Long vehicles need to check price as they did charge us more for a longer site for a 9m Motorhome. It was a great site, away for the road, with plenty of room though.

Very large family oriented park situated on Barrier Highway side of Broken Hill approximately 5klm from main cafe’s. It was noted that many sites were a bit tight however our appointed powered site that was chip barked surfaced was very generous. Amenities were of recent construction and very modern design.

cmca.120953

Not bad for a caravan park. Good facilities. We decided on a non-powered site which was lucky as the powered sites were very close together and close to the highway, ours was at the back with a nice wood chip covering and tons of room for our camper with awning out.

For a en-suite site with clean but aged facilities I felt that $54.00 was a lot to ask/night. The area is covered in older bark chips and dirt; yes the shower & toilet were clean. I just felt it was an expensive place to stay!

Stayed here 3 nights at $41 for powered site whilst trying to fix some vehicle problems. Vehicles well packed in and pretty busy park. Facilities all good and clean and enough to handle the numbers. The stated Wifi in their advertising was useless. I could not connect and they could not help - only said a lot of people have problems. They are waiting for an upgrade by Telstra as is most of Australia! That was disappointing as we needed internet to sort our problems and to catch up on correspondences since were were there 3 days.

Silverton (20 minutes drive)

One of the easiest and most rewarding day trips from Broken Hill is to Silverton, a little more than 20 minutes drive from Broken Hill Tourist Park.

A classic outback town, Silverton and its spectacular surrounds offer an array of unique finds. Behind the sleepy streets and heritage stone buildings is a swag-full of art galleries, artist studios, museums, a famous pub and an atmospheric cafe.

Nestled in the arid landscape of the western Barrier Ranges, Silverton is spectacular in a classic outback sense. No wonder the town is more famous as a film location than most places in Australia. The historic Silverton Hotel has featured in more than 100 films and commercials.

Daydream Mine (under 40 mnutes drive)

No trip to outback NSW is complete without a visit to Day Dream Mine. It descends deep into the earth and gives visitors a real sense of what it must have once been like wielding a pick and shovel in such challenging conditions. Find out more here

Menindee Lakes ( under one and half hours drive)

Enjoy a relaxing day exploring this outback oasis abundant with spectacular native birds and wildlife. Guests have been known to enjoy a swim and catch a fish or two!  Boat, fish, swim and even waterski. Be sure to make time for lunch at the historic Maidens Hotel where tragic early explorers Burke and Wills camped in 1860.
