I took my wife for a short break, just 4 nights, to take a break and just chil. We both wished we had booked for longer. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and this continued the whole time we were there. Nothing was too much, staff in the restaurant, bars and the gym were fantastic; friendly, interesting, helpful, accommodating and warm. If you intend to go to Morrocco, don't miss the experience !!! Big shout to all the staff, especially, Ibrahim, my funny mate in the bar and my "nephew"

We really enjoyed our time at Be Live. The facilities are totally spotless, the rooms are lovely, the (slightly heated) pool area is spacious and comfortable, and the staff are always eager to help. The food isn’t bad for a hotel of this caliber, though vegetarians will not find much to eat here besides side dishes. (The a la carte restaurant is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays - make sure to book the day before on each day.) As others have noted, the music in the pool area is too intrusive and definitely not suited for the ~50 year old median age of the hotel guests. (Maybe play 70s/80s hits instead of club music and hiphop?) The entertainment staff is terrific but almost too eager and distracting for guests who are there to relax in the pool area. The lack of seats and ambiance in the indoor area needs to be addressed. There are very few seats for those that want to relax and drink and chat after the sun goes down. The space is just an extension of the lobby - cold, uninviting and lit like a supermarket. Why not dim the overheads and use those unplugged lamps scattered all over the space? It would make a world of difference, try it :) Other than these points, it’s a nice hotel for the price (Fleetway had an amazing all inclusive deal) and we had a great time overall. Make sure to check out the “Sweet Little Variety Show” that the staff puts on on Saturday, it really warms the heart <3

Great few days in Marrakech, at the Belive Hotel . The staff are very friendly in all departments, from reception to entertainment. Niko the entertainments manager was full of enthusiasm and the food and beverage manager and his staff served us with smiles and humour. Reception were very helpful and the trips we took were very good. We will certainly return.

Stayed end of Feb. Didn’t have the best start: after a long wait at the airport & a transfer problem, we (and 2 other couples) arrived at the hotel at 11pm, to find they could offer no food whatsoever. Walked to our room to find the keys (that should’ve just been programmed & kept away from a mobile phone I add) didn’t work. Security noticed us & radioed a member of staff to come to the room - to what we thought was to give us new keys. 10 minutes later & a member of staff came just to let us in & said we would have to get our own keys from reception... There was no toilet paper in the bathroom & an empty water bottle was on the shelf above the toilet. Only shampoo and soap were available in the bathroom (we brought toiletries anyway) but noticed on the 2nd day they did give us some shower gel. Room decor was nice & modern - we had a double room. No iron available in the room but if you ask they will deliver you one (we had to wait a while, think they forgot the first time) Housekeeping will take the iron out when they clean so ensure you iron all you need! Public areas- again decor was nice & the level of cleanliness was exceptional. Food in buffet restaurant- we were unable to get booked in for the A La Carte Restaurant which was a shame. Breakfast- not much of a hot selection but pancakes were nice & lots of continental options. Lunch- found service was most attentive at this time. However, not much of a variation between lunch & dinner options. Steak, rice, chips, turkey stew... that type of thing offered. There are two coffee machines that are easy to use & offer a variation of coffees as well as hot chocolate. There are also soft drink machines and a mint tea station so the majority of drinks are ‘help yourself’. Bottled water will be poured for you at lunch and dinner and so will wine if requested. Pool/snack bar - this bar offered made to order food between 10-6pm which was great and not often found at all inclusives! You could grab an omelette or pastries if you missed breakfast or get some lunch - they did burgers/paninis/pizza etc. A variety of drinks are offered- although we found different bar tenders make certain cocktails in different ways and different ingredients! Pool - kept clean and even in Feb wasn’t too cold. Sun beds were a plenty and umbrellas too. Sometimes there was a DJ playing music other times just a playlist. Found the DJ would often switch songs half way through or talk over the majority of the song. Reception- found it odd that at the busiest times there was the one female receptionist on but then at the quieter times there would be two male receptionists! The poor girl would be very busy at times, she is trying her hardest and should be recognised for this. Free shuttle bus into Marrakech- this was great although it wasn’t made clear that we needed to book. Luckily whilst waiting in the queue for something else, we saw others booking in. Lobby bar - this was the best bar and drinks were served and made properly here. Now and again they would play music but it was the same three songs over and over again! Great service though.

Speaking in the round the experience was average. The food, room, waiting staff, security staff, entertainment team and general cleanliness were all superb. The waiters would practice Arabic/Moroccan with us and were good humoured - as were the entertainment team. The animal sanctuary was great, and the gym - inc. the gym supervisor. Certain functions of the hotel were exceptionally short staffed due to poor strategic management - peak demand planning and programming. Accordingly, a small minority of staff were resentful at being overworked particularly in the lobby bar: when I asked for a third drink of the evening one bar tender abruptly suggested that I should go to bed (22:00, 04/03/18)! Upon arrival there was a large queue at reception, which meant nothing was explained to us and we missed our entitled ticket to the al a cart restaurant. This hotel professes to be 4 star: to achieve that, in reality, there is work to be done. Overall belive is a good hotel, with a few small, but fundamental, elements letting it down.

Motorcoach Tours depart from Daniel’s Discovery Tours, 4336 Cornelia Hwy., Lula, GA, approximately 10 miles north of Gainesville, GA in Hall County. If you don’t live near our Tour Depot, ask us about our special pre-night offer and we can book a hotel for you close by. Free parking is available at our Tour Depot for the duration of your tour. Our Tour Depot in Lula is only staffed during tour departures and arrivals.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
