Poppy = Electric performance that would appeal to a wide audience! Poppy sings some mesmerizingly quieter lyrics which are violently (in a good complementary way) teamed up with a raucously strong drummer and 3 guitarists. {Bring earplugs, seriously- you will still hear everything and avoid getting a hearing aid when you are old.} To get a feel for what I'm describing, seek out her excellent duet with Grimes: Play Destroy.

A note on VOWWS, the opening act on 1-25-20;

Two musicians. He sings and plays guitar, reminded me of Depeche Mode & Chris Isaak. She sings and plays the keyboard/mixer/turntable(?), reminded me of a mix of Berlin and Mazzy Star. Very enjoyable music.

I had a great experience at the concert. I got to confess to her, while she was on stage, she gave me a Poppy Beverage and it tasted great. Her overall performance was amazing. I would recommend everybody to go see her. Tickets are cheap too! Rate 11/10. Would definitely see her again

100% the best show I've ever been to! Better than Katy Perry, better than God smack, better than everyone I've seen! So unique and energetic, merch prices were really cheap! I would totally go again! I would go 1000 times again if I could! Aviva was amazing opening for her, and overall the concert was great!

Poppy Announces Massive North American + European Tour

Poppy has announced a massive tour spanning North America and Europe. The North American dates will begin this fall, running for two months before heading to Europe in early 2022.

The rise of Poppy has been a spectacular one, transforming the famed YouTuber from a meme to a legit metal frontwoman. Poppy will release her second metal-infused album, Flux , on Sept. 24, following up on the wildly dynamic and creative I Disagree .

Poppy’s Flux tour will begin Sept. 30 in Santa Ana, Calif. and head to the East Coast and Canada before concluding back in the west in Portland, Ore. on Nov. 26. Her 2022 European dates will kick off Jan. 10 in Bristol, UK and run until Feb. 7 in Vienna, Austria.

Tickets will go on sale Aug. 6 at 10AM local time. Check out the full list of shows below.

Poppy 2021 ‘Flux’ Tour Announce With A New Setlist

Poppy , the world-renowned pop singer has announced a huge tour to support her latest album ‘Flux’, which is due out September 30th. The 39-city excursion kicks off on Sept. 30 in Santa Ana and takes fans through November with performances across major U.S cities like Dallas, Houston, Atlanta Orlando Philadelphia New York Detroit Chicago Los Angeles Seattle Montreal Ottawa Toronto, And Europe as well.

Acclaimed global superstar Poppy plans to release her next studio project Flux come September of this year; she also will be embarking on a worldwide arena tour starting at home base in California before heading eastward for America stops including Texas, Michigan among others then over into Canada for shows near Montréal and Vancouver.

Poppy will be releasing her new album ‘Flux’ on September 24th . The next edition of the fourth studio album follows up 2020’s ‘I Disagree,’ which reached a career-best #12 on Billboard’s Independent chart, and is preceded by two singles: “Bleach Blonde Baby” in 2019 and “4 AM.” In addition to this great news for fans, Poppy also received an award at Shorty Awards for Best Weird Artist.

Poppy’s fourth studio album, Flux is coming out with a surreal video to go along. The lead single/title track for the new album comes hot on the heels of her EP Eat which came out in June as soundtrack music for WWE NXT.

“Flux” finds Poppy exploring a candy-coated world constructed by Australian visual/structure artist Pip & Pop. Throughout the video, she explores her newfound hard rock sound while being surrounded by colors and shapes that are both playful and mysterious at once.

The mononymous Poppy is a unique creation. Transplanting herself to LA eleven years ago, the multi-hyphenate creative eschews discussing youth and young adulthood, preferring to lean into the moment. It’s a dictum that steers her many creative practices. Originating from a dance background, Poppy’s first steps in the creative world began with performance art video vignettes. The importance of these videos took prominence over the music she made to accompany them, but eventually, as the intimacy of the songs became too strong to let anyone else touch them, she progressed into singing, finding an outlet that would allow her to pull apart her journals, dig deep visually, and experiment sonically to create something entirely new. After initially signing to LA’s Sumerian Records, she released her album, 2020’s I Disagree, to much acclaim. Disregarding both convention, labels and genres, it tallied over 100 million streams and BLOODMONEY earned a GRAMMY nomination for ‘Best Metal Performance’, the first ever solo female artist nominated in the category. Zig is at once tender and tough, filled with bold, electronic beats, deep metal rock riffs reminiscent of early 90s industrial. Recorded with producer Ali Payami, and her long term collaborative partner Simon Wilcox the three of them made an album that is both from the heart and creatively significant. Finding inspiration for the album from music that has resonated with her since a child – Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club, Blondie, Gary Numan, and Bowie, as well as semi-anonymous electro-pioneer Burial and English DJ Blawan, creating the album was a tight process representative of a singular chapter. “I learned a lot about myself [making it],” she says, “and I feel like that is represented. Now I’ve been with the music for an amount of time, when I listen back I can have a little more clarity than I had in the moment.” Lyrically she speaks of emotions without varnish. In Flicker, she sings “never put your grimy hands on my steering wheel... I’ll be the drive in my own my life.” Electro drumrolls paired with Mirwais-era Madonna-esque keys give the song a dark ballad feel. “The song was about feeling uncomfortable with love relationships and trying to understand why that was,” she tells, “and orchestrating in my mind the end before it happens.” Writing the song helped her get that feeling under control, “It’s a reminder to myself to live in the moment and not expect much from the future or a “forever”. “There is a freedom and aggression in singing that I lean into more so - there’s a now-ness you have to be present - it’s taught me a lot about myself and performing; you can’t be anywhere else mentally.” “Making ZIG – we made well over 40 songs, and I selected the ones I kept coming back to. Ali is so inspiring and so quick, and Simon and I turn our phone calls into songs. We would finish one, listen back and say “lets make another”. Eventually whittling the album down to just 11 tracks, she worked between her four different journals (organised for different ideas) but just as often started with a riff or chord progression – she plays both guitar and bass. “I’ll come in with a skeleton and we piece it together. I feel the need to make sense of my own code, in an effort to understand myself.” The final track on the album is Prove It, which sees her vocals flicker from unfettered and vulnerable to double speed, fuzzed-up, distorted screaming. “I am competing with myself. I believe that’s fine.”
