The Smashing Pumpkins Announce Fall 2022 North American Tour

The Smashing Pumpkins have announced a fall North American tour. The Spirit on Fire Tour features a run of arena dates in October and November with Jane’s Addiction and Poppy. Meg Myers will open in Pittsburgh and Cleveland. In a statement announcing the tour, the Smashing Pumpkins also confirmed they will be releasing new music in 2022. The band shared its last album, Cyr , in 2020. Check out the full list of dates, including a handful of preceding May concerts, below.

Meg Myers Announces Livestream Concert for May

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Meg Myers has announced plans for a major live streaming concert event. Presented by NoCap , "Meg Myers: Live at Cocoon Malibu" premieres Saturday, May 15 at 6:00 PM (PDT) and will stream through Monday, May 17 at 6:00 PM (PDT).

The all new set will include performances of songs featured on Myers' acclaimed EPs, Thank U 4 Taking Me To 2 The Disco and I'd Like 2 Go Home Now, alongside fan favorites and a previously unreleased new song. Tickets officially go on sale today at 9:00 AM (PDT) HERE . General Admission tickets are priced at $15 (Advance)/$20 (Day Of Show). A limited VIP package - including GA ticket and admission to an exclusive live Q&A with Myers, set for Saturday, May 15 at 7:00 PM (PDT) - is priced at $35 (Advance)/$40 (Day Of Show); fans are invited to submit questions using the hashtag #megmyersstream. Exclusive merch items will be available with ticket purchase.

Thank U 4 Taking Me To 2 The Disco and I'd Like 2 Go Home Now are both available now via Sumerian Records at all DSPs and streaming services. The unique pair of EPs - which mark the first releases via Myers' new deal with the Los Angeles-based Sumerian Records - includes the acclaimed singles, " Any Way You Wanna Love ," " i hope you cry (with morgxn) ," and " The Underground ," all available now for streaming and download. "Any Way You Wanna Love" was met by praise from such outlets as Vanyaland , which named the track to its " Year in ReView: Vanyaland's 20 Favorite National Songs of 2020 ," declaring it to be "an anthemic alt-pop jammer that we knew would end up on this list the first time we heard it." An official music video - directed by Max Moore (Motionless In White, New Found Glory) and produced by DJay Brawner (Melanie Martinez, Halestorm) - is streaming now at YouTube.

Co-written and performed as a duet with chart-topping indie-pop tunesmith morgxn, "i hope you cry (with morgxn)" received equivalent applause, with The Line of Best Fit declaring it "a devastating ballad" and "huge step up for Myers." An official visualizer is streaming now at YouTube .

" The Underground " followed last month, accompanied by an inspiring, animated video streaming now at YouTube. Thank U 4 Taking Me 2 The Disco and I'd Like 2 Go Home Now represent Myers' first new releases since the blockbuster success of her chart-topping cover of Kate Bush's 1985 classic, " Running Up That Hill ," available now at all DSPs and streaming services. Originally performed in an NPR Tiny Desk Concert , the track made history earlier this year by ascending to #1 on Billboard's "Alternative Songs" airplay chart 42 weeks after its official March 2019 release - the longest trip to the top in the chart's three-decade history. What's more, "Running Up That Hill" also reached #1 on Billboard's "Rock Airplay" chart in its 29th week, tying for the third-longest climb to the peak position in that tally's own 10-year history. Adventures in Russia and beyond

Step into the matrix

At the end of my second week here in Moscow, I’m starting to get a feel for my day-to-day life. Tuesday the kids arrive and that is when the rubber really hits the road. My classroom is nearly ready and I’ve finally stopped getting lost when walking around my school. Starting to get my bearings. Here’s a few things I’ve noticed so far…

10 cool things about life here in Moscow:

• My school has a forest. That basically makes me Hermione. Or is my school Durmstrang?

• I have an assistant, which is totally insane. I share him with two other art teachers and he is pretty awesome. His name is Tamil and he’s originally from India. He’s fluent in Russian so it makes getting things done 100% faster at school.
• I do not have to take out the trash. There is a trash shoot in my hallway.
• Having a gym and pool at my school is THE BEST. I cannot say how great it is to blow off seam after school. A 5 minute walk from my classroom and I’m there. I look forward to it all day. Soon the school Wellness program will start – yoga, spinning, pilates. Really looking forward to it.
• They park on the sidewalk here. It makes the Boston in me proud.
• The Lada! These Old Soviet cars are everywhere and they are the cutest!

• Hearing Cher and Air Supply on the radio. They are serious about the 80s here. Also Big Willy Style was playing at IKEA last weekend. Yikes.
• They have special stairs for strollers to get to the metro. Brilliant!

• Scooters are cool again! Adults and kids alike scoot all over the place.
• The Everything Store next door sells hover boards.

The not-so-cool things (it can’t be all puppies and rainbows, after all…):

• International teaching can be a little like freshman year of college, bringing out different sides of people. Takes a while to weed through the fray 🙂
• Beggars at the train station, startling me during my meal – they come right up beside you at the outdoor cafes and ask for money

I learn a little more about this corner of the world each day. There’s so much to see and I’m really enjoying the vibe. I’m surprised by the safety I’ve found here and how truly European this city seems to be. Looking forward to getting out and exploring this weekend with some new friends. More to come…

I am loving these descriptions and pictures of Mother Russia! And your school sounds amazing. A pool and wellness center?! So jealous. I hope its a great way to hang out with your fellow teachers as you de-stress 🙂 Our kids come back to school on Tuesday too, and I’ll be thinking about you and yours as I help our new kindergarteners hold a lunch tray and open their milks. And then wishing I had a school pool to jump into. I hope you are finding lots of little spots that will soon be your new “locals” as Moscow is starting to feel more and more familiar. Sending you lots of love and strength for the first few days of school, I’m sure they will love you!

For nearly a decade, Oregon-bred indie-pop trio Joseph have performed a certain emotional alchemy with their music, channeling their deepest inner tensions into songs that spark a life-changing shift in perspective. In the making of their fourth studio album The Sun, Natalie Closner and her sisters, twins Meegan Closner and Allison Closner focused their soul-searching songwriting on the quietly damaging forces that keep us from living fully in our truth (e.g., gaslighting, cultural conditioning, unconscious yet painfully limiting self-beliefs).
