An attractive motorhome with a wonderful ambience.

Modern interior design; generously equipped

Small washroom; small rear bed; awkward, uncomfortable lounge bed

There’s a half-dinette with a side-facing sofa, and a large table (98 x 60cm) that extends to 128 x 60cm in order to provide table space for those in the side-facing seat and the driver’s swivelled seat. The table extends via a pull-out mechanism: just press a lever under the table, pull on it, and an additional piece rises from under the tabletop to pop into place. There are two windows on either side of the lounge and an electrically operated rooflight for natural light.

Equipment-wise, the living area comes loaded with a 15-in flatscreen television, a radio/CD/DVD player and rear heat exchanger – not bad.

One intriguing aspect of the lounge is the pull-out raised floor section that lives under the side-facing dinette seat. Because the seat is so high, most will find sitting there a little uncomfortable because their legs will dangle in mid-air – hence the pull-out floor-raiser. Why not just raise the whole floor, you ask? Well, since this is such a low ’van (at 2.65m), that would restrict headroom. It also has a fancy flatscreen TV mount that rests against the ceiling when not in use.

The kitchen is L-shaped, with lots of counter space, a decent-sized sink, an oven/grill and loads of storage space. The giant tambour-doored cupboard that opens to reveal pull-out dish racks is a particularly nice touch. Sadly, the three-burner hob is narrow and set a little too close to the kitchen window for our liking. Also, it lacks an extractor fan.

The Sun Ti has one of the smallest washrooms we’ve seen in this price range but it’s not prohibitively tiny. There’s enough legroom around the toilet, although the tambour-doored shower stall, which is backed into a corner, can be a bit of a squeeze. There’s a good-sized mirror which doubles as a toiletries cabinet but space inside is a little tight. Also, it has only one hook and no rooflight/ventilator, while the window pane is not frosted.

The rear-corner double bed is not the biggest but does the job, and there are two reading lamps as well as a panoramic bedside window. The design of the all-important lounge bed is not so great, however. Making it up involves a complicated, awkward operation that begins with the lowering of the lounge table, which is a very heavy one.

The large wardrobe comes with a separate space beneath it and is handily positioned outside the washroom, opposite the bed. The door is concave to prevent its intrusion on movement through the ’van, but this doesn’t compromise the space too much. Meanwhile the extra storage space under the main bed, accessible from both outside and inside, is more roomy than you might expect.

Hi, We have yet to purchase a motorhome and are currently looking around at the different makes/models. We would like a coachbuilt , 6 berth fixed rear double bed with a garage and have got our list down to 3; Burstner Levanto A 640 G Knaus Sport Traveller 700DG Dethleffs Advantage A 6971 DB Does anyone own a Sport Traveller or have any advice? No knowledge of the Sport Traveller but we bought a Sun TI from Lowdhams, Huddersfield last year and have been more than happy with it so far. The base vehicle is a Renault Master which I think is also on the Sport and it is a great drive as you will no doubt have read in various reviews. This is our 1st MH so we have nothing to compare it with but the Knaus build quality seems VG and apart from a couple of minor issues which the dealer quickly sorted it has been great. Brian

We have the Sport Traveller 605DKG (6 berth but bunks at the back) and we love it. You would not be disappointed with the quality of the fittings and the thought that has been put into the design. Lots of sensible storage, room to get around even though there are 5 of us - we're very pleased  

Hello Claire & Matt We had an 02 Knaus 708g Traveller, very well built vans. Up there with all the top German built mh's.  

Hi I have just picked up our Sport Traveller 700DG from Joeressens in Germany and can only echo (with all the enthusiasm of the first flushes of van worship) the quality, thoughtful design, great drive and attention to detail of it. It is our first motorhome and for us the layout is perfect (we have three kids - 5, 3 and 1). I would thoroughly recommend both the model and dealer.

mrcanny so glad you like your new Knaus - we have had our Knaus SunLiner 658LG for 11 weeks - bought from Lowdhams Nottingham. Full marks to Knaus and Lowdhams ( Especially Chris Gage, Mick and Paul in the service centre for all their help!) It has rained for 10 of the last 11 weeks and the van has been superb - no leaks and the layout makes it easy for 2 people to live in it at close quarters! The build quality is superb! We've done about 2,000 miles so far and it's great to drive. Hopefully we'll meet you on our travels - the only Knaus we've seen so far was a Swiss registered one in The New Forest. Marie and Rex  

Thanks Marie & Rex. My feelings echo yours. We have just come back from Spain (we had planned to be gone for good but my wife had to return for a hospital check up so we all came back) and the van was superb throughout the whole trip. The kids had a ball and loved being in the van whether travelling or not. I'm delighted with the purchase and will now take the opportunity to read through all the manuals and find out the stuff I didn't get chance to before we left. The build quality is superb but we did have one problem whilst in Northern Spain. The Heki rooflight started leaking water. Luckily we were very close to a Knaus dealer who took the whole thing off to find the factory had not fitted sealant on a small part of the outer, leaving a gap through which water could enter. The dealer was fantastic, took everything apart, resealed it and said they would sort it out with Knaus in Germany. They were originally going to charge me and ask me to claim it back from the German dealer I bought from but with a bit of Spanish and some praise for the Basque country, I managed to get away without having to pay. Overall, a fabulous trip and the pre-purchase research was all worth it as our van is the ideal layout for us and three little 'uns. A big thanks to everyone on MHF as I wouldn't have had nearly enough info to make an informed choice without you.

The contents of persistent organic pollutants (POPs)—polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and organochlorine pesticides (OCPs)—in the natural environments of an industrial city (Bratsk) of Irkutsk oblast have been studied. Features of the spatial and seasonal distribution of the PCBs and OCPs in the soils and the atmospheric air have been revealed. The structure of the homological and congeneric composition of the PCBs in the soils and the atmospheric air has been shown. Parameters of the carcinogenic and noncarcinogenic risks for human health from the impact of the PCBs and OCPs present in the soils and the atmospheric air have been determined.
