Skiing and snowboarding

Adventures in the swiss mountains.

Every day, our motivated employees take care of the preparations for unique winter experiences in the snow. As a winter sports enthusiast, you can choose from 253 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes, 81 secured runs and five different ski resorts in Davos Klosters Mountains. From blue (easy) to red (medium), black (difficult) and black/yellow (freeride), there is something for every taste and every type of skier.

Fast skiers who want to feel the airflow in their face as they swoosh down the slopes. Leisurely skiers and snowboarders who particularly appreciate being surrounded by a beautiful mountain landscape with plenty of sunshine. And freeriders who prefer to ski downhill through deep powder snow. Snow sports fans are bound to find the perfect downhill run in the mountains of Davos Klosters!

253 km slopes

The perfect experience for everyone.

With 81 different downhill runs and other winter attractions, Davos Klosters Mountains has a lot to offer for winter sports fans. In addition to the pleasure of whooshing down the slopes, they can also look forward to plenty of culinary delights, cosy get-togethers, sunbathing, and après-ski.

A large selection of different slopes , from blue to black, is a convincing asset of Davos Klosters Mountains. For experienced skiers, we recommend the steep slopes on Jakobshorn Nord, Bräma (black/red) or Gipfel Nord on Parsenn. That’s where you can test and finetune your skiing skills.

Guaranteed snow from November to April: Thanks to the region’s elevation at more than 1,560 metres above sea level and constant investments in artificial snow-making equipment , skiers and snowboarders benefit from guaranteed snow from November to April. So nothing stands in the way of winter fun, and the slopes are always in tip-top shape!

Good to know: Every ski resort in Davos Klosters Mountains has a downhill run all the way into the valley . From Jakobshorn and Parsenn, you can ski directly to the town centre. It hardly gets more convenient! The valley runs are usually open from December to April when snow conditions are good, which means you can ski into the valley all winter long.

Freestylers will find a perfect terrain for adrenaline rushes at the JatzPark. The Jakobshorn is the centre for all those who love freestyling!

Alongside perfectly groomed slopes for skiers and snowboarders, there are also several secured but ungroomed slopes , which can be used by freeriders when open. On Pischa , there are no groomed slopes on the entire mountain. This was a deliberate choice, so winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy their adventures in pristine powder snow surrounded only by nature.

5 mountains

Long slopes, events, cosiness and much more ..., parsenn classical skiing.

The most classical ski resort of the Davos Klosters Mountains is the Parsenn area. With long and wide runs, this mountain ensures fun on the slopes all day long. The Parsenn connects the two towns of Davos and Klosters and with over 100 kilometres of slopes it is one of the largest ski areas in Switzerland.

Jakobshorn the fun mountain

The "Fun" mountain Jakobshorn is known and loved throughout Switzerland. It welcomes ski fans with varied slopes from blue to black, with many sun terraces, excellent culinary offers and sunny slopes. Freestylers meet on the Jakobshorn at the JatzPark and the facilities at Bolgen.

Rinerhorn the insider tip

Rinerhorn is the insider tip in the Davos Klosters Mountains. It offers perfectly groomed slopes, long runs and a warm family atmosphere. With 49 kilometres of slopes, especially families and school groups feel right at home at the Rinerhorn.

Pischa for freeriders

Pischa is the local recreational area, where you can try a variety of alternative snow sports. That's why there are no groomed slopes on Pischa. An optimal mountain for freeriders who will enjoy the sunny hills and the fresh powder snow.

Madrisa for families

Madrisa is the family mountain in Klosters. The ski area with 31 kilometres of pistes not only impresses families but also people with handicap. With a height-adjustable chairlift, children and people with a handicap can safely use the lift system.

Nighttime skiing on Rinerhorn

Imagine the following winter scenario: Freshly groomed slopes, moonlight, and you’re smack in the middle going nighttime skiing or snowboarding. That’s an experience you can enjoy on Wednesday and Friday evening all throughout winter season up on Rinerhorn . The Rinerhorn cable car takes you up the mountain from 19:00 to 22:30, and the floodlit valley run is open during this time as well.

If you’re in the mood for tasty culinary delights, you should visit Jatzmeder restaurant by the mountain station, Spina along the valley run or the Blockhuus at the valley station.

Our tip: On Wednesday evening, Jatzmeder restaurant offers its legendary spaghetti buffet – perfect for families or school classes and a highlight during every holiday week! A more romantic alternative is the candle-light raclette or fondue every Friday night.

Raiffeisen run

Feel the adrenaline rushing through your veins as you stand at the start of the Raiffeisen Run like Wendy Holdener or Daniel Yule! In a few seconds, you’ll be swooshing around the giant slalom gates as fast as possible. On Jakobshorn, you can give a traditional giant slalom a try. The course is located below the mountain station of the Clavadeler Bubble chairlift.

By the way: On Parsenn , there is a traditional giant slalom including time measurements, which is located right next to the downhill run number 4 Weissfluhjoch – Höhenweg.

On top: You can compete with your friends and achieve your personal best time.

Nordica speed run on Parsenn

Skiing or snowboarding on freshly groomed slopes is tons of fun. However, it’s not always that easy to estimate how fast you are going.

The Nordica Speed Run to the left of the Standard Number 4 downhill run on Parsenn takes care of that for you. Thanks to accurate time measurements, you can find out how fast you are and race your friends at the same time. Who’s the fastest at downhill skiing? Who’s the first one at the finish line? You’ll also get a souvenir photo taken, which you can download afterwards. Simply scan your ski pass at the start hut and hurl yourself down the run!

Ski Challenge Davos Klosters

Do you want to discover the most spectacular and beautiful slopes of the Davos Klosters Mountains? You also want to learn more about the insider routes of the locals? Then we know the perfect challenge for you!

The Ski Challenge Davos Klosters is a day tour and includes the most beautiful ski slopes of the region. It combines our ski areas into a unique day experience and takes you on a spectacular tour of the region. Simply set off, answer the questions correctly and pick up your Ski Challenge gift at the end by knowing the correct answer.

Good to know: When you buy a regional ski pass, the public transport between the ski areas is included. On the Ski Challenge Route you will find numerous restaurants for a snack.

Nostalgia run on Parsenn

Find out about the pioneering role of Parsenn and the development of skiing in Switzerland! On the 12-kilometre Nostalgia Run from Weissfluh’s summit to Küblis you can learn exciting details about the history of winter sports on various information boards along the route. What’s more, you’ll also read about the construction of the Parsenn funicular, slope-grooming, and the legendary Parsenn Derby. The interesting descriptions come illustrated with lots of fascinating pictures. A highlight for mountains fans of all ages!

Accommodations for skiers & snowboarders

The Mountain Hotels and Resorts are the perfect accommodation for all skiers and snowboarders who want to stay close to the slopes and near the town’s centre. And the best part: If you book your stay and you already have a ski pass, you benefit from attractive offers at the Mountain Hotels including a discount on your accommodation expenses.

Mountain restaurants

A great ski day not only includes first-rate slopes, but also tasty refreshments and culinary delights at one of the mountain restaurants. In Davos Klosters Mountains, you’ll find the perfect location for every taste – whether you prefer regional, home-style food or hearty meals, such as burgers and pizza. Every menu contains an insider’s tip. Because at the mountain restaurants in the Grisons mountains, culinary pleasure and hospitality take centre stage.

Loris - The Snow Experience Davos

Speaks: Ger, Eng, Ita

My journey in skiing began early, progressing from a club participant to a ski coach and organizing ski holidays. Summers were all about mountain biking and hiking trails.

After earning a degree in mechanics, I found my calling in seasonal work as a ski instructor in Davos-Klosters. My focus shifted to freeriding and skitouring as I explored the slopes, and I embraced climbing and mountaineering during the summer.

Downhill biking is a passion I've maintained alongside my winter pursuits.

Nejc - The Snow Experience Davos

Speaks: Eng, Rus, basic German

My life has been a journey fueled by a deep passion for sports. I hold a degree in Sport and have explored diverse sports landscapes worldwide.

For the past nine years, Davos-Klosters has been my base, where I've dedicated myself to ski instruction and guiding on its majestic slopes.

Outside of Davos-Klosters, I run my sports enterprise in Slovenia, specializing in mountain biking tours and cycling holidays.

Sports are my driving force, and sharing the joy of movement in nature is more than a profession; it's a way of life I cherish.

Willy - The Snow Experience Davos

Speaks: Ita, Eng

A lifelong sports enthusiast, I've journeyed from competing in triathlons as a young child to studying sports science in England.

I've taught surfing in Australia and now split my time between mountains and waves.

Based in Davos-Klosters for the past four years, I've refined my snowboarding and skiing skills. Beyond the slopes, I manage a surf-house in Portugal, offering surfing and yoga experiences.

Regardless of your skill level, I'm excited to share my passion for the mountains with you.

Davos: the distinctive, long intermediate runs of the Parsenn area; possibility to visit a different sector every day, the considerable off-slope potential

Davos and klosters; a region with guaranteed snow.

Are you a peak performer? Then the days on the magical mountains of Davos Klosters will be over all too soon for you. Because you can choose between 6 snow sports resorts here: The freestyle mountain Jakobshorn, the ski classic Parsenn and the two family-friendly mountains Madrisa and Rinerhorn are available to choose from. There is also the decelerated Schatzalp ski area and the freeride mountain Pischa. To put it in a nutshell: 190 miles of guaranteed snow pistes and 57 transport facilities.

On the Jakobshorn snowboards and free-skiers are particularly at home, having a ball in the fun park. And it is not only the numerous pistes and runs that see the action – the ski huts are also full of fun. The range of national and international sports events on the Jakobshorn is massive. The Jakobshorn is the ultimate event mountain!

On the opposite side of the mountain lies the ski resort Parsenn, which is accessible from Davos and Klosters . As the largest snow sports resort in the area, its pistes offer every difficulty rating. On Parsenn visitors will also find one of the longest runs in Europe – it is 12 km from Weissfluhgipfel to Küblis.

Madrisa & Rinerhorn

The family mountains Madrisa and Rinerhorn offer ski-loving families everything they want. Children experience fun and diversity in the various children’s fun areas.

Pischa is the natural alternative for everyone who wants to enjoy the mountain far away from the hustle and bustle. The focus is on alternative sports such as fatbiking, winter hiking, snowshoeing or high-alpine cross-country skiing. The area is also an excellent starting point for ski tours in open terrain and freeriding.

Schatzalp/Strela

The Schatzalp-Strela slopes in Davos are home to the first “decelerated” ski resort . The resort, which is situated on the sunny side of Davos, is ideally suited for this with its gently rolling hillsides. Schatzalp/Strela is reached from Davos Platz in just four minutes by funicular railway.

What’s Great

  • Very extensive slopes
  • Some superb, long and mostly easy runs away from the lifts
  • Lots of off-slope, with lots of marked itineraries and some short tours
  • Good cross-country trails
  • Plenty to do off slopes: excellent sports facilities, pretty walks, good range of shopping
  • Some captivating mountain restaurants above Klosters
  • Klosters is an attractive village alternative base

Ski guide: Klosters, Switzerland

Klosters is a stylishly understated little town that’s perfect for skiing the 185 miles of runs it shares with davos..

ski tour klosters

A town with royal heritage – Prince (now King) Charles has been skiing here for going on 50 years, loving the informality and the very English atmosphere. The fact that the 60-mile Parsenn area linking with Davos offers great skiing and that there’s another 125 miles is a bonus.

The Gotschnagrat cable car in the heart of Klosters, right by the railway station, opens up the Parsenn which runs all the way to Davos, where the Parsenn funicular, which opened 90 years ago, runs from the town centre. All very civilised and the towns are connected by train if you don’t fancy skiing all the way there and back.

The other side of Klosters is Madrisa, a family area. Jakobshorn is Davos’s big, stand-alone ski area, where skiing’s first lift, a T-bar, was opened in 1934, and where apres-ski is as important to some as the runs. Above Davos is Schatzalp, skiing with an old-time feel – no man-made snow and aimed at relaxed skiers. Just out of town is Pischa, unpisted – and unlifted, except for a cable car to the top. Rinerhorn is a small, quiet area visited mostly by locals.

ski tour klosters

Swooshing down one of the long, wide runs on the Parsenn

The Parsenn area is one of those great ski areas where you feel like you’re really going somewhere – lunching in a different resort after a great morning’s skiing. Long, wide pistes swoop down as they have for so many years. This area is seen as the birthplace of Swiss skiing – in 1895 four English tourists got lost on the Weissfluhjoch and ended up in Küblis, on the far side of Klosters. The eight-mile run, one of Europe’s longest, still hosts the Parsenn Derby, the amateur ski race first held in 1924.

The Jakobshorn has a new run this season, a tree-lined black, heading down the valley, well over half a mile long, carved out of a narrow, bump-filled off-piste, rushes straight to the centre of Davos. From the mountain there are 360-degree panoramas of some of Switzerland’s mightiest peaks.

Madrisa is a world of magic carpet lifts, slow, safe chairlifts, a five-mile toboggan runs and two snow parks, Madrisa Land and Madrisa Park Klosters, accessible to those with disabilities. But it’s also popular with ski tourers and free riders – it’s possible to ski to Austria and back.

Pischa might be unpisted but there are marked routes, which are closed when conditions are poor, along with vast area of open, unpatrolled mountainside. This is also a place for ski touring with two taster courses held by mountain guides each week. Schatzalp is the very opposite, easy-going runs for those who simply want to potter and see the scenery – a landscape that inspired writer Thomas Mann’s to create his masterpiece The Magic Mountain, a mountainous novel set around a sanatorium. The book celebrated its centenary in 2024 – and the grandiose art nouveau sanatorium that featured in the book is now grandiose Berghotel Schatzalp sunning itself at 6,100ft.

The royal seal

ski tour klosters

The King Charles III cable car ready to reign in Klosters

King Charles is known for his love of soaring down the slopes but this season he’ll be soaring up them. Or, at least, the cable car named in his honour by Klosters, resort will.

The main Gotschnagrat lift from the centre of town was named the Prince of Wales cable car in 2015 to celebrate 40 years since he first skied there and in March 2023 the name was changed to King Charles – but a cable fault meant it didn’t celebrate last season, but now it’s all up and running. The lettering on the grandly red cabin reads: ‘King Charles III A treasured guest of Klosters since 1998.

This was where he prepared to propose to Diana, narrowly escaped a fatal avalanche, introduced William and Harry to skiing, and learned that his grandmother had died.

Charles has also enjoyed the solitude of the off-piste areas, as well as the black piste leading down to Wolfgang, half way between the two towns, where Kessler’s Kulm restaurant and hotel has been a favourite haunt.

A stylish room at the Seven Alpina

The cosy, traditional Hotel Alpina, run for 30 years by the same couple who retired at the end of last season, has over the summer been transformed into Seven Alpina, a boutique delight. Not only is the Alpina in the centre of Klosters, it’s across the road from both the railway station and the Gotschnagrat lift. The chalet-style hotel, actually three small connected buildings, including an overhauled spa with a swimming pool, now combines an ageless air with contemporary colour and design. There’s the new WunderBar for apres-ski with both live music and DJs and the Peak restaurant combining mountain dishes and Mediterranean Italian flavours. Seven.ch

The fabulous pool at Hotel Sport

Hotel Sport is great for families, with a big indoor pool, children’s pool, sports hall with bowling alley, table tennis and billiards. There are both modern and traditional rooms and the free ski bus, which stops outside, takes minutes to either the Gotschnagrat or the Madrisa area.

Eating and drinking

The Chesa Grischuna is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, looking medieval yet from the 1930s. In the 40s and 50s Hollywood stars including Greta Garbo, Audrey Hepburn and Bing Crosby stayed at the hotel and the dark, wonderful interior is a place to enjoy oneself. The subterranean Chesa Bar, with original paintings and a very grand piano, lets you leave the world behind – Gene Kelly once tap-danced on the bar. The restaurant, swimming in Gault Millau points, is rich in local river fish, venison and vegetables.

The Wynegg is another classic hotel, albeit somewhat understated. It’s another place where Charles has supped and when I visited in March the simple bar was alive to the sound of cultured English voices of a certain generation, including that of the father of a former girlfriend of Prince Harry. Late socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was a regular. The restaurant is traditional with a modern edge, the work of chef Andri Fasser, one of the partners who now run the place. wynegg.ch

How to do it

PT Ski (ptski.com), run by Tara Palmer-Tomkinson’s brother James, offers seven nights at the Seven Alpina from £2,635pp, BB, including Zurich airport transfers and piste hosting but not flights.

Inghams (inghams.co.uk) has seven nights at the Hotel Sport from £1,139 HB, including flights and transfers. A third person on a single bed pays the same price.

Swiss flies from Heathrow to Zurich and trains run to Klosters. For details myswitzerland.com/klosters.ch/davos.ch

Our review of davos-klosters ski resorts.

Rockin' Davos, Picturesque Klosters...

The Davos Klosters region is very diverse: long, wide slopes for intermediate skiers, snowparks for all levels, unspoilt mountains for freeriders and a wide range of activities for non-skiers. All this in a scenic mountain setting.

World-famous as host of the World Economic Forum, Davos (1’560m) is a true winter sports metropolis. The lack of charm is compensated by all what an Alpine city can offer: lively bars, après-ski, restaurants and grand hotels.

Its little sister Klosters (1’194m), linked to Davos by road, train and by the slopes, is quite the opposite. Protected from road traffic thanks to a bypass tunnel, this picturesque village appeals by its typically Swiss atmosphere.

Ski slopes in Davos

Video by Linus Kinzel

Our review of the skiing area

6 mountains, 6 different worlds

The region is made up of six areas spread along the valley and connected to each other by trains and buses. The majority of the slopes are above 2’000m and enjoy good snow conditions throughout the season.

Intermediate and advanced skiers

The slopes are generally wide and long and cater for intermediate and advanced skiers. There is only one black run, the run going down to the valley in Davos. Advanced skiers should try the secured and easily accessible off-piste.

The area is not really suitable for beginners, except for the small area of Madrisa.

The lifts have recently been renovated and consist of cable cars, gondolas, funiculars and chair lifts. Some ski-lifts are present on a number of smaller slopes.

Accessible from Davos-Dorf and Klosters-Platz

With 97km of runs, Parsenn is the largest area in the region. Its central point is the Weissfluhgipfel at 2’844m. From the top of the mountain there are numerous slopes for intermediate and advanced skiers, including the longest slope down to Davos (15km, 1’200m difference in altitude). On the Klosters side, there are also a few long runs leading to the village through the forest or to the village of Küblis. The ski area can be reached from Davos-Dorf by funicular railway or from Klosters-Platz by cable car.

Please note that the slopes can be reached free of charge before everyone else at sunrise with to the special programme Davos Klosters Inside (every Thursday, only with reservation).

The area is aimed at freestyle and freeride enthusiasts. In addition to the slopes starting from the Jakobshorn (2’590m), they will enjoy the combination of rails and kickers of different levels, a superpipe and an air bag. Finally, two beautiful freeride descents on the sides of the mountain take you back to the valley. The area can be reached by cable car from Davos-Platz.

Accessible from Davos-Glaris

The quieter area is suitable for families and offers beautiful blue runs through the pine trees. It can be reached by train from Davos-Platz (10 min), by bus from Davos-Dorf (20 min) or by car from Davos (10 min).

Other ski areas

Far from the prepared slopes and left in its natural setting, the skiing area of Pischa will delight fans of freeriding and winter hiking.

With its playgrounds and toboggan run, the Madrisa area is particularly suitable for families with small children. The area can be reached by cable car from Klosters-Dorf.

Finally, the sunny area of Schatzalp with its gentle blue slopes is ideal for slow-skiers.

How to get to Davos and Klosters?

Location and access

Davos is located in the German-speaking part of the canton of Grisons (Graubünden) less than 2 hours from Zurich. The starting point for most visitors will be the town of Landquart, which is accessible by motorway and InterCity trains. From there, one drives down into the Prättigau valley to Klosters. It is then necessary to cross the Wolfgang Pass and bypass Lake Davos to reach Davos itself.

The town lies along a relatively narrow valley surrounded by lined up peaks. It consists of two parts: the quieter Davos-Dorf and the more lively Davos-Platz with its many restaurants and bars.

How to get there by car

  • Take the motorway to Landquart and exit at Landquart/Davos.
  • Then follow the valley. Klosters is about 30 minutes away.
  • To reach Davos, take the bypass tunnel before Klosters.
  • Then follows the Wolfgang Pass, followed by Lake Davos and finally the town itself (approx. 40 minutes from Landquart).

Car parks There is a car park at all lift departures.

  • Madrisa: 5 CHF / day
  • Parsenn Davos: 5 CHF / day
  • Parsenn Klosters: 1 CHF / hour

Klosters offers a unique combination of a renowned mountain resort – the British King Charles is a regular guest – and the idyll of an unspoilt Graubünden village. The diverse range of activities on offer in summer and winter is well suited to families with children.

Description

Nestling in what has remained the rural part of the Prättigau (Graubünden), Klosters, with its romantic village-like atmosphere, stands in stark contrast to the nearby Alpine metropolis of Davos. Thanks to the Vereina tunnel, even the Engadine has now become a direct neighbouring region. Klosters belongs to the family resorts bearing the "Families Destination" quality mark.

Davos and Klosters calls for ski touring, off-piste and freeride

  • rideandsmile
  • April 16, 2018
  • Davos , Klosters , Winter

If you are a powder snow lover, Davos Klosters  is the right place to be. The possibilities are endless, and it is not a destination full of people, so you do not need to fight for the first line. There are so many options that even Davos Klosters residents cannot ski in all of the off-piste routes during a single winter.

Going up on the mountains is not a challenge, even if you are not a very fit and skilful person; it is possible to access some r emarkable off-piste by lift – most of the ski tours are connected with lift transport, or you can find other options. It helps to make Davos Klosters the mecca for freeride skiing . Also, some of the off-piste descents are open fields cultivated by farmers; they are free of rocks, and it is not necessary to have much snow for freeriding and ski touring.

17 - Davos and Klosters calls for ski touring, off-piste and freeride

What you need to know for first time ski touring?

Ski touring and Freeride in Davos and Klosters

The off-piste season does not finish early: It is possible to do a great ski touring day until the end of April. Furthermore, the region offers the possibility of making a fantastic ski touring safari. The alternatives to enjoying snow sports are many: Pack up and prepare for the excitement and fun!

11 - Davos and Klosters calls for ski touring, off-piste and freeride

Ride and Smile has listed some special off piste skiing in Davos and Klosters:

Off piste guide davos.

In Davos, PISCHA is a fantastic mountain for the sport, which we highly recommend. The focus there are specifically ski touring, freeride and other fun sports that don’t need prepared slopes – that is what makes this mountain so unique.

One of our favourite smooth ski tours is the one in PISCHAHORN – 2,912m.When the weather and the snow conditions are good, it is a worth mountain! The walk up there is not long, and the run down to TSCHUGGEN is also a cool option for skiing.

SKI TOURING, OFF PISTE AND FREERIDE

If the RINERHORN mountain is the choice, a recommended off-piste option is to ski down in SERTIGTAL . The influence of the weather from the south is prevailing; so, if the forecast says there will be a sunny day in Engandin, you will probably have good weather there, too.

15 - Davos and Klosters calls for ski touring, off-piste and freeride

Feel like being on the top of the world?

You should go to JAKOBSHORN . You start skiing on the impressive altitude of almost of 3,000 m – that is a view! It offers various options for a relaxed ski touring as well as a more complex one, as in ROSSBODEN – 2,613 m. To facilitate it, there are many open runs very close to the chairlift. What else would you wish?

In Davos, Parsenn is the most prominent area for ski touring and freeride. If off-piste skiing is something new for you, try DRIMARCHENSPITZ – 2,346 m. For experts, we advise DIRETTISSIMA -2,600 m.  SCHATZALP is an excellent mountain for a ski tour during the spring, and most of the run down is east-facing.We recommend CHÖRPSCH HORN -2,650 m.

9 - Davos and Klosters calls for ski touring, off-piste and freeride

Off-Piste Guide Klosters

On the Klosters side, the mountain is called GOTSCHNA , where there are also many freeride options: DROSTOBEL – 2,250 m, a beautiful and north-facing run, or OBER LARET , a broad way between the trees.

On Madrisa mountain you can find some fantastic ski touring options, like skiing across Austria’s border to Gargellen, completing the famous MADRISA RUNDTOUR.

If searching for comfortable and safe freeride skiing, choose CHÜECALANDA – 2,601m – there are two marked out tracks, from the top of Madrisa down to the chairlift.

Off Piste Guide Klosters

Fun and safety side by side

Equipment is an essential matter when we talk about ski tour and freeride. A local guide reshapes your trip in Davos and Klosters

Naturally, ski touring with friends is one of the first alternatives everyone considers, but if you do not want to miss the good snow and wishes to be at the right time at the right place, do consider booking an off-piste guide.

Everybody can find routes in printed guides and online maps: Yes, routes are there. However, relying on the assistance, knowledge and experience of a local guide, who is on those mountains every winter day, will change the quality of your experience.

He has information that you will not find anywhere else – e.g., weather conditions can easily interfere with snow, like wind, sun, and temperature. He is the person who can assess the snow situation for that moment and indicate the best options.

Also, to do some extreme touring, around 40% steep, you will need a mountain guide. To do some leisurely touring, up to 35% steepness, get to book an off-piste guide, and you will have a fantastic day in Davos Klosters. So, even if you know where the route is, consider trusting in a local guide: He can turn your ski day from pleasant to unforgettable!

Klosters is a captivating Alpine resort village, which will charm you with its beauty and reward you with unforgettable moments during your stay in this peaceful side of Switzerland.

As compared with its metropolis Davos, Klosters has more calm and quiet reputation, though both of them are considered the glamorous sides of the Swiss Alps.

The mountain village of Klosters is connected with its neighbour Resort Davos by five ski areas, which are the largest ones in the Alps.

Klosters is characterized by its genuine village, the fascinating background mountains, the exceptionally welcoming hotels, wellness places and plenty of leisure sports.

It hosts thousands of tourists every year from all over the world, especially those, who like to enjoy their holidays in rural luxurious settings. Hence, Klosters is the very home for them.

Those fond of passive rest can admire the nature of unspoiled chalet-style village Klosters, which has attracted the British Royal family as well as many Hollywood stars, who became regular guests of this holiday village since 1950.

Skiers' Off-Season Adventures: A World Tour of Holiday Destinations

In between winter and summer preparation, everyone has one thing in mind: going on holidays, enjoying some time off with their loved ones, and recharging their batteries for the next season. As the snow melted and the ski season came to a close, many professional skiers took the opportunity to unwind and explore different parts of the world.

From tropical beaches to bustling cities, here's a look at where some of the top skiers spent their off-season holidays.

Seaside Escapes

After a whole season on the slopes, many skiers opted for the tranquility of the sea.

Couple Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (NOR) enjoyed a romantic getaway somewhere at the sea, basking in the sun and relishing the serene ocean views.

Stefanie Venier (AUT) also headed to the coast, choosing the picturesque Maldives as her destination  while her compatriot Cornelia Huetter (AUT) also spent a few days in the sun.

Similarly, Federica Brignone (ITA) found solace in the Philippines, enjoying the vibrant culture and many activities.

Asian Adventures

Katharina Liensberger (AUT) embarked on a cultural journey to China, exploring its rich history and vibrant cities.

Alex Vinatzer (ITA) chose the exotic landscapes of Bali, Indonesia, known for its stunning beaches and spiritual retreats.

Meanwhile, Paula Moltzan (USA) and Anna Swenn-Larsson together with their half experienced the unique blend of tradition and modernity in Japan, immersing herself in its captivating culture.

African Expeditions

Africa offered a mix of adventure and relaxation for several skiers. Clement Noel (FRA) embraced the wild side with a thrilling safari in Namibia, getting up close with the continent's majestic wildlife.

Sofia Goggia (ITA), on the other hand, marveled at the ancient wonders of Egypt, visiting the iconic pyramids.

Roberta Melesi (ITA) and Tommaso Sala (ITA) explored various parts of Africa, soaking in its diverse landscapes and cultures.

Caribbean Delights

The Caribbean's warm climate and turquoise waters attracted a few skiers looking for a perfect beach holiday. Marta Bassino (ITA) indulged in the laid-back vibes and vibrant marine life of the Caribbean islands, enjoying some well-deserved relaxation time.

Manuel Feller (AUT), seeking a mix of relaxation and culture, traveled to Jamaica. There, he soaked up the island's reggae rhythms, explored its lush landscapes, and enjoyed the famous Jamaican hospitality.

European Escapes

Europe was also a destination of choice. Norwegian trio Thea Louise Stjernesund, Kajsa Vickhoff Lie and Kristin Lysdahl chose Italy and Malta for their vacation, exploring ancient ruins, savoring delicious cuisine and basking in the Mediterranean sun.

American Attractions

New York City, the city that never sleeps, drew Mattia Casse (ITA) to its bustling streets and iconic landmarks. He spent his off-season soaking in the vibrant energy of the Big Apple, exploring its diverse neighborhoods and world-famous attractions.

Home Sweet Home

For Filip Zubcic (CRO), there's no place like home. He spent his off-season in his native Croatia, enjoying the beautiful Adriatic coastline and the familiar charm of his homeland.

The off-season not only gave skiers a much-needed break but also well-deserved time for themselves, away from their daily routines. Now that the holidays are over, everyone is ready to push hard again in the gym and prepare for the next winter season.
