Humblescough Farm

Educational Farm Visits for Schools in Rural Lancashire

Educational visits to Humblescough Farm give children an opportunity to benefit from a day spent outdoors in the natural environment and are available from mid-April until the end of September. These visits are suitable for children aged 3 – 11 years and are led by well-trained staff. They can be arranged for a half day, or a full day, and are planned according to teacher requirements and curriculum needs. Risk assessments for all activities are provided.

We have considerable experience of providing engaging and entertaining visits for Primary Schools and Special Needs Schools. Visits usually include opportunities for learning about farming and discovering how nature-friendly farming provides habitats for plants and wildlife. We also offer themed visits which we can plan alongside class teachers.

During visits, we always spend time in the woodlands and visitors take part in activities such as storytelling, helping to build a campfire, toasting marshmallows, making clay goblins, building shelters, playing woodland games, and investigating the natural environment. There are also opportunities for quiet moments sitting around the campfire.

Farm visits are led by Laurie Seddon, an experienced Primary School Teacher who is First Aid trained and DBS cleared. He is also a Level 3 Forest School Practitioner, Mindfulness Practitioner, and a Story-teller.
