Welcome to Bagdogra Airport and transfer to Darjeeling (2,130 meters), 4 hours/90km.

We welcome you at Bagdogra Airport near Siliguri and bring you to Darjeeling. Drive past Assam tea plantations and little villages along the way. Admire the rolling hills as we rise above the clouds through the brilliant green landscape. Lying on top of a ridge, Darjeeling faces the Himalaya and is a popular destination for Westerners and Indians alike. Overnight at a hotel in Darjeeling.

Drive from Darjeeling to Maneybhanjyang (2,134m), trek to Tumling (2,940m), 2 hour drive, 5 hour trek/11km.

The adventure begins! A two-hour jeep ride takes us to the quiant village of Maneybhanjyang, just outside Singalila National Park. Stop by the office and take care of visa/passport formalities, before trekking through the forested trail. The path leads through colourful oak and rhododendron trees. The uphill hike leads us to Tumling after 5-6 hours. Here, we have stunning views the Kanchenjunga range in the distance, and the city of Darjeeling beneath us. Overnight at the Shikhar Lodge, run by a friendly Gurung family.

The Singalila Ridge is located on the north-south mountain Himalaya ridge which runs about 85km altitude of 3,636mt – 11,929ft along the India–Nepal and Sikkim border in Darjeeling the typical itinerary is over 6 days each day you will be walking about 6-7hours. the trek begin from Manevanjang trail thrugh national park then continues to Singalila Ridge with night at the beautiful village Tumling, Sandakphu, Phalut, Gorkhey and Timburey villages end your trek rimbeek and you drive to Darjeeling. 

How difficult is the Darjeeling Singalila Ridge Trek?

The Singalila Ridge Trek in Darjeeling is considered moderately difficult. The toughest portion is in the first couple of days when you ascend to the ridge. The trail climbs about 1500 meters in elevation in two days, which is a bit of a challenge. Also, for several days, you will be trekking and sleeping around the ridge, which lies above 3,636 meters (11,929 feet). Overall, if you have trekked before or if you are motivated, you should not have any issues with the Singalila Ridge Trek. It is suitable for people of all ages and experience levels.

The Victoria Memorial at night especially is ethereal! Just arrived back from a fantastic trip travelling around Kerala. We went to the beach side to mountains and ended up in the backwaters of Alleppy. What great memories we will cherish. Riding the elephants was a new high for our children.

They planned our Chasing Northern Lights trip in Finland in December 2019. They customised our itinerary to our requirements and interests and coordinated with us throughout the time there to ensure all ran smoothly.

Our last trip was at Australia.. Wow what a country it was !! We are regular travellers but very few places the wow factor prevails. It was an awesome land of lovely nature, mind blowing wild life, high-rises, lively and helpful people, sea sports, lots of fun activities, easy accessibility, nice food ( both Indian and local) and many more. This is the first time we got our trip organized by Flying Squirrel Holidays . At the beginning we were little hesitant to book our trip with them as it’s not very popular like the big names of the travel industry. But after we got some positive reviews from our acquaintances we decided to give them a chance and that was really a good decision. The entire trip was very well organized and specially to mention the hotels were very nice. We travelled with our 2 year old toddler and the journey was pretty smooth. God’s own country, Kerala is as picturesque as you can imagine it to be! This is ideal as a family-friendly holiday destination, a romantic getaway or even for solo travel. This was our second planned trip overseas with Flying Squirrel Holidays. Our first experience with them was in the year 2013 when we went to Thailand and the recent one was in October 2019 to Singapore and Malaysia. They plan every detail of the tip well in advance and the logistics, rooms in hotels were exactly in line with their proposal. They maintain complete transparency in their dealings and offerings and yes their prices are quite reasonable in terms of the standard of services provided by them.
