Ariana Grande Teases 'The Boy Is Mine' Music Video: See the Preview

See latest videos, charts and news

The announcement photo may look familiar to fans, as she donned the same glittery attire on the cover of her seventh studio album. Bey also added “Renaissance World Tour” on her Instagram bio, further accenting the news. Last week, Beyonce performed a full concert for the first time in four years at a luxury resort in Dubai in front of influencers and journalists. The 19-song set included a collaboration with her oldest daughter Blue Ivy as the two performed “Brown Skin Girl,” which earned them a Grammy two years ago for best music video.

Crowned a triumphant win by music lovers, Renaissance stormed to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last year and rattled off two Hot 100 top 10 hits, including her chart-topper “Break My Soul.” The dance-centric album also notched nine Grammy nominations, the most for any nominee for this year’s ceremony. Bey is looking to rack up more trophy wins, as she currently sits at a staggering 28 wins. Nominated for album of the year, song, and record of the year, Bey is facing some stout competition , especially in the former. The R&B juggernaut will tango against Adele, Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, and more for album of the year. A win in this category would serve as Beyonce’s first. The 65th Grammy Awards will occur Sunday night in Los Angeles at 8 pm EST.

Beyoncé Announces ‘Renaissance’ Stadium Tour Dates

beyonce dubai performance

As expected, Beyoncé has announced a 2023 world tour on Instagram, supporting her multiple-Grammy-nominated 2022 album, “Renaissance.” She also released the dates and cities on her official website.

The timing of the announcement, which comes just days before the Grammy Awards on Sunday, sparks speculation that the singer may perform or at least appear on the show. Beyoncé is the most nominated artist for the awards with nine, all related to “ Renaissance .” Sources tell Variety that her husband Jay-Z will perform with DJ Khaled on the show, most likely their nominated song “God Did.”

Popular on Variety

Beyoncé has said that “Renaissance” is a three-part project, so it’s possible that the next parts could be another album, a long-form video project or even the tour itself.

Beyoncé’s last full tour was the nearly six-month, 49-date “Formation” tour in 2016, which unusually featured no guest appearances until the final show, at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, where she brought out Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z.

She did, however, stage an epochal “Homecoming” headlining performance at the 2018 Coachella festival — which was postponed from 2017 due to the birth of her and Jay’s twins — for which she was accompanied by a full marching band in a nod to historically Black colleges and universities. That blockbuster performance was later released as the “Homecoming” album and — via a three-project deal with Netflix that sources tell Variety is worth $60 million — a feature-length documentary. It seems possible that a future “Renaissance” video project could be part of that deal as well.

Where can you get tickets?

Tickets for the North American leg of the tour will be available through Ticketmaster's Verified Fan program. Tickets will go on sale Monday, Feb 6, with an exclusive presale to BeyHive members, according to a Live Nation press release.

Verified Fan registration is now open. Once you register, you'll be placed in a lottery system that determines which fans get invited to purchase tickets. Registration alone doesn't guarantee tickets. If you're selected, you'll get an access code the day before tickets go on sale. Everyone else will be placed on a waitlist. According to Live Nation, this process is intended to help Ticketmaster weed out the resellers and verify your account so that actual fans get priority to buy tickets.

Citi cardmembers will have a special Citi Presale after the Verified Fan process. Get more details here . Verizon will also offer an exclusive presale through their customer loyalty program Verizon Up .

Will Beyoncé be using Ticketmaster like Taylor Swift to sell tickets?

Yes, but given what happened with Taylor Swift's Eras tour (and the fact it led to Congressional hearings about Ticketmaster ’s practices), it seems very likely both Beyoncé and Ticketmaster would want to avoid repeating that mess. That most likely explains the usage of the Verified Fan system.

Where will Beyoncé be playing?

The Renaissance World Tour will hit 40 cities in North America and across Europe. Stops include Paris, London, Amsterdam, Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston, and many more.

What has Beyoncé said about the Renaissance World Tour?

She just announced it was happening with a post on February 1. Her website didn't immediately contain any more details. But during the Wearable Art Gala in October 2022, she appeared to confirm it would start this summer, as a backstage tour with her mother Tina Lawson was up for auction at the event.

Will Beyoncé be performing at the Grammys (on February 5) and sharing more tour details there?

Not clear yet, but she is the most nominated artist at the ceremony . On January 21, Variety reported that “ talks with show producers are ongoing for a possible onstage appearance ” by Beyoncé.

What can we expect from the tour on stage?

Beyoncé hasn't shared that yet either, but given the artistry she put into her recent Dubai show , it's fair to say we can expect no less than excellence, elaborate costumes, and an incredible experience.

This post will be updated the moment more detail is released.

For the first time since 2016 — a world before Beychella , Covid-19 and “Renaissance” — Beyoncé will headline a solo tour, the singer announced in a social media post on Wednesday.

Beginning on May 10 in Stockholm, and continuing in Europe through June before coming to North America, the Renaissance World Tour, in support of her seventh solo album, will run for at least 40 dates, largely in stadiums, according to dates posted to Beyoncé’s website . The tour includes one night at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (July 29) and one at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. (Sept. 2) amid stops in Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, Atlanta, Phoenix and Miami.

Limited tickets for certain tour dates will go on sale beginning Monday for members of Beyoncé’s BeyHive fan club, followed by the staggered release of additional tickets by market, using a complex registration system for various tiers of buyer.

The tour, produced by Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and promoted by Live Nation, will use Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan system , which aims to limit bots and professional scalpers, marking one of the first major tests for Ticketmaster since extraordinary demand for early tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour last year led to fan backlash and regulatory scrutiny . At a Senate Judiciary hearing last month spurred by the botched presale, artists, fans and politicians cast Live Nation Entertainment, the concert industry giant that owns Ticketmaster, as a monopoly that hinders competition and harms consumers.

Beyoncé’s shows will be the singer’s first live events available to the public since the On the Run II tour with her husband, Jay-Z, in 2018, tied to the surprise release of a joint album, “Everything Is Love,” by the duo billed as the Carters. Beyoncé last toured alone behind her previous solo album, “Lemonade,” in 2016. Two years later, she headlined the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

That show — which went on to be released as “Homecoming” (2019), a live album and concert film — was called “rich with history, potently political and visually grand” in a review by the New York Times critic Jon Caramanica. “By turns uproarious, rowdy, and lush. A gobsmacking marvel of choreography and musical direction.”

In the years since, Beyoncé has surfaced intermittently, including with songs like “Black Parade,” which won a Grammy Award for best R&B performance, and “Be Alive,” which appeared in the movie “King Richard” and was nominated for an Oscar. Last year, in a taped performance, Beyoncé performed the song at the 94th annual Academy Awards.

But the singer made a return to the pop mainstream in earnest with the July 2022 release of “Renaissance,” a dance-floor-oriented album that she said was inspired by the L.G.B.T.Q. community and has spawned hits like “Break My Soul” and “Cuff It.” At the Grammy Awards on Sunday, Beyoncé is nominated nine times , with a chance to become the most-awarded artist in history.

Upon its release, the singer called “Renaissance” part of a “three act project” that she recorded during the pandemic. “My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment,” she wrote of the album, which was billed as Act I. “A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom.”

Major music touring has largely recovered, especially at its highest levels, since the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the industry trade publication Pollstar , touring grossed a record-setting $6.28 billion last year, up more than 13 percent from 2019, due in part to pent-up fan demand, inflation and major acts like Bad Bunny, Elton John and Harry Styles.

In addition to Beyoncé’s shows, this year will see blockbuster tours from artists including Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Metallica, Morgan Wallen and Madonna.

Last month, Beyoncé proved more polarizing than usual when she headlined the grand opening of a luxury hotel in Dubai, performing for an invite-only collection of guests, including influencers and journalists.

While some fans decried the optics of taking a major payday in a place that criminalizes homosexuality — “Beyoncé’s Dubai performance isn’t just an affront to LGBTQ+ fans, but workers’ rights in the UAE,” The Guardian declared — others noted that the singer’s set list did not yet include songs from “Renaissance.”

An earlier version of this article misstated the year Beyoncé headlined Coachella. It was 2018, not 2016.

Another Ticketmaster war is on the horizon as the BeyHive prepares for battle. After weeks of speculation, Beyoncé has officially confirmed a world tour in support of Renaissance , scheduled to make stops in stadiums across the world in 2023 .

The musician confirmed the news on Wednesday morning. The tour will begin in Europe this May before landing in North America on July 8 with back-to-back nights at Toronto’s Rogers Centre. The tour will make stops in Philadelphia, Nashville, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and more.

The Renaissance tour marks Beyoncé’s first extended stretch on the road since the On the Run tour, which made 48 stops across North America and Europe in 2018. Those shows were proceeded by the singer’s redefining Coachella performance, which arrived as the Netflix concert film Homecoming the following year.

The clips sparked multiple viral moments, the most notable being Beyoncé’s new vocal arrangements on familiar records, including “Drunk in Love” and “Countdown.” The private concert, notably, did not include any Renaissance tracks on the setlist, even the chart-topping lead single “Break My Soul.”

The tour announcement arrives as a saving grace for a starved BeyHive, still yearning for any meaningful visual companion pieces to the singer’s acclaimed seventh studio album. If Beyoncé is heading on the road again, maybe the wait for the music videos she teased in the record release trailer won’t be too much longer.

Grateful Dead Honor Bill Walton: ‘Biggest Deadhead in the World’

Bill walton's long, strange trip with the grateful dead, meet the drummer who spent decades with david gilmour and david crosby — and a day with bowie, how kid rock went from america's favorite hard-partying rock star to a maga mouthpiece, editor’s picks, every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

“As is customary for her, she layers the album with enough totems to fuel a million think pieces and dissertations,” Rolling Stone shared of Renaissance . “Yet it’s also possible to simply dance and vibe to the music. This is Beyoncé at her joyous peak, and you won’t get it unless you pull the “plastic off the sofa,” “drop it like a thottie,” and enjoy Queen Bey at her thrilling best.”

Beyoncé Announces Renaissance World Tour

By Evan Minsker and Allison Hussey

Beyonc

Beyoncé has announced that she’s touring in support of her latest album, Renaissance . The tour begins with a European leg in May, followed by dates in Canada and the United States that extend from from early July through late September. It’s her first tour since her 2018 co-headlining On the Run II Tour with Jay-Z behind their collaborative album, Everything Is Love , and her first headlining tour since 2016’s Formation World Tour behind Lemonade . The Renaissance World Tour is produced by Parkwood Entertainment and promoted by Live Nation. See all of the dates below.

Renaissance arrived July 29, rising swiftly to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and marking Beyoncé’s seventh album to summit the albums chart. It is the first act in what will be a three-part series, she has indicated.

Beyoncé hinted at her world tour in late October, during the fifth annual Wearable Art Gala, where the raffle included “ a UNIQUE experience ” to see her on the Renaissance tour. Purported images from the auction featured descriptions of the summer 2023 trek. Valued at $20,000, the package included first-class plane tickets, a three-night hotel stay, two concert tickets, and a guided backstage tour from Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles aka Miss Tina. Beyoncé was reportedly in attendance at the gala. In January, she performed at the opening of a new luxury resort in Dubai, but did not play any Renaissance material at the private concert . It was her first live performance since 2020.

Since sharing Renaissance , Beyoncé has made a few adjustments to the album; she replaced ableist lyrics in “ Heated ,” and removed an interpolation of Kelis ’ “Milkshake” on “Energy” after Kelis said she was not informed by Beyoncé and her team that her music was going to be used on the new album. Beyoncé also dropped Honey Dijon and Madonna remixes of “ Break My Soul .”

In 2019, Beyoncé released Homecoming: The Live Album . The next year, she shared Black Is King , a visual album based on her 2019 soundtrack for The Lion King: The Gift . (Beyoncé voiced adult Nala in the CGI remake film.) On Juneteenth of that year, she surprise-released “ Black Parade ,” which would go on to win the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance . At the same ceremony, she also won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song (for her feature on the remix of Megan Thee Stallion ’s “ Savage ”), as well as Best Music Video (for The Gift ’s “ Brown Skin Girl ”). “ Be Alive ”—her contribution to the King Richard soundtrack—was nominated for an Oscar at last year’s ceremony.

Beyoncé is nominated for nine honors at the 2023 Grammy Awards : Record of the Year , Song of the Year , and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Break My Soul”; Album of the Year and Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for Renaissance ; Best R&B Performance for “Virgo’s Groove”; Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Plastic Off the Sofa”; Best R&B Song for “Cuff It”; and Best Song Written for Visual Media for “Be Alive.”

What will the stage be like for the Renaissance World Tour?

According to reports, the stage for Bey's tour is set to be huge.

A source close to the production revealed that: "The structure for the stage is gigantic and on a totally different scale from any other tour right now – that’s why she needed a huge venue to rehearse in.

And she can’t run through the show in any of the stadiums she is performing in because they aren’t soundproofed and people would hear what she was preparing.

She is on top form and is pulling out all the stops to make this a truly groundbreaking tour."

Beyoncé's 2023 Tour: Dates, Tickets, & Presale For 'Renaissance' Shows

Get ready for your soul (or at least your bank account) to be broken . Queen Bey is coming to a city near you soon. More than six months after releasing Renaissance , her first solo studio album in six years, Beyoncé finally announced the Renaissance World Tour , sharing the poster on Instagram and posting the tour dates on her website on Feb. 1. The stadium jaunt will kick off in May in Sweden, with dates currently confirmed across Europe and North America.

The Renaissance World Tour will mark Beyoncé’s first live shows in five years — aside from the extravagant private show she played in Dubai on Jan. 21 for the grand re-opening of the Atlantis resort, for which she was reportedly paid around $24 million . Naturally, demand has proven to be enormous, leading Bey to add more shows across the U.S. and Europe. She last co-headlined the On The Run II Tour with her husband Jay-Z in 2018. The singer was rumored to have planned a tour in 2020 to promote The Lion King: The Gift and its accompanying Black Is King film , but dates were inevitably scrapped due to lockdown. Her last solo outing was the Formation World Tour in 2016.

In October, the “CUFF IT” singer indicated — in a very low-key way — that she would embark on a 2023 world tour to promote her seventh studio album . At the inaugural Wearable Art Gala, the 28-time Grammy winner auctioned off a “UNIQUE opportunity,” referencing her fan-favorite track “ALIEN SUPERSTAR,” to see one of her upcoming shows. The listing confirms that the Renaissance tour will kick off in the summer of 2023, calling it “one of the most sought-after musical performances of all time” and assuring international fans that Bey will take the tour worldwide.

That VIP package included two concert tickets, first-class airfare to select cities, a three-night hotel stay, and to top it off, a guided backstage tour from Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles-Lawson. According to Variety , the winning bidder paid between $45,000 and $50,000 for the honor of seeing Bey. Thankfully, this did not indicate the price range for normal Renaissance tour tickets.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Renaissance World Tour.

Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour Dates

The Renaissance World Tour will kick off on May 10 in Sweden and take Beyoncé to 14 cities across the UK and Europe before heading to the U.S. and Canada. The North American leg will start on July 8 in Toronto and conclude nearly three months later in New Orleans. Demand for tickets ended up being so big that Beyoncé added multiple dates across both continents. On Feb. 2, she announced second shows in several U.S. cities , and added multiple dates across the UK and Europe on Feb. 7, including a total of five shows in London alone.

How To Buy Renaissance Tour Tickets

Like Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour , fans will need to register with Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program to buy tickets to the Renaissance World Tour. BeyHive subscribers can register for their own Verified Fan presale, which comes first, while Citi cardmembers will also have a separate presale before the general Verified Fan onsale. The shows have been divided into Groups A, B, and C, which all have different registration periods and presale dates. Therefore, not all shows will go on sale at once, decreasing the chances of the traffic jams that happened for Swift’s Eras Tour .

That said, huge traffic and long virtual queues are still expected, as Ticketmaster announced the day after the tour announcement that the number of Verified Fan registrations exceeded the number of tickets available by nearly 800%. For cities in Group A, the BeyHive presale will begin on Feb. 6, with the Citi presale happening the next day and the general Verified Fan onsale being held on Feb. 11. The presales for Group B will be held the following week, and tickets for Group C shows will go on sale the week after. Originally, fans had until Feb. 2 to register for Group A shows, Feb. 9 for Group B, and Feb. 16 for Group C. But due to the demand, Ticketmaster ended up cutting off registration for all shows on Feb. 5.

Beyoncé Announces Additional Dates For Her Highly Anticipated Renaissance World Tour

renaissance tour dates europe

After much speculation and months of waiting, Beyoncé is finally taking " Renaissance " on tour this summer! Queen Bey made the official announcement on Feb. 1 with a dazzling poster for the Renaissance World Tour posted on Instagram and tour dates listed on her website . The news caused so much excitement among fans that Beyoncé added additional dates the very next day.

Beyoncé's announcement comes a few short months after she first teased her world tour at the fifth annual Wearable Art Gala , at which the Grammy winner was in attendance. On Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, she raffled off a lavish concert package valued at $20,000, which included first-class plane tickets, a three-night hotel stay, two "Renaissance" concert tickets, and a guided backstage tour from her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson.

While the exact amount that the package was auctioned off for has yet to be revealed, video footage from the event shows bids reaching $50,000 and more, as reported by Yahoo News . The only thing that's certain is that the first two tickets to the "Renaissance" tour were sold ahead of its wider sale. Now, fans will be able to purchase their own tickets starting on Monday, Feb. 6, beginning with an exclusive presale to BeyHive members, per a press release from Live Nation.

Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment-produced tour kicks off on May 10, 2023, at Friends Arena in Stockholm, SE, followed by stops throughout Europe and North America. It comes on the heels of her seventh solo album, act one of a three-part series, which arrived in July 2022, six years after she gave us 2016's " Lemonade ."

The 41-year-old Grammy-winning icon celebrated its release on her website , writing, "We did it!!! Thank you all so much for you love and support . . . This was years of experimentation. This was years of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears. I'm so grateful and it was worth it. I'm thankful that it was received and understood." She also hosted a star-studded Studio 54-inspired dance party at New York City's Paradise Club to mark the album becoming her seventh No. 1 solo album and the biggest debut from a woman artist this year, per Billboard .

Back in August, Beyoncé teased a clip from her first "Renaissance" music video, " I'm That Girl ," and most recently put on a grandiose live performance at the reveal of Dubai's Atlantis The Royal Hotel, which POPSUGAR was on hand to see, in January — marking her first concert in four years. She didn't perform any of her "Renaissance" songs, but now it's clear she's saving it all for her world tour.

Read ahead to find out everything we know about Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour, including dates and how to buy tickets.

Beyoncé finally announces 40-stop Renaissance world tour

The artist confirmed the news via instagram wednesday morning before sharing a full list of dates on her website.

Beyoncé

It appears Joe Biden’s Wednesday announcement that Congress will begin limiting egregious concert ticket fees comes not a moment too soon: this morning, Beyoncé also finally announced a 47-date world tour supporting her Grammy-nominated album, Renaissance . Hear that tapping? It’s the sound of stuffed Ticketmaster queues everywhere being refreshed over and over and over.

Beyoncé confirmed the news on Wednesday morning via her Instagram , where she shared a tour announcement alongside another glittery portrait from her Renaissance album cover photoshoot. Kicking off in Stockholm, Sweden on May 10, the tour’s European leg includes two dates in London—a North American leg kicks off with two dates in Toronto, Ontario on July 8 and 9, respectively.

Swirling excitement for the Renaissance live experience has been at a high for almost six months now, since the July 29, 2022 release of the album drew profound acclaim from critics and fans alike (it was The A.V. Club ’s No. 1 album of the year ). By the time she heads out on tour, it’s more than likely Beyoncé will also have a few more Grammy nods under her belt— Renaissance saw the artist nominated nine times, bringing her cumulative total nominations to an astounding 88.

Beyoncé returned to the stage for first time in four years in January

Last month, Beyoncé made her return to the stage and performed at the opening of the Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai. Despite the luxury experience, the singer left fans wanting more, as she did not perform any songs from "Renaissance," The Hollywood Reporter reported.

The invitation-only event marked her first concert in more than four years. She last performed at the  Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 event in 2018.

Beyoncé dominates Grammy nominations

The singer's tour announcement comes days ahead of the Grammys where Beyoncé leads the 2023 lineup with nine nominations, including best dance/electronic album ("Renaissance"), best R&B performance ("Virgo’s Groove") and best traditional R&B performance ("Plastic Off the Sofa").

With 28 wins and 88 total career nominations, Beyoncé now ties her husband, rapper Jay-Z , for the most nominations in Grammy history. If Beyoncé picks up four or more awards this year, she will surpass the late Georg Solti for the most Grammy wins of all time. (The Hungarian-born conductor holds the record with 31.)

Beyoncé called out by Monica Lewinsky: over 'Partition' lyric after ableism controversy

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have got "to be the most intense power couple in the history of music," Recording Academy president Harvey Mason Jr. Mason said after the nominations were revealed. "That’s music and Grammy royalty – that’s the royal family."

Their combined 176 nominations are "absolutely a testament to their talent, to their level of excellence, to their work ethic, to their level of greatness over a long period of time. I don’t even know what the next (leading) couple would be, but it’s not anywhere close.”

Beyoncé's 'Break My Soul.' Taylor Swift's 'Anti-Hero.'  These are the 10 best songs of 2022, ranked.

Beyoncé noticeably was not nominated in any of the music video categories for the Grammys, having not released any album visuals for "Renaissance" since its debut.

Beyoncé Announces Renaissance World Tour 2023 with Stops in 25 U.S. Cities

The "Crazy in Love" singer confirmed the hugely anticipated stadium tour on Instagram Wednesday morning

renaissance tour dates europe

Beyoncé is back, baby!

The singer, who is up for nine Grammys this Sunday , revealed her Renaissance World Tour 2023 on Wednesday morning in an Instagram post — coincidentally, (or perhaps, very strategically!) six years to the day she announced her surprise pregnancy with twins .

The highly anticipated tour — produced by Parkwood Entertainment and promoted by Live Nation — is set to kick off in Europe on May 10 at Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden before touring overseas in Cardiff, Edinburgh, Sunderland, Paris, London, Marseille, Amsterdam, Warsaw and more.

A North American leg of the tour begins on July 8 in Toronto, Canada before hitting 25 U.S. cities including Philadelphia, Nashville, Louisville, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, East Rutherford, Boston, Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., Charlotte, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, St. Louis, Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Inglewood, Vancouver, Seattle, Kansas City, Dallas, and Houston.

The tour is currently scheduled to wrap on Sept. 27 in New Orleans.

For complete ticket information, visit tour.beyonce.com .

Beyonce's last tour was 2018's On the Run tour which hit 48 cities in North America and Europe. Beyoncé last performed a full concert back in 2018, when she and JAY-Z, 53, appeared at the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 event .

The tour announcement comes just over one week after Queen Bey performed her first full concert in more than four years, when she performed an hour-long set at the new Atlantis The Royal Resort in Dubai.

For more on Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour announcement, listen below to our daily podcast PEOPLE Every Day.

Moving through a decade of iconic hits, Beyoncé, 41, performed staples such as "Crazy in Love," "Beautiful Liar" and "Naughty Girl," as well as more recent tunes including "Freedom," "Spirit" and "Be Alive."

The singer wore a set of dazzling looks during the performance, including a yellow custom-made Atelier Zuhra corseted dress, which was topped with a feathered skirt and matching backpiece, when she opened the show performing a cover of Etta James ' "At Last."

Then, the mother of three changed into another custom gown, an all-red Nicolas Jebran ensemble composed of a skin-tight bodysuit that was decorated with gold jewels across her torso and chest. She accessorized the look with a matching, billowing skirt and an intricate headpiece.

Notably missing from Beyoncé's set was any song from Renaissance .

Renaissance , which has been billed as the first of a three-part project , marks Beyoncé's first solo album in six years.

She previously released Dangerously in Love (2003), B'Day (2006), I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008), 4 (2011), Beyoncé (2013) and Lemonade (2016), following her tenure with Destiny's Child . Beyoncé also appeared on the 2018 collaborative album Everything Is Love with husband JAY-Z , as well as 2019's The Lion King: The Gift , a soundtrack for Disney's live-action adaptation that features original music by the artist.

Billie Eilish slams ‘psychotic’ Taylor Swift, Beyoncé’s long concerts

W hile Taylor Swift and Beyoncé have recently been playing greatest hits shows, Billie Eilish will not be doing that with her upcoming “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour, which will commence in September 2024.

During a live session on Stationhead ( via @swifterupdates on X), Eilish answered fan questions. One fan asked if she would perform a three-hour show a la Swift and Beyoncé. She quickly shot that idea down, calling the concept “literally psychotic.”

“I’m not doing a three-hour show, that’s literally psychotic,” she said. “Nobody wants that. You guys don’t want that. I don’t want that. I don’t even want that as a fan.

“Even my favorite artist in the world, I’m not trying to hear them for three hours. That’s far too long,” she continued with a laugh.

It’s unclear if Eilish was throwing shade at Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. In the past , she did give them props for playing stadiums on their “Eras” and “Renaissance” tours, respectively. They aren’t the only ones to play long shows, though. Speaking from personal experience, Paul McCartney puts on a near-three-hour show. Bruce Springsteen is also known for his lengthy performances.

Billie Eilish 2024 tour

On September 29, 2024, Eilish will commence her latest concert tour, the “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour with a show in Quebec City. The tour is in support of Eilish’s latest studio album. 81 dates are planned for the tour.

She will first play shows across North America before heading to Australia and Europe in 2025. As of the time of this writing, Eilish is set to conclude the tour with two shows in Dublin, Ireland, on July 26 and 27.

The “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour is Eilish’s seventh headlining tour. Even before Eilish released her first studio album, she embarked on three solo tours.

While it is unknown what songs Eilish will play during her upcoming tour, fans can rest easy knowing the show won’t exceed three hours long.

Who is Billie Eilish?

Billie Eilish first gained notoriety for her debut single, “Ocean Eyes.” The song was written and produced by her brother, Finneas OConnell, who has remained her frequent collaborator. In 2017, Eilish released her debut EP, Don’t Smile at Me.

Her debut studio album came in 2019 when she released When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? In 2021, Eilish released her second album, Happier Than Ever. Finally, in 2024, Eilish released her third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

At the Grammys, Eilish has already garnered 25 nominations. She has won nine awards thus far. Her most recent wins came at the sixty-sixth ceremony when Eilish won Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media (both for “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie). The song was also up for Record of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Additionally, Eilish has already won two Oscars at just 22 years old. She first won Best Original Song for “No Time to Die” for the James Bond film of the same name. Not long after, Eilish took home the same prize for “What Was I Made For?”, the lone Oscar win for Barbie.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour could boost Europe’s economy more than America’s, experts predict

taylor swift performing

There’s no disputing it—Taylor Swift is one of a kind.

The American pop icon filled a blank space the world didn’t know it had with her soulful music. And although her songs are impactful, Swift is an economic tour de force, too.

Her Eras Tour, which kicked off last year on the heels of a global pandemic, shattered records as the highest-grossing tour in history. Every city she performed at saw a boost in business, whether from retail, food and beverage, or hotel room sales.

Swift’s influence is so profound that the Eras Tour generated $5 billion in consumer spending in the U.S. in just six months, Nomura estimates suggest.

The singer is now applying her economic clout in Europe for this cruel summer—and experts think its benefits might exceed the U.S. leg of her tour.

What makes Europe different for Swift?

Swift is doing over 50 shows, including in the U.K., Switzerland and Poland.

While the timing and macroeconomic environments differ in each country compared to the U.S., Europe as a whole has some general advantages.

“[Europe has] stronger public transportation networks than the U.S., and so it’s easier to get to the venue from a wider region. And so, we think that the impact is likely to be more spread out than just within that two-and-a-half mile radius,” Natalia Lechmanova, chief Europe economist at Mastercard Economics Institute, told Fortune .

That means people don’t necessarily have to be close to concert locations before attending, as they can bet on the efficient transport system to get them where they need to go. It also helps that Swift’s tour dates are peppered over the summer when people are already looking to travel.

If that wasn’t reason enough, Swift is also set to perform new tracks from a double album she released last month in her upcoming shows. That bodes well for the pop star’s American fans, many of whom have flocked to Paris in higher numbers than for the Olympics to watch Swift perform. Others are traveling to different parts of Europe to catch a glimpse of their idol.

Caroline Babinski, a 26-year-old based in New York, is flying to Zurich to attend one of Swift’s gigs in July. She caught two of Eras Tour shows in the States but that hasn’t stopped her from going for yet another—but this time, it’ll be in Europe.

“It was much, much easier to book in Zurich. When I was trying to go to the U.S. shows I actually never got a pre-sale,” Babinski told Fortune , adding that tickets were also much cheaper compared to the show she went to in Philadelphia.

Babinski said she spent roughly $1,500 on the trip to Zurich, where she will stay with and attend Swift’s concert with her sister.

“I think it’s worth it,” she said. “The production of the show she’s doing right now is just unmatched.”

‘So it’s gonna be forever, or it’s gonna go down in flames?’

Lechmanova identified the strong U.S. dollar and the increasing trend towards people spending on experiences rather than material goods as other factors driving American Swifties to Europe.

Economies the world over have had a rough few years coping with interest rates. It’s taken a lot of work, but inflation has finally started to cool down in most major economies, even if it’s not as low as their central banks would like.

However, the sudden demand for hotel rooms and food and beverage services leading up to significant concerts can fuel inflation fleetingly. It happened in Sweden last July, during the “ Beyoncé blip ,” when core inflation slowed less than expected during the month of the singer’s Renaissance tour shows in Stockholm.

Could that be a cause for concern in Europe with Swift’s Eras Tour? Unlikely, Lechmanova said.

“It can lead to a blip on that day, but then it comes down. So when it comes to [the] impact on inflation trends in Europe, that is nothing to really rave about,” she said.

While Swift’s concerts will slip away like a moment in time, they’ll have a more considerable impact in smaller cities than bigger ones, Nomura’s analysts wrote in a March note. The reason is that behemoths like London and Paris can absorb large numbers of additional visitors in a way that Liverpool, for example, cannot.

In the U.K. alone, Barclays estimates a boost of £1 billion ($1.27 billion) for the economy, with concert ticket holders spending 12 times more than the average Brit does on a night out. Swifties are feeding the mania by splurging on concert-themed films and dressing up for the artist’s different “eras.”

A more localized impact can also be seen in Ireland, where Swift has three gigs lined up in June, George Moran, European economist at Nomura, told Fortune.

Still, there’s a risk of overestimating the economic impact, he warns.

“U.S. cities and their placement of large stadiums can be very different from the international cities Taylor Swift will visit in 2024,” Moran said, adding that any effects, as seen from the Beyoncé blip in Sweden, are more sector-based (such as in hospitality) rather than having a notable impact at a macroeconomic level.

“If the effect was not visible in a small economy like Sweden, it is very unlikely to have a sizable effect on larger economies,” he said.

In any case, Europe has already rolled out the red carpet for Swift and her string of performances through to August.

With fans swarming her at different venues, waiting with bated breath to watch her live, it looks like Swift already owns the summer.
