Trek alpha sizing for MTB – what is it?

The old-school approach of measuring the frame size of Trek bikes is a thing of the past. With newer inventions and modern bike geometry, alpha sizing is used in place of numeric sizing on Trek mountain bikes.

Why is alpha sizing important?

1. Easier approach

Instead of using size numbers like 19.5, the sizes can be classified into S, M, ML, L, XL, and XXL. So, someone with a 17.5 size can go for the medium and a 19.5 is a large size. You don’t have to keep a tab on numbers; instead, the alphabet makes it easier.

2. Measurement based on reach

In earlier times the frame size measurement of Trek bikes was solely based on seat tube length. Things have changed, and modern mountain bike geometry focuses more on reach as of now. Hence, alpha sizing measures what matters and is a more simplified way of measuring bike size.

Trek sizing – virtual vs actual

This can puzzle you a bit as they both are somewhat similar yet there is a subtle difference. Actual size can be termed as the overall length of the seat tube from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of the top tube intersection with the centerline of the seat tube.

On the other hand, virtual sizing is the overall length of the seat tube ranging from the center of the bottom bracket to the mid-point of the imaginary horizontal top tube in which it connects with the seat tube.

If I had to give you an example, a bike might have a virtual size of 18.5 and an actual size of 17.5. This means that the bike size feels like 18.5, but in actual sense, the frame size is 17.5. It doesn’t make much of a difference as it is there only to let you know what it is (actual size) and what it looks like in size (virtual size).

People also ask

Trek 17.5 frame size – what does it mean.

A 17.5 frame size is considered an M size (Medium) in terms of alpha sizing. Any individual who is 161-172 cm or a height of 5’3.4”-5’7.7” . If you are within this height range, going for a medium size shall be the right choice.

Trek medium frame size is for what height?

A medium size frame size (17.5) is ideal for a person with a height between 5’3.4”-5’7.7 ”. In centimeters, it is ideal for those around 161 to 172 cm in height.

Trek 24-inch bike is for what age?

When it comes to children, their bikes are measured in terms of wheel size instead of the standard frame size. These kid’s bikes have a size range between 12-26 inches, depending upon the height of the kid.

As far as a 24-inch wheel size is concerned, any kid between the ages of 8-11 can go for a fun ride with it. Some of the popular 24-inch bike models are Trek Roscoe 25, Wahoo 24, Trek Precaliber 24 , etc.

Trek 26-inch bike is for what height?

A 26-inch wheel-size bike is for kids with a height of 4’9”-5’3” (146-160 cm) . Wahoo 26 is a prime example of a bike in this category.

Trek 20-inch bike is for what age?

Trek 20-inch bikes are for children between 5 to 8 years of age. Additionally, if they are within the height of 3’9”-4’6” , it should be suitable for them.

Are Trek bikes good?

Trek bikes are considered to be extremely good and solid in build. It is known to be the number 1 performance bike brand all over the globe. Having its humble beginning in the year 1976 in Waterloo, Wisconsin, it has turned into the largest bicycle manufacturer all over the world. With an array of bikes ranging from, mountain, road, electric, and kids bikes, there is a lot to choose from a mammoth list.

How much is a used Trek bike worth?

It depends on a lot of factors in terms of how old the bike is, the year of production, which model, and a lot more. However, it can be within $1000-10,000 (depending on the model and other factors) .

Where are Trek bikes made?

The majority of their bikes are manufactured in Taiwan, China, Netherlands, and Germany too.

Why are Trek bikes so expensive?

Usually, the bike brand prefers top-tier components, suspensions, and frames that are ahead of its competitors. This results in additional costs that can be seen in the price tag and also many top-end Trek bikes are custom-made with less production, leading to being more expensive.

Trek bikes are a class apart in many ways with a range of bikes on offer for its fans across the world. Choosing the right size for you can be tricky, but this is where the Trek frame size chart comes to the rescue.

Trek as a bicycle brand might be on the costly side, but they punch above its weight to provide top-class bikes for the masses. I am always someone who roots for quality, and Trek provides what I need.

One comment

Thanks for your informative post. I really like the Trek alpha sizing for MTB because Trek frame sizes use alpha sizing rather than the usual inches or centimeters (cm), and they usually have a certain range of measurements.

Trek 4500 Mountain Bike Review: Is it worth your money?

trek 22 inch mountain bike

Mountain biking is an exhilarating and fulfilling hobby, but let’s be real, it can also be pretty expensive.

Luckily, there are plenty of great budget bikes on the market that don’t compromise on performance. Today, we’re going to take a closer look at one of those bikes – the Trek 4500 Mountain Bike.

So, if you’re in the market for a bike that won’t break the bank but still offers plenty of features and versatility, stick around for this review.

Trek 4500 MTB At A Glance

trek 22 inch mountain bike

Trek 4500 is an amazing hardtail mountain bike from Trek. It provides good riding on technical trails, and the lightweight frame makes it very convenient for beginners.

Trek 4500 inspires confidence on the trail with solid handling and durable components. It sports 26-inch tires and a suspension fork to smooth out bumps and major impacts.

It also comes with a Shimano drivetrain, a RockShox Dart 2 fork, and with sturdy double-walled rims, so you can roll over anything with confidence. Also, the hydraulic disc brakes in the later models deliver precise stopping ability.

  • High quality aluminum frame
  • Durable components
  • Reliable brakes and gears
  • Sturdy wheels and tires
  • Complex 3X drivetrain
  • Small 26-inch wheels

Unfortunately, Trek doesn’t make this bike anymore, but there are some really impressive newer models with better designs which are excellent alternatives to the 4500 Trek mountain bike.

I recommend Trek Marlin 5 and Trek Fuel EX 5 as great alternatives, you can scroll down to see our brief review of these bikes.

Trek 4500 Mountain Bike: Features and Specifications

Frame and fork.

Trek 4500 Mountain Bike is the perfect companion for beginner trail riders who want a lightweight and durable bike that can handle mountain trails with ease.

The hardtail aluminum frame makes it an excellent budget bike, with a trail-taming front suspension that absorbs impacts and road noise.

It comes equipped with a RockShox Dart 2 with 100mm travel suspension fork, which might not be the lightest, but it is super strong and very reliable.

trek 22 inch mountain bike

Actually, the Suntour XCM suspension on the Trek 4500 makes it a budget to mid-range bike that packs a punch. And the relatively tight head tube angle that offers flexible handling for easy steering and control, especially during climbs and descents.

With its great budget fork, the Trek 4500 is quite comfortable on longer rides and actually able to handle some riding on technical trails.

From my experience, the Trek 4500 is an excellent choice for beginners who want to hit the trails with confidence and style.

Gears and Brakes

Shimano is well-known for making reliable gears with smooth shifting and easy maintenance. And the Trek 4500 features Shimano components, it has the Shimano Alivio groupset.

With the Trek 4500, you get an incredible range of gearing, from low gears that smoothly take up steep climbs to a good range of high gears for fast descents.

Before this bike model was discontinued, it had many different models, and a few of its features changed with each new release. For instance, the oldest models were fitted with rim brakes, but the later models were upgraded to more reliable and effective hydraulic disc brakes.

These bikes had the Shimano M395, which have excellent stopping power and will stop on a dime even in wet conditions.

Now, whether you’re just starting out on mountain trails or you’re an experienced rider, you can trust the Shimano groupset and hydraulic disc brakes to give you the performance you need to tackle any terrain.

Wheels and Tires

If you’re looking for a mountain bike with excellent handling ability and great acceleration, then the Trek 4500 is a great choice.

4500 Trek is equipped with 26″ wheels, which are smaller than other sizes like 27.5″ or 29″, but they make up for it with their maneuverability, and you can always fit larger tires.

trek 22 inch mountain bike

The wheels are designed to be strong and durable, with 32 spokes and double-walled rims, this means that you can take on any trail without worrying about your wheels getting damaged.

Plus, it comes with Bontrager 26×2.2″ tires that provide great flexibility, but the traction is not so great. Bigger and wider tires on a mountain bike are ideal for providing traction on trails with loose dirt, and they also help to absorb shocks and bumps on the trail.

Thankfully, you can always swap the 26-inches tire on the Trek 4500 for bigger ones. However, even the small tires are not so bad. With those tires, you can actually hit the trails with confidence and take on any challenge that comes your way.

The wheels and tires of the Trek 4500 are a great combination that provides excellent handling, durability, and versatility.

Saddle and Handlebars

A good saddle and adjustable handlebars are crucial components of a mountain bike, as they can greatly impact your riding experience.

With a comfortable saddle, you can ride for long periods without experiencing discomfort, while adjustable handlebars allow you to customize your riding position to suit your preferences and riding style.

For the Trek 4500 though, the comfort of the saddle is highly subjective. Whether you find it comfortable or not depends on how it makes your backside feel. From my experience, not many people find it comfortable, but that’s not an issue because you can always install a better saddle.

And for the handlebars, Trek 4500 comes equipped with Bontrager handlebars, grips, and a stem. Its handlebar’s 31.8mm diameter and 15mm rise give it plenty of space for a comfortable grip when riding.

trek 22 inch mountain bike

These handlebars are quite impressive and provide excellent grip, even in wet or muddy conditions, and helps to absorb shocks and vibrations on the trail.

The bar’s robust design can withstand some abuse while being used on the trail. And the stem has a 10-degree rise, which provides a comfortable riding position while also keeping you in control of your bike.

The stem is also adjustable, allowing you to fine-tune your riding position for maximum comfort and performance.

Size and weight

Trek 4500 comes in a range of sizes to fit different riders, with options ranging from 13″ all the way up to 24″, you’re sure to find the perfect fit for you. The frame sizes are precisely 13.5, 15.5, 17.5, 18.5, 19.5, 21.5, 23.5″

And for the weight, the Trek 4500 is relatively lightweight for a mountain bike, with an average weight of about 30 lbs (13.6 kg). That means it’s easy to handle and maneuver on the trails without being too heavy to carry around when needed.

The maximum weight limit of 275 to 300 lbs is also good, providing plenty of support for a wide range of riders.

Ride quality and performance

The Trek 4500 is an all-around amazing bike. Its comfortable ride and great performance make it an excellent choice for any rider, regardless of skill level.

While it may not be the lightest bike on the market, it has an incredible range of gears, making it very adaptable and easy to conquer a variety of terrain.

Plus, its 26″ wheels provide excellent handling and acceleration, while the Bontrager XR2 26″ tires provide good grip in all kinds of conditions.

One of the best things about the Trek 4500 is its versatility. Whether you’re tackling light, dusty paths or hitting some loose terrain with serious speed, this bike can handle it all.

Its sturdy frame and durable components make it perfect for trail riding, while the adjustable handlebars and comfortable saddle ensure a comfortable ride.

I highly recommend the Trek 4500 for anyone looking for a mid-range bike that delivers outstanding performance at a great price. Its combination of affordability, versatility, and quality makes it an excellent investment for anyone who loves mountain biking.

Best Trek 4500 Mountain Bike Alternatives

As Trek doesn’t make the 4500 mountain bikes anymore, you cannot buy them brand new. But, you will find even better performing Trek mountain bikes with more advanced features and superior build quality.

If you absolutely want a Trek bike, then I recommend the Trek Fuel EX 5 or the Trek Marlin 5 as great alternatives for the Trek 4500. But if you’re willing to try a different brand, then the Schwinn Bonafide is a great choice with a much lower price tag.

Trek Fuel EX 5

trek 22 inch mountain bike

Fuel EX 5 is a very efficient full-suspension trail bike that’s ready to handle the most rugged mountain terrains. It’s built for speed, with a sturdy chassis and supportive front and rear suspension to give you loads of support on both climbs and descents.

The Trek Fuel EX 5 stands out as a high-value, high-performance mountain bike with remarkable adaptability. It’s fitted with a Shimano 1×12 drivetrain, a dropper post for getting low on descents, and hydraulic disc brakes.

As a heavy trail-rider, this bike most likely checks all the boxes on your wishlist for a new bike. It’s a sure-footed bike that delivers better stability and control. And more importantly, it’s a fun bike to ride.

Trek Marlin 5

trek 22 inch mountain bike

Trek Marlin 5 is a trail mountain bike that’s built to gracefully handle daily adventures on rough terrains. It has a lightweight aluminum frame with a 2×8 drivetrain for smooth riding and shifting and powerful hydraulic disc brakes which provide fast and precise stopping.

While the Marlin 5 is made for trail riding, it’s also versatile and can double as a commuter bike. This bike has a stunning frame with internal routing for the brake and shift cables, which can extend the lifespan of your wires by shielding them from the environment.

It’s the perfect bike for new trail riders and comes in seven frame sizes to fit riders of all heights. Marlin 5 is elegant and comfortable, with a ton of features that are typically reserved for more pricey bikes.

Schwinn Bonafide MTB

Schwinn Bonafide Men and Women Mountain Bike, Front Suspension, 24-Speed, 29-Inch Wheels, 17-Inch Aluminum Frame, Matte Black/Red

The Bonafide MTB is another great bike from Schwinn. It’s a mid-range bike with interesting features and an affordable price tag.

The Schwinn Bonafide MTB gives you a pleasant and reliable riding experience with its aluminum mountain frame and sturdy suspension fork that absorbs bumps and big hits.

As a hardtail mountain bike, it’s designed for the trail with large 29″ knobby tires and durable alloy rims. The alloy rims increase longevity without adding extra weight, while the mechanical disc brakes offer precise stopping on the trail.

The gear shifting is smooth and seamless, thanks to the 24-speed trigger shifters and front and rear derailleurs. This bike is fun and easy to ride, which makes it great for heavy riders.

Finally, is Trek 4500 mountain bike a good buy?

Well, that’s my review of the Trek 4500 Mountain Bike. I hope you found it helpful in making your decision. I know that mountain biking can be an expensive hobby, but the Trek 4500 provides a lot of value for the price.

It’s versatile, sturdy, and has a great set of features that make it a great bike for a variety of riders. So, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly mountain bike that can handle a range of terrain, the Trek 4500 might just be the bike for you.

You likely won’t find a brand-new Trek 4500, but the alternative options included above are really great choices.

Trek 29er Mountain Bikes

  • Bicycling Catalog
  • 29-Inch Wheel (29ers)

What is a 29er?   29er refers to a mountain bike wheel size standard that measures (with tires mounted) about 29 inches in diameter.  It's currently the largest standard wheel size available. 29ers are crazy fast because the bigger wheels cover more ground with every single pedal stroke.  Big wheels also create a shallow approach angle when riding over obstacles making it easier to keep speed through those white-knuckle techy sections.  Plus, more tire tread contacting the ground provides better-than-ever traction.

Who is it for?  29ers are by far the most popular wheel size used on Ogden trails.  They're found on the most popular bikes we sell like the Trek Fuel EX.  They make riding a bike off-road easier.  Any rider who wants a smoother, faster, more stable ride with more traction should test ride a 29er.

Feel like 29ers are a bit too much to handle? No worries, check out our inventory of Trek 27.5-inch bikes.

Comparison with Other Bikes

In this comparison section, you'll learn how the Trek 7100 stacks up against mountain, road, and other hybrid bikes.

Trek 7100 and Mountain Bikes

The Trek 7100 is not a full-blown mountain bike, but its suspension fork offers some capabilities for off-road use.

Here are some key differences between the Trek 7100 and typical mountain bikes:

  • Suspension: The Trek 7100 features a suspension fork for added comfort, while mountain bikes usually have more advanced front and rear suspensions for rough terrain.
  • Tires: Mountain bikes have wider, knobbier tires designed for better grip on dirt and rocks, while the Trek 7100 has narrower tires geared toward street and light trail use.
  • Weight: Mountain bikes can be heavy due to their durable construction and suspension systems. The Trek 7100, with its lightweight aluminum frame, is lighter, making it easier to maneuver and ride uphill.

Trek 7100 and Road Bikes

While the Trek 7100 Hybrid is suitable for pavement, it's not as specialized as a road bike. Here's how they differ:

  • Riding position: Road bikes are more aggressive for better aerodynamics and power transfer. The Trek 7100 offers an upright riding position for comfort and improved visibility in traffic.
  • Speed: Road bikes are designed for maximum speed, often having lighter frames, narrower tires, and a more aerodynamic body. The Trek 7100 is slower, but it provides a more comfortable ride for commuting and casual use.
  • Tire clearance: Road bikes have limited tire clearance, restricting their ability to handle gravel or dirt surfaces. The Trek 7100 can accommodate wider tires for more versatility.

Trek 7100 and Hybrid Bikes

Comparing the Trek 7100 to other hybrid bikes, you'll find it a reliable and comfortable option. Here are some key aspects worth considering:

  • Frame geometry: The steep head tube angle of the Trek 7100 allows for slightly faster rides on both uphill and downhill commutes compared to other hybrid bikes.
  • Comfort: The Trek 7100's sit-to-stand riding position, soft seat, and subtle chain sound are great for casual or longer commutes on bike paths.
  • Price: The Trek 7100 offers a budget-friendly price tag while providing high-quality components and a durable aluminum frame.

Trek 7100 vs. Trek Dual Sport

As a fellow hybrid bike, the Trek Dual Sport is worth mentioning. Though both are versatile options, Trek Dual Sport leans more towards off-road capabilities with its more aggressive tread pattern, hydraulic disc brakes, and advanced front suspension fork.

Here’s a table comparing Trek 7100 and Trek Dual Spot.

Suitability for Different Users

The Trek 7100 is a versatile hybrid bike that caters to various users, including commuters and off-road adventurers.

Commuters' Experience

As a daily commuter, you need a reliable, smooth-riding bike that can handle city streets and provide optimal comfort. The Trek 7100's lightweight aluminum frame makes it easy to maneuver in traffic, and the upright riding position ensures a comfortable commute.

With a wide range of gears, the hybrid bike lets you navigate hills effortlessly, making it a popular choice for those who commute to work regularly.

Ride Comfort

The bike's suspension fork absorbs bumpy roads, while the webspring saddle provides a soft seat for longer rides. To further enhance your commuting performance, the 700 x 35c tires balance grip, durability, and low rolling resistance.

Convenience Features

The Trek 7100 has a rear rack for carrying your belongings, making it a practical choice for commuters. Additionally, it's easy to attach additional accessories like fenders or a bike lock.

All in all, the Trek 7100 offers an enjoyable commuting experience that makes it suitable for city streets, bike paths, and even light trails.

Off-Road Adventures

While the Trek 7100 is not a full-fledged mountain bike, it does offer decent off-road performance for casual woodland trails and outdoor excursions. Its suspension fork offers improved traction and handling, while the aluminum frame keeps the weight low for better maneuverability.

Tire Performance

The bike comes with 700 x 35c tires, which provide an adequate grip on loose gravel and dirt surfaces. However, for more aggressive off-road riding, consider upgrading to wider or knobbier tires.

Terrain Capability

Although it can't compete with dedicated mountain bikes on challenging terrain, the Trek 7100 can handle moderate trails, making it a great option for casual off-road riders.

Here’s a table comparing commuter experience and off-road adventure.

Very happy with my new M7 and wife's Moscow Plus

We purchased the NCM Moscow 29 E bike from Leon Cycles earlier this month. Communication was via 'Whatsapp' which I initially thought a little odd but worked out well. Once communication established the transaction was completed quickly and easily. We were able to arrange for the team to assemble the bike for us and we picked it up from the warehouse without an issue. We love the bike and are continuing to find new places to discover using it. Competitive price and great service.

I ordered the bike 4 days ago and today it arrived. Now my first impressions: it is easy to assemble, looks great, is cleanly finished and after a first short driving test I have to say, the hammer. It's totally easy to drive. If it stays that way, I can only say thank you Leon Cycle. Now I can cycle again, despite knee problems. Price-performance top

Great bike, this is my second e bike and by far the best. Watching e bikes over the last 10 years I think the Moscow 29er is fantastic. I live in the Dandenongs outside Melbourne with big steep hills and the Moscow takes them all on with great pulling power and gear range. 48v with 16 amps means over 750 watts of power. The bike is big and serious so getting on and off can be tricky but you do get used to it. With the previous bike (36v at 8amps) I was scared of running out of battery on a big hill and having to push the bike home but not with the Moscow. Also if you take the front wheel off you can get it in a hatchback like my Mazda 3 Which is nice. At $2200 it is a great buy.

Purchased two Moscow 27.5. One for my wife, one for me. Fast delivery, well boxed and easy assembly. Absolutely FANTASTIC to ride and use. Great range, and enough power for steep hills and tough terrain. I highly recommend them. Exactly as advertised and brochure. Looked at many options from other suppliers but these are the best value for money. If anyone wants a little extra range and a few more features then a Moscow Plus may suit. 48 Volt is the way to go. Great support and assistance from the team at Leon to make the right purchase decision. Hope other people may enjoy the ride and quality product. Harry G

I like my mountain plus bike. The only problem i have, the third speed jump when i put some pressure . Its not an adjustement, everything is fine. The problem is with the freewheel .I did 70 kilometer with the bike and it attenuate the problem a little.

Bike assembled easy and ride good.

Leeds Bikes

A Beginner’s Guide to the Perfect Electric Bike Tire Pressure

e-bike tire pressure

There is a huge amount of debate around how to get the ideal e-bike tire pressure. Optimum pressure varies due to a number of factors, and because of this, there are no fixed rules. Keep in mind, the same physics and factors that apply to regular bicycles also apply to electric bikes , and there are certain guidelines that you can follow to approximate the correct pressure for an electric bike wheel. From there you can make adjustments to fine tune it.

The Effects of Tire Pressure

Physics tells us that more pressure will allow a bicycle to roll faster because the tire will deform less and have a smaller footprint on the road, both of which lead to less rolling resistance. While this is true, it is only true on a perfectly smooth road. Unfortunately, the reality is that road surfaces vary greatly, and they are rarely smooth at all.

Studies have found that decreasing pressure can actually increase speed, as small bumps are absorbed by the e-bike tires instead of reaching the actual bike. Perception of speed is increased with higher pressure because more vibrations reach the rider, making them feel like they are moving faster.

The effect is easy to understand if you have ever ridden a mountain or off-road bike with tires pumped up hard. Every bump on the trail is transferred to the rider. While a hard tire has a smaller footprint and will indeed accelerate faster, mountain bikers need a lower pressure so that the bigger tire footprint can conform to the trail and give more grip, especially when cornering.

Although there is no one ideal bike tire pressure, you can get close to what you need by considering the following factors and steps below:

More weight pushing down on the e-bike tires will compress the air inside more. The more that the rider and bicycle weigh, the more pressure is needed to counter the effect of this compression. If you are a petite rider, then you will need a much lower pressure in comparison to a larger cyclist.

Road cyclists need the highest tire pressure for their electric city bikes . Trekking cyclists or “bike packers” (similar to backpacking but with a bicycle) riding on fire trails will need a lower tire pressure, and mountain bikers need even less.

Rough terrain will require road cyclists to use a lower pressure to avoid vibrations that cause hand fatigue. Likewise, when riding off-road, a higher pressure is more suitable for hard-packed surfaces than loose sand or loam, which require a lower pressure. Keep in mind that, if your tire pressure is too low, it can cause snakebite punctures when riding off-road.

If the surface is wet, the ideal bike tire pressure will be much lower. This increases the e-bike tire’s footprint and grip. This applies to road and off-road cycling. A tire pressure that is too high is often the primary cause for crashing when road conditions are wet.

Tire Volume and Rim Width

As tire volume increases, lower pressure will be needed to get the same ride feel. The same applies to rim width. Mountain bike rims have become wider in the last few years. A wider rim allows a tire to have a greater surface volume, which grips the road better.

How to Get the Ideal Tire Pressure

  • The minimum and maximum pressure should be visible on the side of the tire. Although this is a guideline, you should not exceed the maximum. Refer to the manufacturer’s website for an approximate pressure according to your body weight, and use this as a starting point. Make adjustments according to the above considerations.
  • Get a small portable pressure gauge and inflate your tires to the correct pressure on longer rides or regular commutes.
  • Go for a ride. Take a pump and your pressure gauge with you. If you are riding on the road and notice lots of vibration, release five psi of pressure, and try again. If you are riding off-road and notice your tires bouncing off stones and roots, you should also release five psi. On the other hand, if you notice that your rim is hitting objects as you ride over them, you have far too little pressure in your tires.
  • Experiment with different pressures. If you use a GPS tracker, you can see how different tire pressures affect your speed. You can ride a short section of trail many times. Start with a low pressure, and add five psi each time until the tire starts bouncing off objects. Where did it feel best? Which pressure gave you the best grip in the corners? How does this change with different surfaces?

Be Prepared to Adjust the Pressure

While there is no perfect tire pressure, it is certainly worth taking the time to play around with it and find what pressure works best for you and your style of riding. Bear in mind that, as soon as you are riding on a different road surface or different kind of soil, the pressure you need will change. The same is true if it starts raining during a ride. The more you experiment with tire pressure, the more accurately you will be able to judge which pressure is right for you in every scenario.

At the end of the day, it costs nothing to inflate your tires a bit more or let out some air, so get out there and find the pressure that works best for you!

You’ll find the  dual-battery model down to the second-lowest  $1,699 rate . It should also be noted that you’ll automatically see the discounted rate once the e-bike and the accessories have been added to your cart.

The  Lectric XPedition e-bike  was designed for those who are always on the go – especially folks like parents dropping off and picking up their kids from school or delivery drivers who need long travel ranges. It comes equipped with an upgraded 750W rear hub-motor (1310W peak) alongside a 48V battery that carries the e-bike up to 75 miles on a single charge (150 miles with  dual-battery ), hitting speeds of 20 MPH using only the throttle and up to 28 MPH with the five levels of pedal assistance. It comes with a variety of features to enhance your ride: the integrated cargo rack, custom puncture-resistant tires, hydraulic mineral oil brakes paired with 180mm rotors, a headlamp, taillights, fenders on both wheels, and a backlit LCD display that gives you all the real-time performance data.

Rad Power RadRunner 2 Utility e-bike now $1,299

Rad Power Bikes has launched a  flash sale through May 8  that is giving you three varying deals on three different e-bike models; either a $100 off discount or free accessories. The first of these deals is on the  RadRunner 2 Utility e-bike for  $1,299 shipped . Usually fetching $1,399 since the company lowered prices  across its lineup of models , we’ve seen this e-bike included in most of the company’s holiday sales as well as several flash sales throughout the months, often falling to $1,299, but we have seen one instance of the price dropping further to the $1,199 low. Today’s deal is a solid $100 markdown off the going rate that lands at the second-lowest price we have tracked.

Carrying the mantle as Rad Power’s jack-of-all-trades model, the  RadRunner 2  comes equipped with a 750W brushless-geared hub motor and 672Wh battery that propels it to a max speed of 20 MPH and travels up to 50 miles on a single charge. It features a four-level pedal assist with a low-profile cadence sensor, and a simple control panel that gives you the battery’s charge level and allows you to adjust pedal assistance settings. It also comes stocked with a rear-mounted cargo rack that offers a 120-pound payload, puncture-resistant fat tires, a standard LED headlight, and an integrated taillight with both brake light and flash mode capabilities.

The second deal is on the  RadRunner 3 Plus for  $2,099 , which comes with a free accessory worth up to $100. This model comes with a 750W rear hub motor and 672Wh battery that hits a max speed of 20 MPH for 45+ miles on a single charge. It has been upgraded with one extra pedal assist level and offers much of the same array of features as the above deal, with the added bonus of fenders for both tires and a full digital display.

The  RadTrike e-tricycle  is also receiving a free accessory as part of this sale, albeit a pre-designated large basket for front-side mounting for  $1,599 . It comes with an equally powerful motor as the above models, but with a smaller 480Wh battery that only reaches a max speed of 14 MPH for a much longer 55+ miles of travel range on a single charge. You’ll also get the full list of features from the above deal as well to round out the package.

This  flash sale will continue through May 8 , with the discounts on the RadRunner 3 Plus and RadTrike being automatically applied in cart when you add both items to your cart. You can  browse through Rad Power’s included accessories here . And head over to our  Green Deals hub  to look through all the other e-bike brands that are having spring sales, as well as deals on power stations, electric tools, water heaters, and more.

Three different frames with the EVOLV PRO V2 Electric Scooter against the night sky with city skyline in background, within post for Lectric 5-year anniversary sale that has the XPedition Cargo e-bike at $1,399

EVOLV PRO V2 Electric Scooter hits $1,799 low

EVOLV is offering a $200 off special on two of its electric scooter models, like the popular  PRO V2 Electric Scooter for  $1,799 shipped ,  after using the on-page promo code  PROV2-ROCKS  at checkout.  Down from its $1,999 price tag, we’ve seen a few different discounts drop over the last year on this particular model since its release, all of them falling to the same $1,799 low during major holiday shopping events like Black Friday and Christmas sales. Today’s deal is no different, coming in as a solid $200 markdown that lands at the lowest price we have tracked.

The  PRO V2 e-scooter  comes equipped with dual 1,200W motors (2,600W peak) and a 52V battery that carries the scooter up to a max speed of 44 MPH for up to 37 miles on a single charge. You can also upgrade to the  Pro-R V2 model  for an additional $300 ($500 normally – the above promo code works for this upgraded model as well), boosting your motors to 1,400W of nominal power each and extending travel distance up to 50 miles on a single charge. They both feature front and rear spring suspension, front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, a front fender light, a taillight, running lights, turn signal lights, an IP54 water-resistance rating, and a smart center display – all with a foldable design for easy storage and transport when not in use.

The second model included in this special sale is the  CORSA Electric Scooter for  $2,635 shipped ,  after using the on-page promo code  CORSA-ROCKS  at checkout.  This model also sports dual 1,200W motors (but with a 4,800W peak) and a larger 60V battery that hits 44 MPH for up to 37 miles on a single charge. It comes with 11-inch tubeless street-style grippy tires, front and rear shock suspension, dual hydraulic disc brakes, twin Halo LED headlights, in-deck lighting, twin LED taillights, turn signal lights, and a large center display.
