Solo Mounted Tour Pak

Looks great!  

I like it. I saw a guy earlier in the year that had this set-up, including the additional pillion for when he wanted to push the pack back and take a passenger. Not cheap, but very functional.  

This pak wont slide back like the pre-rushmore bikes did with the Legends kit. It would be nothing to get a 2up mount and bolt it on in 5 minutes if I wanted to ride 2 up. I have 3 quick connects for my lights. I have the CD high mount light and the side arms and I also put LED's inside and under the pak with a tilt switch on the lid. Open it up and the light automatically comes on inside. I have a button underneath the pak for 2 12" light strips mounted on the pak just above the saddlebags that light the bags really well. No more fumbling with my cell phone light in the dark.  

That is awesome. Really lights up the luggage. I may add this to the list of things to do over the winter.  

Looks awesome , what mount did you use? I would like to use the same set up

I know a guy that had a 12 CVO with a solo mount pak so they do make them.

I use Mothers Step 2 Sealer and Glaze about once a year and Mother's step 3 carnauba wax every couple of months as needed when I want it to really shine. In these pics that's just a fresh coat of step 2. Step 3 looks amazing.

That is an aftermarket quick detach solo rack. Zero problems with it. It lined right up to my dock. There's a link to it above in post #10.  

This Solo Luggage Box is exactly what I want. Any way you can post a link to which box you got? Also maybe solo rack if it’s proprietary. thank you in advance! nate

Well that is bad to the ass sir. I have ordered a tour pack wirh the normal 2 up rack. Haven’t even considered switching out rack mounts. I’ll be looking into theis for sure. Lights are a nice touch also.  

Tell us about the seat, a normal hammock seat will not work with this solo setup.  

Great setup! I think that might be 'on the list' for next years longer solo trips.  

When I was ordering my new Chopped pack, the parts manager did not recommend it. I wonder why. I realize this is an older thread, but if you have any long term review comments, it would be greatly appreciated. I may still order the King and buy the solo mount for it and swap the 2 if I need to. I had a king 2 up mount on my 22 RG and loved it because my full face modular helmet fit, 2 actually. I ride 95% or more solo, wife won't ride she is terrified, but I like the extra space for long hauls.

Love this design!  

I had this setup on my old Road King and absolutely loved it. You're right, the handling is better. If I were single, this would be the setup on my Road Glide.

DAMN! Thank you so much! Very detailed and looks great. You say you have made a few, do you have the time and stock to make another I can pay you for the material and labor as well? If not, I completely understand, With all the information you gave, I may have a friend of mine who can make one. (I do not have the means to do so)

A few things to take note of if you make those bars... when drilling, know that the front set of holes on the mounting bracket are slightly close together than the rear set of holes (they are not spaced the same, but they look like they are). You'll have to account for that when drilling the holes in the bars. When cutting the "new slots" in the mounting bracket (fig #2 in pic above) align them with the rear slots on the mounting bracket (so the gap side to side is the same, for the back bolts from the tour pack). Don't go more than 2 1/2" forward, or the mounting rack will start showing along the back of the tour pack (2" is probably better) I also counter-bored the front hole on the underside of each bar almost half way, so I could use a shorter bolt and that way my washer and nut weren't as visible up front. I rounded all 4 corners on each bar using a bench grinder, and then "softened" all the edges all the way around with 80 grit sand paper and electric sander... the edges are kinda sharp. Then scuffed all of the surfaces with 200 grit sand paper before painting it all black. On my black bike, it all just kinda disappears under there. If you're up in the Tulsa area, give me a shout out if you have any trouble with it.... it's pretty easy though.
