Day 1 7am- 7:30am:  Pick up from your accommodation 8:30am:  Depart mainland on barge 9am:  Begin your guided tour.  Touring order and itinerary may vary due to tides. Lunch at Kgari Beach resort 5:30pm:  Arrive and check in at Eurong Beach Resort (K’gari beach) 6:30pm  Purchase dinner leisure at McKenzie’s on 75 restuarant. Pool table and drinks available at McKenzie’s bar until late.

Day 2 7am:  Breakfast at McKenzie on 75 Restaurant. 8am:  Tour departs from outside Resort reception. Picnic lunch on tour along with morning and afternoon tea 5pm:  Return ferry transfer back to mainland 5:50pm:  Arrive back at River Head(local courtesy drop off to accommodation)

• Lake McKenzie  – K’gari’s most iconic swimming spot! Relax along the pristine white silica shore and be immersed in the crystal-clear fresh water nestled amongst the sand dunes. •  Central Station  – Admire the towering trees growing from sand and explore along the rainforest boardwalk with your expert local guide. •  Pile Valley  – Wander through the subtropical rainforest and marvel at the centuries-old satinay trees and towering palms. •  75 Mile Beach  – Cruise K’gari’s golden beach highway and discover the hidden gems only the locals know about. You can join the Air Fraser team for a scenic joy-flight over the island (optional extra). •  Eli Creek  – Wade through the cool shallow waters or float downstream towards the Coral Sea! •  Maheno Shipwreck  – Visit the famous rustic ruins that was once a luxury cruise liner. Washed ashore in 1935 it is now a photographer’s paradise and historic wonder. •  The Pinnacles Coloured Sands  – Be amazed by these spectacularly technicoloured sand cliffs and the Dreamtime tale of how they were formed. There are 72 different colours to see! •  Indian Head  – As the most easterly point of the island, marine life such as turtles, rays and whales (August to October) are often spotted in the waters around the base of this rocky headland. •  Champagne Pools  – Experience this amazing natural jacuzzi, as crashing waves meet the volcanic rock pools along the shore. It’s only saltwater swimming spot on 75 Mile Beach. •  Lake Wabby  – Trek across the shifting golden sands of the Hammerstone sandblow, and arrive at this hidden gem; a window and barrage lake, with glistening emerald green depths.  (Please note:  this is a 4km return walk through bushland and across soft sands – a moderate fitness level is required.  The Lake Wabby walk is an optional activity).

Swimming. The ocean and waters surrounding K’gari have multiple riptides, no lifeguards patrolling the beaches, and known for shark attacks. We highly recommend NOT to go swimming in the open ocean, regardless of your swimming competency. The weather is quite mild year-round. The temperatures during the Summer reach the low 30’s during the day and Winter nights can hover around 10 degrees Celsius during the night. This trip requires a moderate level of fitness as it involves a number of short walks, allowing you to really get among nature. Please bring sturdy, comfortable walking shoes, comfortable clothing, a cozzie (swimwear), and a towel. Group participation makes up a lot of this trip, so you’ll be required to help with the preparation of meals and cleaning up. These are the kind of tasks that bring a group closer together.

2 Day Fraser Island (K’gari) Tour Departing Hervey Bay Itinerary

Discover everything Fraser Island has to offer on this two-day adventure that takes in beautiful lakes, impressive sand dunes, and ancient rainforest scenery. While on the world’s largest sand island, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the local wildlife and learn all about the natural history of this fascinating place.

In the afternoon, on our first day, it’s time to head to our comfortable beach resort to enjoy dinner, jump in the pool and snooze away in your hotel room. And our second day starts with a delicious breakfast before we explore the rest of K’gari (Fraser Island).

When we arrive on Fraser Island, we’ll start by taking you on an exciting 4WD adventure along the famous 75 Mile Beach.

You can visit the impressive sand dunes of Lake Wabby. It takes about a 4km return hike to get here (optional activity). But you’ll be in awe of the emerald green water, soft sand and the forest that surrounds the lake.

One of the most beautiful places on Fraser Island is with no doubt Lake McKenzie. With crystal clear water, white sand and a green, lush forest it will feel like you just stumbled upon a fairy tale.

While we walk through rainforests, a knowledgeable guide will point out the giant King Ferns at Central Station that date back hundreds of years and the World Heritage-listed Satinay trees at Wanggoolba Creek.

We’ll also check out the famous Eli Creek, where you can float down back to the beach, via a 4WD journey to see the Maheno Shipwreck before heading to the nearby Coloured Sands and the Pinnacles.

• __Day one__
• Travel north from your pickup location toward Double Island Point. Take the opportunity to photo Point Lighthouse and the coloured sand cliffs of Rainbow Beach, where you will break at Rainbow Beach to enjoy your freshly made picnic lunch
• Depart Rainbow beach and 4WD along tracks to Inskip Point beach and Fraser Island lookout, before boarding the ferry cruise to Fraser Island
• 4WD Fraser Island 's 75 Mile eastern Surf Beach to Eli Creek and visit the Maheno Shipwreck
• Vist Fraser Islands deepest Lake Lake Wabby in the late afternoon and enjoy the famous sand dunes
• Travel to through the Melaleuca and cycad forest before arriving at the Fraser Island beach resort, only 50 metre from the Fraser island Surf beach
• Afternoon Beach Walk on sunset, before resort buffet dinner at the restaurant
• Spend the evening walking along 75 mile beach, stargaze, relax Fraser Island Style __Day Two__
• Have the option of an early rise to see the sunrise over the Ocean, enjoy a walk or hike before breakfast or sleep in and wake slowly to the calls of the forest
• Spend the morning the surrounding areas, enjoy a lake swim, a hike or photograph the beaches and wildlife
• Take an optional hike through the rainforest along the boardwalk from Central Station to see the rare giant King Fern, the world heritage Satinay Forest and crystal clear waters of Wanggoolba Creek meandering between Picabeen Palms and Central Station before returning to the mainlands and to your drop off location
• Meals included on day two is breakfast at Eurong Beach Resort
• A Gold Coast transfer is available directly with the supplier, the transfer can be arranged once booking is confirmed for an additional rate from $100 per person
