Saosin announce 2023 Asia tour — Manila, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and more

Saosin  are coming to Asia. 

On 28 December, the America rock band announced the Asia leg of their ongoing world tour. Kicking off this March, Saosin will be performing in Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Manila, Taipei, and Hong Kong.

Tickets will go on sale on 30 December at 12 PM PHT  via  SM Tickets.  Tickets are priced at  PHP 2,500 (Gen Ad)  and  PHP 3,500 (VIP) . 

Saosin will be performing all their hits across their decade-long career. The tour has brought the  'You're Not Alone'  act to various cities across the US, Europe, and Australia.

The upcoming Asia leg of Justin Bieber’s Justice World Tour has officially been postponed to next year.

The Canadian singer was set to perform at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium this October 22 as part of his tour prior to the announcement. Organiser AEG Presents Asia (AEG) via their social media shared Bieber’s announcement and confirmed that the remaining dates for the world tour are being postponed.

Saosin’s Thailand concert gets larger venue, additional Singapore show announced

The band will also perform in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Manila and more

Post-hardcore veterans Saosin are now set to play at a bigger venue in Thailand on top of announcing an additional Singapore show on their 2023 Asia tour.

Saosin’s Bangkok concert this March 21 has been moved from the Lido Connect concert hall to Budweiser Club, with tickets now available via TicketMelon at the pre-sale price of THB2,600, rising to THB3,000 at the door. Local metal band Defying Decay will support Saosin at their Thailand concert.

The group have also announced a second concert in Singapore this March 16, a day before the originally announced show date on March 17. Defying Decay will return as a supporting act at the concert, alongside special guests Tiny Moving Parts, with tickets available now via EventBrite at SGD79 during the early bird period, rising to SGD89 during pre-sale.

The band will perform in six different countries on their tour, with a previously announced appearance at the Hammersonic Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia set to take place on March 19.

The band’s other stops on their tour are a concert at Musiczone in Hong Kong on March 23, following which they head to Taipei, Taiwan’s Nuzone on March 24. Saosin will end their 2023 Asia tour with a concert at the Skydome in Manila, Philippines on March 26.

The group previously announced a Malaysia tour date set to take place on March 16, but were forced to cancel the stop due to conflicts in their touring schedule. Tour organisers Skesh Entertainment explained that the Malaysia date would cause “issues that would affect the other dates of the #SaosinAsia2023 tour”, and added that they are currently working with the band to arrange a new date in the country.

Saosin are set to join Slipknot,  Trivium ,  Black Flag , Suicide Silence, Comeback Kid,  Burgerkill  and  Deathsquad at the 2023 Hammersonic Festival, which will be the first edition of the festival to be held since 2019. Holders of tickets for the postponed 2020 edition will have their tickets honoured for the 2023 festival, and are entitled free merchandise including t-shirts, hoodies and trucker caps.

The band released their third studio album ‘Along the Shadow’ in 2016 following a three-year hiatus and the return of original frontman Anthony Green. The album included the singles ‘The Silver String’, ‘Racing Toward A Red Light’ and ‘Control and the Urge to Pray’, and was also the final album with founding guitarist Justin Shekoski, who announced his departure earlier that year.

Saosin to be joined by Cove Reber on tour for the first time in 14 years

Post-hardcore band Saosin have recently announced the details for an upcoming tour featuring vocalist Cove Reber , marking his first tour with the band after 14 years. 

The tour announcement comes following Cove's surprise return at the band's 20th-anniversary shows last year, which also featured original vocalist Anthony Green . 

The band is commemorating these upcoming shows with an upcoming 20th-anniversary live album. Additionally, it sounds like the band will be releasing a special edition of the band's self-titled album which featured Reber, also known as the "beetle record." 

The band commented:

Stoked to announce of FIRST US tour with Cove in 14 years. This band has been a long journey with many Ups and Downs, and were definitely feeling UP on being able to perform these songs again. We believe we are the best version we have ever been. What better way to kick off this 4.0 chapter than with two hometown shows in SD and POMONA, Performing a super set covering all our records over the last 20 years. We need to remember what some of these songs meant and we want you all there. This will be our first time playing San Diego since 2016 and our first time playing some of these songs since 2010. We will have some exclusive merch on location. On the east coast, We will be sprinkling in a few front to back album play throughs of the beetle record at select shows.

Saosin sounded terrible, the sound was muddy and anthony green sang the wrong parts and the bass player who sang was way off, there were cool moments however, like cove reber the old singer came onstage and sang voices and 7 years with anthony green. Overall the venue was good, the opening band was good, the second band was amazing they were mostly instremental but they kicked ass.

Was Anthony Green on the cocaine? I mean, perhaps he was just high on life... but he seemed out of sorts and a little high. Great show, regardless. I hope nobody got any germs from his microphone when he gave it to the audience.

'Twas a Friday night, I looked up as music started to play and Anthony green there the microphone stand with mic and all into the air and caught it ever so gracefully. Timing it just right to begin singing with his amazing voice as the saosin band plays ever so badassly. It only took a few moments of this organized chaos for me to think to myself, oh snap it's lit fam. Tottaly worth my $60 bucks and I didn't even care about the headliner, saosin... We dem boys... We dem.. Boys

The rock , Saosin, has made waves in the music industry, securing headlining positions on the Vans Warped Tour and boosting ticket sales. They pack clubs regularly and perform with high profile bands like AFI and My Chemical Romance. The popularity of the band is reflected by an astronomical number of song downloads via MySpace thanks to a very loyal fan base that continues to grow. The word “saosin” means “small heart” in Chinese. While the band does not exactly fit the mold of your typical rock band, they have found success in their own right by pursuing music and performing on their own terms.

Saosin Band Members

The five members of Saosin live and work in Southern California. Frontman Cove Reber performs with colleagues Chris Sorenson on bass, Alex Rodriguez on drums, and Beau Burchell and Justin Shekoski on guitar. Burchell and Shekoski are responsible for the original founding of the band; Reber is actually a new addition, following the exit of original frontman, Anthony Green, in 2005. At this point in time, the band is signed with Capitol Records, has produced an EP of demos, and initiated pre-production for a full-length album.

Capitol Records Album Debut

In September of 2006, Saosin released their first full-length, self-titled album under the Capitol Records label. Some fans wondered why the wait was so long, considering that the band released their first EP back in 2003. But singer Cove Reber explains that the band insisted on waiting until the songs felt right. They did not want to rush into anything they did not feel they had given 100 percent of their time and attention. This is in-line with the band’s refusal to adhere to a specific genre or mainstream label. Instead, they focus their energy on producing music and an album that can stand on its own merits. The band does not conform to a strict image like many young performers today. They hit the stage each night in jeans and t-shirts, letting their fans enjoy their authentic music.

With popular songs on the record like “Voices,” “It’s Far Better to Learn,” and “You’re Not Alone,” Saosin broke the mold and exceeded the rock genre expectations. Recording the album fueled Reber and band mates to start writing new material and get back on stage.

Saosin Growth and Promotion

Saosin has never been aggressive about promoting their band; instead, fans have used the Internet to get access to the Saosin music. Putting the responsibility on the fans to actively pursue the band has unified the fan base, letting the band enjoy an unprecedented loyalty from their fans. The band continues to relate to fans in unique ways, most recently by inviting fans to listen in on a recording session of their album “In Search of Solid Ground,” using a real-time Internet feed. Opening themselves up to give others a glimpse of their creativity and flow of ideas as the recording developed is what continues to attract new Saosin fans.

The band went back on tour in 2008 with Underoath as they fine tuned a new set of songs for their next recording phase. The newest Saosin album came out in 2009 and features 13 songs under the album title of “In Search of Solid Ground.” The album made its way to #7 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart and the band is enjoying this new wave of success.
