologies trickled down from the company’s elite level professional shoe lines.

RC collection:

Proving their class on first impressions, the most immediate thing to notice is how the new Shimano RC3 (RC300) and RC1 (RC100) models share similar looks and features to the Shimano S-PHYRE shoes worn many by Pro Tour professionals.

pro tour xc100

Of course, emulating the look of a pro is one thing, but emulating the performance is quite another. To help in that regard though the RC3 comes with:

  • a micro-adjustable Boa L6 dial in the mid-outer section which enables riders to find the perfect fit even whilst riding
  • a surround wrapping upper, seamless midsole construction and glass fibre reinforced nylon sole provide for comfort
  • a low-stack midsole providing extra stability and control when the speed goes up,

pro tour xc100

All these features are trickled down from Shimano’s premium models, meaning that the RC3 can stake a serious claim for that sweet spot shoe that brings comfort on big rides and delivers efficient power transfer when you put the hammer down.

RC3:  Stiffness: 6/12, weight: 243g. Size availability: Men’s, 36-52; women’s, 35-44; wide versions 36-52. Colours available: Black, White, Red

The RC1 on the other hand is more towards the comfort end of the spectrum with:

  • triple Velcro straps for an adjustable fit
  • a breathable mesh upper shell to keep your feet in place without too much pressure
  • a outsole similar to the RC3 models, which brings power output and comfortable walkability with it’s 6/12 rated stiffness sole

pro tour xc100

Overall the RC1 offers a great mix of day-to-day ease of use, comfort and value for money.

RC1:  weight: 238g. Size availability: Men’s, 36-50; women’s, 36-44. Colours available: Black, Yellow, Navy

For more details on Shimano’s Road shoes see  bike.shimano.com

XC collection:

The Shimano XC models also feature the DNA of the premium S-PHYRE MTB range, with high-end looks and the capability to deliver performance.

The XC3 features:

  • a Boa L6 dial for micro-adjustability on the go
  • SHIMANO’s Dynalast fitting to reduce fatigue over longer distances.
  • a low stack height (thanks to the removal of the lasting board) which stabilizes the foot for better power transfer
  • toe and heel protection and tough lugs so the XC3 can shrug off dirt, mud and anything else thrown at it.

pro tour xc100

The Shimano XC3 is available in Black and Navy colours. Stiffness: 5/12, weight: 332g. Size availability: Men’s, 36-52; women’s, 35-44; wide versions 36-52.

Like the RC1, the Shimano XC1 recognises that comfort and ease of use are the essential feature of a pair of shoes, and it gets that spot on with:

  • three offset Velcro straps to reduce tension yet spread the tightening force across the foot upper
  • an upper fashioned from perforated synthetic leather for great breathability and fit
  • a lightweight glass fiber reinforced nylon sole with rubber XC outsole to promote a stable pedal engagement, secure walking grip and assured power transfer.

pro tour xc100

The XC1 is available in Black and Red colours. RC1: Stiffness: 5/12, weight: 334g. Size availability: Men’s, 38-50; women’s, 36-44.

Shimano RC & XC Range: Shoes That Say ‘Welcome To Cycling’

Shimano RC. Shimano Shoes

Apparel Product News

Dedicated race-cycling shoes are typically the first piece of equipment that identify a ‘cyclists’ from someone who rides a bike. Choosing a quality entry-level shoe is an essential step towards unlocking the performance potential of a rider.

That’s why Shimano has updated its competitive entry-level road, and cross-country kicks with both features and technologies adapted from their elite-level professional shoe lines.

Road Competition shoes

The most prominent thing about the new RC3 (RC300) and RC1 (RC100) models is that they share similar features with the SHIMANO S-PHYRE shoes worn by many  Pro-Tour professionals.

Of course, emulating the look of a pro is one thing, but emulating the performance is something else altogether.

To help with that, the RC3 comes with:

Shimano RC3, Shimano Shoes, Shimano RC

  • A micro-adjustable Boa L6 dial in the mid-outer section which enables riders to find the perfect fit even while riding
  • A surround wrapping upper, seamless midsole construction and glass fibre reinforced nylon sole for comfort.
  • A low-stack midsole providing extra stability and control when speeds increase

All these features take after Shimano’s premium models, meaning that with the RC3, you can expect only the best.

RC3: Stiffness: 6/12, weight: 243g. Colours available: Black, White, Red

The RC1, on the other hand, caters more towards comfort with:

Shimano RC3, Shimano RC, Shimano Shoes

  • Triple Velcro straps for an adjustable fit
  • A breathable mesh upper shell to keep your feet in place without too much pressure.
  • An outsole similar to the RC3 models, which brings power output and comfortable walkability with its 6/12 rated stiffness sole

Overall, the RC1 offers a balance between day-to-day use, comfort, and value for money.

RC1: weight: 238g. Colours available: Black, Yellow, Navy

For more details on Shimano’s Road shoes see bike.shimano.com

Off-road Competition shoes:

The XC models also share features of the premium S-PHYRE MTB range, with both high-end looks and the capability to deliver in performance.

What To Expect From The XC3?

Shimano XC3, Shimano XC, Shimano Shoes

  • A Boa L6 dial for micro-adjustability on the go
  • SHIMANO’s Dynalast fitting to reduce fatigue over longer distances
  • A low stack height, through the removal of the lasting board which stabilises the foot for better power transfer
  • Toe and heel protection and sturdy lugs so the XC3 can shrug off dirt and mud.

The XC3 is available in Black and Navy colours. Stiffness: 5/12, weight: 332g.

Pga tour pro mike sweeney on living in his car, venmo changing his life and battling cut lines in 2024, share this article.

pro tour xc100

Mike Sweeney is an aspiring PGA Tour professional based out of South Florida. In 2023, he gained publicity after being known as the man who slept in his car and rapped on Spotify to fund his golf dream.

Monday Q wrote an article about his story last year and put his Venmo handle in the story. Sweeney received a life changing amount of money to get him through the 2023 season on PGA Tour Canada.

Sweeney’s golf game has improved tremendously since 2023 and finds himself on edge of the cut line in 2024. It has been weeks and weeks of missing the cut by one stroke.

Mike Sweeney sits down with Averee Dovsek on the “Why You Suck At Golf!” podcast to learn more about his mental struggles, financial burdens and what is on the horizon moving forward into the Summer.

FLY RACING XC 100 HYDRO PACK

Testing a way to ride hard and stay hydrated

By the staff of Dirt Wheels

pro tour xc100

Riding and testing often take us to remote locations to explore trails and terrain. We love finding new pathways of ATV riding pleasure, and that means we take all-day rides. Fly Racing has a nice lineup of Hydro Packs that come in sizes for long or short trail adventures. We picked up the XC100 that offers ample storage for our outings and a healthy-sized water reservoir. The Hydro Pack won’t break your wallet either at $99.95.

WHAT IT’S ABOUT

Fly’s XC100 comes with an array of storage options, from three main pockets to a net that unfolds and clips to the front of the pack to hold even more. The pack has a front pocket that can carry smaller items, with separators inside to assist with organization. Sitting above it is a micro fiber-lined pocket that is perfect to cradle your cell phone. The main pocket has two inner pocket liners, along with the water bladder.

The Hydro Pack comes with a HydraPak-branded, BPA- and PVC-free, 100-fluid-ounce water bladder that is easy to clean and refill. The connected tube utilizes a plug-and-play quick-disconnect end at the bladder. The bite valve twists open and closed to lessen the chance of leaks, and (like most bite valves) it self-seals after use.

Fly’s pack has one centrally located quick-release buckle on the front. The straps are adjustable to secure the pack on small- and large-sized riders. The front lower straps are Velcro-adjustable with the ability to reattach them to a tighter clasp if there is too much room. On the inside of the main pocket you will find Fly’s Tensionlock buckles for the upper straps. These are also easy to adjust and get the XC100 fitting just right. The back panel has two soft foam panels that run down it for comfort.

pro tour xc100

IT DOES THE JOB WELL

We recently traveled to Canada to explore some new trails and took the XC100 along for the trip. In the pack we carried a full bladder of water and a compact lunch. The smaller pockets held a cell phone, a radio, wallet and keys. On top of that a toolkit was in the pack, and we utilized the unfolding net to secure a jacket, just in case the weather turned on us.

Packing all of this is heavy for hours of riding, but it’s very beneficial and also needed just in case you break down. We have been stuck on the side of the trail before, and having food, water, tools and a way to communicate is extremely helpful. Fortunately, we also never ride alone.

Fly’s XC100 Hydro Pack is very comfortable to wear, easy to adjust to fit most riders, holds a lot of cargo and is well-made. We suggest you pick one of the three XC sizes up—30, 70 and 100 ounces, with different pocket options. Go to www.flyracing.com or call (208) 319-3079 for more info!

Rally Power Meter Series

The difference among the power meter pedals.

Simply put, the RS200/RK200/XC200 models are a dual-sensing system with BOTH pedals tracking rider data, enabling it to provide detailed Cycling Dynamics (i.e. left/right balance, seated versus standing, platform center offset, etc). The RS100/RK100/XC100 models measure only power output & cadence.

Pro Tour (1976-84)

Over the years the Pro Tour had Tange #2 tubing (known as Champion #2). Early models were only 10 speeds but featured wide range gearing. Rather than cantilevers, these models featured center-pull brakes with the calipers mounted directly to brazed-on frame bosses to reduce flex. Later versions (Pro Tour 15) featured triple cranksets and cantilever brakes.

Will the PGA Tour, PIF make a deal? A year later it’s still uncertain

Will the PGA Tour, PIF make a deal? A year later it’s still uncertain

It’s been one year since the shocking announcement of a framework agreement between the PGA Tour and PIF (the owners of LIV Golf), the monumental deal that ended litigation between the competing men’s pro golf tours and proposed a new business entity with the Saudis potentially investing billions into what has become PGA Tour Enterprises.

It was far from an actual deal, though. It was, in actuality, an agreement to stop the lawsuits and simply negotiate in good faith.

In the past year, deadlines have been extended. The United States government held an inquiry into the potential union. Players have taken on power. Key figures on June 6, 2023 have either stepped down or seen their influence wane. A new investment group, led by American sport owners, emerged. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan went from the man with the most power to players calling for his resignation to firmly back in control. All while players like Tiger Woods, Patrick Cantlay and Jordan Spieth have taken on powerful roles. Still, few seem to know where any of this is heading.

So where are we a year on from the June 6 bombshell ? Let’s try to cut through the noise and explain where things stand.

The change in power

A “PGA Tour policy board” may mean nothing to you. It shouldn’t. But know the policy board decides almost everything for the PGA Tour. And there’s no better way to begin to detail the chaotic past year than the shuffling of seats on the board.

A year ago, investment banking legend Jimmy Dunne, popular with players for his willingness to connect them with the corporate world, was the key outside force on the board. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy was balancing being one of golf’s biggest superstars and the most powerful among the five player-directors on the board. He was the PGA Tour’s most effective communicator, repeatedly denouncing LIV.

Well, when the June 6 announcement happened, it sent the golf world into a tizzy. For starters, it was all done in complete secrecy, so on a tour where the players are also essentially the owners, they had no say. Additionally, players who spent the past year turning down massive sums of money from the Saudis and defending the tour were livid that the tour just legitimized LIV and they still didn’t get the payday . Monahan and Dunne, the former secretly deputizing the latter to initiate talks with PIF, went from the leaders to the bad guys in many players’ eyes.

The players wanted more of a say. They wanted more voting power, insisting on an extra voting seat to be added specifically for Woods. They also campaigned to add former tour player turned investment banker Joe Ogilvie as “liaison director.” Suddenly the players were not just more engaged — they had voting power.

pro tour xc100

The narrative became that the Cantlay camp fought for more money for the biggest stars, while McIlroy’s side wanted the money spread throughout the tour, among other disagreements like any potential return for LIV players and a more global golf tour. Eventually, McIlroy resigned from the board. Spieth, who reportedly sides with Cantlay and Woods, took McIlroy’s spot.

Since then, McIlroy has dramatically softened his stance on LIV and campaigned for the sport to unify and bring the best players together. He’s even criticized comments from board members like Spieth and Cantlay publicly. So when board member Webb Simpson (aligned with McIlroy) asked to resign in April and have McIlroy take his place, the powers that be rejected that move. Whether it was vendetta or procedure, the impact was the same — McIlroy was instead added to the PGA Tour Enterprises transaction subcommittee that negotiates with LIV.

Within 12 days of McIlroy’s failed return, two more board members in favor of a deal with PIF resigned, Dunne and investment banker Mark Flaherty. Dunne cited players taking control of board voting and “no meaningful progress” toward a deal with PIF.

“I think things are, unfortunately, put in a really bad light right now,” Spieth said last month, “and I think things are actually in a really, really good place, based on what I know, which is quite a lot in this situation.”

LIV did not stop

When the June 6th announcement happened, it was argued the PGA Tour and Monahan had the power. PIF would invest billions into the newly created PGA Tour Enterprises and PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan would be chairman and get a seat on the policy board, but Monahan would be CEO of the new venture and have control over LIV’s future. That was met with skepticism, as many argued the man with the money actually controls things, but it was sold as PIF just wanted a seat at the table in professional golf and everyone got what they wanted.

By the fall, there was little actual movement toward a deal and the PGA Tour had made it clear it was actually seeking other investment opportunities — more on that in a second. There was deserved doubt of anything happening by the original Dec. 31 deadline. So in late November, it was major news when rumors circulated about LIV negotiating with the reigning Masters champ, Jon Rahm . He was widely considered the first or second-best player in the world, and many wondered if LIV pursuing Rahm was to put pressure on the PGA Tour. Rahm admitted months later he thought signing, for hundreds of millions of dollars, would expedite negotiations and bring the sport back together.

No such thing has happened yet. No deal was done by Dec. 31, and both sides agreed to extend the deadline. LIV has continued to add executives in recent weeks with new hires from Pepsi and the Philadelphia 76ers while adding office spaces in New York and London.

PGA Tour added new investors

If Rahm was LIV’s key bargaining chip, the PGA Tour’s leverage was to add outside investment. On Jan. 31, the tour officially launched PGA Tour Enterprises backed by a $3 billion commitment from Strategic Sports Group , a consortium of major investors in professional sports like John Henry, Arthur Blank and Steve Cohen, among others. The deal made players actual owners in the sport, with $750 million in equity distributed to contributing players (past and present) based on value added to the tour.

The challenge of this investment was understanding if it signaled a move toward a deal or the tour ensuring it didn’t “need” the Saudis. Some argued it was the tour pushing PIF out. Others argued private equity investment expects a return and those investors would want a deal unifying the sport. SSG investors have not spoken publicly to provide transparency but Ogilvie told Golfweek that he believes SSG “committed with the hope that there would be another investor.”

Spieth was asked his thoughts on needing PIF the week before the announcement and said, “I don’t think it’s needed. The idea is that we have a strategic partner that allows the PGA Tour to go forward the way that it’s operating right now without anything else, with the option of other investors.”

A week later, SSG investors and PGA Tour representatives reportedly traveled to Saudi Arabia to meet with Al-Rumayyan. In March, the parties (including players on the policy board) met again at Woods’ home in the Bahamas. Members involved said it was more of a pleasant, well-intentioned greeting and no major movement happened toward a deal.

pro tour xc100

What about Jay Monahan?

As recently as December, board members asked Monahan to resign from his place as PGA Tour commissioner. He completely lost the players’ trust after the June 6 announcement, and after Rahm left it appeared he was losing more and more control of the situation.

Then, with allies like Dunne and Flaherty leaving and the possibility of another board member Ed Herlihy departing when his term is up this fall, it was reasonable to wonder if Monahan was on his way out. McIlroy and Justin Thomas defended Monahan, while others like Xander Schauffele admitted Monahan has “a long way to go.” The tricky thing with Monahan is people have always said he’s great one-on-one and great with sponsors and investors. It’s just on the big stages and podiums that he appears so unconvincing.

So where does this leave a deal?

It’s never felt more unclear. The answer might really be that both sides are preparing for the possibility of no deal while simultaneously hoping to get one done.

From the outside looking in, it appears there’s been very little movement and many of the key figures in favor of a deal have been marginalized. Others argue that there’s far more happening than people know and it’s just going to take time to figure out what this future looks like.

There are hang-ups, like the possibility of a “global tour” and the future of LIV. Different possibilities from “AFC-NFC” style crossover tournaments to an elevated Champions League -like tour across the world have been suggested. Taking the sport to a more global place has been a key focus for LIV, and McIlroy is a fan of that path. Many on the PGA Tour side are reluctant to commit to that sort of schedule, preferring the United States-centric series. Also, there’s the conversation of whether or not to invite LIV defectors back to PGA Tour events, and some factions on tour are adamantly against it.

Any deal would also require government oversight. Sports Business Journal reported earlier this year that Department of Justice approval could take more than a year, making any sort of unification years away.

There’s far more that we don’t know than we do, with most key figures sticking to generalities and vague sentiments about hoping a deal gets done. We do not truly know what might happen with the DOJ. We don’t really know who wants a deal and who doesn’t. It’s all a game of sorting through clues and attempting to create meaning.

The Black Keys Split With Managers Following Arena Tour Cancellation

The band is no longer represented by Irving Azoff and Steve Moir, who have co-managed the group since 2021.

  • By Chris Eggertsen

Chris Eggertsen

The Black Keys

The Black Keys has parted ways with its managers, Irving Azoff and Steve Moir , following the abrupt cancellation of the band’s arena tour in North America late last month.

First reported by the New York Times , a representative for Azoff has confirmed the split, telling Billboard it was an “amicable parting.” A representative for The Black Keys declined to comment. Moir did not respond to a request for comment by press time.

The Black Keys Cancel North American Leg of International Players Tour

Trending on billboard.

Two days later, the band — which consists of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney — posted an update on X (formerly Twitter) writing that they had “decided,” following a run of shows in the United Kingdom and Europe, “to make some changes to the North American leg of the International Players Tour that will enable us to offer a similarly exciting, intimate experience for both fans and the band, and will be announcing a revised set of dates shortly.” No other reason was given for the cancellation of the arena dates, though it has been widely speculated that slow ticket sales were to blame.

The Black Keys signed with Azoff and Moir in 2021 after parting with their longtime manager, John Peets at Q Prime South.

As Black Keys fans await the promised rescheduled dates and/or refunds for the arena shows, a single North American date remains on the band’s official website: a July 6 performance at NASCAR Chicago Street Race.

The cancellation of the Keys’ arena dates is the second-profile tour cancellation to go down in recent weeks. On Friday (May 31), Live Nation announced that Jennifer Lopez had canceled her This Is Me…Live Tour just a month before it was set to kick off in Orlando, Fla. The touring giant stated that the superstar was “taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends.” Lopez later released her own statement saying that she was “completely heartsick” over the cancellation and that she “wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”
