Since the lifter manufacturer says that the proper preload for the Comp 875-16 lifters is .002"-.005", saying it is wrong may be retarded. I thought it was a misprint myself, so I called Comps tech line and verified before I installed them. Comp calls for 0-1/8 turn past zero lash, which when using a standard 3/8-24 UNF stud equals 0-.005" preload.

Are your lifters comp pro magnum lifters or the short travel hyd. roller lifters , if they are , 1/8 turn is the limit anymore you'll ruin them .I found out the hard way, ignored the preload instructions that came with lifters and preloaded a 1/4 turn , one collapsed during breakin and another two months later, even though the they were readjusted correctly after first one collapsed .
