Hands down premier production and experience. The CubeV3 tour is unlike anything that’s been seen in the EDM show/festival community. A true original design that goes beyond a dj in front of an LED screen. I highly recommend seeming Deadmau5 on this tour and seeing the cube for yourself.

Great performance by one of the best in the business! His set was solid, with a variety of styles woven into the show. Lighting effects with the Cube were pretty awesome though they're probably designed for Joel to hide behind, jk but for real. I love the new mouse head and enjoyed the live vocalist. Wish there would have been a few more shirt options for purchase but, regardless, it was a great show! Will see him again.

It was absolutely breathtaking. While I do have ringing in my ears almost 12 hours later, it was everything I imagined it to be. 4 years of wait was perfectly done by the entire performance. The only thing I wish was different was the inclusion of merchandise. Other than that, 11/10 mau5 forever

deadmau5 announces huge London headline show

The enigmatic producer headlines O2 Academy Brixton this June.

deadmau5 has confirmed details of a huge London headline show.

The Canadian dance music producer will bring his innovative Cube v3 show to O2 Academy Brixton on Friday 26 June 2020.

The news follows the electronic music icon’s recent huge US headline tour, which included five sold out shows at the Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles and four sold out gigs at New York City’s Avant Gardner Hall.

deadmau5 first brought his state-of-the-art Cube v3 show to the UK at select festivals last summer, wowing thousands of his hugely loyal fans. The show is his most technologically advanced production to date, running on code written by deadmau5 himself.

One of the biggest and most respected producers in the genre, the musician first made huge waves in the mainstream with his 2008 critically acclaimed third studio record Random Album Title.

Some of his best-known tracks include Strobe, The Veldt, I Remember, and the platinum-selling Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff.

Most recently the musician provided the soundtrack to the 2019 Netflix thriller film Polar. 

deadmau5’s newly announced O2 Academy Brixton show will mark his first appearance at the venue in a decade. His last UK headline shows saw the electronic giant headline London’s Printworks and Manchester’s Warehouse Project.

Deadmau5 Announces UK Tour!

The Mau5 sets his sights on Glasgow, Hull and Liverpool

Canadian super producer Deadmau5 has announced a mini UK tour following his O 2 A cademy Brixton takeover, hosting shows in Glasgow, Hull and Liverpool .

These dates follow on from his O 2 A cademy Brixton shows which will see him stage 3 consecutive events in the capital on May Bank Holiday Weekend .

Grammy nominated as one of the most influential producers of 2008, Deadmau5 has gone on to become one of the most in demand electronic artistes in the world.  His BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix has become one of the most popular in ‘Essential Mix’ history and more recently this month he scooped the award for ‘Artist Of The Year’ in Urb Magazine.

As he leads into 2024 marking two decades of creating music that has made the masses move, world-renowned electronic artist deadmau5 is announcing a series of shows highlighting his tremendous career with retro5pective: 20 years of deadmau5.

For the first time ever in his touring history he will perform at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on April 27. Other retro5pective shows are set for May 2 & 3 at the Brooklyn Mirage in New York City and November 1 & 2 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

Tickets for all three sets of dates formally go on sale this Friday, February 16 at 10 am local time at https://laylo.com/deadmau5/retro5pective . Before then pre-sales with American Express for the Hollywood Bowl and Spotify FansFirst for the Brooklyn Mirage and Red Rocks are launching at 10 am local time tomorrow (February 13) at 10 am through February 15 at 10 am. Artist/local pre-sale is set for February 15 at 10 am local time.

Catering to his multi-generational fanbase, the Hollywood Bowl and Red Rocks shows will be all ages. The Brooklyn Mirage dates are 21+.

The three sets of specialty shows will highlight material from deadmau5’ illustrious career in electronic music. Beyond classic mau5 earworms “Ghost N Stuff,” “Strobe” and “I Remember,” fans will be treated to a selection of never performed before material and a visual array of mau5 visuals from performances past, and new graphics and lighting styles unique to each venue. Expect the event production to match the timeline and the cube will return to the stage.

German techno marching band MEUTE will join the retro5pective shows at the Hollywood Bowl and the Brooklyn Mirage shows with a variety of special guests planned for each date.

Deadmau5 Threatens Spotify Exit Over Daniel Ek Comments: ‘About to Pull My Catalog from These F–king Vultures’

Remember Daniel Ek’s comments about “the cost of creating content”? Following a tidal wave of related pushback from artists and fans, Deadmau5 is now threatening to pull his catalog over the remarks.

The Ontario-born DJ confirmed as much in an Instagram post, which features a screenshot of an article concerning Ek’s statement. We covered the billionaire’s ill-advised disclosure (that “the cost of creating content” is “close to zero”) and the ensuing fallout closer to June’s beginning.

Whether Deadmau5 missed the initial wave of controversy or intentionally opted against addressing the subject, he only recently let his position be known.

“Incorrect,” 43-year-old Deadmau5 wrote. “The cost of creating content was 25+ years of my life and much of those proceeds going to your company you complete f–king idiot. @spotify”

And when responding to a comment about how much fans “hate Spotify,” the seven-time Grammy nominee made clear that he may opt to remove his body of work from the platform altogether.

“I feel that,” summed up Deadmau5, “I’m about to pull my catalog from these f–king vultures, enoughs enough.”

Notwithstanding the commitment, Deadmau5’s catalog was still live on Spotify, where the producer has nearly five million monthly listeners, at the time of this writing. Worth noting is that 2023’s Kx5 , Deadmau5’s first studio album in seven years, is a collaboration with Kaskade.

Furthermore, less than one year has passed since the Pixelynx founder Deadmau5 rather directly thanked Spotify for featuring his work and logo on its “Dance Favorites” playlist; that wasn’t even the first time the electronic veteran had expressed gratitude for a promotional push from the service.

Among other things, the points appear to underscore the considerable marketing potential associated with Spotify. At the top level, the My Spotify creator, which had 615 million monthly active users as of Q1 2024 , reportedly guarantees a set number of spots on official playlists to major label acts in the appropriate licensing deals.

More significantly, said marketing potential isn’t limited to streams and listeners. Spotify and AEG are currently collaborating on a pre-sale offer around Sabrina Carpenter’s forthcoming arena tour , for instance.

In the bigger picture, Deadmau5 is hardly alone in holding a far-from-positive opinion of Spotify at present. Due to the unprecedented reclassification of Spotify’s main music packages as bundles in the U.S. – and despite the subsequent rollout of music-only plans – that long list of disgruntled parties now includes the NMPA, the MLC, and several others.

Those reclassifications have brought about a double-digit decline in Spotify’s U.S. mechanical royalty payments and, factoring for modest subscriber growth and price increases, could well cost publishers materially through 2027’s end.
