Taylor Swift ‘Eras’ Tour in Houston: What you Need to Know Before You Go

Houston is gearing up for Taylor Swift’s Eras tour , with three performances at NRG Stadium scheduled for April 21, 22, and 23. Swifties, here’s a rundown of everything you need to know before attending the concert!

Start time and merch.

Concert start times: Taylor Swift’s concerts in Houston will begin at 6:30 p.m. on all three nights, with gates opening at 4:30 p.m.

Eras Tour merch truck hours: The merch truck will be stationed outside NRG Stadium, near Bud Light Plaza, with extended hours as follows:

• Thursday – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Friday – 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.
• Saturday – 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Concert Duration

Taylor Swift’s performances typically feature 44 songs and last around three hours, including two secret songs that change with each show.

Beabadoobee and Gracie Abrahams will open for Taylor Swift at the Houston concerts.

Estimated stage time for Taylor Swift

Based on her previous shows in Tampa and Dallas, Taylor Swift is likely to take the stage around 8 p.m.

NRG Stadium enforces a clear bag policy with size limits of 12” x 6” x 12”. Small clutch purses no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” are also permitted, with or without a handle or strap, and need not be clear.

Phone charger allowances

Portable phone chargers no larger than a credit card are allowed, but external battery packs for other items like light-up signs or costumes are prohibited.

NRG Go Portable Battery Rental Stations can be found in sections 105, 109, 124, 128, 348, 505, 511, 531, and 537.

Friendship Bracelets

Friendship bracelets can be brought in as long as they are worn or in a clear bag and do not contain lights.

Empty Refillable Water Bottles

Not allowed.

Medical Supplies

Medically necessary items are permitted after inspection. Notify security staff before scanning.

Rideshare Pickup/Dropoff

All rideshare services will pick up and drop off passengers in the yellow lot off Main Street. A pedestrian bridge over Kirby connects to NRG Stadium.

Parent Drop-Off

Parents should use Gate 13 off Lantern Point Drive to access the Green Lot for drop-offs.

Parking at NRG Stadium

Parking lots open at noon on April 21, 22, and 23, with a $40 fee per space, payable by credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. All NRG lots (Blue, Orange, Green, Red, Purple, and Yellow) will be available, with ADA Parking in the Blue Lot. There is no pre-paid parking or in-and-out access.

Roof Status

The roof at NRG Stadium will be closed during the concerts.

Metro Rail and Parking Options

METRO rail is an alternative transportation option to the concerts, with more information available here. METRO will not offer special shuttles or Park & Rides but will open the South Fannin lot as a special event lot for $20 per vehicle. Drivers can park there and ride METRORail to the NRG Park stop for free.

Tips for Parents with Younger Children

Ensure children have an ID bracelet or your phone number written on their arm in case of separation in the crowded and dark stadium.

Special Recognition for Taylor Swift

While Houston has not yet revealed its plans to honor Taylor Swift, the city is working on a special tribute. Other cities have previously celebrated her in various ways, such as Glendale changing its name to Swift City, Arlington posting signs for Taylor Swift Way, and Tampa making Swift the honorary mayor for a day. In anticipation of Taylor’s arrival, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo announced on social media that NRG Stadium will temporarily be renamed NRG Stadium (Taylor’s Version) for the weekend.

Taylor Swift's reign continues as she ramps up for the next leg of The Eras Tour. The singer-songwriter will kick off the European portion of her world tour in Paris in May, which will continue throughout the summer. From there, she'll return to North America to tour Canada and a few remaining US cities in the fall. If you're hoping to attend, we've compiled all of the details of The Eras Tour, including how to get Taylor Swift tour tickets.

Swift's Eras Tour has taken the world by storm since March 2023. The three-plus-hour tour features hits from each of Swift's album eras, from "Lover" to her Grammy Award-winning "Midnights." Each show also features surprise songs and occasional guests, so fans never quite know what they're in for. Swift released her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," in April, so the Swiftie hype will continue through the summer.

Getting tickets has become its own battle and many fans have waited hours in the Ticketmaster queue to hopefully snag some seats, if they could get a presale ticket code in the first place. While Swift continues to extend the tour, including new US dates, tickets remain hard to come by.

Below, we've put together a guide on everything to know about The Eras Tour, including the tour schedule, ticket purchasing details, resale ticket prices, and the concert film streaming options . You can also peruse resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

Taylor Swift international tour dates

The Eras Tour international dates resumed on May 9 in Paris. The European tour will run until August 20 in London. UK prices are listed in pounds, and start times vary from city to city. Multiple shows have age restrictions for younger kids and specifics on seating and adult accompaniment. A few venues check that a ticketholder's ID matches the name on the tickets. US dates start in October and can be found under the following table. 

Taylor Swift North American tour dates

The Eras tour will return to the US on October 18 in Miami. In addition to the Miami shows, Swift will perform multiple dates in New Orleans and Indianapolis. On November 14, Swift will head to Canada for several shows in Toronto and Vancouver. All North American shows start at 7 p.m. local time.

How to buy tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 tour

Original standard tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 sold out long ago for both international and domestic dates. All US tickets and many international tickets were sold through Ticketmaster , although select international locations used different services. 

Tickets for most dates are available on resale websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats . These are generally higher-priced than the originals, which are no longer available. Keep in mind that some countries have rules regarding reselling tickets.

On StubHub, UK tour dates come with a note that ticket terms don't permit resale through unauthorized channels and might not be valid for entry. If this ends up being the case, StubHub notes that its FanProtect Guarantee will cover purchasers.

How much are Taylor Swift tickets?

Ticket prices vary by date and location. International resale tickets tend to be a bit cheaper than US resale tickets. It's worth noting that some of the cheapest tickets have restricted views.

StubHub's cheapest European tickets ranged from $190 (Madrid, Spain, on May 29) to £954 (London, England on August 19). The latter is around $1,200 in USD. The lowest prices for most shows are around $200 to $1,000. On Vivid Seats , the cheapest tickets for these dates go for $278 and $963, respectively. 

When it comes to North American shows, the cheapest StubHub tickets range from $1,447 (Vancouver, Canada, on December 7) to $2,520 (Indianapolis, Indiana on November 2). Most of the cheapest tickets are priced between $1,500 and $2,250. On Vivid Seats, the cheapest Taylor Swift tickets on these dates start at $1,368 and $2,227, respectively. The two resale vendors generally have similarly priced offerings, but this varies from show to show.

Who is opening for Taylor Swift's tour?

Taylor Swift has a variety of opening acts, from up-and-coming singers to established groups. Opening acts vary by date. For the European leg of the tour, Paramore will open for Swift. In the US and Canada, Gracie Abrams will be the opening act. 

Will Taylor Swift add more dates to the Eras Tour?

Taylor Swift has already added additional stops to her tour due to popular demand, including her US tour dates this fall. She also added additional dates to some of her European city stops, including bonus performances in France and the United Kingdom, among other locations. It's unknown whether Swift will end up adding even more tour dates, but by the end of the upcoming US leg she will have been touring for almost two years, so fans shouldn't be surprised if she takes a break. 

Will The Tortured Poets Department be a part of the Eras Tour?

It's good news for fans of "The Tortured Poets Department," Swift's new album that dropped on April 19, 2024. Swift is incorporating several of the new tracks into the Eras Tour, as evidenced by the first shows of her European leg. "The Tortured Poets Department" songs currently featured on tour include "But Daddy I Love Him," "So High School," "Down Bad," "Fortnight," "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," and "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

Since the Eras Tour is already pretty long, this means that Swift is also cutting down a few songs from past Eras that previously made the tour setlist. The songs that were removed from the setlist include "The Archer," "Long Live," "The 1," "The Last Great American Dynasty," "'Tis the Damn Season," and "Tolerate It."

HOUSTON – Are you ready for it, H-Town?!

Taylor Swift is about to ‘Shake it off’ at NRG Stadium for her three-show series this weekend. And based on social media posts from the star , it’s beyond your “Wildest Dreams.”

Before arriving at NRG Stadium with your “Lover,” make sure you’re aware of what to expect before the show, or else there may be some “Bad Blood.”

Here’s what to expect at NRG Park this weekend:

Are tickets still available?

Don’t expect to buy tickets from Ticketmaster this week. -- The website says they are completely sold out online.

However for third-party sites such as Stubhub, Seat Geek, and Vivid Seats, you’re looking at prices of at least $600.

Parking at all NRG Park lots (Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Red, Purple) are available on a first-come, first-served basis at $40.

I’m not planning to park. How do we get to NRG?

There are ways to get to NRG without parking:

• Taxis and rideshares such as Uber and Lyft are located near Gate 2 of the Yellow Lot.
• You can also take the METRORail Red Line to the Stadium Park/Astrodome stop. Rides are $1.25 one way. Click here for more information.
• Taking your bike to NRG? There are bike racks located near the stadium. Click here for a map.

What is NRG’s bag policy?

NRG has a strict clear bag policy that allows attendees to carry a clear, plastic bag or a clutch purse into the event.

The following policy states what types of bags are approved:

• Clear plastic bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Here’s an example.
• One gallon clear plastic Ziploc bag (or similar).
• Small clutch purse no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. An example can be found here.

More than two dozen dates were revealed Tuesday morning, including April 22 at NRG Stadium. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 18 through Ticketmaster .

Fans can register online for presale access now through Nov. 9. (It's not a guarantee that you'll get tickets.) Swifties who used the Lover Fest Verified Fan will receive preferred access.

 Beabadoobee and Gracie Abrams will open the Houston show. Swift last performed in Houston in 2018 at NRG Stadium as part of the Reputation Tour.

Didn't get tickets to see Taylor Swift's Eras Tour ? No worries: It'll soon be playing in a theater near you.

A concert film documenting Taylor's record-breaking tour will be shown in thousands of movie theaters throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico starting Oct. 13, it was announced Thursday on " Good Morning America ." The movie, called "TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR," will play at least four times a day on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at every AMC theater location in the U.S., and at other movie chains across the rest of North America.

Tickets are on sale now at AMCTheatres.com , regmovies.com , Cinemark.com and Fandango.com . AMC is also going to serve as a distributor for any other movie theater operators interested in showing the movie.

Adult tickets will cost $19.89 plus tax, in honor of "1989 (Taylor's Version)," which is also coming out in October. Children's and senior tickets will cost $13.13 plus tax, in honor of Taylor's favorite number. Those prices will be good for all screenings, except for "premium large format screens," such as IMAX, which will carry an upcharge.

AMC says it has upgraded its website and ticketing systems to handle the demand. However, the company still warns of delays, long waiting times and possible outages.

In addition, no free movie passes will be accepted and AMC Stubs A-List members won't be able to use their memberships to reserve tickets. AMC is also temporarily limiting website ticketing ability for most other movies titles.

Taylor's next Eras Tour stop is Nov. 9 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The tour has shattered concert-sale records with more than 3 million fans packing arenas across the United States in the first leg in the U.S., according to the release.

Cyndi Lauper announces first major tour in over a decade. What to know

Time after time, Cyndi Lauper shows she can bring out the hits.

The singer announced on June 3 she will be performing songs from her legendary catalogue later this year on the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour," her first major tour in over 10 years.

Lauper, 70, is set to play 23 shows across North America, starting on Oct. 18 in Montreal and ending on Dec. 5 in Chicago, according to Live Nation .

The tour announcement comes ahead of the release of Lauper’s documentary, “Let the Canary Sing,” which explores her life and career. The doc premieres on Paramount+ June 4.

'Absolute chaos': Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Lisbon delayed as fans waited to enter

LISBON — Chaos and madness. Two words that fans may fit into "Blank Space" lyrics were instead two words frantic Swifties used to describe Taylor Swift’s first-ever show in Portugal.

“I’m just sad,” says Noelle Vavuris who went to the Eras Tour in Santa Clara, California, and wanted to see the new “Tortured Poets Department” addition at the Estadio da Luz. “I’ve spent thousands and thousands of dollars to see Taylor. Please. I just want to be inside.”

Vavuris lives in Amsterdam and came to the concert with three of her best friends. 

“We’ve been waiting in line for an hour and a half and we just got all the way to the stadium and then got sent all the way outside,” she says, trying to find her correct gate after multiple attempts. “We’re herded cattle. There’s absolute chaos.”

Show opener Paramore went on after 7 p.m. The tickets said the show was supposed to begin at 6 p.m. You could hear Hayley Williams singing her last song “This is Why” booming from the open-roofed stadium as Vavuris made it past security.

“There was a massive bottleneck at the security checkpoint to get rid of water bottles,” says Malika Nunes, who lives in Lisbon and was in the same line as Vavuris. “And then people were jumping over the barricade, pulling them apart. We stood behind a post."

Security opened the gates to more areas and fans ran by the hundreds to the stadium doors.

"They finally got more police and more security people," Nunes says. "There's soccer games here weekly with as many people, and those are organized. This is chaos. I've never seen anything like this."

Temperatures hovered in the mid-70s. When Swift took the stage at 8 p.m., the temperature was 66 degrees. In a last-minute change by producer Last Tour, fans were allowed to bring a plastic water bottle into the open-roofed stadium up to 50 centiliters (about 16 ounces). No glass, hard plastic or metal containers were allowed inside according to an informational packet released .

When Swift came on stage, she didn't mention the delay or the wait. Her team didn't respond to an email asking about the late start.

"This is my first time getting to come to Portugal, and this is how you welcome us," she said, and the crowd went wild. "When I first walked out in the show and I looked out and saw the crowd, you took my breath away. My heart was beating so fast. You just made me feel so loved. Thank you so much."

Gracie Abrams’ Secret Is Out, As She Announced Her ‘The Secret Of Us Tour’ With Role Model

Gracie Abrams just announced her The Secret Of Us Tour , and god, I’m actually invested . The 2024 North American tour will be in support of Abrams’ The Secret Of Us album , due out on June 21, and Role Model will serve as Abrams’ opener.

“THE SECRET OF US TOUR (pt. 1…) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Abrams wrote on Instagram on Monday morning, June 3, and the parenthetical “Pt. 1” should absolutely be noted. “I wish I could properly express how excited I am for these shows. The whole time we were writing the album, all I could think about was being in the same room as you — playing these songs, collectively screaming and dancing and also maybe crying for fun.”

The 24-year-old Grammy nominee continued, “I’ve missed it all beyond words and I’ve missed your faces like crazy, and every day I don’t spend with the band and the crew feels like being far away from home, so THANK YOU for being the reason I get to reunite with them. Truly, thank you. And then the luckiest of all is that @rolemodel will be on the road with us. We’re playing venues I’ve only ever dreamed of playing, and it’s entirely because of you. I love you, and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to tour this album.”

According to Abrams, tickets will be available through a general onsale beginning on Friday, June 7, but pre-sale tickets will begin going on sale on Tuesday, June 4, at 10 a.m. local time.

Swift will head to Lyon, France to perform at the Groupama Stadium on June 2-3 , and Swifties should get excited about how cheap tickets are.

The fact that tickets are under $100 — cheaper than the tickets for her Lisbon concerts — means that they are most likely going to sell out fast. These prices are close to Sweden’s as the biggest steals of the “Eras Tour” yet.

Throughout the “Eras Tour,” the cheapest last-minute tickets for Swift’s 2024 concerts have been on StubHub and Vivid Seats .

As of now, the cheapest ticket for Swift’s June 2 “Eras Tour” concert in France is $105 on Vivid Seats , with tickets as high as $726.

For her June 3 show, the cheapest ticket at the time of publication is $69 on Vivid Seats , with other tickets listed as high as $940.
