Dance Gavin Dance Parts Ways With Lead Singer Tilian Pearson Again

The post-hardcore band Dance Gavin Dance announced on Monday it has parted ways once again with lead singer Tilian Pearson after his 12-year run in the band, and the group will move forward without him.

Pearson has been the clean vocalist for the band since 2012, following Jonny Craig’s second departure from the group. Together, Pearson and Dance Gavin Dance have released six albums: “Acceptance Speech,” “Instant Gratification,” “Mothership,” “Artificial Selection,” “Afterburner” and “Jackpot Juicer.”

Pearson also released a statement on Instagram stating how even though his time in the band is over, he will continue to release music and is working on his solo project, “Tilian.” His last solo album was “Factory Reset” in 2021.

“Now It’s time for a new chapter. I will be focusing on making new music on a different canvas. I’m currently in the studio perfecting a new Tilian album and will be playing live shows to support it later this year.”

Pearson previously stepped away from Dance Gavin Dance due to sexual misconduct allegations and substance abuse problems in June 2022. After receiving treatment, he was welcomed back in November 2022.

Dance Gavin Dance most recently finished touring the “Jackpot Juicer” album in November 2023. Their last single with Pearson was “War Machine” was released in October 2023.

Dance Gavin Dance removed from Coheed And Cambria tour following sexual assault allegations

Dance Gavin Dance say they remain committed to releasing and touring their upcoming 10th album without singer Tilian Pearson

Dance Gavin Dance will no longer open for Coheed And Cambria ’s upcoming North American tour, the latter announced June 8 after allegations of sexual misconduct were made against the former band’s singer Tilian Pearson.

In a statement shared on social media, Coheed And Cambria said their decision came “after much internal conversation and consideration”. They wished Dance Gavin Dance “healing and strength” – after the allegations against him surfaced, Pearson was said to be “stepping away from the band in order to seek professional help” – and and have since confirmed that Alkaline Trio will be joining the tour as an opening act.

The tour, announced back in February and dubbed ‘A Window Of The Waking Mind’, will see Coheed And Cambria take on 25 cities across the US and Canada, running from Tuesday July 12 (when they play in Florida) to Wednesday August 17 (when they wrap up in Oregon). Oklahoma pop artist Mothica will still perform on every stop of the tour, which comes in support of Coheed And Cambria’s upcoming ‘Vaxis II’ album.

The first allegations against Pearson surfaced on June 1, when a woman claimed on Reddit that she’d been “preyed upon” by the singer across several interactions. Pearson responded to her allegations directly , writing in a statement of his own that “every sexual act was purely consensual”.

A second allegation was made on June 2, when another Reddit user claimed that Pearson forced her into sex. Pearson also responded to that user’s allegation, again stating that he felt their encounter to be “a consensual experience” and claiming he would “be entering an intensive therapy program to address this issue head on”.

Several more allegations have been made on social media, however Pearson has not responded directly to any others. June 4 saw Dance Gavin Dance release a statement that read: “The recent allegations against Tilian are something we take very seriously, and we have been in deep discussion regarding the appropriate action.”

Though they noted that Pearson was “stepping away from the band” to seek therapy, they did not confirm whether his departure would be permanent. The band stressed that they “will continue on with all currently scheduled tours”, and reaffirmed plans to move ahead with the release of their 10th studio album, ‘Jackpot Juicer’, on July 29.

“We all worked incredibly hard on this album,” they wrote, “and it is also the last recorded body of work from [bassist Tim Feerick, who died in April ] – we want to be sure we give it the full release attention that it deserves to honor his legacy. We know that this is a very upsetting situation for all those affected, and we ask people to please be as understanding as possible while everyone works through this.”

Dance Gavin Dance shared another statement on June 8, alerting fans that they would continue to release “videos, promo photos, and upcoming magazine features” that featured Pearson. “You have a choice in what you support, purchase and listen to,” they wrote. “We hope that you still choose to support us.”

Dance Gavin Dance Reveal Revised Touring Lineup for Newly Announced Summer Tour

It's been a tumultuous year for Dance Gavin Dance , but the band is forging ahead with plans to tour this summer, announcing their "An Evening With Friends" run that will kick off in late July. The tour comes in support of their upcoming album, Jackpot Juicer , which is on schedule for a July 29 release.

As stated, the band has had to adapt on the fly this year. Back in April, their bassist Tim Feerick died unexpectedly, but the group decided to push forward with their Swanfest festival as well as their immediate tour dates. Then, earlier this month, sexual assault allegations arose against singer Tillian Pearson. The vocalist initially issued his response, and not long after the band announced that Pearson would be "stepping away" from the band to seek out professional help. In the aftermath, the group was dropped from their touring plans with Coheed and Cambria.

The remaining members of the band - unclean vocalist Jon Mess, guitarist Will Swan, drummer Matt Mingus and guitarist Andrew Wells - revealed at the time that they still intended to release their forthcoming album and tour in support of it.

At the time they stated, "We all worked incredibly hard on this album, and it is also the last recorded body of work from Tim — we want to be sure we give it the full release attention that it deserves to honor his legacy."

They added, "We know that this is a very upsetting and trying situation for all those affected, and we ask people to please be as understanding as possible while everyone works through this. We appreciate you always." The album is available to pre-order here .

As you might expect, the group will have a revised touring lineup for the upcoming dates. Guitarist Andrew Wells will be taking over clean vocal duties on the upcoming tour, while Veil of Maya 's Marc Okubo will join the band to handle Wells' guitar duties. In addition, former Dance Gavin Dance frontman and current Royal Coda frontman Kurt Travis will sing on select songs.

The "An Evening With Friends" tour moniker is a significant one, as you can now see as Royal Coda are one of the support acts on the tour, with Body Thief rounding out their three-band bill.

Dance Gavin Dance drummer Matt Mingus states, “We are very pleased to announce our exciting and intimate headlining tour, ‘An Evening With Friends.’ Last month, unfortunately, and not by our choice, we were made aware that we could not perform on the summer tour we had been looking forward to for the past year. We were lucky enough to get the support from our partners to help curate a last-minute headline tour hitting most of the cities we already planned on performing in."

He continued, "It's yet another obstacle put in our way that we are willing and able to overcome. While change can sometimes be challenging to adapt to, we are optimistic and looking towards the future with our heads held high and a fantastic new album to celebrate. We look forward to seeing you this summer.”

The show promises 21 intimate concerts across the country with setlists filled fan favorites, deeper cuts and new songs from the Jackpot Juicer album, that's due July 29 lining up with the start of their touring. Tickets will go on sale to the general public this Thursday (June 30) at 10AM local time via the band's website .

It should also be noted that the tour starts with special show at the Whisky-a-Go-Go on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles with a portion of the proceeds from the night going to MusiCares . See all of the tour dates, cities and venues listed below.

Dance Gavin Dance announced their An Evening With Friends tour on Monday (June 27) in support of their upcoming album  Jackpot Juicer , out on July 29.

The 21-date North American stretch of live shows will not include vocalist Tilian Pearson, who stepped away from the rock band earlier in June to “seek professional help” following sexual misconduct allegations against him.

For the upcoming tour, the band’s guitarist Andrew Wells will be taking over singing duties, while Marc Okubo of Veil of Maya will step in on guitar. Royal Coda’s Kurt Travis — who is also the former Dance Gavin Dance frontman — will join in for select songs, according to a press release.

“We are very pleased to announce our exciting and intimate headlining tour, ‘An Evening With Friends,’” drummer Matt Mingus shared in a statement.  “ Last month, unfortunately, and not by our choice, we were made aware that we could not perform on the summer tour we had been looking forward to for the past year. We were lucky enough to get the support from our partners to help curate a last-minute headline tour hitting most of the cities we already planned on performing in. It’s yet another obstacle put in our way that we are willing and able to overcome. While change can sometimes be challenging to adapt to, we are optimistic and looking towards the future with our heads held high and a fantastic new album to celebrate. We look forward to seeing you this summer.”

On June 3, the band revealed in a joint statement on Instagram that Pearson will be taking a hiatus from Dance Gavin Dance. “The recent allegations against Tilian are something we take very seriously, and we have been in deep discussion regarding the appropriate action,” the statement read. “Effective immediately, Tilian will be stepping away from the band in order to seek professional help.”

“We know that this is a very upsetting and trying situation for all those affected, and we ask people to please be as understanding as possible while everyone works through this,” the statement concluded. “We appreciate you always.”

The announcement came days after a Reddit user shared a detailed account of her alleged interactions with Pearson leading up to and following Dance Gavin Dance’s performance at SwanFest in Sacramento, Calif., on April 23.

Pearson denied the allegations in his own Reddit post, which has since been deleted but shared by  Loudwire,   which reported that he wrote he was “very vulnerable” during the alleged encounter, and “every sexual act was purely consensual.”

Chart topping post-hardcore outfit,  Dance Gavin Dance , today announced a very special “ An Evening With Friends Tour ” with support from Royal Coda and Body Thief. The tour, produced by Live Nation, will see  Dance Gavin Dance  play 21 intimate shows across the country, featuring setlists comprised of fan favourites, rarely played deep cuts and new songs from the band’s upcoming album, ‘ Jackpot Juice r ’ (out July 29th via Rise Records). Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Thursday, June 30th at  DanceGavinDanceBand.com . 

The very special tour will also provide fans with a unique  Dance Gavin Dance  line-up. Guitarist  Andrew Wells  will be taking centre stage to take over clean singing duties,  Marc Okubo  of Veil of Maya will be stepping in to cover Andrew’s guitar duties and the band will be joined by former  Dance Gavin Dance  frontman and frontman of Royal Coda,  Kurt Travis,  for select songs.

The 21-date trek starts on July 26th with a very special, intimate show at the infamous Sunset Strip venue, The Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, CA, which was previously announced and sold out in less than 3 minutes (with a portion of the show proceeds going towards  Musicares ). The ‘An Evening With Friends’ tour will wrap on August 24th in San Francisco, CA at The Fillmore. Full routing below:

Jonny Craig Arrested; Dance Gavin Dance Cancel Tour

In an official post on their Facebook page, Dance Gavin Dance announced yesterday that they would be cancelling their upcoming tour scheduled to start in November. They wrote:

We regret to inform everyone that due to circumstances beyond our control, we have been forced to cancel our upcoming tour. We apologize to everyone that bought tickets and was looking forward to coming out and seeing us and the rest of the bands.

According to reports today, the reason Dance Gavin Dance cancelled their tour is because frontman Jonny Craig, has been arrested. He is currently being held on two counts of illegal drug use, two counts of possession of narcotics, and one count of failure to appear.

This isn't the first time that Jonny Craig has been in the news for the wrong reasons; earlier this year, it was reported that Craig was  scamming fans out of money via Twitter by offering to sell MacBooks which were never sent out.

Just one week after the tragic passing of their bassist Tim Feerick, Dance Gavin Dance have announced a new album, Jackpot Juicer , due July 29th. The post-hardcore band also confirmed that it will still embark on its scheduled Spring tour, which will be preceded on Saturday (April 23rd) with a headlining appearance at the group’s own Swanfest in its hometown of Sacramento, California.

After Swanfest, the headlining tour commences on April 26th in Spokane, Washington, and runs through a May 20th show in Birmingham, Alabama. The spring run will be followed by support slot of Coheed and Cambria’s summer tour , kicking off in July. Tickets for all of Dance Gavin Dance’s upcoming shows are available via Ticketmaster .

While the announcement of the album and the decision to honor the tour dates might seem crass in the wake of Feerick’s death, Dance Gavin Dance explained in a statement that they have the blessing of the late bassist’s family and that “close friend” Sergio Medina will fill in on bass:

“This past week has been the most challenging time in Dance Gavin Dance’s history. On Thursday, April 14th, we found out that we had lost Tim. While he was the bassist in the band, he was also our brother and best friend. Losing him is devastating. We were preparing to meet up this past weekend in Sacramento for a photoshoot and then rehearse this week ahead of Swanfest and the subsequent tour, when we heard the devastating news that he was no longer with us.

After the initial shock and sadness, it wasn’t long after that we were faced with some challenging decisions about the immediate future and our upcoming plans. After many internal discussions with our team and, most importantly, Tim’s family, we have decided to perform this year’s Swanfest and do the subsequent tour in honor and dedication to Tim. We will also move ahead with the announcement of our forthcoming album, later this week.

The main factor of this decision came from knowing who Tim was as a person and what he would have wanted. We are confident that he would be very disappointed if we were to postpone or cancel these dates. We received further affirmation of this from Tim’s parents, with their encouragement to perform these dates. In addition, music is our way of healing, and we, as the remaining members, desire to be together during this time and perform on stage to our fans the songs that he helped create. While no one can ever replace Tim or what he has brought to the band, we have asked Sergio Medina, a close friend to all of us and someone who has worked with Tim, to perform the bass duties for the upcoming shows.

We are planning a memorial to Tim at Swanfest, and the entire festival will be in dedication to him, as will all the following shows on the tour. We look forward to celebrating his life with the fans. While this is an immense tragedy for everyone that loved and respected Tim, he would want everyone to come out, be together and enjoy the music. RIP Tim.”

In early May, the post-hardcore rockers announced their nationwide ‘The Popular MonsTOUR II: World Domination’ in support of their forthcoming fifth studio album “Popular Monster.”

Then, on June 6, they dropped the record’s second single, the radio-friendly “All My Life,” with Jelly Roll that strays from their trademark hard rock/metal lane and tiptoes into a more mainstream country/pop/rock sound.

While we can’t predict what the rest of their record will sound like, we do know that you won’t want to miss seeing them — along with high-profile special guests Dance Gavin Dance, Black Veil Brides, Tech N9ne, Nathan James and Jeris Johnson on select dates — thrash live.

Falling In Reverse new music

Thus far, Falling In Reverse has released two singles ahead of the upcoming “Popular Monster” album, which is due out Aug. 16.

The first, “Ronald,” is straightforward rock with a bit of speedy rap courtesy of Tech N9ne thrown in for good measure toward the end of the heavy tune.

As for the aforementioned, “All My Life,” it’s certainly a departure from Falling In Reverse’s trademark hardcore sound. We’d say it’s more in line with Jelly Roll’s melancholy honky tonk. Expect to hear this catchy bop at grocery stores, drugstores and laundromats all summer long.

Jennifer Lopez was spotted solemnly walking out of a dance studio in Burbank, Calif., hours after canceling her upcoming tour amid reports that she and Ben Affleck are headed toward divorce .

The pop star, 54, was photographed with a straight face as she exited Mihran K. dance studio Friday, demonstrating a different demeanor than she had at rehearsal a few weeks ago .

Per photos obtained by Page Six Saturday, she wore beige sweats and a knit top for the outing. Her honey brunette hair was styled down.

Lopez seemed to perk up at one point when she bid farewell to members of her team with some hugs. She was then photographed hopping into a white car before taking off.

The “Let’s Get Loud” hitmaker announced Friday that she was canceling her This Is Me… Live tour to spend time with her loved ones.

“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” she wrote in her “On the JLo” newsletter. “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”

The “Hustlers” star promised fans that she would make it up to them before signing off, “I love you all so much. Until next time…”

Representatives for Live Nation, the promoter for the tour, added in a statement of their own, “Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends.”

Lopez recently told AP News that she has “pared down” her obligations over the last “few years” to “slow down more and be home more.”

This Is Me… Live was originally named after  Lopez’s ninth studio album , “This Is Me … Now,” but was rebranded  in April amid rumors that she couldn’t sell tickets . However, insiders denied the claims.

Lopez’s tour cancellation does notably come after weeks of rumors that she and Affleck are on the rocks .

In May, a person close to “Argo” director’s camp told Page Six that he was ready to move on .

“If there was a way to divorce on grounds of temporary insanity, he would,” the source explained at the time. “He feels like the last two years was just a fever dream, and he’s come to his senses now and understands there is just no way this is going to work.”

Earlier this week, a source claimed to Us Weekly that he feels “worn down” by their relationship and “doesn’t agree with Jennifer’s lifestyle.”

The insider further alleged that the “Air” actor, 51, has been “checked out” for quite some time.

The pair originally got engaged in 2002 but ended their relationship in 2004 before rekindling their romance decades later. They found love again in 2021 before  eloping in Las Vegas  in July 2022.

Lopez and Affleck then threw a formal wedding  at his Georgia estate the following month.

The famous duo share five children from their previous marriages. Lopez welcomed 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony in 2008, and Affleck has Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

Licence decision on controversial dance event at herefordshire farm.

A controversial dance music festival in the Herefordshire countryside next weekend has been given the go-ahead after organisers offered to bring forward its closing time on both nights.

Scheduled for Friday June 14 until the following Sunday, originally till 3am each night, at Great Howle Farm south of Ross-on-Wye, GemFest 2024 faced widespread opposition from nearby residents, leading to it being passed to Herefordshire Council’s licensing subcommittee of councillors to decide today (June 7).

But organisers revised their bid shortly before the meeting, asking only that it be permitted to run until midnight both nights.

Among numerous addresses to the committee, Richard Gwyn Powell, speaking on behalf of his mother, a nearby resident, claimed the planned event would “would attract individuals with malicious intent, posing a significant risk of crime and disorder”.

Committee chair Coun Polly Andrews pointed out that the police had made no objections to the proposal.

Resident Chris Freeman said that “past experience tells us the bass-heavy music will echo round the valley”, while husband David Freeman called for acoustic barriers around the site beyond the hay bales already proposed.

Andrew Corbett said the proposed 12 qualified security staff would mean “a high ratio of revellers to staff”, while there were “rumours locally of an influx of young people with no tickets”.

Jacqueline Bradbury claimed that local holiday accommodation owners have had to forgo income over the weekend, while others have taken time off work in anticipation of losing sleep.

Defending Gemfest’s application, agent Nick Semper said “a drop-out rate” meant there would only be 600-800 festival attendees at any one time, with around 500 camping, adding: “Glastonbury this isn't.”

A temporary event notice (TEN) for a more limited event has already been issued, “so it will go ahead anyway”, he said.

Objections had come not from authorities but solely from residents “who are no doubt good people”, but whose concerns had already been dealt with in submitted documents, he claimed.

“Fear and speculation are not admissible, responses should be evidence-based,” Mr Semper said. “There is no history of problems at this site.”

Event organiser Sam Southan added he had already given out his personal contact details locally, via which noise concerns could be addressed during the event.

The subcommittee approved the application on condition that the previous TEN be withdrawn and the revised premises licence adhered to.

“The subcommittee fully recognises the concerns brought by residents and the reasons for them,” Coun Andrews said. But application “is comprehensive, and will promote the licensing objectives”.
