Despite being used by millions of people, the bus travel industry in India is highly fragmented as well as unorganized and it took a while to witness some innovations in the bus ticketing industry in India. This paper attempts to explore as well as evaluate the extent of the transformation and its impact by focusing on ‘redbus’ which is the largest bus ticketing company operating in India. The first section of this paper discusses the nature of bus travel industry alongside the challenges faced by the Indian bus travel industry. The second section of this paper enumerates the challenges encountered by ‘redbus’ which presently covers geographically 80% of the overall market. Subsequently, this paper examines a growth model in existence for ‘redbus’ which would provide a sustainable growth in the long term.

El desfasaje existente entre el aumento de la matricula de ingreso de estudiantes a la formacion de grado y el reducido numero de egresos (graduaciones) que se evidencia en Facultad de Veterinaria (FVet) cada ano, no escapa a la realidad institucional de todas las carreras de grado que ofrece la Universidad de la Republica (UdelaR), en Uruguay. En FVet llegar a etapas avanzadas de la formacion de grado, es acompanada en muchos casos con una extension en el tiempo que llega a superar el doble de anos de la duracion teorica de la carrera, que establece el Plan de Estudios vigente. This article studies the daily, individual and subjective practices towards the misery of the postwar period (1939-1952). The objective is, first, to analyse the popular responses to hunger within and outside Franco’s autarkic legality. Second, we delve into the meaning of these small tactics and on the motivations of their protagonists, their manifestations, the results achieved or the way in which the dictatorship perceived them. We demonstrate that post-war shortages were the element that most conditioned and shaped popular attitudes towards the dictatorship until the 1950s. In the context of extreme poverty, ordinary men and women activated a whole series of ingenious strategies with the triple objective of obtaining food and improving their domestic economies, normalising their daily lives and expressing disagreement or disagreement with Franco’s interventionism. Hence, depending on the necessity of each moment, these strategies can be interpreted as survival, Eigen-Sinn or resistance practices.

Kampong Tridi and Warna-Warni are two small communities in Malang, Indonesia, which have started efforts to realize a sustainable environment within a broader national movement to eliminate slum areas. Colourful artwork and painted murals have made them popular tourist spots that attract 150 tourists per day on average, which helps boost the local economy. However, both kampongs are still lacking sanitation service. Blackwater and greywater generated from inhabitants’ activities are directly dumped into the Brantas River, negatively impacting water quality. A workshop was organized to increase the participants’ awareness of environmental issues, particularly in water resource sustainability, and obtain a commitment to adopt constructed wetlands as sustainable, nature-based solutions for wastewater treatment.
